Hi,
Anyone knows how to tweak the battery icon on the titlebar to only show the low battery icon after 20% instead of 40%?
same.
40% is much too high to be warning battery low.
same here since i installed black diamond.
also live messenger signs in, says im online, but doesnt display any contacts online.
they can message me and it works, but i cant initiate a conversation
i have that 40% thing too, was just waiting for someone else to mention it too!!
40% is too high!!
i thought this was an isolated issue.. but it seems to be WM6 RTM specific. is they any way to change it to another value (reg hack?)
Drooch
I Have this issue too, started searching the registry, but no luck so far. if anyone has any suggestions would be appreciated.
The same here. Think I got this 40% after testing LVSW latest ROM, but not sure honestly

Well, there're some problems with the dll file phcanOverbmp.dll.
We can simply hex the icon of this file to fixing the bug, maybe this's not a bug...
I thought it was an issue with black shadow hehehe. well, I'll just keep looking until someone comes up with a fix.
haha I just noticed this today on schapps and was scratching my head about it. I figured my battery was dying cause of the car charger.
There has got to be some quick registry hack for this
copy to windows folder, anna overwrite the same-name file,and then softrestart...

what exactly does this do? Remove the battery warning all together?
Hi Bingo123,
I trust you wouldnt trash my system so i have upload the dll for testings already.
Weird thing is Black Dymond's similiar Dll is 137K but yours is only 87K. I did a google check and that dll links to changing the U icon to 3G in many forums.
My battery is now at 80% let me check 3G icon also.
will keep all of ya posted. Wish me luck hahaha
This is what you need to fix messenger. I had the same problem so installed this. you can now add users too but not change avatar or display name afaict but it's a start

Huh? tcSPVm3100, We are talking about the Battery Icon on the titlebar. Nothing about Msns bro.
anyways, ITS FIXED!!!! YIPPEEE!
Bingo123! you are right. The dll fixed it. Thanks for the inspiration and guide!
For everyone else, Bingo123's DLL should fix the battery icon thingy but i when to look at the contents and saw some blank screens like phone background without a theme. I tested but didnt see any difference but then again, i only tested it for 1 hour.
Its really simple. Get a dll editor, (google it) and look for icons. I dont know why there are 2 lowbatt icons under 15 and 16 so i deleted it. Loading it back and it working A-Ok at least for the past 10 minutes with a battery amounting to 30%
Well, You have 2 options.
1. Use Bingo123's attached version or
2. Edit the DLL.
Good Luck
ugly 3g icon
i install the file from above it seems to have fixed the battery warning, but it changed the clean 3g icon into the ugly one.

But fixing the Clean 3G icon routes back to square 1. The Battery icon changes to a low battery icon at 40%. Does your patch also fixes the Battery issue?

Hi all,
I've searched both here and google for a plugin to meet my requirements. I'm after a small footprint battery monitor which will sit either in the today screen section of my Orbit or ideally in the same bar as the start button. I've seen a lot that will work but they either seem to be large footprint or just downright ugly. Is there an elegant solution to this problem?
Cheers in advance,
Ben
*edit* I know the stock O2 software comes with a mini battery icon but I stopped the Orbit from installing all of the O2 software because I found it made the device really slow and unresponsive, so i'm running WM6 stock with the HTC settings for O2 MMS/GPRS installed. *edit*
Battery Monitor
Try Batti - nice little app that sits on top of the Start bar and can be customised to different colours etc.
http://pda.jasnapaka.com/batti/
Thank you! Thats exactly what I'm after, the version notes for the most recent version only specify compatibility up to WM5 though, but i'll give it a go and if it works i'll post back.
Thanks again,
Ben
I can confirm that Batti v2.1 works for WM6 even though it's not listed as being compatible on the Batti site.
One comment, it seems if you have the battery info pane turned on for when you tap the battery indicator icon, the calendar button on the bottom left of your today screen is replaced with a notification button that when you press brings up the battery info pane.
I've not experimented to see if turning of the info pane on icon tap will remove the notification button and restore the calendar button.
Ben
Try this one:
Should work also on WM6.

I very much like this.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=364278
Does anybody know a trick to disable the battery status? I want neither the clock nor the Battery symbol.
Matthias
settings->today->items-> un check them!
No no no, I know what he means, I want to get rid off them too. The top bar, I would like to only see a clock instead of those symbols!!!
Requires a registry tweak but an easy way to do it is via this app - advance config.
If you've got a home cooked ROM it might already be installed otherwise grab it from this thread
Page 2 has settings for the top/start bar.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=317070
that´s what i am searching for, but the tweak doesn´t work correct. it disturbs the antenna symbol, it cuts one half.
I got the same issue? Any solutions?
I found this HTC Diamond Dialer skin at the other XDA section. It is very beautiful and I have tested it on my Hermes MRH ROM. Works well. You can check this out at:

Hey thanks. I just put it on my phone. Looks great.
Nevermind... it killed my battery icon. I removed the dialer and it came back. Guess I have to stay away from this skin.

