Hello,
Does anyone plan on developing HardSPL for the artemis... I don't want it to simunlock or anything JUST to have the exact features it has on the Hermes... flash anything... doesn't get overwritten.
I just switched from Hermes to Wings now this... and USPL seems less reliable... plus i can't install it with vista ...
Thanks
for the part about USPL not working on vista you can try this, worked for me!
http://www.mrvanx.org/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=23&Itemid=27
Thank you for your response...
I have tried the trick and it does NOT work in Vista 64...
The drivers are ok... but USPL refuses to run correctly.
any thoughts?
At what part does the program fail, and does it give any error or message?
Well... i start uspl_start and it opens a command window and starts displaying "Could not run 16 bit application.. please contact etc.... for a 32 bit or 64 bit executable"
Short of installing a 32 bit operating system (dual boot or in a virtual machine, like vmware, make sure it has usb passthrough) all you can do is wait for someone to create a version that does not use the same 16 bit code.

Hi all,
I have been trying to check out the forum here, to try and solve my problem, I literally bought my JASJAR today, and it was giving some wierd behaviour. In an attempt to reload the software (I prefere to reload the entire ROM), something went wrong, now all thats on my screen is "USB" and a lil lower down "v1.01".
ActiveSync obviously not connecting now bcos the OS is not on the JASJAR no more, in my device manager is a "Microsoft USB Sync" under my mobile devices.
I downloaded what I am guessing is WM6, 'JASJAR_WWE_20106_20301_11300_wwe_ship' from another thread in this forum, tried to load that but cant communicate with device cos no activesync.
I have tried the different reset options, like the 2 function keys and the reset on the back, I push 0 to clear, and then it jus goes back to the USB v1.01 thing.
I am running windows vista home basic, with the Windows Mobile Device Center, it synced perfectly with this software, communicated properly with the update tool, until my device reset and activsync lost connection, then i was stuffed.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Sounds like it is your first time with the upgrade. What you are seeing on the screen is the bootloader, which is what we use for flashing new ROMs.
ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center (how come you have both on Vista?) will therefore not respond. This is fine, because we use a different program to load the new ROMs.
If you look at the folder you downloaded, chances are that there should be a program called "ROMUpgradeUt" or something similar. Provided that you have not changed anything in the folder, you should be able to flash the new ROM by simply following the instructions in the program.
You can also read this link for more information: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Universal
Here is an instruction guide on ROM upgrading: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=269118
how come you have both on Vista?
Sorry, I don't mean to sound like I have both, I recently moved to Vista, and am used to calling it activesync and not WMDC.
Thanks, will have a look
Ok, well I have got it up and running again, only problem now is activsync keeps freezing when I try and sync the device...any ideas?
I landed up using my work computer, which has XP on it, and then used MTTY and that connected fine, on Vista it simply didnt wanna work.
I ran the utility for those 'stuck on serial/usb', and that fixed it. Now I would like to load up WM6, but it keeps getting communication failures.
Thanks for the help guys....I got it working...running on WM6 now...whoo!!
I was becoming an expert in flashing...but the cable became undone during a flash :-(
Now it restarts to a blank screen with R1.50.08.11 / G32.83.7020 etc. but goes no further.
Computer no longer sees device.
Used hard keys to go into bootlocker. (IPL 0.50 / SPL- 1.07.000)
My VISTA :-( computer sees device.
Then try RUU, but this gives a 270 error.
Tried moving to XP, but the computer does not install the software for the USB port, so now the RUU gives 200 error. Arrgh.
Question: How to update from a very corrupted ROM? Or where can I find the drivers for the USB port, for XP. and if I do can I do the update from the hard bootlocker?
Any help really appreciated!
MS
Update
Found USB drivers for Windows XP
But getting identical problem as with Vista :-(
Device not seen unless in bootlocker mode.
RUU starts and after 1% quits with 270 error - image file corrupt.
Tried RUU a hard SPL (olipro) but same 270 error occured.
Help still needed...

I think you have to flash original HTC rom prio to try other roms
i got a similar problem here, my vista can find trinity only when it is in bootloader mode.
my experience is that connect tinity to vista when it is in bootlader mode, then i can flash a new rom.
after that tinity can sync with vista only via bluetooth.
for your case, maybe you really need restore your trinity to official rom first.

