Remove Scroll Bars - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Not sure how helpful this is, but with TouchFlo, I found scrolls bars quite annoying.
So I got rid of em!
Only tested it on the mogul, but feel free to try. You can always uninstall.
Note, you must soft reset for it to work.

Touchflo doesn't work in all places, so leaving scrollbars on would be recommended.
--James

Is that so? I wasn't aware. I haven't run across any programs on my device so far that it doesn't work with.
Oh well, thanks for the insight.

Can you elaborate on what this cab does to accomplish scroll-bar removal or hiding (whichever may be true). Haven't run it, are you just setting the parameters to 0 in the reg?
TIA

Yep, I just like to make all my registry changes into cabs, so I can easily pick and choose what to remove or keep.

Scrollbar removal
I've tried several tweaks to removing the scrollbar on my
Touch but every time i do, Touchflo stops working...
It's a nice thought though... it doesn't work on mine...
Keep trying...
Craig

thanks
i did a search but could not find the post....maybe i used the wrong keyword. thanks..

I think I remember reading somewhere that you simply delete the folder (and contents) from out of 'Program Files'. I think you run the uninstall through Add/Remove Programs first

Working fine on a HTC P3300 with Original WM6 French Rom
I have managed to uninstall, but it has taken over so many of the windows settings ie. Soft keys etc. that I have got to work out now which it has and which it hasn't and reset them. Decided to reflash the rom and do it that way.
Agree with the comments about uninstalling -it seems to get its hooks into your soft keys. I had to hard reset to sort it.
I am thinking of using it, if only I could work out how to customise the Favourites bit of the Applications part - ie the little arrow at the bottom of the screen.
Anyone know how to do this??

Answers, answers...
People may have found these themselves, but answers to questions may be on the PointUI Home forum, e.g. Uninstall Instructions.
Probably need to register (free) to see the boards...
Very good piece of software
need some further improvements but as beta's go I think these guys are clearly on the right lines.
If they get mail, messages, contacts and phone dialer to be like the rest of the UI then it will be tops
i appreciate it's still in beta but this just looks damn basic and boring (and i don't mean simplistic and stylish)
if the looks were even close to right i'd try it

[Resource] Adding More Programs in Program Tab

Hey guys, I've been messing around with my HD in the registry before doing a master reset and found how to add more programs to the programs tab (in case 24 is not enough for you)
HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\ProgramLauncher
(once u navigate there, add new keys (starting with 24) and copy and paste the DispName, IconPath, IsReadOnly, and Path from one of the previous keys)
PS, sorry if this was already posted, I tried searching for it but couldn't find it.
Otherwise, enjoy
hey thats really cool I'm going to try that now!
Is it possible to also add more than one application tab?
Looks promising, but I must be doing something wrong. I do get the '+' icons to add new programs but when I add a program it doesn't show, not even ofter a soft reset. Will try a bit more...
edit: Noticed in the registry that it does change the key's Path and DispName entries but somehow it just won't show... Odd.
Did anybody get this working? It would be nice to have a few more spaces for programs.
No, the maximum of activ program is 24 "+" and not more aviable.
Jes, you can make more then 24 "+", but not activ with program`s.
Too bad, thanks. It still strikes me as odd, but I've had so many HTC /WM phones that by now 'odd' actually became the norm
Thanks again
sorry guys, I didn't actually try adding a program to the plus (as I didn't have the need, I just assumed it would work when I saw the '+'), but hey, who knows, maybe it's a two part process and we just have to find another registry which will allow us to assign the programs. Once again, sorry for not fully testing before posting. (and PS, from what I remember, the diamond only had 16 or 20 '+' for programs, so I'm thinking that there is indeed a way to assign more programs, though it might be not worth the trouble)

Help a noob - please

I'm not at all technical, and therfore nervous about completely changing the ROM on my HD. I'm also paranoid about touching the registery, because I don't know what I'm doing.
There are 2 things i'd like to do:
1) modify the tabs at the bottom of the screen to get rid of all the garbage that my carrier put there, and customise it to what i want.
2) have the ability to change the functionality of the soft keys below the screen
Is there a utility or program that does either or both of these things.
Many thanks
Lost too!
Hi
im new here too! still wondering n lost about the terms and acronyms used here.
Whats TF3D? wats Manila? how do i normalise back a certain add-ons which i dun like? do i need a certain additional program to install certain add-ons? gosh, im so lost!
juz bought the phone but nothing has been done yet..
any BASIC/MUST-HAVE applications or add-ons as a start as a base?
Many thanks!
You can always flash a new ROM (thats the core.. the OS and basic apps.. and on your phone all that stuff you operator added) theres a wiki how to do it. Flashing a rom is similar to flashing the bios on your PC. Most things are editable. You can get "Cooked" ROMs those are Cores that people have modified, added to, customized and tweaked.
manila is the the tab interface you see on touch phones there's Manila 2d and newer TF3D - (TouchFlo 3d)
There's tons of freeware and opensource available and what is "must" have is largely opinion and what you do with your phone. it's good to browse here for apps and in Blackstone/ROMs for ROMs.
things to be aware of your phone is WVGA.. big screen not all apps will fill it if they are qvga or vga. also you have almost no buttons so everything is touch... this can be a problem with some apps as they expect/require buttons. But newer apps are improving to support purely touch base control.
hope this helps you can always msg me if u have questions.

