What torx do I need for my blue angel screen ? - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

Hello,
I broke my touchscreen and ordered a replacement from ebay.
It came with a torx t6 screwdriver which allowed me to open the case.
However the screen itself has smaller torx screws. Can someone tell me if this is a T5 or T4, or even smaller ?
thx !

you will need a T5 torx screwdriver

great, fixed my blue angel.
Took me quite a while to get my hands on a small torx site.
thx !

hi
i have your problem but i contrite for removing that(after removing it geting worse) since i haven't laser cutter or milling machine i cant do any thing and i forced to stik lather instead of metal
i recomend you if you want to do that embed a tiny knife or blade betwen the plastic part and metal plate if you use long knife it better embed it far as you can (becareful you may cut your hand / scratch plastik part use a piece of cloth to prevent this) then rotate the knife or pull it up-> (use two khife at the same for pulling up) and be careful the plate maybe lost her face
sorry for my bad English
i hope these are usefull for you
Sounds just like I suspected the Metal cover plate is stuck down with a double sided tape then.
Nice idea the leather, could add some protection.
Hi !
I am not REALLY sure, if this can help you, but I think so. I do not remember, where I found this, but it helped me, when I had to exchange the front cover of my Universal some months ago...

I hope this helps !
Cheers,

I've got this manual already, what I what to do is remove the metal plate fitted in the centre of the top cover. Basicaly I want to de-brand my XDA uni form the Mobi operator and to pimp my XDA Uni.
The manual only gives info on removal of the complete top cover but not the metal plate.

Samsung Epix Digitizer Replacement help

Ordered a new digitizer for my Samsung Epix and it is the correct part and the digitizer just sits in the bezel, I assume its glued on but cant figure out how it comes off. Anyone done this before on this phone or have a tutorial or how-to?
Thanks
Mike
Just did it today. Wish I'd taken pics. You have to take it completely apart in order to connect the new ribbon cable as it attaches to the underside (bottom) of the circuit board. There's 6 screws that need to come out, the bottom 4 being obvious and the top two hidden, one under the stylus, the other under a rubber plug at the top rt corner, which you just pry out to reveal the screw head.
Once the screws are out, use something plastic to separate the case halves, I used an old credit card and started prying beneath the memory card slot. Then you can see the little ribbon cable on the bottom right side of the circuit board, folding around from the front. Be VERY careful when removing the ribbon cable from the board. You have to lift a small latch upwards and to the left , ending up with the little flap like lever standing straight up , to release the cable. The cable goes back in by inserting it and closing that lever to sandwich the cable in place.
The digitizer is held in by two sided tape that you may or may not be able to reuse. You will have to carefully pry it loose from the front bezel. I suggest you warm it with a hair dryer.
I had to use silicone gasket sealer on mine to hold it oin place as the sticky stuff came off with the digitizer.
Good luck !

SGN panel (full body)

After 3 hard falls on the floor in half an hour - the left corner of the metal frame has been seriously damaged. This with a couple of other small scratches made me wanting new panel. I think the front and back panel are part mounted to the metal chrome frame, so I need full body, can anyone tell me where can I found new one and what is the cost?

It is surprisingly affordable (less than $30 USD). Several like this on Ebay:

Why dont you buy a metal bumper instead? There is a review posted and it looks really nice.

[Q] [SOS] What kind of adhesive is used between the digitizer and the outer glass?

Hi All,
I dropped my note 2 two weeks ago and the screen was cracked.
The touch screen is still functional, so I ordered a replacement of the glass, followed the iFixit tutorial to disassemble it, used a heat gun to peel it off and applied the replacement on top of the digitizer.
However, the original adhesive was sticked to the old glass and was not possible to recycle. I tried to find a 3M sticker on eBay for Note 2, but there is none. I'm wondering whether I can put some kind of liquid glue between the digitizer and the glass, or a bigger 3M sticker then cut it with knife.
Thank you for your help!

Look for double sided tape. I think there's a link to the type you need on. Ifixit
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda premium
More specifically, 3M 300LSE. You can buy a sheet for 5-ish dollars on ebay that has enough material to do a few phones.
You can use the glass for a template/stencil. Also don't forget to cut out the speaker/microphone holes. You wouldn't believe how it can mute the ear speaker. Or how hard it is to figure out that you've done that and not somehow left the speaker unplugged...
Thank you so very much for the info!

Anyone replace the Z1 Frame?

Long story short, dropped mine pretty far, it bent the frame slightly, just enough to effect the waterproofing. I found an all black frame and one have one of these? I think the Z1 would look pretty slick with an all black frame.

oooooooo, i always hated the silver frame look around a black phone, please do post result pictures if you change it
Hi, I have replaced the entire outside housing and screen. It started off as a simple housing swap, cracked back battery cover, heavily scuffed and dented frame, and scratched beyond belief plastic bezels. I used a hairdryer to separate all of the housing. If you are doing this yourself, I'd advise you to be VERY patient and careful, because the lcd ribbon cables rips VERY easily, which is what happened to me lol. I bought a digitizer and LCD and loca'd them myself. The ribbon cable broke again. I ended up buying a complete screen costing over $100.
The frame in the eBay link looks like it is missing the magnetic charging port and possibly the speaker grill, so you'll need to extract it from your old frame. There is a tiny retaining pin that needs to be removed before you can force out the port. You'll need to superglue or glue it with a waterproof sealant/adhesive. The headphone jack is also a nightmare to remove from the old frame, It is very hard to remove without damaging it. The plastic cover became separated on mine so its safe to say I have lost waterproofing capabilities on my z1. All the tiny connectors flew out and I had to reassemble it. (very time consuming & difficult)
If you're only replacing the frame you'll need a T4 Screwdriver, the original back cover adhesive. You just need to be super careful because this is a difficult repair. Its hard to guarantee waterproofing afterwards! Anyways I wish you luck if you do because I messed up. There is also a detailed disassembly guide on YouTube which you can follow. The black z1 is before the repair, the white is the repaired z1, with black magnetic port and speaker grill, which I think looks nice and unique.
Mine's got a black frame(from the original), white bezel on the front and purple bezel at the back with a white battery cover. puple and white is good combo for me.
Thats the standard frame, not all black(very poor pics make it look all black) and the price is very steep even if it is an OEM part its around $20(+$13 shipping lol) more than from a legit OEM distributor. I would be cautious but OP did you receive the item yet?
haha this is exactly my story
bought housing, later screwed up screen, magnet port and audio jack so bought all that as well. also the water seal for speakers and mic.
it looks exactly like yours before it was black and now its white.
