distributing a ROM with SPB Home is classified as warez. But apart from that all above will be released in Elite 2.5 with its "Lite" Version

I apologized for my poor usage of english
what i meant was, end user like me can always install our registered spb home if HTC Home and Cube could not be intergrated into the ROM.
I didn't meant for the SPB Home to be cooked into the ROM.
walshieau: I am waiting eagerly for your new release

I agree with OP
cept it wouldn't hurt to keep touch flo in there...
it doesn't take up that much space does it...?
Thanks for all your work on Elite ROM
can't wait for 2.5 =)

[RELEASE v 0.10] WMXL - Windows Mobile "XDA Live" Edition

The First Edition of
Windows Mobile "XDA Live"
for HTC Hermes
I have applied my XDA Live Scripts to the "Vanilla" edition of Windows Mobile 6 for Hermes.
So I present you with Version 0.10 of XDA Live!
Quick FAQ:
Q: How do I install it.
A: The self extracting archive will runthe RUU after it extracts all files. I used The XDA RUU which was modified to push the Des Bootloader to your device. This installer does not require your device to be SuperCID and should work with any Bootloader version.
Q: Will WMXL (Windows Mobile XDA Live) fix my corrupted radio bootloader or otherwise bricked Hermes?
A: If the other tools here can't do it then don't bet the farm on WMXL doing it. The Flashing tools are still the same, no magic pill here.
Q: Kyphur you are such a Guru, how can I be like you?
A: Remember that my head is in the clouds on this one only because I'm standing on the shoulders' of giants. This project owes it's very existence to many other contributers here and they deserve as much if not more of the cudos than I do. The is a team effort, please support everyone who made this possible. (See my post here). I have been a member her for only 15 months give or take but I have spent more time reading than doing or posting.
Q: If you embed a program into the Rom how can I remove it (to save memory).
A: You can't remove file that are in the Rom. You can remove the Shortcuts to the programs. Again I will repeat that programs in the Rom do not consume any memory. If you don't want the program simply ignore it and it will not harm you.
Q: Will you still release the scripts?
A: Of course, I have spent this evening building and testing this Rom for Release. Expect this to delay the release of the How-To but it is still coming.
Q: I have more questions...
A: Read this thread.
Click here for Images of all the Themes I have collected. I've decided that instead of embedding them all, I will remove all but the default Crossbow Theme and add the Aero Theme.
The rest of the collection will be made avaliable via my website this week.
I have integrated the following Applications:
Dictionary Editor
HTweakC v2.1
MS Hearts for PPC
PHM Registry Editor
SMS Backup
StartClean
VJCandelaLite (Flashlight)
Windows Mobile Remote Display (CERDISP)
Fixes Specific to using "Vanilla" Base Rom
Office Mobile Folder and shortcuts are restored
Remote Desktop Mobile has been embedded
I have integrated the following Registry Fixes:
By default only the Date Plugin is enabled (and it is set to a single line).
The Today Screen says "XDA Live" and the about screen shows " - XDA" after the OS Build Number.
Pressing & Holding the Comm Button toggles the between Vibrate & Normal.
PDAViet Memory Leak Fix is Applied.
Disabled the warning for Unsigned Applications (Application Lock)
Misc:
I have added two "Classic RingTones, (OldPhone-US.wma and OldPhone-UK.wav) for those of us who want to get away from the music and chirping Ringers.
I have removed all carrier customizations, no need to soft reset to avoid customization!
This Version is missing:
Voice Call.
Push To Talk.
Smart Dialer.
Microsoft Live! Mobile.
Windows Mobile Update
BTW, this truly is a group effort.
Without pof & team unlocking I never would have even gone looking for the base Rom.
aChef by aklok_hk is doing the heavy lifting.
Sleuth, ShogunMark, Faria ViJay555, Bepe, Maimach have all been instrumental either directly or indirectly in this project.
Des and the SSPL was another step that got me to this point.
Olipro's RUU Workshop was used to make the installer package.
Of course there are all of the guys who have been doing this before I bought my first PPC Phone, they blazed the trail I simply walk behind them.
Finally, I can't forget my unnamed source. They took a big change passing this along to me. Even though this relase is built on the Vanilla Rom, without that trust I wouldn't have been able to spend that previous week cooking with a WM6 Rom Image.
Oh Yeah, here is the download link: WM XDA Live v0.10
Praise be to Kyphur!!!
To kyphur
Hi kyphur,
Congratulations for the release and Thank you very much.
Good job.
Taguapire.
well done kyphur well done...
Praise you sir, job well done!
awsome work kyphur! quick question though, will you still be working on your original version of XDA-Live, and if yes, will it include the things that this one is missing (LIVE integration, PTT, etc)?
downloading... thanks for all your hard work
All hail to the guru and his team...
Just installing as we speak. I'll report back on stability useage etc as time goes on - and look forward to updates, fixes, advice etc.
Many thanks Kyphur
WEEEEEE!!!!!!
I love me some kyphur! Your work is much appreciated, and I mean that very sincerly. Get some rest and thanks for everything!!
I will continue development using "Van" as my base so I can release fixes and updates to you.
If I get a better version that I can share (even the original one or an update of it) I will be able to apply my scripts to it so everyone can now join in the development phase of this Rom.

