Hi, I don't spech well english, I have the Artemis M650 SPV of the ORANGE, UNLOCKED For one WEEK that they are successful to use the GPS with TOMTOM 6, all perfect. Not sò if because of varies modernizations of ROM, hour does not exist the way to make it to work correctly, has tried whichever configuration and whichever program, someone can help me in order to understand if the gps it is DEAD ! Thanks
You can select the inbuilt GPS Receiver if you have version 6,02 or 6,03 of the TomTom application installed, if this option isn't available try Other NMEA GPS Device/ Baud 9600/ Com Port 4 and it should work fine (unless Orange have been messing around with the hardware) - Mike
Thank's but don't work now, the problem is the last week it work fine on TOMTOM with this config : Programs : com 4 ; Hardware : (NONE) 4800 or 9600 ; Access with flag !!! now I see only the orange led ( GPS ) but don't work ( NO GPS DEVICE ) TOMTOM config : Built-in GPS receiver. There is the system to reset only the GPS Chip? Sorry for my English.
Hard reset the device and see if that clears the fault, if not it looks like the hardware has broken - Mike
I have a locked CID P3300, and today I could upgrade to wm6 using a great post in these forums, but when I installed TomTom6 and selected Internal GPS, TomTom indicates that no GPS was found, when I upgraded my device radio and ext rom couldn't be upgrade due upgrade restrictions, maybe this files doesn't upgrade are desabling my Internal GPS?
Thanks
Try to select in TomTom: the other NMEA GPS reciever.
At baudrate 4800 and on COM 4 TomTom is working great for me.

Ok I hope yours will work again after the WM5 downgrade! mine did not unfortunatly! but it can also be bad luck and my chip just did and it has nothing to do with upgrading..
If you need any rom please feel free to contact me..
I had some trouble with the rom also, GPS, WIFI..
I have a Dutch MDA III C originaly..
I got everything working by flashing is like so:
WM5 UK tmo -> WM6 O2 German. Stop at screen settings at first run of german rom -> Run WWE rom, complete install. -> Install Cert_SPCS and EnableRapi TO Internal storage, run Dutch WM6 rom..
Now got WIFI and GPS working..
Any other way of flashing get me stuck at boot or without GPS, WIFI or BT..
Camera works fine, speed is ok.. Seems faster then WM5.. But time will tell..
Thumbs up to the the maker of WWE and Dutch rom..

I have a MDA Compact III to, but the strange thing is that when I install the UK T-mobile rom and then try Tomtom it still does not detect a GPS device as it used to do! it always worked on the T-mobile rom and now all of a sudden it stopped working..
Downgrade finished right, now I have again wm5 and my TomTom works fine again, uffff !!!
I reviewed GPS Settings:
GPS program port: COM4
GPS hardware port: (None) Baud rate: 4800
Yes Manage GPS automatically.
This weekend I will try again to upgrade to wm6, and I will use this settings to check if GPS works fine...
Device Info:
ROM Version: 1.12.405.1 WWE
ROM Date: 9/12/06
Radio version: 02.67.90
Protocl version: 4.1.13.28
ExtRom version: 1.12.412.101
I used HTC_1.12.405.01_026790_WWE_SHIP to do the downgrade
I have the same problem, my GPS doesn't work any more, with NO GPS app! I have a German HTC and flashed the German O2 image. Downgrading is kinda difficult, didn't work. Does anyone have a German WM5 Rom? I'd rather put the old one back on there until a working GPS enabled version is out.

