Hi
I have a broken glass on my 9090
But i seems that the glass is "glued" to the LCD
or I'm a wrong. It it possible to chang only the touch screen if its "glued"
Where can I find a new LCD screen - best price!
Andreas
Yo.
You may change it - but be carefull -it's really easy to break the glass under little stress while replacing it. Make sure you scrape ALL the leftover glue from/around the frame of the LCD, so that the surface becomes smooth.
You might end up having to do replacement a couple of times (as i have, easy breakage..) - I recommend ordering a couple of those suckers while you're at it -- as practice makes perfect and spareparts are great to have. One week is long to wait when you just cracked the glass a second time while attempting to reassemble the BA...
LCD Digitizers are sold in plenty on our favorite on line auction, just make sure you order the RIGHT DIGITIZER -- there are two types, one made by Sony and the other by Topology. It seems to me that the latter is most common, but check the Wiki for your BA just in case.
BTW: You should NOT pay anymore than 15-25$ for the glass-digitizer (excl. shipping) - usually some tools are included (T6 + scrape). (FYI : Fully assembled digitizer+new LCD will cost you about ~100$)
There's tons of posts all around on this,

(keyword "digitizer"..)
lastly, wiki-link (important one - LCD board identification)

peace and good luck!

Hello all Universal Users, I am Loooking for a Mother board for My Qtek 9000, maybe some one can help me to find one?
Are tey all the same Qtek->I-mate->Dopod...
Many Thanks,
Jean-marc.
All boards are the same, (only different branding, and of course G3/G4 difference)
need parts too !!!
Hello, If you can find a dead uni (with MB ok) we can buy it together , i need a part (little board next to the screen) for my second uni.If you find one, pm me (sorry for english, i'm french).
Good luck for your searches ...
My Mother-in-Law got my Exec wet... arrrgh!!!
so I have a water damaged one (not wet enough to blow the warning stickers though). The damage is only to the screen the M-board is fine & in fact the phone is fully functional unlocked and not subject to an insurance claim (more fool me for not insuring it!). The phone is less than a year old, the case has the usual pocket wear and a couple of tiny dents on the top most centre panel and one of the two little rubber bits by the led’s is missing
The damage is the screen has gone smokey and darkened and does not turn of the light fully as a result the battery life is shortened.
I needed total reliability for business trips to the Far East so I have had to move to another phone for a bit.
I had the whole thing apart to see if I could track the damage and repair it and as far as I can see it is just confined to the ribbons attached to the screen and digitizer. I am happy to break it for spares if you are interested.
Any parts (no guarantee offered) make me an offer – I even have the original box & manuals.
Wouldn't trust the screen or main ribbon - these are now available on ebay.
Happy to advise on dismantling,
Cheers,
Newton

Hi Newton,
Do you still have this machine for parts?

Sony Ericsson X1 Replacement Touch Screen/Digitizer Module
Price: $4.08 free shipping
I just ordered 2 This renders the protection screens useless.
Cheers!
Cool, just have to find out if it is really genuine! You never know, its DX.. If it actually is, bye bye irritating screen protectors.
I will post photos when I receive it. I'm eager to remove the thick plastic cover I use to protect the screen - the touch sensitivity is definitely affected by its thickness.
I doubt this is a genuine part - what's important is to work as such.
DX is slow during christmas and new year season, so you might have to wait a long time for it. Also the hong kong post is slow now
But i am waiting eagerly for the photos!
Hope it will perform well.
i just orderd this one..
http://cnn.cn/shop/sonyericsson-xperia-digitizer-p-6916.html
its working 100% and its oem. only 5$ for shipping. also its really hard taking off the original digitizer/glass. its glued on so make sure you take your time when your doing it because you can break your lcd. also the one i purchased was pre-glued with plastic on it so it was easy to put on.
I doubt there is a difference between these two, considering the price.
OMG, I just buy a piece from eBay for $7 + $3 shipping fee. poor me....mad:

