Hi guys Im looking for a good task manager for WM6.1. The one that comes with Vanilla 4.01 is great but Im looking for a task manager that can actually kill processes that I choose.

HTC Task Manager v2.0.30995.1
is my fav
Thanks, but I already have that one installed. Yeah it is great but Im actually looking for a task manager like the on used in XP for example, one that can actually kill processes that run in background and not just close running programs. I had one before but I just cant remember what it was lol.
Which works better: HTC Task manager, WK Task Manager or the Task Manager in SPB Pocket Plus?

My Dash can only run one java app at a time. Is there an alternative midlet manager that runs one app in the front and suspends others?
My old i930 (WM2003) is very convenient on this regard: I can switch from gmail to operamini without having to close/restart the other.
I have tried all the midlet manager I could find, but none of them work on Dash.
Currently I am using the trial version of IBM's WebSphere Everyplace Micro Environment without any problems.

First thank you very much for the info.
However, what a waste of time. Had to download a 45MB file, only to find that 4MB is what I need. It is very inconvenient to install and use. Very buggy too. Cannot even suspend and restore a single app, forget about running one and suspending the other(s).
Much worse than the built-in manager.
Am I missing something?
Even my old wm2003 smartphone can run couple java apps at the same time, why the latest WM6 cannot?
Again, thank you for the info.
See http://www.pxdxa.com/read.php?tid=36130 for a complete list of a lot of other Smartphone-compliant JVM's.
I'll publish a BIG roundup of all these JVM's some time.
Interesting, I had tried all the 6, and many more, but none of them worked on my Dash. I thought it was because of WM6, so I flashed it back to WM5, same thing!
Coretek is a mess, all I get is a tiny window that does not show the apps installed.
Esmertrc, Jeodek and Tao are basically the same thing, like the one in Dash.
JBlendFullScreen is different, but the keys are totally messed up.
Alt-Tab
I tried seaching the forum but i cant find the small util for alt+tab. Anyone can point to me where i can get it?
schap wm6 pro 4.01 comm manager:
im using 838 pro and i read through all pages and still cant find the solution to my problem.
i changed to the on/off theme for comm manager. the words are fading and mixed up. the background are all black, not as those appear in the picture. i cant see the buttons. how can i get this to work properly? that's my only problem with this rom other than this, its great. Thanks schap!
memmaid vs sktool
what is your opinion? is memmaid better than sktool or install both? will both clash registry due to 2 different program?
thanks in advance.
Alt-Tab
Here you go.
schap wm6 pro 4.01 comm manager:
Not sure on this one since I haven't used it.
memmaid vs sktool
Try them both and see what you like. I personally have used both and liked the "robust-ness" of memmaid.
thank you!
Just a quick question. I previously had a rom on my Hermes with a particular task manager that I'd like to put back on the phone. However, I can't remember what the task manager was called.
I think it was included as part of one of Schap's ROMs and had the functionality whereby you could tap top right on the today screen and the programme would pop up showing a line top right for each running programme with a red x button on the right enabling task switching or closing from here.
If anyone can tell me which task manager this is, I would be most appreciative.
That is HTC X-Button.
Thank you very much.
EDIT: Actually that doesn't seem to be it.
Any other suggestions?
it's the latest version of X-button
HTC X-button became HTC Task manager. I think it's version 2.xx
You need to dig it up and find it.
look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=344533
I belive this is the cab: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=58146&d=1195041040
Schap's 4.30 thread lists "Task Manager 2.0.31249.1", and that (2_0_31261_1) is the closest match. If that's not what are you looking for, specify better.
And exercise your search skills, all that was found in 10 minutes.
nanastas, mine's newer!
That's it! Thanks very much.
And I did search, but it's hard to do when you're not exactly sure what the programme is called, and there are lots of task managers around. I spent nigh on an hour installing things and removing them before I asked for help.
10 minutes?
ah- that's the reason. I spent less than 30 seconds linking to that thread in Dev&Hacking.
Yours is newer, but mine is probably bigger.....

P.S. WM 6.5 is better? You think i should upgrade?
Can anyone help me?
Use SPB Phone Extensions. For the GPRS connection, make sure you get a "Disconnect"-Button in the GPRS Bubble. If you don't know how, I can tell you how it works.

Yes, WM 6.5 Comm Manager is definitively better and quicker than 6.1.
However, note than WinMo 6.5 is a beta release, so it will have some bugs.
Yes 6.5 has it's own comm manager
check some screen captures from my ROM, it is displayed there
It's pretty fast, simple, and finger friendly
(Same goes for the menus: WinMo 6.5 is now FINGER FRIENDLY
FingerMenu and other apps are not required anymore
Finally, No more TF3D apps into our Xperias)
Check screen caps here:

The comm manager on that Screenshot is also available under Win Mobile 6.1, at leats it's on my Xperia. You will find it in Windows directory. It's an Exe, I think it's called Wrlsmgr.exe. At least it starts with W. Looks exactly the same. Speed is okay.

The new CommManager from Topaz and Rhodium can be added to the exclusive list of the HTC taskmanager. This way its always running and up and running in the blink of an eye ...
Hi,I'm bored with the "Tap hee to launch TouchFLO" because it appears everytime when i go to messages and close them..Can anyone tell me if there is any solution to make touchflo launched pernamently?
Buy a phone with more ram....
Alternatively you could look for a rom with more free ram, and if you are running HTC Task Manager then reduce the kill-threshold.
Amen to that!!
