TomTom deleted/ How to get back?

I accidentally deleted TomTom from my unit. Its not on the discs that came with the unit. Anyone know how to get the program back?:

hard reset maybe?

install Total Commander (freeware), type in the address-bar "extended_rom" and now u can see some .cab files,.. click on the MP_ttn.cab, and the installation will start
have fun ;-)

I suggest this would be illegal... no, nust install the one from your ext_rom using total commander and you are good to go. I did it that way too

your probably right about this illegality---i was just curious. By the way as you see in my signature I officially own a tt6 version.

I will give it a try soon. But i expect to end up like you... plus it's a UK-Rom and I prefer german ones
PS: eek, This Ext-Rom includes TomTom6 cabinets, hehe

Thanks! this resolved my problem too

tom tom 6 wont recognise inbuilt gps on orbit, can someone please show ther settings that they have in the gps settings in settings and what to do in tom tom to get it going, thankyou

There is the possibility to edit your gps-settings:
Add the Key "GPS Settings" to "HKLM\ControlPanel" and assign a DWORD called "Group" with the value 2 to it. After a Softreset you should find the GPS-Settings Icon in you Settings-Manager in the Connection-Tab.

Go to www.tomtom.com and click on support. Then do a search for P3600. You'll see a January update - that's 6.03.

Is it also possible to install the new version on the storeagecard?
During the installation i was not asked where i want to have it...

Because it goes straight to the phone storage,I had never the chance to install it somewhere else and I don not know how to do it.

The amount of memory that TomTom uses on your phone is minimal. All the large files are on your SD card.

To miniSD
You can move directly the folder to the storage card and change the .lnk to the new path.
Everything works ok (I have it like this).

CAB to install Office Mobile 2007 onto your storage card (free up some device memory)

I wanted to free up more device memory, but the Office 2007 CABs (I could find) would only install to the device. So I edited the CAB I had, to give you the choice (device or storage card).
It seems to work OK. The shortcuts, on the start menu, weren't pointing to the new location... but I think I have fixed that. Not sure what happens on non-english devices.
The bugbears I have found are;
Hitting the new button in Word generates an error. I think it is because the default template is in the wrong place. So if anyone can shed some light on that, I would be grateful. It's not a biggie tho' I just created a document called "blank.doc" and open that instead.
And the File Associations are pointing to the old location. I edited the registry changes in the CAB, but I screwed up (it couldn't handle the space in 'Storage Card'... hmmm). So I went back to the earlier version, and you have to edit the file associations manually. #
Is anyone willing to lend me a brain cell here?
I'm sure someone will come along now and say, "there is already a CAB that does this".... but I did spend two days looking for one!

there are 3 cases for for software on PDA devices:
applications that are cooked with the ROM installed on your device (in this situation you can not uninstall these applications)
applications that installed as a part of the post-flash customization.
applications that you install yourself
for the 2nd and 3rd situation you may go to "Settings/[Tab: System] Remove Programs" if you want to know which programs are installed on your device and from there you can uninstall the programs that you don't need.
I hope this was a kind of useful for you and it answered your question.

other than changing to another ROM (without Office cooked in)... there's a fair choice!

I'll just point out that this cab breaks the finger friendly menus in 6.5.3 File Explorer...

I found a french cab now it's ok !

Anyone have a problem with the appstore app being in the wrong language?
My phone has an ENU rom with the location language set to dutch and the app the Appstore installs by itself is French (only giving me french flavored Descriptions too it seems).
I haven't found any complaint or contact information for the App Store either, so reporting this trough other contact methods I do know would take even longer then usual.

Its pissing me of big time, not just form MS but from all these lazy asshole companies.
I'm Belgian Flemish and I'm sick and tired of companies auto pointing Dutch speaking belgians to french flavored applications.
Not only am I dutch speaking, but around 60% of belgium is dutch speaking with only around 33% of Belgium speaking french. So the logical default would be to give Dutch to belgians in general rather then French.
I wonder what would happen in the US if they gave everyone Spanish apps by default instead of English ones.

Installation problem
After installing (which appears to be succesfull), I get nothing! Where am I supposed to be looking, as there's no new icon in my start menu

Don't worry about that last post - I've solved it.
For some reason, the CAB file a few posts up doesn't work. The ZIP file in the second post downloaded it and installed it correctly, and it's working now.

So anyone out there can find a way to download any app from market place direct to your storage card ?....

Microsoft has put in the requirement to have have every software translated to the countries' own language, before it can be put on Marketplace. In some countries, there are very few applications offered to the public because of this.
Is there any way to make Marketplace 'think' we're from a different country?

I have TP 2 with windows 6.5 and I can not get my device id number from "ttnavigator bif" file.Its saying that "no app associated with ttnovigator"
Tomtom definately instaled.
Maube someone had that prob before.

What kind of problems?
1. Problems recognizing installed maps?
2. Problems with bluetooth, or BTTray errors on bootup?
3. Problems with hardware keyboard recognition in TomTom?

Just copy the .bif file to your PC, and open it with notepad.
