Unfortunately you can only use the manufacturer / Service provider ROM's on the P3600i.
You can certainly change themes and colour schemes and there are plenty of them available on here.
There are also some really good programs / applications that improve the P3600i so have a look on the forum and decide for yourself.

1.Which ROM have you found the best out of the box? (from the 1st turn on)(added applications etc)
2.say you are on O2, were you able to still make calls/txt/mms on the other roms, (changing the settings etc maybe)

THANX FOR YOU REPLY.I WOULDNT ASK YOU TO DO ANYTHING YET,i have done a lot on both the magician that i have and the universal.i have read a lot of discussion on these topics on this website.in my experience,if you are on a contract then yes you are dead right with what you say.at the moment on my device i have about 30 programs on it,it runs suitably fast enough for me.i have unlocked and unhidded the extrom and deleted it.i have an o2 exec running bits of tmobile and a bit of o2,because i have an tmobile sim.the unit is superb despite the neg comments on it,i have had masses of pdas and this is the coolest.currently i have xda exec,mda compact,fujitsu loox720(TOP CLASS PDA VERY DIFFICULT TO BEAT),TUNGSTEN T3,NOKIA9210,SHARP SL860.I would read more on here though because you can increase the confidence level and the level of knowledge u have.the way to do it is to unlock the extrom then soft reset,then unhide it then soft reset have u can see whats on your extended rom.i have an extra 10 meg now i am waiting for buzz god to find out how to delete the partition.the orange has the best today screen interface hence why i want to try it.the files can be copied onto a pc then zipped and posted.only try it though once you are comfortable.flashing roms onto the pda is far more gods will,wouldnt recommend that unless you are totally confident.

Your best bet is to search this forum thats how we all learn how to do it. The tools to unlock your BA can be found on the ftp site and all information you require are their on the wiki link at top of the page here.

Hi Dreadlord,
In a nutshell, yes, it is possible to update your unit.
My personal recommendation to you is that you stay with what you have. Presently, there are few advantages that you, as an end user, would gain from an upgrade to WM5. Perhaps, it's just an appearance issue..?
To Upgrade a BA to WM5 requires some end user knowledge of the day to day running of the device and if you're having problems understanding the daily terms within posts here then you might end up damaging your BA.
Don't forget that these ROMS are not official releases. They are patched reverse engineered Operating Systems that still, at this stage, feature bugs & code issues. Granted they are getting better with each release and I strongly believe that one day they'll be a "plug & Play" version that people can just load and use..
This is why I presently am running the latest 1.42 WWE ROM for WM2003SE.. Yes, I have updated my BA to WM5 several times but I have always downgraded again to WM2003SE as so far as I rely on my BA too much for it to use [compared to WM2003SE] an unstable system.
Another thing is that the majority of users on this forum have all had to read the wiki on here and learn. There's very few people who are lucky enough to have this kind of information in their brains already. (Click the link in my Signature to start reading Wiki)
You might not get a good response from others on here if you reply in bold (or caps) stating that you don't understand things - It's not their fault you don't know..

Yep, me too have a gsmart winmo phone - a MW700 and i'd love to put windows mobile 6.5 on it.
It's very hit and miss on this forum as to whether anyone will even bother to reply to you. I guess people are busy with other things on other phones.
I think we need a developer who buy a gsmart.. i tried to cook my own ms800 rom using the instructions on mybestpda but i had many problems. I so hope someone better than me can work on gsmart roms. I think i've lost time enought, so i prefer to wait.. bye bye

It's really from mybestpda i've start my adventure on cooking a rom for ms800.. because it's really a good site, but there is no roms for ms800.
There is a thread on cooking roms and i tried loosing so much time...
There is another site www.gigabyteclub.ru that is really good and is in Russian,but there there are only russian roms and i don't understand how to use the kitchen (in russian), google translator it's not enought for me....

Hello guys, i have big problem, i try to flash my Gsmart MS800 with modified rom and now i can't start the phone, only see light display. Sombody know the key combination for bootloader menu? I want to reinstal the original one.

I agree, but there are now smartphones everywhere @ the world , the htc tp2 has become an old type compared to the newer, look @ me , I also sold my Htc tp2, and now i have the Sensation (wonderful device by the way), so i'm also moved to the Sensation development.
I hope for you guys that the development for the htc tp2 continues, but there many people @ another developments now, that's why there is so little developed in recent months.

it's not finished yet, I need to make sense usefull on my rom (it freeze the device when I use it...) And am trying to found sense 2.1 from htc's roms, but they aren't online anymore...

the rom. With there new website, it's impossible to find older roms than the one with sense 2.5.
I'm trying to make I rom with this both sense versions. The lite version has touch flo 2.1 with sense theme. I want to change TF3D with sense 2.1.
