Dell Axim X50 Upgrade Problems - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hi.
I recently got a refurbished Axim X50 midlevel. It came with rom A01 for WM2003. I grabbed A05 from the Dell site and installed it. Everything worked fine, the computer told me the update worked successfully and the PDA was reset.
However, when it reset, it froze at the screen that shows DELL right in the middle. I gave it a good 15 minutes, but still nothing.
So I got into the SD loader and tried to upgrade it to WM 5. The bootloader loaded successfully and the image was half way through flashing when I got the update failed message.
At this point, I was suspecting some of the memory was corrupted, because the SD card was fine. I did the diagnostics and everything checked out perfect. Tried to take it back down to WM 2003 A05 and the bootloader flashed, update was successful but again it froze after the hard reset. What's going on, can anyone help? I really started to like this thing!
Thanks

XDA EXEC upgrade wont work - Serial V1.00

I have a problem flashing my O2 XDA exec. After double-clicking the EXE supplied by O2, it now just sits at an unlit screen with "SERIAL v1.00".
I've tried a hard reset (the two dashes and reset), but it still wont come back to life.
Any Ideas?
I had the exact same problem with my Tmobile MDA pro. When you plug in the usb cable the serial should change to usb. If not trying taking the battery out doing a full reset and putting the battery back in then do a soft reset. If you can get to the stage where you see it change to usb when plugged into pc your in bootloader mode still and all is functioning correctly. Try sending the firware update again. I was flashing to the Imate firmware and must have tried about 6 times before it worked. Each time on the pc follow the instructions if it errors and asks for a soft reset, just keep trying. In the end i got the firmware to flash succesfully but coulldnt get out of bootloader mode. So instead I just kept trying Radio 6.0 firmware only and it worked after the 4th time. I did a full reset my MDA Pro rebooted succesfully and ive never been so happy. Good Luck hope your outcome is as happy.

Upgrade freezing during flash

I have a 8525. I had XDA LIVE .20 with hard SPPL and radio 1.34. Was upgrading to LVSW WM6 Pro and upgrading stuck at 68%. Did the recovery and tried to upgrade again where it froze again at 68%. Could get back into bootloader so I tried to upgrade to XDA LIVE .21 and this time it froze at 69%. Did the recovery, got back to bootloader and tried again where it froze at 69% again. Got phone back to bootloader, rebooted computer, and then flashed Cingular 1.34 and everything seemed to work got ROM 1.34 and stayed at radio 1.34. Reflashed hard SPPL, then tried LVSM WM6 Pro again and it froze at 68% again. I'm at a lost. Have done many flashes with my 8525 and many with my SX66 and never have seen anything like this. Anyone have any thoughts?
I thought I might have bricked my device, but I can always get ROM 1.34_shipped back loaded. With all the new tools out there - the big question is: I want to upgrade the ROM, do I put Hard-SPL on or HTC_Hermes_SIM_CID_Unlock_v3 on or both. I was unlocked before but know don't know. The WIKI isn't very clear on this.

Upgrading X50v from 2003 SE to WM6. Help please!!

Hi! I found this forum today, and decided to upgrade my X50v to WM6, from PPC2003SE. I got to the bootloader, and I successfully installed the WM5 bootloader. However, when the WM5 upgrade is done, the ppc won't turn on!! I have followed directions, and just after the upgrade is done and I get the message, i do a hard reset (reset + power), my x50v turns off and... stays off!!
What am I doing wrong???
Thanks for your help guys!!
I can still get to the bootloader...
Hello, I was in your boat an hour ago, so I'll try to help
you need to rename the "K" files with the prefix "DiMa" to "WM50" and that should make them show up in the sd loader. You will need some other SD card reader to do this of course.
they aren't showing up now because your new loader is now looking for the new prefix.
hi have you solved your problem? I have the same problem and my PDA is now laying on the table - not working of course can you help what to do and where can I find the bootloader and other software for that pda? thank you. Flea. please email me: fleateam(a)gmail.com
I can load the SD Image loader, and even run the new wm5 image from the SD card. Everything is done correctly, however when it comes to hard reset the axim, it just turns off and never restart. It is using now the new bootloader since the wm5 bootloader was upgraded successfully.
I'll give it a try by renaming the DiMa files.
After you flashed the boot loader is perfectly normal that your x50v won't turn on. If you correctly flashed the bootloader to the new WM5, your Axim cannot boot WM2003SE anymore. So you have to start bootloader again to upgrade the O.S. ROM section. After that you should have no problem...

Unable to Flash Hard SPL

HI Guys,
I'm trying to update a friends Diamond (Orange branded) However i'm having a problem getting HardSPL to flash on it.
Ive tried the Update utility Freezes at 0% and then after 5 minutes the utility goes into recovery mode and flashing it from Internal Storage, just sticks on 'Loading...' nothing else happens.
Any ideas?
I've tried 1.40 and the unsigned versions of HardSPL... not sure what else to try?
Thanks for any help.
Nevermind - tried the utility from a different computer and it worked ok..

HELP NEEDED with ASUS MeMo Pad 176C!! :(

I got this tablet as a gift yesterday. Booted up fine, I updated all apps. Also rooted the tab which went through smoothly. The problem started after I installed Titanium Backup and froze/uninstalled a lot of system apps. Now the tablet has gone into a boot loop. It starts up, boots fully into the OS, and then restarts after around 10 seconds!
I have tried going into Recovery to do a factory reset, but YouTube videos showing the procedure show a menu which I am just not able to get to.
I have also downloaded the latest official firmware file from ASUS directly. Tried putting that on a MicroSD card and then booting up the tablet, but it does not recognise even that!
Basically, I'm screwed for now! And since it is a gift from the US, I cannot even send it in to ASUS for warranty recovery/replacement etc.
Please HELP!! :crying::crying:
Never mind. I've sorted everything out.
