I have a problem flashing my O2 XDA exec. After double-clicking the EXE supplied by O2, it now just sits at an unlit screen with "SERIAL v1.00".
I've tried a hard reset (the two dashes and reset), but it still wont come back to life.
Any Ideas?
I had the exact same problem with my Tmobile MDA pro. When you plug in the usb cable the serial should change to usb. If not trying taking the battery out doing a full reset and putting the battery back in then do a soft reset. If you can get to the stage where you see it change to usb when plugged into pc your in bootloader mode still and all is functioning correctly. Try sending the firware update again. I was flashing to the Imate firmware and must have tried about 6 times before it worked. Each time on the pc follow the instructions if it errors and asks for a soft reset, just keep trying. In the end i got the firmware to flash succesfully but coulldnt get out of bootloader mode. So instead I just kept trying Radio 6.0 firmware only and it worked after the 4th time. I did a full reset my MDA Pro rebooted succesfully and ive never been so happy. Good Luck hope your outcome is as happy.

I downloaded the Dopod 900 rom, wishing to change my PPC into Traditional Chinese. But after running the no id exe file. It reboot my PPC and said the country ID is not correct.
Afterwards I run the bootloader.exe on JASJAR. And it automactially go to bootloader mode. I'm able to upgrade my PPC rom. But after the cold reboot the system go to bootload mode (ask me to insert serial or USB cable). How can I get PPC work?
you always have to start your device in bootloader mode manually before upgrading.
as you didn't, special bit in the device was set, to start it always in bootloader mode now.
rerun the upgrade with MaUpgradeUtil_noid.exe again. it will fix it.

I got the same problem after upgrade to a new version complately but always still on bootloader mode,I have rerun the upgrade but still got same problem.Help please.

Reflash the Jasjar again. But use the Radio Rom 1.04.02 only. Then do a reset.
Is here nobody who can read?!
Here is the answer how to solve the problem:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=33191
Or if you're unable to open the link:
make the update w i t h o u t any card (sd-card and sim-card) and you'll see: it works. Maybe you've to run the update twice without changing anything!

Hi,
I had a similar problem, system and unit both indicated a successful ROM flash but after the reset remained in bootloader mode ("Serial v1.00).
In the end I did a final JasJar ROM flash, then did the radio only ROM flash and after radio done, a reboot worked.
Maybe try the 1.04.02 radio only ROM flash and see if that works.
Note: during the last two ROM flashes I too had removed the SIM and SD cards.
Note: I had removed the SIM and SD cards for a number of ROM flashes prior to that, so I know how you feel finding out that wasn't the quick fix I read. But try all that in combination.

most of the time reviving a dead universal is easiest with another rom upgrade of the radio flash.
If your universal boots in usb mode (bootloader), I can confirm your universal is dead. Mostly caused by using an upgrade program that was not made for the universal. For instance using a cracked magician upgrade program to force universal upgrades. In most cases this will get you a dead universal which can easily be repaired by doing an aditional radio rom upgrade (even if you already have that radio upgrade)
Hi,
I can confirm that in the 2 instances of bricking my device (unable to get out of bootloader mode) that the radio only upgrade (1.04.02) got it working again.
I've done this for both the JasJar and Qtek ROMs (currently running Qtek).
My unit is a Dopod 900 originally purchased in Taiwan.

Michael
i had the same problem with the QTEK of my principal after I upgraded his ROMs.
(after the hard reset, the pocket remained in bootloader mode).
you can solve this problem in a very simple way:
you have to launch the bootloader installation (BL1.01_RUU_UNI_V.1.2.EXE) from the PC (still connected with the PPC through USB) while the PPC is in bootloader mode (on your display you see "USB > Serial 1.01" or something like that).
then you do a SOFT reset and the pocket boot normally.
very simple.
i hope to be helpful to someone.
Yep, i agree with u parallel666killer, it worked by just reinstalling the bootloader (BL1.01_RUU_UNI_V.1.2.EXE).
I was attempting to change to ookba's 3VO ROM but the operation failed and the ROM did not install. I did get the recovery instructions screen and followed them but the phone did not reset to the previous ROM (NRGZ28's EnergyROM 52409). The phone hangs on the Windows Mobile screen. I have done the following -
1) Followed ookba's recovery instructions and gotten the tri-band screen. However whenever I try to flash back to the T-Mobile ROM (any version) I get Error 260.
2) Followed stylez hard reset instructions and gotten the reset screen but the phone hangs on the Windows Mobile boot screen. A hard reset does not occur.
3) Followed NRGZ28's "In Case Things Go Wrong" instructions and gotten the tri-band screen, however when I try to flash the EnergyROM (or any other non T-Mobile ROM) I get corrupted image errors.
4) I have used jockeyw2001's bootloader but get Error 260
Also, the power button does not turn the phone off. I have to remove the battery to get it to shut down. I think I have tried all the recovery steps I know if. If anyone has a suggestion or solution I would be most appreciative. Thanks.