ok crap i just upgraded to the other guy's vanilla wm6 release
guess i'll flash this one on now lol
good work, just wondering if you fixed the keyboard issue (the symbols seem to be misaligned in a random order)
Quick question ... if I flash this ROM and for some reason need/want to go back to the new Cingular ROM (e.g., if I can't get Goodlink to run on this yet) should I have any problem just re-flashing the new Cingular ROM over this XDA ROM?
Welcome in the HALL of Fame...
Thanks to ALL the active people who made this happen.

Check the wiki, 8525s and other Hermes have a different keyboard setting.
You shouldn't have any problem reverting to another Rom.

Without problems
A small and possibly large wish would be to have the ROM built by LVSW and with the basic features that he plans to put in place with the posted cabs on the original post when launched for personal upgrading. These cabs would have to be compatible with the new ROM release. Everybody wants to customize their device to there liking and unfortunatly the ROM cooker is not going to satisfy everyone wants and needs within a ROM. LVSW has been creating extremely stable ROM's for our enjoyment and needs. If LVSW is in agreement with such a plan this post could be a place that individuals could post the types of extra cabs that people would like for customizing.

Would it be possible to rip the OS from Black 2.0 and use that?
Roaming Triangle icon on the status bar
Would it be possible to look into the roaming issue that many of us are having?
This is just a wish, but I understand that there maybe other higher priorities.
Thansk!

If so, please do.
I agree with releasing the addons as CABs as I like to have as much program and storage free on my Pocket PC. This should only be some addons, otherwise there's no point in using one cooker's ROMs over another as they would just be a base OS. I vote that TweakUI should be integrated as well as the shortened welcome screen (space saved I assume), Calendar Monthly soft key and BTftp.
A suggestion I have for a program that should be integrated is David Andrš Birthdays plugin: http://pda.jasnapaka.com/birthdays/
It displays birthdays and anniversaries on your Today screen ahead of time and it's tiny in size. You can choose to hide it when there are no events coming up and customise a lot of the way it display things.
Looking forward to the new one LVSW! And thanks for being an intermediary Lurch.

Looking forward to the upcoming release. I've tried several ROMs and LVSW is the most stable.
What flavors of release are you planning, OS only, OS/Radio, etc?
Thank you for all your hard work LSVW.

We can always extract the OS only nbh..but I would suggest making it an OS only since many of us already have the most up-to-date SPL and radio, this will make it a lot easier for some newbies.

First WWE Rom of 2008?