The trinity upgrade guide does not help here.
I can connect to device I have sorted out all the VISTA and XP issues.
The problem is at 1% status the 270 error occurs.
The telephone is actuall a Swisscom 1510. Original ROM was lost in first flashing, have searched but not found official update.
Is there a mini-ROM or a windows WM5 lite ROM which may overwrite what happens while still using the hard bootloader?
MS
Use SD card method.
See wiki page.
Bye
Hi,
...or .... MTTY Procedure....
BYE, Bobo
Tried SD card method - nothing happens. Just sits in Bootloader :-(
Try this procedure
In windows Vista use the attached driver in order to recognize your Device.
If your device is already recognized from windows vista replace the drivers with the drivers in the zip drive.
You have to use the drivers in the attached file not the windows default drivers VERY IMPORTANT!!!
After your Windows vista recognized your device try to flash it
Cheers
Thanks for all the help....but still I am having no success.
The HTC trinity is recognised in both Vista and XP when I use bootloader. (ie HTC USB SYNCH in device manager. Without boot loader the device is more or less dead.
I tried the SD crard trick - nothing happens.
Tried mtty.exe - just get cannot open USB port (on both VISTA and XP).
Nevertheless, the bootloader sees the USB port and the RUU goes to 1% then stops so some communication is happening.
Any other ideas?

The final and, j' m sure, the definitive solution:
Try this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=308691&highlight=stack+in+bootloader
Just before I try splxploit, as a note I got this out of mtty
Cmd>info 8
Block 0x0(0) is Reversed block
...
Block 0xC(12) is Reversed block
Block 0x335(821) is BAD block !!!
Seems my problem must be here. Is there another fix besides splxploit?
MS
Install Olipro hardspl 1.20.
Bye
Dear, carefully look that thread again. Stack overflow for Trinity.
It's all my advise. I think you don't do right "Stack method" to get out your problem.
Best regard.(rest calm and do it again).
Uhm, try to download some rom again? and try Rom NVID (no vendor ID) for example. ???
Quick update...
Tried SD card - get 00068002 loading .... then goes to IPL0.5 SPL 1.07
mtty info 8 shows bad blocks
task 2a doesn't clear bad blocks because of CID lock
Tried various hard-SPL OLIPRO 1.2 1.3 etc, to unlock CID - to no avail.
Can the CID not be unlocked through mtty?

END of STORY
YESSS!
POF you are a genius - Splxpoilt worked a dream.
Had to run unbrick.bat once. Hit soft reset, and run again as explained in the readme.
This got a good SPL on the machine - then a standard RUU worked a dream.
At the same time I got the SD card update working too...
OK, OK, so I should have tried splxpoit earlier. But I think I had to do the rest first to understand what was going on.
Strange thing is if I look at my machine again under mtty, there is still the Bad block (821). Who cares, I am unbricked!!!
By the way, this board is just completely amazing.
THANKS TO ALL....
i have the same problem
could you help me . how did you repair your spv?
uber noob here
just got my htc hermes 100, wanting to update to WM6 (from 5) follow all the steps in page 1, did two things
save the RUUwrapper an that NBH file to my pc, while my phone is sync tried running the file and got error msg (the application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135)
one last thing i did was copied both files in my phone and run it, got this msg this time (thid spplication (ruuwraper.exe)requires newwr version of ms.net etc)i'm lost, i know this is the 1st step i need to do to make it a WM6 ryt?
Hi...read mrvanx's guide before flashing:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299462
You must to put hardspl on FIRST! U need to install NETCF on your PC. Do not put the ruu or rom files on your PPC and run them. Take Care

OK I'll happily admit to being a NOOB as well but I have had exactly the same issue and I don't think (and I read the guides many times!) that the answer is there. So it is not helping simply endlessly pointing to the guides (helpful though they are).
The point seems to be that you need the Microsoft 2.0 .NET framework installed on your PC (i.e. the computer not the phone) rather than the NETCF mentioned above.
I think (assuming that I am right!) it would be great to add this clearly to the guide ("Make sure sure your computer has Microsoft .NET 2.0 Installed") preferably with a link to the Microsoft download site for .NET as well.

I once was a noob too, this is three months ago, and I had spent days on reading up before I did my first flash. The wiki is there just for that! hmm, also with .net framework, you'll be surprise how many software these days that will run WITHOUT them installed.
Hi . I had same problem with my 3 PCs. I downloaded latest version of .NET framework from microsoft site & reinstalled it & WOW.. it started..