Maybe its safe to assume you have a hardware issue? Since the initial flash and following consecutive flashes failed, maybe its a bad USB cable? I would try reflashing the shipped T-Mobile ROM from a different PC altogether using a different USB cable. Since your phone gets to the Bootloader (multicolor) screen means it's not bricked. Try different PC and cable hardware...
Will do. I did try another hard reset and the boot screen has sat for over 20 minutes without getting past it.
Or try flashin stock ROM via SD
you must flash to official rom to make any progress at this point. at least thats what i had to do when my computer auto-restarted in the middle of one of my flashes.
Fixed, thanks for the help.
bricked excalibur

Muga, It's also happening to me. I had previous flashes with different roms Kavana's, rose, energy (6.1 release) and everything went well with no problems at all. But a few days ago, I tried to flash my excalibur with the latest release by NRGZ28 (energy rom 6.5) and what I think what happened was that I didn't run the unlock file aplications (since I didn't have to do it in the other flashes, because I already had unlock the phone with the first upgrade) that's the only explanation I can get. At the end, I came up with the frozen screen and I've tried the bootloader steps, original rom installation, hard reset with no succes at all. What I get is the same error you have.
Hi,
I have a Touch Pro2 was flashing custom roms yesterday and after doing a task 29, the device is stuck in bootloader mode. When I flashed a rom either custom or shipped, the screen stays on 0%.
Edit for update : Phone is working again! Don't know how but it just flashed today!! I think I have tried at least 70-100 times before it decides to start flashing!!
Anyone can help to restore my phone, please? I'm really desperate
You tried going into the bootloader, plugin your usb and flash true your pc?
Yes, already tried several times to flash on 2 computers and 1 laptop but screen stayed at 0%. I assume that the problem does not come from the usb cable or the computer, but in the bootloader itself?
A fishy problem.
I'm stuck in bootloader when I restart the phone.
If I rest the phone for a couple of hours i starts as it should, but if i restart it will come into the bootloader and is stuk there.
I can restart as many times as I would like but still stuck. I cannot Hard reset since restarting means I'm in bootloader.
I have managed to connect it to USB port. Performing Task29 with MTTY.
I have reflashed simplicity:s ROM after task 29 with no luck. Still stuck in Bootloader when restarting. then I have to wait for 2 hour with battery disconnected and the phone can start.
anyone who knows how to fix this problem?
thanks
/Ulf
Try flashin a different rom.. go into the bootloader do a task 29, hold volume down after it finishes, but b4 it boots up to get into bootloader again them flash a rom..

Hi
Go www.htc.com, select your country (IMPORTANT STEP!!!), find downloads (should be somewhere at support), download official ROM (it require P/N code, you can find it under battery, important for check ROM compatibility), flash. Should work.
Hi guys thanks for input. I tried both of your solution, but it failed. I now have the official ROM (but not official Hard SPL) And I still have the same issue.
Anything else I can try with?
Look for locking up precedure and go to the vendor if the phone ha warranty.
Hi
I had my S620 aside, haven't used for 3 years.
Now I'm trying to give it to a friend and i need to put a Portuguese rom on it.
I know I've change the stock rom to the 3VO.2.80.092509 and now I want to flash the official portuguese rom.
I've downloaded it (RUU_Excalibur_BRIGHTSTAR_PTB_1.30.514.2_4.1.13.47_02.98.90_Ship Extract) from official rom's page but when I try to flash it, it gives me the Error [244]: Invalid model ID, at 3%.
Well, the rom is for Excalibur, i flashed a rom before long time ago, do i need to update the HSPL ?
What am i doing wrong?
Thks for your help.

Hi
I did what you've told, ran uspl from cid paypass, all good till the screen stayed almost white.
When i tried to install PTB stock rom the flasing frooze at 0%.
Had to unplug the usb cable, and now each time i turn on the pda it goes to bootloader mode everytime.
Tried to flash through sd card all the stock roms i found without success. All the attempts through usb cable didnt passed 0%.
It starts to check the sd contents but then goes straight away to 3 colour bootloader mode without doing anything.
Then i remembered i had to install the original stock rom, which was the BT brand, that i found yesterday.
Now comes the weird part.
First time i try to flash the BT brand rom, it installed the rom (i didnt quite saw the whole process), and when it restarted it self, went again to bootloader mode.
Tried hardreset, tried to flash again, it goes straight to bootloader.
What the hell is going on???????
In my whole flashing history, i had 100% success over 50 flashes, and now its freaking weird.
Can you lead me again?
Thanks for everything.
Greetings
Try this here
ok go back to the original phone stock rom from the service provider and start over. use the usb bootloader mode after run the xda applicationunlocker file and do the cid bypas. then run the utilityupdate from the other rom ( not the one in the cid bypas file in the link) meaning do not click yes to the windows security prompt skip and run the romm u want to use