Hi,
Messchle's & Tom Condon & Dutch rom developpers seem to be on a new year pauze, as far as i know there hasn't been released any (WWE) rom yet in 2008, only some greek & french stuff.
What do you all like in new upcomming roms ? This to get some inspiration to the rom-creators and offcourse to keep our P3300 in the running.
Maybe some cam tool (msn live cannot start camming i think, would be nice with your p3300 via wifi
I have ordered a second P3300 (other one in repair shop).
It's the best pda-phone I ever had, gsm-gps-wifi-mp3-mp4, what more can they invent ?
Cheers,
Innovator
That's right. Im still longing here everyday for a latest and clean ROM this 2008. Artemis, my bets device Only if it had a 2.8" sized VGA screen like in Eten, nothing could beat it ever!
Regards,
Carty..
2008, maybe I change my phone
im with you new phone i need 3g
New Rom Requests
A Touch Keyboard "Add Word To Dictionary" that actually works
Hold "End Call" button to lock device
Yep looking for new phone here too.
Artemis has been amazing, but now I want 3g in the bundle so Maybe Kaiser or hang on for Polaris.
The Artemis has done well, I'm not sure of the value of writing anymore ROM's at the moment, what's new to add to them? Perhaps a Pointui ROM in the future.
I want to have rock stable and clean ROM based on HTC P3300 WM6 ROM with maximized free storage and program memory - no added applications or features (like touch and cube) - just a base for making my own system with free and commercial applications, customizations and personal data for backup and restore.
Best wishes for Meshle and Tom for their great work and happy new year.
I would like to see more roms but im looking for a new phone, whatever i get though i'l still keep my orbit
right varvocell
a clean wm6 rom would be nice indeed

PointUi Rom
I agree with Gadjet, a pointui based rom would be nice with themes for pocket cm, wmp, cube, today screen ect Maybe someone with the skills (and time lol) could do a couple of versions eg : Black with cube, Blue with cube, Black without, Blue without...
About the topic
I think it's really nice to have people the create the ROMs we use but I think it would be a lot nicer to have a kitchen that enables the user to create his own individual ROM. There is a guy in a German Windows Mobile forum that created a tools that is close to that:
http://www.ppc-welt.info/community/showthread.php?t=121552
http://www.ppc-welt.info/community/showthread.php?t=124358 (improved version)
I think it was the pandora kitchen that made me wish that we had it too. I think in that kitchen you can select between about 100 packages which ones you want on your pda. Basically we need a kitchen and packages that work for our Artemis, then updating shouldn't be the biggest problem.
I respect the "Chefs" that cook really nice ROMs and I'm not telling them to stop their good work. But if we all had one big kitchen this would be a community again because the users could create their own packages and their own ROMs.
Once I found out how easy it is to create a package and cook your own ROM I was surprised that no one told me before. The tutorials are either overloaded or don't have enough information for the beginners to understand what the Chefs are talking about. That's why I'm going to make video tutorials in February and post them as soon as they are ready (starting in my own language).
I'd be happy if we could make this nice place a true community again where the users think about contributing. To be a good example I'll post my first tutorial within the next week.
That tool you have linked to looks awesome.....I'm into that in a big way and will give it a go when I have some time...thanks for sharing....

It's my current ROM - I agree - very stable, clean, with good battery life and plenty of free memory, but as far as I know it's not based on P3300 (and I'm not sure if Java midlet manager in this ROM could be used without any legal problems).

Have you tried the last new ROM from Meschle Vaniila 4.01? This one is even
faster than the other releases. I'm working with this one for a week now and this one is also stable and very very fast.
Artemis vs Polaris
I have tried out the Polaris a bit, and it looks almost the same as the Artemis, only faster (400 MHz) and with some minor approvements. I especially like the screenshield which follows. But, I miss the full GPS package with car kit and charger, but this is just accessories, and can be bought anywhere. I will definite buy one of those in som time......I think... Depends on the next generation of ROMs from the gurus here at XDA
Greetings from Norway, especially to Tom Codon, Meschle, Bepe, Carty and a lot of other great developers on this forum.

[REQ] ROM with Manila 2D

Why don't cook a ROM with TOUCHFLO2D? Our Diamond could be faster!
Yeah this sounds like a good idea! I would personally prefer a blazing fugging fast 1.93 2D ROM than a sluggish 1.93 3D ROM... (Black Diamond theme of course )
i agree with you...
i use a ROM without TF3d (french Diamondstone rom) and i install Opal version of TF2d (found on this forum) and it work very fine, much faster tan the 3d version
maybe someone can try to cook this way.
it looks good on your device? since its qvga... or did someone edit it to work on vga?
o yar a faster diamond
just what i need..
the 3d is nice and all.. but after a while.. gets tired looking at it.. and besides the 2d version aint that bad...
and the analog clock is so much cooler...
Is there a VGA Version out?? I thought only for QVGA devices
I think 3d is fast enough and great for day-to-day usability?

