Samsung i780 - restoring BT DUN profile problems - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

I'm struggling to restore BT Dial-Up Networking profile in my i780. I've used known solution for this, but it doesn't work exactly as it should.
After changing HKLM\Software\Microsoft\BTHATCI\Port from '5' (default) to '3', I've managed to get to the stage, where DUN profile is recognised by other devices (my Nokia N810 Internet Tablet in particular), but when I try to actually connect - it fails. However, it seems like really close to the definitive connection - there is BT communication between devices, even Data Call Manager in i780 indicates 'general.t-mobile.uk' data call, while N810 is still waiting for connection and eventually dies.
Because I've had DUN working excellent between N810 and HTC Kaiser, powered by dutty's WM6.1, I've manually checked all DUN-related registry settings in Kaiser and i780 - they are all the same. The only different bits that are relevant here, are \Windows\atcmdint.dll and \Windows\bthatci.dll files. I've tried to copy them across from Kaiser to i780, but I can't - as they are protected by the system.
I don't have any other ideas what could cause such problems. DUN service is detected, I can initiate connection, but I can't get it finally connected. I think mentioned above files are the very last resort in this case. Is there any way of extracting system-protected files from \Windows directory? Or maybe someone has it saved somewhere and could send them out? Thanks in advance for any advise.

I've managed to figure out that phone doesn't respond to ATDT command. It takes AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","general.t-mobile.uk" initstring correctly (hence Data Call Manager shows APN), but when it comes to ATDT*99# - it fails with the error. I've also tried to dial ATDT*99***X# where X=0-6 but also no luck.
Any suggestions?

TOMTOM GO and WM6 (DUN)

Microsoft are going to release WM6 with the ability to enable (DUN) for legacy devices, I.e. TOMTOM GO series... are there any cooks interested in releasing a ROM with this option enabled?
this would be great. if this was done i would have nothing to complain about with wm6
Same here, it's just the final thing I need for a perfect WM6 ROM.
One vote more
Same, here. I also tried to use DUN on WM6 with TomTom Go. But apparently WM6 lacks DUN support in Bluetooth Stack.
Does anyone have a fix for this or is there any good WM6 Rom out there with Bluetooth DUN support?
Yes-Sir-Eee
I would love to see that, my 910 won't use the services without DUN...
I was browsing earlier and I think I saw a .cab file in the Wizard forums for PAN support in Windows Mobile 6, however I don't think that anyone said that it worked.
Really?
Point me in the right direction & I'll happily give it a whizz...

I downloaded the CAB from here, and installed on my Wizard. It says it installed but does not work.
Here's some more info:

I can confirm this fix
Used trinity files posted by MuN on the above thread.
heres what i did
Installed cab - soft reset
pasted all files from zip in windows folder - soft reset
then unpaired tomtom 910 and reparied, hey presto it found DUN support
Perfect, have been waiting for a fix for this
I've run the .cab and copied the files into the Windows directory, however I'm having a real headache trying to configure a data connection.
Which device to choose for TomTom GO 910?
@the.drone
I followed your instructions and now my TomTom reports that my phone has DUN capability. Problem is HTC TyTN or HTC Hermes ist not listed as phone in the phone list and automatic configuration does not work.
Can you please give instructions which phone to use or how to configure the data connection manually? Because DUN support which can't be configured is as good as no DUN support.
Thanks a lot.
Marc
it just worked first time automaticaly with mine, maybe i was just a fluke but it found the data coonection first time on 3g
How can I find out my TomTom thinks my phone has DUN?
Edit: when I try to add my TomTom to my Hermes, it only brings up a handsfree tick box, when in Windows Mobile 5 I think it also brought up two additional tick boxes. Any ideas if this is following the path to success of if I've screwed up?
Double post.
DUN Doin' it
Will be giving it a go first thing in the morning.
Cheers for the update, will post results....
Bargain!
You eff-ing ROCK... DUN on WM6.
My TomTom 910 loves you!!
Hoo-haa!
How did you get it to work?
So can someone share how they did it?
I followed the instructions and it now finds my ttg 300, and says it has the services - but can't set up the actual DUN connection either manually or automatically!
Any ideas?
Matt
I really am sorry to be a pain in the butt, but I'll outline what I've done.
1). Paired my Hermes up with my TomTom 910.
2). Run the .cab.
3). Soft reset.
4). Copied the files into the Windows directory of my Hermes via the storage card.
5). Soft reset.
6). Repaired my Hermes and TomTom 910 after having deleted the previous connection. At this point it says "The following features were found: Hands-free calling, Wireless data connection, Phonebook".
At this point I try and setup a data connection that it hits the fan. It's really annoying because it feels like I'm falling at the final hurdle. I also wondered if I was struggling because of an issue with connecting to the T-Mobile network, however am I right in thinking that mccreath's using a T-Mobile GPRS contract SIM connection?

What is Blue tooth supposed to do?

