iPAQ 614c autoscaler question. - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hi,
It looks the iPAQ 614 has built the austoscaler of CPU speed. The CPU clock is changed base on load (I guess). For sure the CPU is operate with maximum speed only when the iPAQ is on power supply (I have proved it making video benchmarks).
I would be grateful if somebody could tell me how to disable this feature?!?
Thank you in advance.

Hi,
You can try the Pocket Hack Master this software allows to change frequency of the chipset, there is also option to disable internal auto scaler. You can use your iPAQ choice points for downloading software that came with the iPAQ device, just register your voucher number on the site www.ipaqchoice.com
One remark: since you've got a key for Pocket Hack Master download the newest version from the software homepage and register it with a key from ipaq choice.

Thank you KalifPL.
It is true Pocket Hack Master is working fine. Also XCPUscaler is working as well. I prefer the XCPUscalar so I use this. During using both mentioned software I found two disadvantages:
1. when the application is launched the BatteryStatus always show 100% of CPU usage.
2. Sometimes it happens the CPU clock is different then set in XCPUscalar or in HM.
Also I noticed the performance results are a little bit lower when I use 520MHz set by software then the 520MHz set by iPAQ (for ex on extended power supply).
Now I am looking for software which is implemented in the ASUS devices. With this software you can set the different modes for CPUs, like: autoscaler, turbo and etc.

Problems with Pocket Hack Master "PHM" LOCKING UP.

My Letter to Anton (writer of Pocket Hack Master) is below. His responce to fix the problem is below that.
Hello Anton
I have a Orange SPVM200 (Blue Angel) Pocket PC / Phone. I had installed your PHM software which was working great for a while at 531Mhz fixed speed. However I decided to try and use the XScaler software to safe battery power and to prevent CPU overheat. But after selecting 4 diferent speeds to use and setting them in the speed settings. The PHM software now loads up and then instantly ends !!. I belive that one or more of the speeds are unstable and will not run and I also belive it is the slowest speed causing the problem. I have tried many times to uninstall and then reinstall the software so that I can change the settings, but all to no avail. It simply picks up the 4 favourite settings and RE-applies them, each time I reinstall it. I am at a total loss as to how I can resolve this problem. If you could tell me where the favourites file is stored and what its called, I think deleting it may help solve the problem.
Thankyou
Rob Gale
Hi Rob,
The favorites are stored in the registry. You'd better change the following key:
HKLM\Software\Anton Tomov\Pocket Hack Master\EnableScale
from 1 to 0. That will disable the scaling engine and you will be able to remove the problematic favorite speed. If that does not help, please change:
HKLM\Software\Anton Tomov\Pocket Hack Master\LastSettingIsStable
to 0. Make sure that PHM is not running while making the changes.

How to run software for PDAs on Smartphones

Hi everyone,
I have just recently switched from Qtek 9100(identical to I-mate K-JAM, 02 mini S and MDA Vario) to Qtek 8310 (identical to I-mate SP5 and O2 Orion). None of the programs I used to work with can install on my new phone. I have heard that maybe you have to emulate touchscreen in order for them to work.
Can somebody help with thi problem?
Thank you
Smartphone OS lacks lots of functions/features that are present on a PocketPC. Not only the touchscreen is missing, search microsoft.com for the complete list of differences. Generally it is impossible to force any complex PocketPC app to work on smartphone. But the reverse process is not difficult - most of smartphone apps can be patched to run on a PocketPC.
recall something about wm2005 being able to run smartphone applications
not sure if wm2005 for smartP's can also do pda applications
there is also the issue of smartphones being much less powerfull then pda's to think about
Maybe there is an option, or.... ?
Thanks guys, as for the hardware specs of the phone they are the same as my previous PDA - CPU is TI OMAP 200Mhz, 64ROM, 128 RAM, I have also inserted 1GB mini SD card and the OS is Windows Mobile 5.0.
If anyone can help with this I am still hoping to find a solution

Jasjar IS NOT that slow :) read..