Most addons come as .cab files you copy them to your phone and execute then.. run them and theyll install.. theyll ask phone memory or card storage. i put most things on the card and only install key things for the phone to run in its memory. to uninstall any cab or some programs that are exe and you run from desktop they install to phone. you can uninstall them either from activesync remove programs, or from your phone settings/system/ remove program and they uninstall.

Please don't try to change the ROM now, I would recommend you play first with the HD and learn it.
Answers:
1. There are many options - one is:
Stevedpl7 TF3D Tab Icon Theme 5 http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...ight=stevedpl7
2. You can program the soft keys in many of the config tools - one is:
JS Advanced Configuration Tool 3.3 http://www.touchxperience.com/en/adv...tion-tool.html
Finally, while the application list is always personal, I suggest reviewing mine at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3117017&highlight=secondtoday#post3117017
Good luck !
Thank you sooo much guys - that's about the level of tech-ness I can cope with right now. I think I'll shy away from loading a new ROM for a while, as suggested. I just sounds like it'd too risky for a dunce like me, and the consequences appear to be potentially quite dire.
I have found and installed HDTweaks, and that allowed me to configure the softkeys. Now all I have to do is find a way to change / reallocate / rearrange the tabs.
Thanks again for your "sympathy" and help.
Cheers.

TouchFlo3D2 Start Menu

Hi guys. Just switched from Kaiser to Rhodium and so far love it...
However, I'm already starting to get a bit annoyed by the Start Menu replacement that comes with TF3D2.
Is there an app or a reg-hack that i can run to go back to good ol' 6.1 Start Menu?
Only reason I ask is because for some reason my TomTom install hasn't put an entry in the all programs list so to launch it I have to go Start, All Programs, File Explorer, My Device, Navigator, TomTom...which I'm sure you will agree is somewhat cumbersome.
Or if anyone has some magical way to add folders/shortcuts into the TF3D2 menus that would also work fine for me!
OK figured out how to create a shortcut, and subsequently add it to the quick launcher.
Still a bit confused as to why stuff that should be (and is) in folders (i.e. S2U2) is shown as a list.
For that reason, can I enable folder view, or can I disable the task launcher altogether and go back to good old windows mobile start menu?
I've tried the TF3D2 tweak app and that doesn't seem to do anything at all!
Why not try the solution here. Hope that helps,
Dave
Many thanks!
I thought we can just turn it off from the Today settings screen? (Just untick TouchFlo3D from it)
you can, but that turns off the whole of touchflo3d rather than just the start menu/program manager

Use Explorer and navigate to your Windows\StartMenu\Programs\ folder and paste shortcuts to your applications.
They should appear in the Programs list now.
Hope this helped you
the answer is in the tweaks thread.

whats going on here

Hi all,
please excuse the vagueness of this post.
I have just been given a tp2 as a replacement to my td2
My wife also has the tp2 which she got a year ago
the whole look of the phone (software ) is totally diferent
for instance the program page used to list a few progs (your choice) and then you had to hit all progs to get them up.
i am guessing that its a different rom or different version of sense?
also how do i change/edit/remove some programs from the list?
cheers guys
you'll need a registry editor to get the job done here, you can find that in the Theme's and apps section, i'll be back with a link, but you have to navigate to --
HKLM\Software\HTC\EnlargeMenu
and where you see
EnableManilaStartMenu = 1
change the one to a zero and restart the phone, should work.
thanks for that
sorry to be thick but does that just enable me to move the prog icons or delete the progs as well
appreciate the help

You don't need to edit the registry to turn off Manila. This is easily done from the Today settings.

but i gat as far as
HKLM\Software\HTC\
but cant see enlarge menu
also on the today screen there is no mention of manilla jut htc sense
all i really want to do is lose all the stupid pre loaded progs

Different issues, my friend. Sense is the UI (aka Manila versions 2.1 and 2.5) you see when you start the phone. It is on by default, but you can turn it off in the Today setup and use the much less memory intensive standard Window Mobile screen. Go into the Today setup and turn off Sense by removing the check mark in the list and putting a check mark on Windows Default.
As for the bloatware that comes with the phone, anything on the ROM can not be removed except by flashing a new ROM. You can delete shortcuts from your start menu for programs you don't/won't use, but the programs will still be there. Do a search for Crud Scraper, a neat little tool that can 'remove' stuff from specific phone models (it worked great on my Tilt 2). Beyond that, read up as much as you can on modding your phone. This place is a great resource. Unfortunately, easy answers are hard to come by. You have to roll up your sleeves and get a little dirty.