Just reinstall the battery icon cab. Installing a dialer almost always messes up my batter icon.
I havent been able to find the new 1 incriment battery icon cab of the Diamond ROM.

If you do find it, let me know. I've just changed to CRC's 11.2 ROM with HTC Home, and I like it a lot. I would like a working battery indicator on the toolbar, and I haven't so far been able to find one that works for me.

If you're using my ROM, then you just need to change the registry to enable the battery meter on the toolbar... It will already update it in 1% increments...
the option is TBOpt etc - it's in the Hermes Registry wiki page.

Thank you for that, I'll find out how to do it. I'm guessing I need to install a registry editor, I don't remember one installed by default.
Thank you for your ROM, by the way. Three days in it's looking rock solid, and running everything I want quite quickly. It's nice work.....and sorry to hear of your loss. Not what I'd choose as a splash loading screen, but you're entitled to a little indulgence for your excellent work.
Thanks for the advice. It wasn't my intention to trouble you, I'm sure you have higher things to deal with, than the likes of me.
CRC, if running your rom, and if I installed my AT&T settings cab (which messes with the 3G icon as well.. havent found one that doesnt), will it mess up the 1 percent battery icon in the top bar? will it just make oit revert back to 10 percent intervals?

HTC Home should bring up the battery indicator on the top bar after you re boot. Or am I mis interpreting your question?

I needed to install a registry editor (I used total commander) to add a "TBOpt" string, with a value "1". I then powered down and soft rest the device.
I now seem to have a functioning battery indicator on the top bar (I also turned off the clock, given that I have HTC home with a big clock).
Thank you to you and CRC for your help.

Show Time,Date,both or Battery on top bar at Today screen
[HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\]
Time:
"ShowTitleBarClock"=1 / "TBOpt"=1
Date:
"ShowTitleBarClock"=1 / "TBOpt"=2
Both:
"ShowTitleBarClock"=1 / "TBOpt"=3
Nothing:
"ShowTitleBarClock"=1 / "TBOpt"=0
Battery:
"ShowTitleBarClock"=0 / "TBOpt"=1
And if you really want to have BOTH Time AND Battery indication on top bar at Today screen, then SPB Pocket Plus 4.0 application can do it for you. It creates its own indication of the battery status on the top bar and it can use the standard symbol from the OS or even better approach of displaying the battery level as a few pixel wide colored bar on the very top.

im not sure if this fixes my problem, ill try to explain
i flashed dvha79_ddt's 19965 diamond rom, which had the 1% battery status increments.. then installed this dialer (which i like the best), and it changed the battery icon. I'm trying to figure out if its possible to revert back to the incremental battery status icon and still keep the dialer, if not im pretty sure if i uninstall it i'll get it back. thanks again

I had the same problem and treid to uninstall the dialer. Remove programs gave an error that it did not uninstall the dialer properly. I rebooted and the incremental battery meter returned, and the dialer was still in place. I know this does not help, but it does show that the meter and the dialer can co-exist. Now only to find out why, or you could experiment with installing and uninstalling the dialpad
I installed the skin also and had the same problem with the battery icon, all I did with schaps advance config is put the time on the top(i usually keep it that way anyway) and ticked show power icon on the bottom tray. Seems to be working for me, just don't have that % indicator.
I recently downloaded a couple new battery icons for my HTC thunder bolt rooted with Liquid smooth 3.2 rom using the rom toolbox.
I was able to change it to a new battery icon but it turns out the one i initially selected is not a 1% icon as it was indicated. Anyways I wanted to try a different one but now it wont let me change it. I did the same process with installing both but no matter what the old one persists no matter what.
the new icon did initially show up in the status bar but when i went to show a friend it was back to the first one i downloaded.
I have 2 versions of rom tool box installed on my phone. The one that came with liquid smooth 3.2 and another version from 4shared which is version 4.5.2. the latter is the one i am using to change the icons as the one that came with LS 3.2 will not let me change them.
An interesting note, upon boot the factory (LS 3.2) wifi icon will appear and only after some time will the custom green one show up but the battery icon is the first one i downloaded right off the bat never shows stock. Also there is now an alarm clock icon to the right of the battery icon which was not visible before the first battery icon was installed and proceeded to go away during the short period where the second downloaded battery icon was being displayed.
Any thoughts? I am a beginner so step by step instruction are greatly appreciated. Also, not sure where to put this, it is a question but it is related to modifying in my mind so please don't trash me and my first post if it is in the wrong section, i will re-post if so.
Thanks, Mark
Maybe it has something to do with the rom toolbox you downloaded. I would just try and buy the one from the marketplace. It helps support the dev to make the product better and you wont have to worry about that virus thats going around on 3rd party sites!
Now It displays the new one most of the time but still shows the first downloaded one while charging and at intervals of 10% during discharge. Similar to the first one downloaded, the new one is also not behaving as a 1% icon as indicated but its slightly better, 5% instead of 10%.
I would definitely buy the pro version but how do i know that will solve the issue?