.Net Framwork is required ONLY by software that is written directly for it and does NOT include the required DLLs in the app itself...which is most. C# is one language that you MUST have the framwork installed most of the time. Very few people want to include the DLLs because people SHOULD have the .Net Framework installed anywas.
This thread was very useful by the way. I'd come across this problem today and it's helped me to solve it. I'm sure any noobs (like myself) will find this thread useful in future.
Just wanted to add one thing, RUUWrapper was crashing on me as well.....
You cannot run this from a network drive! Has to be ran from a local drive, or it crashes...heh (I have a main file server setup over gigabit)
If you've read up then you have Hard SPL installed. That means you can bypass the computer for the flashing. You can use the sd card method. I believe its safer and doesn't have those niggly little sync errors and there's less chance of the phone crashing/being reset or powered off. Recommended if you flash the radio rom where a simple problem results in a permanent brick.
Cheers...
I decided to tell something about my experience today about these Error numbers while Upgrading my Hermes (T-Mobile MDA VARIO II) .
Dear friends….i read Upgrading instuguidances again and again but there is a gold issue I did not notice untill today.
whenever I put my PPC into Boot Loader Mode and connect it to PC to upgrading these Errors appear immediately and I was in trouble what those errors are.
It checked the cable or some different Official ROMs but in fact I noticed all growth from Windows.
Yeah…
I am in winder why Microsoft does not make it possible upgrading PPC over Windows XPSP3 !!!
Whenever I run RUUWarpper on Windows XP Service Pack 3 these errors shown while I was sure about correct cable and correct ROM and ….
Sooo I want to share it to all peoples this gold notice :
Upgrading PPC is just possible on Windows XP Service Pack 2.
not Windows XPSP3 nor Windows Vista.
I think it is good for someone else that search and find these Topic in database of this nice/great Forum if same problem has appeared to him.
Here is some pictures of those errors & some proof if is required.
Mate, there has been a heap of threads on how to upgrade with Vista. It Works.
I have, on occasion, upgraded my Hermes on Win XP SP3 successfully. If it doesn't work for you, try the sd card method, you have to install Hard SPL V7 first, I tend to use this method more as it seems safer to me... Especially for the radio rom.
All you need to do is search and you should find the answers you seek...
Cheers...
So really can you Upgrade your Hermes on Win XP SP3 successfully?
you mentioned some keywords but could you please show me those links exactly how to upgrade our Hermes on XP SP3 too?
I think this forum is so noisy i can not find it myself.
I really need Upgrade HERM300 (T-Mobile MDA Vario II) on XP SP3 on my Laptop.
its boot loader shows IPL-1.04 & SPL-2.10.olipro
is it enough or not?
about 1 hours after reading your post I tried again upgrading on XP SP3 and put it on Boot Loader but nothing. (above Errors had shown again and again)
i would be appreciate if you show us that useful links (upgrading over XP SP3 normaly like XP SP2 successfuly)
Mate, as you have Hard SPL installed (SPL 2.10) try this instead...
1. Format a 2Gb or less sd card FAT32. Copy the .nbh file of the rom you want onto it and rename to "hermimg.nbh".
2. Put sd card into Hermes and reset to bootloader - power, OK and reset with stylus.
3. When prompted hit the power button to flash new rom.
Just make sure you have 50% or more battery though.
I find this method the easiest way of flashing roms as there is no real involvement of the PC except to format sd card and copy the .nbh file across. You'll get no sync errors, have no worries about resets/blackouts ar the usb cable being pulled. About the only ways to stuff this up is to reset in the middle of a flash or to have a flat battery.
Cheers...

Yes you can upgrade it in XP SP3. Do you have .net installed in the pc? If you dont, then you will be getting errors too.

Yes.
.NET Framework 2.0 SP2 and 3.0 SP2 is installed on my XP SP3 shows on Add/Remove Programs on Control Panel.
I am sure.
and by your accepting we can upgrade PPC on XP SP3 , I resolute and will search and search again to find any solution why i get those errors on XP SP3 while you both told me upgrading is possible.
dear friends ,Thanks for your communion.
What you experienced was what I just did went thru
Had the same thoughts with the problem, I get Error [264], I also thought the CID-unlock issue. Tried many ways to get thru but fail in the end. Well yea, your piece of notes enlighten me. I will try on XP SP 2 and below, gotta find the machine some where first
Thanks for this post.

after those days passed what about your siuation?
has your problem solved using Windows XP Service Pack 2 ?
did you find any System running XP SP2 and try upgrading your PPC ?
If you have trouble with the pc, try the SD card method. Easier and I believe safer too as no-one accidently resets the pc in the middle of a flash. This method is a MUST when upgrading Radio ROMs...
For the PC though, you might need to update your .net framework to 3.5.
Cheers...
dear ultramag69...
You recommened this safely nice upgrading method and wrote a how to on this post and I love it and thank for suggest it.
I did not have enough time to upgrade and change my Hermes ROM recently from December 2008 so I did not try this method still cause PPC will go to Factory Default settings and programms installed will be ununstalled and I hate installing again and again.
anyway...
so Thanks for your nice answer and remind.
I suggest others try this method too instead of using PC running XPSP 2 specially this days mostly use Vista running Windows Mobile Device Center instead of XP running ActivSync.
Hello everybody!!
I am a beginner in ROMupgrading issues, but i would really love to give my prophet a new soul
So i downloaded 2 cooked roms here, and tried to install them.
Both recommended doing a HardSPL. But after copying the jumpSPL and running it(white screen on Prophet), the the "RomUpdateUtility_NV_G4.exe" crashes while "receiving information from phone" without any error message...
I use a fully updated windows 7, did anyone face similar problems or has solutions?
Thank you VERY much
PS: I already tried the XP mode AND running the update utility as an Administrator, but both had no effects! Running the hardspl from a virtual machine under XP fails because the usb isn forwarded after the jumpSPL has been startet...