I have my device for almost a mounth. I had a qtek s100 just for notice.
When i started playing with jasjar i notice that the s100 felt more faster and that was kind of annoying. "I spent lots of $$$ on a slower device, it can't be".
Well, i started playing with roms (i had i-mate 1.30.76).Latest O2, t-mobile, qtek, i-mate,dopod and finally aku 3.2. I do not need to say that akus 3.2 betas are the fastest booting roms followed by Qtek 1.30.77 and the others. In real life, if you only install the essencial from the extended rom, all of the latest 02,t-mobile bla bla bla roms works at the same speed. Again akus are more responsive. In the final i said, it's not enough... Picodrive works but it has so much slowdowns.. Yes i like to play sonic .(also the same for pocketsnes jasjar version, ESPECIALLY with sound on).
So I started searching for awnsers and i do not know where but i read that the jasjar is faster when pluged to charger. "" could it be like some laptops ?? "" ok , i confirm! picodrive stopped the slowdowns and pocketsnes with sound on is just perfect!!
So how to solve my problem when on battery?? Xcpuscalar ver """""2.96""""" (ver 2.98 autoscale is MUCH MUCH slower on jasjar, sadly since authors say that it scales 5 time faster on some devices). So i configured xcpuscalar to scale between 208 and 520 when on battery and it works !! So when playing sonic, cpu scales to 520 and no more slowdowns and when listening to mp3,writing sms, it works at 208~312 saving battery. Also if you are doing something that needs more cpu load it will scale to 520. When on charger it works only at 520.
In the end i applied this modified cab of ranju that has the usual registry tricks that make wm5 faster, and believe me, they work.(I hope he does not mind my mod to the cab).
I hope it works this good for who gives it a try.
PS. if you prefer not to use aku 3.2 roms give t-mobiles 1.30.115 a try and do not install t-mobiles things. And forget xcpuscalar overclock, ok ?
So in the end i have:
Rom aku 3.2 beta 8 with radio 1.13, xcpuscalar 2.96 and the reg cab. Spbpocket plus to close things/make shortcuts on today screen, phonealarm to toggle bluetooth on and off when making/reciving a call (best ideia ever) and to alert me of something i did not notice.
Now, finally, i'm happy with jasjar.
phonealarm to toggle bluetooth on and off when making/reciving a call (best ideia ever)

Hi,
do you mean it switches on incoming call to BT_ON and then, after the call is over, it goes on BT_OFF automatically?
yes !! isn't that beautifull ??

- the display seems 240x240 but it can display 320x320 how can i change the todayscreen and stuff i read something about REALVGA but wath exaktly shall i do?
- is there a way i can see how much traffic my WAP/GPRS settings used(i only got 200mb free the rest will get expensiv..)
EMAIL ISSUES:

i read something about imap idyl and push mail doese this cost mucgh trafik ? i got a gmail account and it would be nice to reccive the emails direkt like on a blackberry...
i read sometimes on the web the samsung has a cpu with 6XX mhz and sometimes 425mhz wich is correkt? where can i check my cpu?
sorry for those realy low level questions this is my first WM6 Device ever and i hope someone could help me with some issues ^^
no one even know wath to do with a single issue?
Hello!
The CPU runs up to 624 MHZ, but he can change the frequency and run at 200 if it is in stand by for exemple. It´s Scallable and have Wireless Intel® SpeedStep® to manage the speed.
You can see the benchmark here:
http://www.pocketpt.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=21137 (sorry for the language)

I´m not Keys, but Chaves is Keys in english
It´s not easy ti see the speed, because almost programs don´t have option for this CPU, like Pocket Hack Master.
I have made some benchmark tests with SPB benchmark, and the CPU it´s realy good, comparade with Asus P750, HP ipaq 614 and HTC Touch Cruise
About Real Vga you can get the files needed here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=327830f , and don´t need to install the 128 Dpis pack, only real VGA and 96 Dpis pack.
The Samsung works at 320x320, and not at 240x240, but it works at 128 Dpis, and have the possibility to change to 96 with this files, and get more screen area
I have some email acounts, with push mail, and exchange, and have absolute no problem.
The only question is that i have set it to get mannualy for prevent battery drop. It´s not expensive, because you only get the atachments if you wont.

i780 Modification Help

Well, this is my first post here and i am good at hacking and modifying S60 Platforms and the iphone hacking as well,
The i780 is not my first WM but it will be the first to tamper with.
How can i adjust the speed of the device like done on the Diamond Tweaks
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398265
???
can i use the same setting to the i780 as the Diamond? would like to increase the speed of the device and increase battery life
on the diamond tweaks, this is mentioned
"Using Advanced Config, change File system cache to 8mb and file system filter cache to 131072 "
Can i do that to the samsung?
Thanks for your help in advance
Come on guys, all the professionals here and no one is able to answer the simple question ?!?!?! i need ur help
that tweak is only for the touchflo 3d interface that htc phoens have not hte actual running speed.
As far as i know there is no cpu clocking program for the chip in the i780.
The i780 has an Marvell CPU with dynamic frequency, can you read here:
http://www.marvell.com/products/cellular/application/pxa310.jsp.
You can see it also when you have TCPMP installed. When you start TCPMP and go to options-settings it shows you the clock speed. Directly after the program start it shows 624mhz, when you wait a while it shows 208mhz.
Any tweaks to increase battery life?
change backlight to turn off early and change it to the dullest setting.
there is a 3300mA battery you can buy but it makes it thick at the bottom.
thats 3.3 times longer battery.
i dont mind i got 2 batteries with mine and a case for charging the battery outside of the phone.
