I haven't used the HTC GPS tools that you mentioned, so sorry if this is redundant, but have you verified...
start menu\settings\system\external GPS is set to:
GPS Program Port: COM4
GPS Hardware Port: None
Baud Rate : 4800
Manage GPS automatically: ticked (yes)

Yes, everything that you mentioned was checked frist but no satelite signal in TomTom6. I found after HTC GPS Tools (Niki topics), the test didn't give any result. What is the problem
You don't happen to have an M650, do you?

Thanks for your kindness, but my device is a real HTC P3300. I don't know if it could also be fixed the same way with this
Not sure if you tried the fix in the link above, but wanted to add you could try flashing a different rom just to see if gps functions work in it. I tried a version of a rom and had no activesync capability, but tried a different version of the same rom and it works great. I think sometimes a particular rom and a particular phone do not get along. Trying a different rom might confirm if it's a hardware or software problem for you. That fix above looks promising too.
GPS Tuner
Thanks for your advise. I recently tested a software, GPS Tuner. When open, it showed a popup in french, my ROM is B&Bv5 now,
"Your GPS receiver is not configured yet. Do it now [Configure it Now][Later]"
If I click on [Configure it Now], it seems to work in 2" and block totally my device after. What it means?
I'm not familiar with that, so I don't know. Sorry. Unless someone else has a fix, I suggest hard resetting then flashing the same ROM again. If that does not work then choose a different ROM and see if you have different results.
HELLO DEAR LPZ GO TO VISUALGPSCE AFTER AGREE THEN GO FILE THEN CONFIGURATION THEN UNITS DISTANCE/SPEED=STSTUE AND ALTITUDE/ELEVATION = FEET AND POSITION FORMAT ddd mm.mmmm is all thing correct then ok and enjoy:
Hi all,
I tested VISUALGPSCE but it didn't work either. I retrograde in basic ROM now in hopping my GPS will work

have you tried testing it outdoors?
i know my artemis wont get a fix indoors, and gives the same messages as yours, but works fine outdoors.

Hi, I don't spech well english, I have the Artemis M650 SPV of the ORANGE, UNLOCKED For one WEEK that they are successful to use the GPS with TOMTOM 6, all perfect. Not sò if because of varies modernizations of ROM, hour does not exist the way to make it to work correctly, has tried whichever configuration and whichever program, someone can help me in order to understand if the gps it is DEAD ! Thanks
You can select the inbuilt GPS Receiver if you have version 6,02 or 6,03 of the TomTom application installed, if this option isn't available try Other NMEA GPS Device/ Baud 9600/ Com Port 4 and it should work fine (unless Orange have been messing around with the hardware) - Mike
Thank's but don't work now, the problem is the last week it work fine on TOMTOM with this config : Programs : com 4 ; Hardware : (NONE) 4800 or 9600 ; Access with flag !!! now I see only the orange led ( GPS ) but don't work ( NO GPS DEVICE ) TOMTOM config : Built-in GPS receiver. There is the system to reset only the GPS Chip? Sorry for my English.
Hard reset the device and see if that clears the fault, if not it looks like the hardware has broken - Mike
Great job by TOM, Thanks, but I found some bugs, perhaps just for my device original M650:
I installed TOMTOM 6.030, which worked fine on B&B V3. Now TOMTOM can not find GPS peripheric, can not select com port (screen just blocked). I want to know it just happens to me or others meet the same problem?
lol
Isn't you yesterday that said HTC P3300 and M650 are simillar ??!!
Well, you can see now that's not true !!!
So before to make any comment on the jobs of others, please verify your information !!!
GPS of the M650 and the HTC P3300 aren't the same !!
Ahhhh, now I see! I guess reading this thread was too much trouble?
How you explain my M650 worked very well with B&B V3?; and it worked well also on HTC WWE WM6?
Now I'm back to P800W WWE WM6. Everything is ok, but I really want B&B UI.
But why ignore that so many others did have trouble with M650's and found a solution. The M650 is supposed to use the a-GPS system.
Did you try the solution highlighted in the thread linked above to get B&B 3.7 to work with your a-GPS system?
Well, in fact kulbutor have found the solution, the rom have to be recooked to include the correct driver...

hi gajet! i'm sorry for asking, and i may really just be stupid but.... i don't find the highlighted solution in the thread? please, can you help me out? because at first i thought that the solution mentioned in that thread is for b&b v3 only? i used the link given by kulbutor in the adinitum. but that is for v3 only, am i right?
but how about for v3.7? how do i make my gps working? i don't mind a-gps like boiuo, as long as my gps is working.
thanks a lot for your help!!!
I'm not the best person to ask as;
1, I don't own an M650, I have a HTC Hero
2, My french isn't good enough to actually read the linked thread.
There clearly is a linked file, which would be a WM6 patch rather than specifically for B&B 3, I would expect the patch to work equally as well in B&B 3.7
aje_fr Is probably a better person to ask.
Le GPS ne marche pas sur la v3.7.... Même avec le patch que viens de faire Kulbutor....
Il marche au début mais après un soft reset, plus rien...

