my phone does not work : no service - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

I just upgrad my BA to WM5 with Helmi BA WM2K5 AKU .5_v1.4CF2. everything works fine up to yesteday. I was able to call and received phone call
my battery was off and when I restart my BA, the icon indicate no service. in addition I can not sync my BA anymore only as guest (I use act sync 4.5).
I look to some other old thread and notice that happen to some others BA owner in the past. does someone have a solution or something that I can try.
My BA is an O2 XDA IIs, and I live now in France. I was able to use my phone with WM2003S.
I am in France and I use Orange.
can anyone help me with this. I would like to keep using WM5 if possible.

How to upgrade the Radio version of a QTEK 2020?

Hi gentlemen,
I have a QTEK 2020 and have a very annoying problem: Every few days my phone loses its connection to the cellular network. When it happens - nothing is seen; everything looks perfectly normal (even shows GSM reception), however no-one can call me. When this happens, I can't initiate outgoing calls either. Only a soft-reset fixes the problem.
I'm using ROM version 1.72.00WWE and Radio 1.17.00.
I saw in this forum that there's a newer Radio version - 1.17 and I was thinking maybe it will solve the problem I have.
However I'm seeing updates to MDA II and XDA II.
Can anyone advise me what to do? Is there an upgrade to QTEK as well? If not - can perhaps someone "compile" a neutral version (no branding)?
And another question - is it possible to upgrade just the Radio?
Any help would be very much appreciated!
Thanks,
Ariel Cattan

Maybe masochistic: Anyone have the O2 active software?

This might be a bit masochistic of me, but I really want to try the "O2 active" software on my Blue Angel (not an O2 branded one). Does anyone have it ?
here you go....

iMate PDA2K (XDAIIs)
I have an Imate PDA2K, I tried the O2 Active Software you made available, but I'm guessing it was for the XDAII? Do you or anybody else have the o2 Active software for the XDAIIs.
Even better, does anybody have a version of the XDAIIs rom that will load on my PDA2K, without giving country ID errors?
Umm ..
What's O2 active?
The o2 active does not work. How do I activate it?

is the i-mate pda2 rom more stable than the xdaiii o2 uk rom

hi all!
i've got a very unstable xdaiii o2 uk
is the i-mate pda2 rom better?
i hope someone can help me cause its very frustrating!!!
thanks
Fantomas
personally, i found it better
Where can i find the latest i-mate rom????
I've found it better - though not significantly at least the lockups are less.
You can download it via:

thanks Jim and Anton!
an other thing, i'm getting lock ups with tomtom 3+ BT GPS. i know about the turn off phone method to stop locking but whats the point of having a pda phone edition then! so its got to be an other solution!
does the pda2 rom stops the above problem ? cause the radio version on the pda2 is higher! by the way i've already uninstalled o2 stuff!
or should i hard reset and go corporate on xdaiii (to see if lockups stops) before changing over to i-mate rom?
lastly! are the programs on the PDA2 excatly the same than xdaiii? (i mean all programs identical)
thanks again!
i'm impressed with this forum and all of you on it!
Fantomas
On TT3 I found lockups dropped substantially once I'd hidden the POIs - have you tried this? TT5 (now that I've added the POI and the 5.10) seems a lot better.
Some programs are not included like in the O2 version, but then also some things are included in the ROM as standard like the fax viewer, and also a copy of Skype. CallerID and MMS programs are still there as they're integrated into the ROM.

TMO BB Connect for Wizard also works on Universal!