Bear with me......
I have WM6 running, but when I connect to my laptop via BT it says there is only the Serial connection available, now I am being thick? As I cannt get the laptop to send things via BT OR the phone to recieve via BT, by things I mean photo's and vid clips etc etc, but always fails.
I have paired them repeatedly and deleted connections and made connections and everything.
So I am at a loss, am I missing somthing obvious or is it more problematical? I guess it could even be the XP BT stack, but thats next on the list to check.
Hints, tips and advice as ever greatfully received
Deech
Hi, sounds like a very annoying problem, i can only think of 2 things:
1. make sure that 'recive all beams' is ticked on your PDA, this sets the location etc for when you recive files in bluetooth i think.
2. uninstall your bluetooth in XP and reinstall it to another USB port.
I hope this helps, i cant think of much else to help
ummm.... 'receive all beams' would be infrared.. not bluetooth
install schap's advance config tool (should find it under the cab collection thread) and there's an option to enable OBEX file transfer. After you do that on your trinity and soft reset, you should be able to send/receive files
Thanks will do.
I wonder if I should upgrade the software too? I have MinRus's original WM6 onboard atm, or perhaps it's LVS's..... I really ought to pay attention, and now I see that there are loads of "newer" ones out and about.........
/me goes to ferret around the fora
"ummm.... 'receive all beams' would be infrared.. not bluetooth"
no it's both
that's what i thought too, its for both.
when i send a file it's : "beam file" you see your infrared and bluetooth connections.
and maybe this: visible for others in bluetooth options? will help ?
check the same for your laptop maybe...

Dash and ModemLink App

Greetings,
Does the ModemLink application support the T-Mobile Dash? I am attempting to use it with WM6 over USB, but when I attempt to activate it I get an error stating "Unsupported or Unavailable connection."
I have found several articles detailing very specific steps for creating a USB ModemLink connection, but none of them have resolved my issue. I have reset my phone to factory defaults to ensure that no settings are to blame. I need my phone to appear as a literal Modem (more specifically a GSM Modem) to the computer, capable of using HyperTerminal to issue AT Commands to the Phone.
Dozens of Google searches into this, the only info I have been able to find is that ModemLink tries to connect over Com8, and apparently Bluetooth connections also use Com8. I can see in the registry (HKLM\Software\Microsoft\ATCIUI) a 'Connections' entry of 'USB|COM8:|' which would lend credibility to that bit of research. However, I have disabled both activesync and bluetooth entirely, and the error persists.
Any help on this would be great. I intend to try modifying the Reg to use Com6 as a basic test, but other than that I am at a loss.
Thanks in advance.

WM6.1 SIP but my GPS does not workany more

I have enabled the SIP client (BTW it works but very limited) following the instructions in general threats.
After reboot and some tests, I've realised that the GPS dosn't work any more.
Basically it is not detected by any SW (TTN, Google, AutoGPS, ..)
Any suggestion?
I JUST went throught the same thing 2 days ago - I had MS native VOIP working on my 6700 and didnt notice a problem obviously, as it has no GPS.
Here's whatcha gotta do:
You wont be able to remove the Sleuth's VOIP program - it will always fail. You need to open the cab on your desktop, extract and examine the setup xml and manually remove the files from the windows dir on your device and reg entries contained therein.
Or hard reset... whichever is easier for you.
The problem file is dnsapi.dll, but you wont get GPS back until you regedit and remove the files.
THEN, you can have your cake and eat it too, by installing THESE files.
Use SIP config to setup your provider.
Use Dontsleep Wifi to prevent the phone from auto sleeping during voip calls.
Use AutoAudioRoute/AudioRoute to push the audio to the earpiece instead of the speakerphone/Headphones, as is the case with all VOIP clients in WM6.
Hope this helps!

wmwifirouter screwed up TP2

Well, I wanted to be able to share my phones internet connection with my laptop via WiFi, so I downloaded the HTC Wifi Internet Sharing cab and installed that, but it didnt work. My laptop would not connect for some reason.
So, I tried to download the trial of wmwifirouter, it did its thing, restarted the device, then I set it up and turned it on, and tried to connect, and it did the same thing, which leads me to beleive this is a problem with my PC and it's wireless configuraiton and not the phone.
So, I go to reinstall wmwifirouter and then I get a warning about bttray.exe not being a valid win32 application. Soft reset, and the same warning pops up, followed by an SMS error message saying "The message could not be sent, Retry/Cancel?" and after hitting cancel ~25 times that finally went away.
Looking at my com manager, bluetooth has been totally disabled.
I read some into on ppcgeeks with the same bttray issue and it said to look for two DLL files in the windows folder, and either delete or rename them using Resco. Those files werent present, I had nothing to delete. I beleive those are TomTom files, I didn't try to install TomTom yet, it was wmwifirouter that caused this issue.
So, anyway, I had to do a hard reset and use Microsoft myphone service to restore my phone.
Just curious if anyone else has had this happen with wmwifirouter on the touch pro 2? Was there another way for me to fix this other then the hard reset (Just so I know for the future)?
I use wmwifirouter and it work great! i get speeds of up to 2meg with a touch pro 2! i put the rar folder in the micro sd and instaled the program on the card and worked fine!
I had the same type of issues, WMWifiRouter would not work or uninstall, and initally HTC's Wifi sharing would not work. I had to hard reset, install Assasins Lament Certs, now the HTC Wifi sharing works well. AssisinsLament has both the certs and Wifi sharing together. Good Luck.
I have used WifiRouter with my HTC Fuze and now my HTC Tilt 2 with no difficulty. Everything works flawlessly...I would try to contact WifiRouter regarding to you issue. They are pretty good of responding to your questions regarding to thier product.
