Hi all,
I've searched both here and google for a plugin to meet my requirements. I'm after a small footprint battery monitor which will sit either in the today screen section of my Orbit or ideally in the same bar as the start button. I've seen a lot that will work but they either seem to be large footprint or just downright ugly. Is there an elegant solution to this problem?
Cheers in advance,
Ben
*edit* I know the stock O2 software comes with a mini battery icon but I stopped the Orbit from installing all of the O2 software because I found it made the device really slow and unresponsive, so i'm running WM6 stock with the HTC settings for O2 MMS/GPRS installed. *edit*
Battery Monitor
Try Batti - nice little app that sits on top of the Start bar and can be customised to different colours etc.

Thank you! Thats exactly what I'm after, the version notes for the most recent version only specify compatibility up to WM5 though, but i'll give it a go and if it works i'll post back.
Thanks again,
Ben
I can confirm that Batti v2.1 works for WM6 even though it's not listed as being compatible on the Batti site.
One comment, it seems if you have the battery info pane turned on for when you tap the battery indicator icon, the calendar button on the bottom left of your today screen is replaced with a notification button that when you press brings up the battery info pane.
I've not experimented to see if turning of the info pane on icon tap will remove the notification button and restore the calendar button.
Ben
Try this one:
Should work also on WM6.

With WM6 Magic Button draws its region with color different from that of remaining taskbar area (Magic Button area is of the same color, but much brighter).
Maybe it is because of new Microsoft color schemes with gradient filling.
Except for this, program works good.
Power meter works, no hangups after soft-reset.
Tested with Midget ROM (Got it from ed2k network, hehe).

Yes, this is one of the things that will probably make me prefer a good AKU3.5 ROM (e.g. Helmi's 1.3.1) over a WM6 ROM. I think the battery meter in Magic Button is excellent, as is the general task management functionality.
The problem is that Trancreative look as though they might have disappeared off the face of the planet, so a version that allows for skinning in WM6 looks unlikely :-(
Cheers,
Steve
Yes, I sent them bugreport, and server replied that message could not be delivered.
I see three solutions:
1) Do not use WM6. But I dont think that it is issue of Windows, so MS or ROM makers will never fix it.
2) Do not use Magic Button. Then question is a good replacement for Magic Button.
3) Maybe it can be fixed with other "theme"?
very sad that the developement stopped... im also searching an alternative to this great tool which has "a skin bug" because it doesnt support the new WM6 skins... well.. *cry*
How about WISBAR? Does it work well with WM6?
I use Magic Button mainly to show an icon of what is running in the background. Is there an alternative app that does this?
I've dumped Magic Button and cLaunch in favour of iLauncher, which seems a great little program. No task list option across the top bar (yet), but a nice drop down task manager if you click and hold the [X], and I have it set up to display when I press the backlight button too.
Works fine with WM6, and I have re-skinned it to look exactly like the battery meter in Magic Button.
Cheers,
Steve.
Can anyone here please help.
On my previous ROM, when I tap on the Radio Signal icon, I had the option to turn OFF/ON the Radio (FlightMode), now I only have option of opening CommManager, this is quit USELESS as there is amongst others already a CommManager icon* on the bottom of the screen AND a DEDICATED CommManager hardbutton on my TyTN and after using CommManager I have to use X-Button to close the damn thing...
Can someone please tell me the Registry key where I can change this back to Radio OFF/ON... Or at least a shortcut icon I can put in HTC HOME plug. to switch Flight Mode ON/OFF without opening CommManager each time.
I flashed my TyTN (Hermes) with WM6 and I am very happy with it. Most of the little annoyances I had with it has been sorted out. Installed the HTC Home Plug, Slither200?s Cube, other 3G dialer, etc, etc...
*Any hack to get rid of this and the battery icon (I use Batty) at the bottom of the Home Screen???
good question. i had the same request a couple of months ago. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=340567)

Yes, here are the keys (from the wiki):
Remove the Battery Icon:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\Power]
"ShowIcon"=dword:00000000
Remove the Wireless Manager Icon:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\WirelessMgr]
"Keep"=dword:00000000
You can also use Schaps Adv Config, which automates most common registry hacks for you.
The problem is, if you hide one or both some roms can hang when booting up, so i recommend only hiding one.
Thanx

I found this HTC Diamond Dialer skin at the other XDA section. It is very beautiful and I have tested it on my Hermes MRH ROM. Works well. You can check this out at:

Hey thanks. I just put it on my phone. Looks great.
Nevermind... it killed my battery icon. I removed the dialer and it came back. Guess I have to stay away from this skin.

Just reinstall the battery icon cab. Installing a dialer almost always messes up my batter icon.
I havent been able to find the new 1 incriment battery icon cab of the Diamond ROM.

If you do find it, let me know. I've just changed to CRC's 11.2 ROM with HTC Home, and I like it a lot. I would like a working battery indicator on the toolbar, and I haven't so far been able to find one that works for me.

If you're using my ROM, then you just need to change the registry to enable the battery meter on the toolbar... It will already update it in 1% increments...
the option is TBOpt etc - it's in the Hermes Registry wiki page.