I successfully installed and configured the recently published BB Connect program onto my Universal. T-Mobil Germany officially came out with the BB Connect add-on a few days back, and it turns out it actually is dual-platform-aware, Wizard and Universal.
It can be downloaded at ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/HTC_Wizard/BB Connect/mdavario_sw_bb_03-2006.zip
There is one *but* though. Until now, I only got it to work on TMO-UKs 1.20 MDA PRO ROM, but my suspicion is that it actually has something to do with the radio version. BB Connect works flawlessly on radio versions 1.06 and below (I saw similar behaviour on the Blue Angel devices where radio versions beyond 1.13 could not made to work with BB Connect).
Anyway, although initially I could not get it to work with the Jasjar 1.20 rom, I must say I did use the 1.09 radio. I will be re-installing the Jasjar rom later today, this time with radio version 1.06 and report back on the results.
(While I was writing this, I heard my "T-Mobilized O2 XDA Exec" happily signalling the arrival of new mail )
BB Connect working on MDA Pro
I can confirm that the BB Connect Client from the Wizard is working on my Universal.
It seems also correct that you have to have the t-mobile ROM installed. I tried it with the latest I-Mate ROM but it failed to connect after the initial setup. I then installed the lastest t-mobile ROM and now BB Connect is working like a charm...
Great stuff!!!
Cheers
version no
Wiz,
Kindly advise what version is your latest t-mobile rom.
Thanks & Regards
The combination that works is TMO UK 1.20 (or lower) and radio 1.06 (or lower)
Other versions (Qtek, Imate) work as well, as long as they are AKU1 and *not* AKU2
I can confirm that it DOESNT work on O2 Rom with radio 1.06, with VF Account and DE TMOB BB.. I will try to do the tmob rom update in the next couple of days...
will the tmob rom and bb client work ok with a VF account??

We have a BB Enterprise subscription and a BES at our central location. Our provider is VF Germany. I dont know if you can use BB with VF-Push but I _asume_ that it will work.
took the leap this morning as it appears the rom has other useful things in like an updated BT stack for BT Caller ID Etc..
Bottom line is it all dropped in ok, have BB coming down from our BES, bizarre thing is though the from address is shown as an exchange address and not email, and I cant reply as yet.. maybe something on our BES server needs tweaking..
Anyone know how to remove the Tmob links on the Home Screen? I've changed the theme back to Windows Default for the time being but would like to remove some of the Today ICONS that TMob stick on there..

Not working on T-Mobile MDA Pro German
Hi tried this, but I cannot get it to connect to the BB server. The software lists IMEI and BB PIN. It seems to connect for one or two seconds (for that time, I see an IP address in the status window), but after that, it disconnects and stays that way.
I phoned T-Mobile MMS (Multimedia Services) yesterday and asked them about it. To my surprise, they did not try to shake me off because I was using a Vario software with my Universal, but honestly tried to reproduce my problem - and succeeded in that.
They told me that the BB client for T-Mobile MDA Pro German should be released "early in April", gave me a EUR 10 Bonus on my bill and told me to watch their homepage for the software update. I'm quite satisfied with that

Works for me!!
It works for me... Radio Ver 1.09 o2 XDA exec... using it while roaming in Europe with T-Mobile USA Blackberry Intl Plan.. connects to both Instant Email and Enterprise. ... no probs... although it sucks compared to MS Direct Push... you need to switch APN's manually so that you can use PIE... also, it just feels like bloatware compared to the native push solution....i uninstalled it and continued using MS Direct Push...

Could you, please, confirm which versions of ROM, RADIO and ExtROM you use ? The only combination i was able to runn BBCOnnect was T-Mobile ancient ROM 1.20.120. Others never worked.
Would someone please be kind enough to post the ftp link to the exact T-mobile rom that works with the BB connect software?
Never mind I got it all running but I get no messages, I can send them but I have not recieved any.......
I had to call T-Mobile, they reset my location data in their system and now my BB is working!
Next I am going to try to install the O2 ROM, I did a backup using Sprite Software 5.1 and will do a ROM upgrade from T-Mobile to O2 and see if the BB works with that....
I posted this over in the wizard forum and was wondering if this was actually the better place.

