Released Today: Pocket Quicken for WM Smartphone!

Finally -- financial sync for WM Smartphones! FYI -- the product page mentions WM5 -- but it's working great on my WM6 Dash -- 30 trial can be found at: https://www.landware.com/pocketquicken/wmsp/
FYI -- brings over investment balances only, not transactions or register; would be kinda nice if you could get share price updates, and have them update your Pocket Quicken -- but really not a deal-breaker. It's very nice to be able to capture debit & credit card purchases on-the-spot
YES! At last, my prayers have been answered!! I have been waiting for this for the past 2 years.
Cool. Just when I switch to PPC from Smartphone they release this. damn
It was already available for PPC -- you're covered either way now.

Windows Mobile 7 is comin……

A piece of news from Engadget says that WM7 will aim for spring 2010 RTM.Come on,guys! We will have a more beautiful spring at 2010.

why did it take Microsoft five years to release Zune??

I am currently reading Steve Jobs's biography, found out iPod was released in 2001 and Zune was released in 2006.
Why the hell did it take Microsoft five release to release a mp3 players to counter iPod?
Microsoft was not in the mp3 business before.

Neither was Apple. It only took Apple less than a year to develop and ship the first Ipod in 2001, it took MS five freaken years after the release of the first ipod to come up with the first Zune.
Seriously, what the hell? You don't give your competitor a head start than wait five years to come up with something.
Who really cares, its in the past! Get over it and move on with life!

post #2 summed it up perfect. Short and Sweet.
More info and history.
The iPod was not considered competition, since Microsoft was not in that business.
Other than that,
There were countless other mp3 players out there.
Microsoft dominated the operating system market and were making huge money with it and with Microsoft Office and other products. Windows 2003 Server was a strong area of development focus at that time as well, and XP had just recently been released.
That was also the era of Napster and Peer to Peer file sharing. 2001 was when Napster as a "peer to peer" file sharing service ended. It wasn't a true peer to peer which is why they got in trouble. (seperate issue)
The ability to just buy music was not readily available. People were still ripping from CD. Other true peer to peer services were widely used. So the fear in the industry was that people would not buy music if they could get it for free.
Then the iTunes music store happened in 2003 with DRM using the AAC format. People actually bought music when they could buy a song for $0.99 or what ever it was. It was cheaper than buying a CD.
Microsoft noticed. But of course they were not going to use Apple's file format and pay them money. So, they came out with DRM in WMA files. But they did not centralize, which caused grief for anyone who bough music for a store that no longer exists.
Zune kind of solved that since it's Microsoft. And DRM was included in Subscription based music. I believe it also existed in purchased music as well.
Finally in 2009 Apple removed DRM from the iTunes Music.
Not sure when Microsoft removed DRM from purchased music.
But there's some history.

Because they were mainly concerned with software and services for COMPANIES? SQL Server, Exchange, Windows Server, Sharepoint, etc.? Now Office365, Azure, Live services.
Entertainment division was started with Xbox, later Xbox 360.
Apple is producing fashion accessories and runs music shop, Microsoft serious work tools, they are not in the same business.
Btw, after reading Steve Jobs's biography, I have nothing good to say about him. He was a sick bastard IMHO, though successful one.