I'm still waiting my order ... dealextreme free shipping, you know
hi.. i am working on a new project with touchscreen..
can any one provide me links where i could buy this module...
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.32335
Here u go. The same link is in the first post.
I've just recived mine, here are some photos. How it works i will be able to tell next week, i think, because I don't think i am able to change it myself.
I'm afraid the cargo camel that brings the goods from hongkong probably has a flat tyre somewhere in the desert... so my digitizer is still on the way.
For anyone that had experience replacing the digitizer, does it involve soldering??
I don't think it needs soldering. I fitted one to my Orbit 2 and that had a similar ribbon like the X1 digitizer. It just has connector that the ribbon pushes into.
This is an excellent screen protector to protect your new digitizer: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.23639
They do not need soldering. Just got done replacing mine with this a few weeks back. Took me about 3 hours. I also purchased this set of tools as well: dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.29544
They are invaluable, if I didn't have them I would have never got past the first couple steps.
I used this tutorial mostly (along with a couple others) to guide my way thru: formymobile.co.uk/xperiadisassembly.php
There are also many other ones if you google X1 disassembly. The only part I F-ed up on was during the removal of the metal trim ring that is glued to the old broken digitizer module. This is very thin. I bent mine in a couple of spots. Use a heat gun to warm it and it will slide right off.
Reassembly went OK. If I remember right something fell out and I couldn't figure out where it went but after looking at multiple guides I figured it out.
Mine works 100%, already ordered another one. I see they also have the actual LCD screen now too at Dealextreme.
Thanks for the info. I think I got some water leak in the digitizer. A little bit of the upper right corner area was not working last week. But the whole touch panel is not working today (already flash stock rom back to make sure it's not software issue). I think I will just buy the LCD+Digitizer in ebay (about $40) and let's see how it goes....
Just want to report back. My touchscreen is back to working with the new LCD+Digitzer. $29 form here: http://www.ezelektronix.com/index.php?target=products&product_id=1872¤t_cat_id=276 which is relatively cheap. Takes 2 weeks for me to receive the package.
Hi all
So I finally got my parcel from AX
Can someone tell how to replace it
Thanks in advance
i changed the Digitizer only.
with help of a heatgun and a sharp knife.
Hi guys,
I remember I also bought a digitizer once for a HTC prophet and the quality was noticeably lower than the original. I lost contrast on screen and had other issues. Is this one exactly the same quality as the original touch screen ?
Dropped my phone on asphalt today and got a big hairline crack across the screen . (Attached pics)
It really hurts cause i always baby this phone and just the rush to get to work and in my car, completely missed my pocket.
The screen is still responsive to touch and seems to be working normal thank god the lcd screen wasnt damaged and the digitizer didn't shatter.
Got a few questions t
1) just wanted to clarify that the digitizer lies ontop the LCD screen?
2) and that is all that needs replacing?(from damage seen in the pics)
3) also mine is branded just HTC(no carrier, so it's international GSM version?)
4) would it matter if i bought a replacement digitizer meant for the at&t version or not?
5) should be getting a one x that had some water damage and is no longer working. would the digitizer from this phone be a viable option for me to use as a replacement or should i just order the part online.( I really want it replaced fast and if i have to order the replacement it will take about a week to 2 weeks to arrive in my country
so apparently i can't attach any urls until i make 10 posts or i'd show u guys the part i wanted to order but its basically just a screen digitizer from ebay with tools needed for about $17.86.(is that cheap, good or expensive price considering the item + tools)
can you guys please search for it on ebay?the title of the post/part is Touch Screen Digitizer Glass Lens Replacement For HTC One X S720 + Free Tools
the link above is the item i'm looking to order for replacement. is it the right part i'm looking at?and would that be all i need or is there anything else i should add?also quality wise would it be top pick or are there any better options available?
Attached some pics also.Advice would be greatly appreciated.
You are unlikely to be able to separate the digitizer and lcd without damaging the LCD.
A water damaged phone may have a water damaged screen.
Search one of the other broken screen threads for more information.
I've replaced several screens on captivate.easiest way is get replacement(LCD+digetizer) from ebay,Google procedure.watch or read as many times as needed to feel confident to take apart phone.the hardest part is seperating LCD from phone(they use adhesive to secure LCD to phone).I used razor to carefully cut adhesive.
Most components are plug&play.just follow guide completely,u should be fine.
My LCD was $85 on ebay.good luck.