Here's a VGA version. It's uncluding some bugs, but enough to try it.
You need to install the TFLO 2D version 0.9 or older!

You can edit the xml file and the images to customize.

thanks a lot bro!
It would be great to have ROM with TF2D! it will result in much faster diamond, extra stogare and memory.
hope one of our great developers will work on it.
cheers.
Faster perhaps. More boring and a step backwards, definitely! With so many super-quick ROMS for tf3d (Swift, Swtos etc), why would anyone want to do this? Too much time on your hands? ;-)

Because different people have different preference. Some prefer snappy performance before eyecandy, tf2d over tf3d, windows xp over vista...
While the new cooked ROMs definetly are faster than stock, the same cooked ROM with tf2d instead would be even faster while offering the same functionality.
The ultimate ROM!

I agree completely! With that kind of speed (like with the tf2d) this ui would be an IPhone killer...
The only thing I am wondering about is, that nobody (as far as I have seen) yet inlcuded a proper SMS (only) Tool (like in iContacts, but without the contacts), because the WM5 version is indiscribably bad..
To bring it to a point (and I hope this is not too far off this topic): Why has nobody yet created a rom that comes standard with S2U2 installed and something like iContact (which directly replaces all the WM5 contacts and the links i.e. from tf3d / tf2d) and a Programs/settings views like in iPhonez(but only that part not the whole iPhonez, we want a killer, not a copy!). and last but not least something like a proper touch-fileexplorer like resco explorer2008(i simply mean the size of the file entries and a little revamping of the original fileexplorer, maybe there is one already?)
If a ROM like that would be put together well (and one of these capable cooks are able to include these tools much deeper and better than when a user installs them into the ROM) we could finally beat the iPhone! (I know its not about beating the iphone, but fact is that the diamond has one nice tf3d tool on top of the same old WM5 which in its original rom is slaggishly slow and is then supposed to beat the well thought through iPhone?? Of course not! there is no alternative that brings the same quality of UI - YET, BUT:
All these great programmers that took their time to create good apps (like iPhonez, iContact, ThumpCal, S2U2, etc..) if (and I know it probably is a challenge to get their agreement to put their stuff in a rom) this would be put togethere into one well made rom, the diamond would be unbeatable!!!!!!
Then get this ROM a bit known as the iphone-killer and this will be picked up in the public a bit more.. finally it could turn out that all these nice programmers get a big bunch of money so that their stuff or a version of it will be used as a permanent part of a stock rom and we all are happy because we will have the best phone ever, made by the people for the people! WHAT A VISION! and its realistic, too! Let's go and use the synergy of all the great cooks and developers and create the SUPER-ROM!!!!
I am ready to pay good developer 50USD to include the existing tools into a personalized ROM, just to have something that prooves the idea and convince the guys to give their permission. (and also to have that myself! )
So who wants the ultimate ROM!!
avers can u give us all the edited files of the tf2d vga u are using ? thanks

but i for sure am an old artemis freak, even having tried an iphone 2g the last week, I honestly have to say meschles vanilla 4.02 is the one and only fast, stable and simply usable rom i have tried upto now - all m2d roms are sluggish in comparison- espacially when runnung tomtom7, all wm 6.5 rom-regardless of the radio rom used- drain my p330 within 2days, where under vanilla4.02 i run a solid 7 days routine...
so as i posted in my plea-thread-- any bare 6.5 rom upto beating 4.02?
greetz
Nice rom!
This rom is better than others windows 6.5...
Sorry for my english!
This Rom has lovely looking menus and window effects, but this contributes to heavy use of RAM and some slow-downs. Unfortunately, changing a theme seemed to lose these lovely menus.
The Titanium plugin works well, particularly with a changed background.
A good keyboard and dialler.
Shame about the old camera.
Lovely Icons.
The Honeycomb programs selector will take some getting used to, if it does become the Standard.
This could have been a contender to DJ M2D WM6.5 5.0 UL if it wasn't for RAM issues and slow-downs.
