8525 stuck on WM6 Boot screen, cant sync STUCK!

Hello folks,
I love my 8525 (Htc Hermes) however the WM6 OS is freezing right at the boot screen? It happend randomly for absolutley no reason. I want to try another ROM or a cooked ROM but I cant even sync this thing as it wont go past the WM6 boot screen, It will still go into the multicolored boot diagnostic screen and that reads:
HERM100
IPL-1.04
HERM100
SPL-2.10.Olipro

Get yourself to the multicolored screen and flash a stock ROM. Then you can upgrade from there.

Nearly there...stuck at black HTC screen when flashing?

I get as far as the reboot to bootloader screen when using a couple of the RUU ROM update exe's, the phone reboots into the black screen with the HTC logo and sits there, then a minute or two later the RUU exe times out with a 171 USB connection error.
If I remove the USB cable, I get the white screen with the skateboarding androids with the same sort of blurb at the top as the bootloader screen, but the only option is it says RUU but doesn't do anything if I push the power button like you do to select stuff from the bootloader screen; HBOOT 0.92.0001 seems to be the only line of interest there.
If I plug the USB cable back in it goes back to the black HTC logo screen.
If I remove the battery then I can reboot back to my old 2.2 WWE ROM.
Any ideas how to get over this little obstacle? I am using a goldcard and it's a debranded phone.
Cheers,
Joe
Bump. Anyone?
When it stuck on black htc screen, don't touch the phone.
Run the ruu again...
You can google error 171 to find the answer.
Dude I've searched the 171 and found many possible answers but nothing consistent. Do you know what the secret is to getting round it?
The most common opinion is ruu has some problems running under win7/vista.

[Q] Desire remains black after RUU

Hello,
first, i read the troubleshooting guide with slcd and blackscreen.
Ok, i got an Desire which shows while starting just the htc logo on white screen. I thought installing an RUU would fix this.
I am not allowed to post a link jet... The RUU is called Ruu-Desire 2.3 GB update.exe
This is the RUU i installed, in another forum it was sayd, that this would work on every phone except t-mobile branded. Mine is vodafone branded.
The RUU stopped at 59% upgrading the recovery.img and completey exitted. The phone shut down and remains black.
Before the RUU it was on version 2.29.62.2, or something like that.
Now it does not start in fastboot or hboot. Remains black and adb/fastboot does not recognize any phone.
So, is there a way to get it back to life?
Greetings