I recently shattered the front glass on my Z1C. The display still works, but I get so many random ghost touches that it is unusable. Just wondering if anyone here has replaced the screen digitizer by itself rather than buying the digitizer + LCD screen together. Obviously it would be more difficult, however many posts about replacing both have mentioned the lower quality of the LCD image. Since my LCD still works, it would seem like a better option to use the stock one rather than a cheap knock-off. Not to mention it would be a little bit cheaper (I saw a kit which included glue, UV torch, tools, cleaner, and the digitizer for around $18 US). But on the other hand, with the added complexity comes additional risk that I will screw it up and end up worse off than just living with a duller display.
I’m still on the fence about which way to go here. Quality is subjective, so maybe I’m worrying over nothing and the new LCD would be good enough for me. I’d really appreciate your opinions.
Thanks!
Replace all.
I would suggest you to replace the LCD and digitizer completely. I broke mine in December last year. A small glass crack along the power button side made the top half of the digitizer stopped working. The LCD was fine though. I had to connect a wireless mouse to make a backup, copy some stuffs and use my old phone, while the replacement part came. Bought mine from Witrigs.com for $42 including front housing adhesive and shipping. Repairing was easy. Just heat the front part, lift it carefully. Swap the old part for the new one.
But like you I wanted to separate the glass digitizer from the LCD first. After several attempts removing the glue and the glass, the LCD had burnt spots. Maybe I applied a little too much heat in trying to remove the glass. And the broken glass left some permanent scratch marks on the LCD even after cleaning.
In all, trying to separate the LCD and glass has become very hard since last year. I've been repairing phones and tablets for years, mainly broken LCD or glass or both. From my experience, its better to change the whole part now.
Wish you good luck for the repair. Lets hope your phone lives again!!
same here. its very hard without professional stuff to change the display glass without damaging the touch under it. best way is to buy a new "complete" display module (glass, digitizer, touch) so that u only have to press the felx ribbon to ur phone. then using the glue stripes to fix it (using a hair dryer makes it easier to press it in).
Before the installation test the functionality
Hi there!
Can someone trustfully confirm, that witrigs.com is a good source for parts?
Unfurtunately i broke my LG G4 Glass. Touchscreen and Display are fine, just the glass is damaged. I read on the internet that i should buy the entire display. Is possibile to repair only the glass on this phone? I would save 50 euros

Its a lot harder to put just the glass in it versus the time saved to put entire lcd. I know here in US whole lcd and digi assemblys are under 40$ american
Yes, you can. I've done it several times. The glass is around 15 bucks. You need heatgun, uv lamp and uv glue. Of course there is a guides I. YouTube without glue but with duct tape
While the glass is cheaper to replace in terms of the cost of that part alone, the actual time and effort you have to put into getting ALL of the old glass off the device cleanly and then having to place and mount the new piece of glass is not an easy task. It's actually easier - and it costs more - to buy the entire front display assembly which is the metal chassis of the G4 with the display/digitizer ready to go and it literally just takes a few screws and popping the connectors on 4 ribbon cables to swap the motherboards and other parts.
While some folks are adept at replacing the damaged glass alone, it's honestly not worth it to even attempt if you've never ever done that type of repair before and you could end up making things worse overall, especially if you end up cracking/damaging the replacement glass.
Best recommendation: get the full display assembly and go from there, it's worth the additional expense IMO.

i will second this posters response i have changed both ponels and digitizer glasses and it is extremly hard to change the digis even with knowledge even being careful u run the risk of breaking lcd if ure in the bit least to forceful then u have to replace them both plus wait for the new lcd to come in id spend the exra cash and take the easiest way
