Is it possible to make my Artemis to work (with desktop PC) like USB hardware (hasp) hardlock key if I already have a dump file of that dongle key?
I need some kind of emulator for my Artemis to communicate with other PC like different hardware (USB) dongles when different Dump files are loaded in on the Pocket PC.
Well you need activesync inorder to see "my device" in "my computer" then you just can treat it like a hard disk drive. Not really sure why you'd do this though considering its a bit of a big flash disk?

I need my PC to "think" when Pocket PC is connected and this software is started on the pocket PC with current dump file that this device is one of this USB Hardlock (HASP) dongles, not Pocket PC.

wm5storage does the work.
Just change your windows . If you use the new and "improved" vista it will be recognized as a mass storage device (after a few updates are automaticaly installed). For all other computers I use a bluetooth dongle

Hi, i have searched the forum for an answer but i had no luck, plenty of threads on how to map a drive of a PC onto your Universal but not the other way round, i have a folder on my SD card that has all my simple system tools for PC in it and i would like to be able to go to a WiFi network and be able to access the folder from any PC regardless of activesync.
I hope i didn't make my request too confusing but im sure you will know what i mean because it would be very usful

The best software for you is WM5torage.

Thats Brilliant, thank you so much for your reply, but i don't think i didn't explane it right, i already have a program for doing the USB mass storge,its called 'Card Export 2', its brilliant and so fast, but thats not what im looking for because you still have to physicly plug your phone in to a PC, i want to be able to 'SHARE' a folder on my phone, i.e Mydevice\my document\STUFF, just like you do on a PC, and then be able to run/edit/copy/paste stuff in that folder from another PC using WiFi, so in other when i go into work and connect my phone to the network using WiFi i want to be able to go to any desktop and access my files on my phone without wires, i.e in explorer type-
\\myphone\stuff
('myphone' being the name of my device & 'stuff' being the shared folder on my phone)
have i made it any clearer?

in the past i was also dreamin about a solution you have described. in the meantime i have learned by other posts that this is not possible as providing drives or folders as a network ressource is not implemented in windows mobile. so no way of getting an easy solution for that. but in other cases wm5torage works very well for me until somebody has worked out a way for wireless sharing of folders.

I use a piece of software called V m Network Browser. lets you copy and paste files and play files over the wifi network.
Great app
its shareware but small price for a good piece of software.

thanks for your input. just one question left: is this software running on your desktop/server pc and it allows to play around with files on your mobile device or do you run the software on your mobile device and play around with files on your desktop/server pc?

Yes it runs on the Pocket pc nothing needed on the desktop pc apart from the shared folders
I have the dash connected to my mac. Not through USB,but through bluetooth and wifi. I beamed the WM6 file to my dash,but it says there is not enough memory and to deleted programs. Can someone give me a detailed explanation on how I can install WM6 without having to delete anything?
you can't install it like that.
run the exe on your pc and it will connect to the phone and start the rom upgrade.
pretty sure you will need a windows connection but i don't know anything about macs. i do know that you can't do it wirelessly.

Yeah I know I can't do it wirelessly. I was trying to beam the file from my mac to my PC,cause I have construction going on at the house now,so only my mac is wireless. So I tried to beam the file to my phone,to them connect it via USB to my PC and run the update. But the phone says there is not enough memory.
I guess I would have to just put the .exe file on disc.
I could even put it on my ipod and connect my ipod to my PC and use it as a hard drive.
But after doing so,will the updater run automatically? As in I don't have to remove and previous programs?
no you don't have to remove anything.
your phone will be reflashed to the new rom and you will lose everything in the phones memory.
WM6 is not an application like I think you might be perceiving it. You must run it from your Windows Desktop with your phone connected through a USB connection. It will wipe out everything on your phone that is currently on it. Maybe it would help to envision the WM6 ROM flash more like what it would be like to upgrade your computer from Windows XP to Vista.

i could be ignorent but as far as i know universal dont support usbhost and cant access usb devices at all

I'm swimming in the kool aid here: what does all this mean? Universal doesnt have USB host support, so whats the USB HDD cab do? Does it allow you to use ur universal as a USB Mass storage device?

Yes, it allow tu use your Uni as a USB Mass storage and the program is call USB HDD, same function as WM5torage.
Why do I be able to do the file not downloaden?

i did install this (USB_HDD.cab) because i wanted to get closer to my flashMemory (not my SD card) to recover some files...
now active sync does not find my ppc anymore...

my computer doesnt show a usb device after activating WM5torage. i have unchecked "advanced network functionality" in connection settings. my pc showed that it recognized a mass storage device and said it was ready, but it doesnt show up in My Computer. rebooting both pc and s620 didnt do anything either. ive looked around with no solution. is there a step im missing here?

no extra drives. i tried the program Card Export and that works but its not free. im now beginning to think it has to do with the pc. like i had said, with wm5torage, my pc did show there was new hardware installed and ready. any ideas?

I'm just having this amazing phone but i'm a little bit disappointed when I connect it on my mac because I can't use it without "LG PC SUITE"
I can't find it in my finder like an usb storage and so I find it not very practical to use.
Have you any tips to use it like an usb storage?
If u can't install LG PC sure on your mac then install windows on your mac... I am sure u can install windows on your mac

Don't think thats possible with Android on a Mac, Steve Jobs made sure of that. The link I posted above will let you copy/delete/rename stuff on your phone, both internal and external SD, other than that what exactly do you want to do with the phone ?

Ha damn it!
When I had my HTC Desire HD it worked like an usb storage and it was great 'cause I could have to do a lot of things but now I'm very pissed off to know it's not possible!!!