Thank you for that, I'll find out how to do it. I'm guessing I need to install a registry editor, I don't remember one installed by default.
Thank you for your ROM, by the way. Three days in it's looking rock solid, and running everything I want quite quickly. It's nice work.....and sorry to hear of your loss. Not what I'd choose as a splash loading screen, but you're entitled to a little indulgence for your excellent work.
Thanks for the advice. It wasn't my intention to trouble you, I'm sure you have higher things to deal with, than the likes of me.
CRC, if running your rom, and if I installed my AT&T settings cab (which messes with the 3G icon as well.. havent found one that doesnt), will it mess up the 1 percent battery icon in the top bar? will it just make oit revert back to 10 percent intervals?

HTC Home should bring up the battery indicator on the top bar after you re boot. Or am I mis interpreting your question?

I needed to install a registry editor (I used total commander) to add a "TBOpt" string, with a value "1". I then powered down and soft rest the device.
I now seem to have a functioning battery indicator on the top bar (I also turned off the clock, given that I have HTC home with a big clock).
Thank you to you and CRC for your help.

Show Time,Date,both or Battery on top bar at Today screen
[HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\]
Time:
"ShowTitleBarClock"=1 / "TBOpt"=1
Date:
"ShowTitleBarClock"=1 / "TBOpt"=2
Both:
"ShowTitleBarClock"=1 / "TBOpt"=3
Nothing:
"ShowTitleBarClock"=1 / "TBOpt"=0
Battery:
"ShowTitleBarClock"=0 / "TBOpt"=1
And if you really want to have BOTH Time AND Battery indication on top bar at Today screen, then SPB Pocket Plus 4.0 application can do it for you. It creates its own indication of the battery status on the top bar and it can use the standard symbol from the OS or even better approach of displaying the battery level as a few pixel wide colored bar on the very top.

im not sure if this fixes my problem, ill try to explain
i flashed dvha79_ddt's 19965 diamond rom, which had the 1% battery status increments.. then installed this dialer (which i like the best), and it changed the battery icon. I'm trying to figure out if its possible to revert back to the incremental battery status icon and still keep the dialer, if not im pretty sure if i uninstall it i'll get it back. thanks again

I had the same problem and treid to uninstall the dialer. Remove programs gave an error that it did not uninstall the dialer properly. I rebooted and the incremental battery meter returned, and the dialer was still in place. I know this does not help, but it does show that the meter and the dialer can co-exist. Now only to find out why, or you could experiment with installing and uninstalling the dialpad
I installed the skin also and had the same problem with the battery icon, all I did with schaps advance config is put the time on the top(i usually keep it that way anyway) and ticked show power icon on the bottom tray. Seems to be working for me, just don't have that % indicator.
I tried pocketplus but it seemed to really have an issue on my phone, so much that I had to hard reset.
I am just looking to get the time (always) up top and the battery level too. Titanium only, no Manilla or Flo.
Any suggestions for a stock romer?
what kitchen are you using?

I am using a stock rom, no kitchens, just looking for .cabs that will help this out.
I will try the search for the Battclock, sounds prefect!
I personally use the battery bar app (it always displays a bar accross the top of your screen to represent your batteryb life)
then I go to my clocks and alarms setting and have the menu bar display the time.
this will allow both to be displayed at the same time.

I was using SPB PocketPlus which has an included battery bar, so I set it up the same as you describe. It seems though that Pocketplus (the version I have) doesn't play nicely with wm 6.5 and I end up with wonky problems. I did however install X Button and Battery Bar from SPB Pocketplus at the same time.
I will find that battery bar app.
Thanks!
not a problem buddy.
it is called battlineSvc. I got it from the Omarket.
Hi all!
I'm trying to make a ROM mainly for myself based on tomme45i's kitchen. I've gone pretty far with it, and I'll maybe publish it if anyone interested.
BUT now I'm having some problems with the ROM.
1. I've played with the settings of the clock/battery display on the tray. On other ROMs if I tapped on the battery, it opened the Power Settings window. Here I can't manage it. Same problem, if the clock is shown instead of the battery. Also as you can see, the battery icon is placed a little too close to the edge. Any ideas where can I adjust it?
2. Start menu. Exactly my problem is that the icons are not highlighted, so if I'm using the jog wheel for scrolling, I can't see which icon is selected (for better explanation see screenshot).
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
S100200
One of them fixed
Okay, I've managed to fix the Start Menu issue, a file was missing.
But the battery/clock tap-thing is still a question.
it's getting worse
Okay. I've managed some things to work, but now nothing happens if I tap on the tray icons. Only the start menu and the X-button works...
Something went wrong, but I can't find it...
Can someone help me with these issues?
Getting closer.
Okay, tray icon problem solved, the HTC X-button 1.5 was the problem. I uninstalled it, now the icons work normally.
BUT:
I've tried HTC Task Manager 2.0 ripped from a Hermes ROM, and it doesn't work at all.
Any ideas,why?