Wierd, do you have the original Tomtom shiped with the HTC?? I have a install cd from t-mobile, works fine if I flash from art_tmouk_11311001_024990_wwe_ship to German O2 to Dutch custom.. Any other way of flashing then wifi, BT and GPS don't work on my device..
Did you installed some GPS app such us GPS viewer, or a navigation program such us TomTom?, because in WM6 Dutch Rom by bepe you will find in system sheet an icon called External GPS, there try to use the settings that I wrote in last post, and then use some GPS program to verify if GPS works or not...
Good Luck
My GPS is working after a soft reset, I think I messed up something with the ports, I use GPS Gate. Now everything is ok!!!
I have upgraded my HTC P3300 CID-Locked to WM6 and GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth are all working nicely. I am using iGO GPS application as well as several others.
Please tell us, wich wm6 did you used?, when I upgraded my HTC-P3300, I used WM6 Rom by bepe, but since my HTC is CID-Locked I only could upgrade OS using a post in these forums which talk about that... btw this weekend I will try again to upgrade to wm6 and then I will use GPS settings that I post before, and this time I will install those CAB (rapi and other CAB file which appears in procedure)
Check out my blog post of upgrading to WM6.
Hope it will be usefull.
Hi everyboy,
Firts of all i want to let you know how happy was when i dicovered this forum !
I've been spendieng a long time uppon this forum and other one and i didn't find any woking answer. I it does exists please let me know i'll have a look to the link you'll give to me !
So here is my problem :
I have a SPV M650 (from Orange). I've been using it for a long time and it woked welll. I heard about news rom in WM6 :
- First i tried to upgrade in Aje_fr 1.8 full. Everything was OK but the GPS did'nt work anymore with TT 6.02 neither with another software!
- So i decided to take an "official" rom from HTC (i use this one HTC_P3300_FRA_3.13.406.1). My GPS still out of order with TT 6.30.
I decided as i saw in the differents topics to put my SPV in original rom configuration. The GPS works with TT 6.02 as at the first time.
- So i tried Aje_FR 1.8 and it doesn't wortk with it neither with HTC WM6 ROM.
- I tried to patch with Kulbuto but there's nothing to do GPS stills mute !
I know that some of you guys are pretty good by programming their smartphone and i will be very interesting by using one of the Aje_fr Rom but please help me to make my GPS a working one.
Thank you for you help.
Kilout
I also got spv m650 from orange with Aje_fr1.8 Medium and it work pretty well.
Are you sure you executed the GPS cab (with or without AGP) as explain by Aje_fr after upgrading then soft reset your mobile?
For Tomtom the best is choose 'Other NMEA GPS' on port COM4 with 9600 bauds.
It works !
Thank you for your answer,
I didn't soft reset after applying AGPS ON cab.
It seems to work well !!
Bye bye !
Can anyone help, have unlocked my phone, from this site, have flashed ROM version 1.23.404.2 Radio 1.50.08.11 and have no problem with most of the applications except for GPS. tomtom 6 installed set up on com 9 baud rate 9600, config on tomtom states "waiting for valid signal" i have used beeline GPS but it says cannot connect to GPS. I have read a lot of info on this site, tried to use information but no life as yet. If there is a program to congigure GPS or step by step guide ( new to this game ) then please advise.

I have a m700 and tomtom just auto detects the internal gps.
when I go to the gps config it says internal gps. there's no baud rate or port to configure.
I'm guessing you have the wrong radio rom or are bypassing some tomtom auto-config.
Try reinstaling the latest radio and tomtom
thank you for your reply, have tried several radio roms and still no go
try original htc rom...

Hi
same thing for me
cant found gps after flashing orange rom to p3300 original rom with tomtom
com4 window manage gps
how i can resolve problem
br
toze
similar problem
Same problem with me...
I have the rom no_nonsense_5 that was supposed to have the gps problem fixed...
I can find the gps device on the com port number 3 with a nice utility i found on the web thath can scan the ports to find out all the devices connected.
But even if i set the hw port on 3 and the automatic gps control i can't see the gps working.
When I start my tomtom navigator 6 i set it up to find the anema (wtf is that?) gps device on port 3 with 4800 I can see the satellite connection working, but really slowly and uncontinously... (also with another utility called gps test).
I cannot understand if the problem is:
-the rom
-tomtom
-hardware
-radio-rom (can anyone explain me what is the "radio-rom"?? I tryed to find out information but I really couldn't find anything... noob...).
Any suggestion?
Thanks in advance..
Flash with this ROM and you will have GPS again
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410912
...then...if you want...you can try again to flash with your ROM...I've had same problem and now it's solved...

The radio-rom is a special rom for the hardware of your cellphone, something like a firmware to keep it simple. You can flash a different radio rom that might change the battery drain, the signal quality of the phone, wifi, bluetooth, GPS,... without having to reinstall your 'normal' rom.
There is nothing like a 'best' radio rom. Alot of people have different experiences with the same rom. You just need to go and try for yourself.