Need some help.
Running a Univeral with the base TMO Rom 1.13.53 WWE and radio 1.03.01. I am running on the Cingular network.
I have installed the BB Connect software. It connected the moment the BES admin added me to the BES network, since then it has not really worked properly.
In looking at the Initial window for BB connect titled "Instant Email - ", I see Lookup, Settings, Register Now, Suspend and Hide enabled. Email Setup is disabled.
Under the Settings button I see:
Identity - my pin, my IMEI and sometimes an IP address.
Under the Status tab I see
Service: Not Connected, Data Tunnel Available, Network Available at different times, but typically Not Connected. I also believe that I see an IP address when I the state is on Network Available on the Identity tab, but since I can't see both tabs at the same time, I am not 100% certain.
I also have the option to suspend, restart, and uninstall on this screen. And a couple of Suspend Options.
Under the Service List, I see:
Blackberry [ALP]
Blackberry [CMIME]
Both of the above services are active. The CMIME Service has some synchronization options available.
Under the IT Policy tab, I see:
One was created yesterday and the name is default
Options Tab:
Connection: Blackberry Solution. Under the details button, APN -- blackberry.net, Username = rim, Password =password, IP Address - 206.51.26.189, Remote Port - 19781, Local POrt = 19780
Pim Tab:
Option to Sync Calendar.
About Tab:
Blackberry Version : 2.1.1.20
Transport Version 2.1.0.44
ROM Version: 1.13
System Version: 227.214.54.234
Device Type: HTC-Universal

USING GMAIL INSTED WORKING GREAT )...
I WILL KEEP THE REST FOR YOU......

Yes...the problem is Radio 1.14....i did test it .....alot of hangs....just try 1.13 working very smooth and also Arabizer
problem is 1.13 has very low voice quality and voice tends to skip a lot specially with vodafone..that was with inrda 3.3 b6 .
now am using 1.14 with mobinil...very very bad gprs performance..voice is ok though...
i will try to go back to 1.13
thanks a lot
sorry
I'm sorry to bother you guys with what will probably turn out to be an easy solution/answer, but.... how do you get 1.1 wm6 with radio 1.13? i figured (and already flashing) that i should download helmi 1.1 ( the x.rar file) and download the German 1.13 radio rom (only one available, is there a difference in the languages regarding the files it installs?) and overwrite the files inside the "x.rar" (helmi's 1.1 wm6 rom) and THEN upgrade? i'm really really confused here....
My dream would be:
A guide to:
Installing wm6
with stable rom/radio whatever
and WORKING gprs (t-mobile)
And that when someone calls me, it DOES ring, instead of a half second ring before the voicemail kicks in
if anyone would like to help me personally out with the first part, and a lot of people with the second.... i would be very thankful!
Muchos gracias from The Netherlands

the phone ringing bit! just goto phone pad> menu> options>services tab> call forwarding,. get settings then adjust the settings when they come onscreen ie untick forward all calls, or change the amount of seconds to "forward after"
Arabizer & Hard keyboard!

Hello astraman. Thank you for your post, it's really enlightening. I want to check something with you...
1. Agu_Gaby Arabizer built 347.
2. Arabizer built 337.
I have used Helmi, Indra & PDAVIET and installed both the above (1 & 2). I realized with #1, when installing the Arab_Keyboard_fix files, the enlglish typing with the hard keyboard, it allow 70 charecters as well as arabic. Whereas with #2, with the same Arab_Keyboard_fix files installed, I get 160 for english and only 70 for arabic!
Now what is the difference and how to resolve this?
If any of you members know what's wrong, please explain..
thanks
Where Can I Get The 1.13.oo Radio From?
Thanks
This idea doesnt work for me. I use Vodafone UK, and after this radio install, its been one problem to the other. Major hangs, going back to 1.14
Yes, you are right 1.13 is better tahn 1.14.1, as gprs in 1.14 wouldn't reconnect after a voice call, sometimes it hangs in dialing and doesn't work unless you soft reset. Those peoblems occurs also with many wm5 and all other wm6 not helmi only. But after downgrading to 1.13 it is better now and no problem in dialing at all, but the GPRS problem aoccured once with me. I am using Vodafone, and didn't try it with Mobinil. I didn't install arabizer yet, hoping to try that version comes bundeled with Jasjam, it was the best in wm5 but not tested yet with helmi wm6 v1.1.

what network do you use and where are you located? I think this might have to do with service providers. now I am back to 1.14 and my exec is happier .
I'm using Vodafone AU on Helmi 1.1 WM6 w/Radio 1.14...
No Problems here yet...
In Italy too with 3, no problem with radio 1.14
