I've read elsewhere that other folks have had the same problem, but not found anyone who's found a fix:
I use Opera Mobile (paid for!) to browse, and it has an infuriating habit of locking up for 10-20 seconds at a time. I suspect that may be caused by lack of available memory for it, but have no idea how to adjust that.
Someone mentioned on another thread that they had tweaked memory allocations to speed things up - any clues on how to do that for the Orbit would be appreciated.
Or if anyone knows of a fix for the "Opera Freezing Bug", I'd be grateful!
Hi
I have the same issue with this. I don't think this is a memory problem. I still have plenty left when running opera.
It copuld be down tro the processor not being able to keep up as it is only a 200mhz, and when you move up and down it eventually catches up.
Other than that it's anybodys guess i think
Cheers Dave

sometimes with no actual reason when i start up IGO8 i get this message , ANY SOLUTION?
i have searched many threads but with no luck every thread says to disabled the TF3D or soft reset or clean ram utility (all solutions are a waste of time) , i am searching for a diffrent solution ...
You have to disable push internet and go through the steps to clean out as much of the redundant services as possible. That will fix the problem and make it run better. If you don't do this you have to reboot every time you want to use iGo.
There are a number of HTC default services that don't need to be running. You'll have to search sorry I forgot all of them
the message apears even though the push internet is off , which services do u refer to?

What he's saying is iGO is a pig and needs hoards of ram to run. On my Kaiser I've found that iGO will generally run at will but will crash later unless there is lots of free ram and not much stuff running. It's a very nice nav program and display, but it's just not robust.
//ok thank
igo8=ram eating program=no solution;
I had the same issue with my unbranded TP2, very annoying.
I seemed to have fixed it by merely disabling Push Internet - didn't use it anyway. Since then, no more virtual address errors, no reboots needed.
Mind you, i do prefer IGO as the favoured GPS app, it is well thought out and simple to use....
If that fails, try TomTom, works well on TP2, as does Garmin.
Hope this is helpful.
I asked this elsewhere, but does the TP2 have the same annoying lag as the TouchPro with TT or iGO8? Where it'll place you about 5 seconds behind where you actually are.
Also, does it display full screen or because of the high resolution screen, it doesn't display full screen?
since i got my TP2 on 5/17 ive been seeing this message while browsing the web in either internet explorer or opera 9.7 (except worded differently). i have gotten this error on all roms i have flashed whether 6.1 or 6.5. its very annoying because once this message shows up in either browser websites stop functioning properly and i dont know why it even says it because my ram usage is in the 60s or low 70s when it does show up. i am now officially fed up with this error and want to know of a way to get rid of it, i can hardly get anything done on the web because of it and it will happen despite whatever else i have in the background (nothing). any ideas?
Could you be out of storage memory not ram memory?
Maybe after you browse for awhile your cache, cookies, and history eat up too much of your storage memory and give you the error. Try lowering your cache settings in Opera or freeing up some storage memory.
i have about 50mb of storage free so i doubt it would all run out after being on FB or any other site for a couple mins, but ill try the cache thing tho i dont think thats it
an old thread but my latest problem...
Any clues please guys?
Soft reset (the pin next to the SD slot under batt cover) didn't fix it?
Never heard of this, but I honestly never really ran WinMo much on my RHOD .
There is a memory limit for one process (32MB, unsure). So if you force Opera to load an oversized website such a error could occur.
Although I never had such a problem so this is only my theoretically guess.
Hi, i'm facing a really annoying problem.
My browser takes ages to load a page. I mean, the top div gets loaded very fast (as you expect) but the rest takes about 1 minute or more to load the rest of the page.
I have this strange problem only if working in my notebook. With my mobile everything works like a charm.
Is someone in the same situation?
Is XDA doing some maintenance stuff or something?
Thanks
Was having this issue yesterday during work but today it seems to be gone. Could have been an issue with something down the line (DNS, regional routing, whatever) that just caused a temporary slow down.
Short answer is no you aren't alone. Should be gone by now or soon.
I hope so, thanks
i have the same problem
I think I found a solution (even if it is not absolute).
Go to you profile page and set the sytle (at the bottom of the page) at xda classic
Now try to navigate... it is as fast as it should be.
At least, it is for me!

Yesterday in particular the site was slow because we had processed some upgrades that didn't go quite right. Things should be good now.
Thanks for the reply.
I'm still having the problem.
However, I tries my "solution" on another machine, and it works too.
If it can help other user, you can add to FAQ main page.
I hope it's only a matter of time as the 2010 theme is really pretty. The classic one is just a little bit... old-fashioned.
so many background scripts running, because too much function and too much rules.
post limit to access certain service, wth....
i got bugs to inform the developer but ending to make several useless posts here first.
xD
If xda very slow, be patient!
works well for me
I think i didn't get your point...
I just tried to understand what is happening here...
I also found out that changing theme speed-up the loading process, and i want to share this with other user that are having these same issue... if you want to wait ages to check a page you are free to do so, but please leave other do what they prefer!!
It occurred to me quite often in the last months but, probably, I was "great" enough to decide loading xda when they perform the maintenance of the forum...
Today i noticed a very slow loading here...
I checked my ping and noticed that everytime i open XDA my ping goes from 20ms to 1500-2000, even after not loading any threads and leaving the PC alone for many minutes. When i close XDA, ping goes down to normal.
Please fix it. Maybe some buggy ads or something else.

I think it's media.xda-forum-com... My browsers goes stuck right there.
also cdn.viglink.com is blocking for a long time
Can you please fix it?
Fix available (at least for me):
change DNS in your router config to the ones offered by opendns...
Now everything works like a charm.
i shouldn't have posted this here! just notice what section I was in (found this thread in a search)
i'm using ie9 and when i post a reply(not quick reply) and I try to click my mouse pointer in between letters of the words I type, the mouse pointer is not displayed.
Hello, this is the first time I've started up a thread thingy or whatever you call it, so please go easy on me if I've butched this up or anything. I did a fair amount of searching before deciding to post this by the way.
The browser on my Telus variant seems to lose its pleasent smooth pinch zoom after using it for a while. At first I thought it was caused by switching the UA to Desktop, but tossed that idea after I experimented with the Mobile UA and recieved the same result. Then, I thought it could be because of the Kijiji website for the cause, and tossed that idea too after it happened on this very forum. Right now I'm almost convinced that it could be because the browser starts taking up lots of RAM, because everytime the issue starts, the amount of space it rakes in is over 140mb. This is probably wrong though... I don't have any technical knowledge on this really.
My question: Is there any fix for this issue? Or is anyone else experiencing this?
Thanks
i don't have lag 99% of the time
and the only time it lags is on those really bad pages with tons of ads and flash bombarments, or bad java scripted pages
kijiji loads fine no problem, however ebay some pages are a killer, but the same page also kills my browser on the PC, so at least that's consistent and you know it's a specific page or site issue an not the phone
When I open multiple tabs, ranging from 4-15 in either the stock or Opera Mobile, while switching tabs the phone hangs for about a second and everything gets closed and the phones does its initial loading(like it does when you switch on the phone everytime)....
This bug always makes me mad as all the tabs get closed and I have to open them again
Anyone else experiencing it????? Any possible fix to it??? Or does it happen because the RAM gets all used up????
I have encountered this bug in every Rom(Sense and CM7) I have used.....
that's not a bug, you're phone is crashing because you have to many tabs open
the memory allocated to the browser process might not support so many tabs and it crashes.
If you're in CM7 there should be a setting named 'Java VM heap size' or something, it usually defaults to 32MB, try to increase that to 48MB. See if it helps.