Hi all !
I think this forum is the more appropriated to explain my problem.
I've a Orange M650 and GPS work great until last week. Now, the GPS navigation software doesn't catch any satellite ; but the orange led is blinding.
I tried to flash the phone with the touch rom and I've the same problem.
My parameters are :
GPS program port : COM4
GPS hardware port : (None)
Baud rate : 4800
Manage GPS automatically
This parameters worked great under tomtom but today it won't synchronize at all.
Thank you for your help !
There is a problem with the GPS on M650 after flashing another rom. Search the forums for "M650 GPS". There is a patch somewhere. It worked for me, but i still think it's not 100% ok. Better than nothing.
Hi.
Thank for your answer, but I tried several patches (kulbutor, .cab included into Aje's rom, ...), and the result is worst : led doesn't blind anymore
Try flashing the original rom back, if u can find it. If u register on htc.com e-club you can download a rom with windows mobile 6. Unfortunately my artemis seems to have been bought in Italy, so i got a rom in italian. If all else fails, try an authorized service.
I have attached the cabs I installed over one of meschle's touch 4.01 roms. Use both of them.
I've installed SdkCerts and configured the GPS manually in Tomtom and now it works !
Thank you !!!

I have a similar problem. I have been given an old (working) T-mobile Artemis. GPS worked fine - until I unlocked it so that I could use it with my O2 contract. Result - no GPS.
I've checked the device for any mention of GPS anywhere and there is none. QuickGPS button does not link to any program.
If you get any response I'd appreciate it if you could clue me in.
Thanks
Charlie

Also have the same problem...
t-mobile pda with new wm6 rom (not original).
The gps connects to satellites but slowly and uncontinously... my tomtom navigator 6 cannot find a valid gps signal even if the gps try to connect and the gps led light falshes...
any news?
(sorry for bad english)
Try upgrading the radio ROM (search xda dev for discussion on best ones)
My father and I both have wm6.5 with tomtom7. He gets a gps signal straight away in the same location as me, only difference is I downgraded my radio Rom to save battery drain. It takes me ages and I have to walk about to pick up the satellites.
So I recon the answer is in the radio rom which can be upgraded without changing your main rom.

Same Problem
Hi,
I've got the same problem and have tryed the newest radio.
Tomtom shows 6 satelites with very strong signal, but it doesent fix. The Satelites are all shown in the north on the same position. The rom has been flashed to original but it did not fix. Any ideas ?
Be glad you even have a signal!!! My Artemis isn't even getting a signal at all :-(
I've solved my problem....I've flashed with Tom_b_b_v3_wwe_650 ROM...and my GPS was alive......then I've flashed with my ROM..Arte_Love_WM61_21042_Simple...
Or...if you want ...you can stay with Tom's ROM...it work's very well.....

Hi!
What is the name of the ROM witch works ?
Where to download ?
To Wobstar
So did mine. I used extern Antenna. Change in Tomtom from intern GPS to extern, 4800, com 4.
I tried several times and it worked but no FIX.
Time for an upgrade, I suppose
guys this worked for me. look @post of vovander80

first of all, I do apologize if the answer is somewhere in those threads. I spent a lot of time searching without result. Thus I post this one.
I have an HTC ToucPro2 with last ROM provided by HTC (Europe).
GPS is not working anymore. It has been working fine. I can't determine when it happened.
I made a (many) Hard Reset and tested before installing any applications. Thus, problem does not come from other applications.
I installed HTCGPSTool to troubleshoot without success.
Symptom is : Googlemaps searches for satellites but fixes none.
Another symptom : QuickGPS (= GPSRapide) downloads data OK but then puts an alert stating : "Echec de l'activation de données. Le paramètre de localisation doit être activé pour que les dernières données satellite puissent être utilisées pour accélerer le positionnement GPS".
Means / failed because the localisation parameters should be activated in order to use the last data for speeding up the GPS positioning.
I have to say that those localisation parameters are set to yes.
Another precision: AGPS is desactivated (my operator does not support it).
Any idea on how to solve this ?
Do you think that a ROM flash would help ?
thanks for any help
Try this cab and alter for your carrier data connection name. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=544421
thanks for taking care but unfortunately, it did not help.
no change.
it looks like applications are unable to communicate with the internal GPS (COM port unavailable or whatever).
HTCGPSTOOL says "failed to send NMEA command"
I asked HTC Support. They replied very quickly but just to say : send your mobile to our HTC Support Center ...
I can't afford not having my phone for weeks
what is the com port set to? under settings-system-external gps
com4 for applications to talk to it
none for material GPS port
Windows Mobile set to handle automatically all that stuff
Yesterday, I have flashed the ROM (with the same ROM than before) to clean up everything. I did not install anything.
GPS is working fine.
I'll see if the install of my apps is responsible for GPS not working or if the rom flash was simply necessary.
I got it !
After reinstall of VoIP, I got GPS down.
now, a search gave me that
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2553793
Known problem.
Don't know yet if VoIP MoD can really solve my problem (I have 6.5 on Rhodium).
