Hello guys,
After some weeks i have noticed a strange problem with my device and i really can't solve it, or figure out what is the problem( i hope that someone can help me here).
I already changed 3 times my rom version(first was the original german one from o2), then i tried out two more.
So, resuming the problem is that. Whenever i am listening to music(with the media player or whatever other program), the dial pad or the dial speed screen comes out. This doesnt happens always, but very often.
The first thing that i thought, it was that somehow the locking button was being pressed in the right sequence and my phone was unlocking and coming into this screens. For my surprise i saw that the screens were coming even with the phone currently LOCKED. By the way as i said is always the same screens. Or the speed dial one or dial pad!
Does anyone have any idea about this problem???
Thanks!
Cheers
Felipe

Hi-
I've got the Tilt 2, flashed with the OEM HTC Europe 6.5 rom. Occasionally on incoming calls, when I hit answer, the phone never picks up. It acts like I never pressed the button, and eventually the call goes to voicemail.
Anyone encounter this before?
UNSOLVED:
The newest radio seemed NOT to have solved the problem! 4.49.25.17
SOLVED (I hope!!!)
Nevermind, it's not solved.
but, I think I'm onto something. The problem is data connection based. If there is an active data connection, the phone stuggles to answer the call.
I thought found the solution in this thread:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.php?p=458469&postcount=1
but the problem is still occuring. Any ideas?
More data: Turning off the HTC dialer fixes the problem. Still unacceptable for me as the MS dialer is garbage on such a large screen. Happy to be narrowing down the problem though.
You're not using S2U2 are you? If so, there's a problem with the S2U2 answer functionality with our phones, not sure how generic the problem is but certainly with my Tilt 2 and I believe Touch Pro 2's in general. If so, turn off the "Caller ID" functionality and the HTC answer screen shows instead of S2U2.
Otherwise, haven't seen that, glad you found a workaround. Hopefully HTC will fix it!
Fingers crossed! This ROM from At0m has the AT&T dialer built in, and it seems to have solved my issue. I'm not sure if the dialer fixed it, or something else.
Hi everyone,
I am having a very strange issue which is really making me sorry I got this phone...
No matter what ROM I use (have tried Energy, Valkyrie, and AtomAng's AT&T version), most of the time the phone will cease to take calls (won't ring or indicate it is being called at all), and if I try to dial out, the phone dialer interface will "hang" in "Dialing... " and hitting the END red key only grays it out and then I have to SR the phone to be able to use it for a while more....
Any help or ideas highly appreciated (BTW, I did search but found no indications anyone might be having the same issues)
Thanks!

I have always had this issue. On my Tilt as well as my Tilt 2. I had it happen on stock as well. I never found an answer. Actually, I never looked. The times it happens for me is when the phone is changing signals. Going from 3G/H to G or E. ATT said that all 3 signal were at the same level in my area. My phone jumps signals all day.
Hi guys, hopefully someone can help me out, my TP2 calls my recent contact list by itself while it is sitting on my desk and not by me touching the phone by accident. This stops happening if I lock the screen before hand, but I shouldn't have to do that.

The reason I upgraded to a tp2. My tp1 called people all the time. While I was even holding it away from my face. Nothing would stop it. Sometimes I was not even aware that I was calling people three way. It was a bad situation.
If your phone is doing that, see aboiut a warranty replacement.
I had a Wizard that did that after I upgraded to a cooked 6.1 ROM. I flashed a 6.5 ROM and it never happened again. It was'nt a regular thing but it always dialed the same number which was a work colleague but he wasn't on my speed dials. Of course he was on the the recent calls list as soon the phone called him.
i've tried searching this forum with no luck for results, so maybe someone can point me in the right direction...
just wondering if there is a fix for this issue, that apparently is a bug:
when receiving an incoming call, and while the phone ringer is turned on, it will ring for a split second then it will stop ringing. the call will still be coming through and i can answer it and talk just fine, it's just the ringer that is the problem. this happens randomly, and i've found numerous posts on other forums by searching google, but haven't been able to find anything here.
can't post a url so here's some quotes:
My Dinc sometimes stops ringing after half a second with incoming calls. I'd hear a very short ring and then it just stops ringing or vibrating. I just noticed this today after missing several calls with my phone today.
This problems comes on randomly and goes away in a similar fashion. This seems to happen only when the phone is lying screen down on a flat surface. I called HTC and they said it might be due to the sensor in the front and advised me to not put phone face down and always carry it in a pouch. This is not an acceptable solution. I carry my phone in my pocket and it can very well be face down in there.
Has anyone noticed this problem? If not, I invite you to reproduce this problem. Put your phone screen down on a perfectly flat surface and try to call your cell. I'm wondering whether my phone is defective or it's a much wider issue.
Thanks.
Update: Apparently there is a feature on HTC devices when if you're holding the phone and if it rings, it will mute if you put it on a surface face down. While this is fine, the problem with my device is that if I leave it on a flat surface, it will do that for all subsequent calls too (ring for half a second and then mute). Maybe my phone has a bug in implementation of this 'feature'?

It's a well known issue that HTC has not fixed and will most likely never fix. I've been through 3 Dincs because of this problem and they all do the same thing. Quite irritating! Nice phone except for this BIG bug.

is there any fix for this bug? and does anyone know if this bug is software or hardware related. currently, i'm running stock 2.2 rooted with city id deleted. thinking about flashing CM7 or another custom rom, and just curious if it will do this with those roms as well.
thanks for any help
Must be an issue with the stock rom. I've never had a problem. But I've also never ran the stock 2.2 rom. I ran stock 2.1 until root was achieved. Custom Rom's from there on out.
Sent from my ADR6300
Also on my HTC Wildfire
This happens also on my htc wildfire android v2.2.1 (latest official rom), i think it is caused by the mute-on-pickup feature that is bugged in some way, even if i have turned it off.
I can't be the first one to need this but I can't seem to find it...
You know how the screen remains locked when you get an SMS (at least on my model of rhodium)? I want that to happen to all notifications. And if possible, to calls too.
It is so annoying when one of those happens and the screen remains unlocked, having my phone in my bag or whatever and things start to get "clicked", notifications get dismissed and so on. It happened a lot to me that I got some notification and by the time I got the phone out, it was dismissed and I was navigating the menus. Once I managed to call someone too.
Anyway, suggestions/pointers appreciated. Thanks.
Use Android, problem solved .
Honestly tho, I never figured out how to fix this in WinMo either. Drove me batty.

My solution was to install and use s2u2. It has a setting that will keep the screen off if the proximity sensor is blocked. It will lock for all notifications and it will lock in call as well.
thanks
Took me some time until I got the configurations working to my liking but it finally does what I wanted and a bit more. Will need to see how the battery is affected but only time will tell.
Thanks again.
