I'm not sure if this is the right category to post in, but I need help with my keyboard's auto complete. I have an Alltel HTC Touch with Windows Mobile 6 proffessional.
For some reason, my auto complete is locked onto the Letter Recognizer and another keyboard I downloaded, Flexslide. Auto complete is set to off in the input options, but it won't come off of these two keyboards.
Does anyone know of any way I can fix this? Any help is appreciated!

Before you ask, I did use the search function. I did not see anything after a few searches. I apologize if the answer is here and I didn't search hard enough but I am about to board a plane
I have NFSFAN's 6.5 rom on my htc touch. Everything works great except I cannot get word completion to disable. I turn everything off under Settings/Personal/Input but it remains enabled. I have even let it save the settings and restart.
The reason I want it disabled is 75% of the time it does not take the first word (or entire sentence) unless i click the keyboard, click the input area and then start typing. It's very frustrating.
Any known fixes?
I suspect that this is a general bug with the current versions of WM 6.5 that are floating around. I have this problem with this rom, but my friend who has a diamond and a completely different wm 6.5 rom also has the same problem. Perhaps I'm wrong, but it happens to both of us a lot.
does anyone have the qwerty reg settings, now i no longer have that function all i have is regular keyboard or when qwerty is selected i have just numbers...thanks
Anyone???? I dont want to Hard reset my phone again
i had same problem today. soft reset no help. i went to opera and tried to type an address in and the keyboard came back. but after that it happened again. Possible problems: I used the HDtweek to get my word completion restored. I am also running SPB mobile shell. Trying to get a handle on it.
I have also seen this twice
I have also seen this twice.... had to restore from backup to fix.
Thanks,
Just typing in the address bar in Opera fixed the keyboard. Did this yesterday and I's still good. I'll post again if the keyboard disappears.
I used Mobile reg editor to get word completion back now I have all kinds of crazy keyboard problems. I am currently using Resco Keyboard but would still like the one that comes with the T-Mo TP2 if anyone has those Reg keys available...Tj
here is the tread in the tmobile forums for the keyboard settings. I used hdtweek to reset the setting according to this thread. It also has some reg settings you might want to look at. I hope it helps.

THANK YOU!!! Got it back to somewhat normal (no word completion )...Tj
No problem. And yes I like this keyboard also. I just discovered you can type numbers by just holding down the top row-no need to shift to the number keyboard. On my Tilt, I used Zoomboard. I loved that keyboard because you could slide left or right if you hit the wrong key. I might go back to that once I get the Touch Pro 2 down pat.
TrekkerJmm and Record1,
Both of you "fixed" the loss of the TouchPal Keyboard (the one where you hold the key till the number is highlighted) by undoing the word completion reg change. No way to have your cake and eat it to. I have lost this keyboard three times now (fixed with Sprite Backup Restore) and ended with that softkeyboard that has the p and w and the numbers only.
TIA,
Actually I have the touchpad keyboard and word completion. However, I still get the disappearing keyboard every once in a while. (I think it happens when I use internet explorer.) when this happens i simply open Opera and type anything in the address bar at the top and the keyboard magically reappears. It stays good for awhile. I think its internet explorer that breaks it, but im not sure. I use opera most of the time anyway. As I stated earlier, I used HDtweek and the known good instructions in the Tmobile forum the get word completion working again.
The disappearing keyboard is rare now so I'm living with it for now.
I finallt got my wifi connections working by changing my security to wpa/psk so I got that sorted out.
Was wandering if a couple things worked.
1)Sound?? Any sort what so ever.
2)The light on the keyboard..Is there a way to turn it on( ) or is it just not working yet??
3) The number keys on my keyboard are just soooo out of wack..No numbers and the symols it put's out don't corrispond with the symbols on the keys themselves..Does that have something to do with the provisioning or is that not working as well??
I'm using [MJG]Rhod.2.2.BLAZN.072110 if that makes any difference.
Hoping for some answers and I appreciate it.

You should definitely read thru the posts for everything you install first most devs tell you what works and what doesn't, but...
No sound in android for touch pro 2( meaning no matter what build of android you install, no matter who developed it atm there is no external speaker sound) other than in speaker-phone I think
Atm you cannot control your keyboard lights thru android, nor the hard keys you have on your phone, so make sure that both turn off before you run android off your SD card to avoid battery drainage.
As for the number key situation I have no idea, Im running 2.2 froyo by project android and I have no problems whatsoever with my keys...
and actually i just saw your forum siggy, if you have a tmobile touch pro 2 you need to get the fix for your keyboard. Search is your friend.

You need to read a bit more bud.
1. No
2. No (Turn it on before booting android and it will stay on 100% of the time while android is on but this is the only workaround currently)
3. Read up on FAQ about your startup.txt file. There is a cmdline that controls what keyboard you are using.
I appreciate the help folks. It's a shame about the sound tho..
Anyway..Found out my problem with the buttons..I was thinking that the provisioning dealt with the network, so I installed the cab for AT&T..That one didn't work(keyboard issues) so I installed the T-Mo cab and it's all fixed. Works like a charm.lol
As for the keyboard light..Mine just works. I didn't think I turned anything on in WinMo prior to booting, and it works like it should(slide on/off)..or at least I think it does..lol
USB connection
Hello all,
Can it be possible to connect the phone via USB connection (for instance to a Mac computer)? I want to install my own Android app and I tried to connect the phone via USB and it doesn't work. Is there other way to install apps?
Best regards,
Arturo

just put the .apk in your andboot/androidapps folder, and when you use the update tool, before you choose run android, go to meu>apps and make sure you app is checked in the lil box next to it. to transfer it to your phone you could get a bluetooth dongle for your computer, transfer it that way, or upload it to a filehosting site.from your computer n then download it from your phone
Hello all, I have a tilt 2 with energy rom, if that matters, and my slideout keyboard number is off, 1 through 9 and 0 is on the top row instead of where they are suppose to be, where 456 suppose to be on Y U I, and 789 suppose to be on H J K and 0 suppose to be on N. Please help. Thank you in advance!
It for sure matters. You need the rhodium ATT keyboard cab to change it.

I think that will do it for you.
Thank you! Will try it out soon and let you know
Just got done installing it in, thanks Thresher. Would you by any chance know if there was a solution for the sms sent lag?
Try reading the FAQ for the Energy ROM. All you need to do go to Start>Tools and run Carrier Provisioning. Select AT&T, and then soft reset. The keyboard will be configured correctly.
The keyboard cab that Thresher suggested work great. I don't have at&t, its unlocked for t-mobile. The keyboard is fine now but theres a lag in sms sent and going back to the inbox option.
I just finally upgraded from my Evo to the S3, and the first thing I hate is the keyboard. I'm used to any and all keyboards from my rooted Evo and previous android versions/gingerbread keyboards/etc. I believe I have the correct settings enabled for spell correction/etc, but words never get fixed. Any idea why?
For example, typing 'gane' wont switch to 'game' as before. 'Ne' to 'me'..'soneone' to someone and so on. I find it hard to believe I have to manually select every word I want corrected..
