Has anyone used b&b 4.3 AND Touch 3.01? - P3300, MDA Compact III ROM Development

As post title, has anyone on here actually used b&b 4.3 AND Touch 3.01?
Everyone that posts seems to have a preference between the two, but most people are judging the newer version of one against an older version of the other.
I would like someone who has used both to give their opinions on each and which one is better?
I am currently using b&b 4.3 and its wicked, but it seems to have slowed down a lot after some customisation so I am thinking of swapping to Touch 3.01 if its faster with similar features.
Cheers

I've tried them all
Meschle's tend to be faster than Tom's... and I'm not a huge fan of all black schemes...
I was using BB for a while, but found it slow, and switched to Premium Plus, which was ok, but also slowed down after a while.
I've now reverted to Vanilla 2.01 (a couple of days ago) and put on the Apps I need seperately, and speed, performance and battery life are much much better and instantly noticeable improvement, despite having to load on all the extras like Hbutton etc, and I don't overclock at all.

I tried both.
I agree with you guys that BB slows down after customization and installation of my favorite apps.
From the day Artemis Touch 3.01 (full no cube) released I use it till now. Very fast even with many apps installed. Plus memory leak is less than BB.
I 'm very happy with it. I will change it only if a newer release comes out.
Meschle did a great job (not that Tom did not ).

To me, the appearance of the rom is extremely important, and Tom's is much more graphically engaging than Meschle's.
Regarding speed, it hasn't really slowed down for me.
I only used Meschle's rom for a couple of days and probably would have stayed with it if the graphics (e.g. HTC Home buttons) were as good as Tom's.
Props to both chefs.

For me:
I've tried the touch 3.01 for about two days. It slowed down my htc and a I lost
plenty of storage..
So I changed to B&B. Now I'm very happy with this rom. It suits my requirements best.
I have a lot of storage left. And nearly no storage goes lost.
I'm realy satisfied with this rom - so I'm looking forward to the new release 5.0
Thx a lot Tom!
bye
peter

I installed Mesche Meschle Touch 3.01 Full with cube on the day it was released(11/11/07). Very happy with it, no hard reset until now. Soft reset usually about once a week. I would not change, only to update.

A hard reset is as the name suggests, it's a function of the hardware, it's not software dependent, with the two softkeys held down, press the reset button, you'll then be presented with a confirmation.

Yes i do this, but then write, that you must press send button to hard reset it, but ayn button i press it, is my orbit not hardreseted??? Which button is mean for send button?

I switched from B&B 4.3 to Touch 3.1 Lite without cube and I find the Touch rom is faster and more stable. The memory leak seems to be less of a problem than with B&B but they are both fine roms.

'Send Button' = the green phone button (for answer / initiate calls)

I've tried the Touch 3 and BB 4.3. Toms ROM looked great and was pretty fast but I didn't load up all my applications on it. I didn't really like the P-Bar prog as much as the simple X-Button. Also, his ROM was kinda light. A lot of people like that but I like not having to add a bunch of programs to get it the way I want it.
The Touch ROM was my favorite. W/cube there was a little mem drain but not much at all. It had most of the applications I was used to and was pretty fast. I would have kept the ROM but I was experiencing some problems with it that no one else seemed to have. So I switched to the Premium Plus ROM and it seems to be the perfect ROM for me. Pretty stable and functional if you soft reset once a week.
I don't care as much about the look as I do about functionality and stabilty. To me, Tom's ROM just didn't do that much. The way I figure, the more applications you have cooked into the ROM already, the less stuff you have to add, hence, slowing down the device and or unknown software conflicts. So I say pick the ROM that requires the least customization.

[SOLUTION FOUND_2_11_2007]schaps v4.0 coming out of standby, taking an age or just me?

Hi all
--------------------------
EDIT: 2/11/2007
I appear to have found a solution to the 'long time to come back out of standby' issue:
i had a bit of a brianwave when I was learning about pagepools and decided to investigate WHY it was only Schaps' rom that took such a noticeable time to come out of standby whereas other roms such as VP3G's and shamanix's were pretty quick.
Initially i put it down to rubbish handset.lol. but then decided no. that isnt the xda way!
so, i downloaded 4 different ROMs, VP3G's, Shamanix, AustinSync and of course Schaps'. I was determined to get Schaps' working as his rom is most suited to my needs!
so, upon opening each of the roms using the pagepool change tool, i realised Schap's had a 4mb PP whereas others had 6mb
so, i thought, lets see what happens if we change the pagepool, so i did. and it seems to have worked. it still takes a short time to come out (i mean not instantaneous like on the wizard) but a LOT less than the Schaps with 4mb PP.
so, i ask ye fellow users to try changing the pagepool.
the tool i found was on these very forums at the following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=323269&highlight=pagepool+change
and there it is!
so please, try it!
-----------------
I've been trying out schaps' various roms and i've realised it seems to take a while for the handset to come out of standby (i use the standby function a LOT) and sometimes you even have to press the power button twice!
is it just me that is experiencing this?
please dont get me wrong, ALL of schaps' roms that i have tried have been near enough perfect asides from this single issue. all the other roms i have tried despite coming out of standy instantaneously, they have other issues. issues which schaps dont have!
i just hope we can solve this slight issue!
w/thanks
duke.
Same here
I have ROM 3.54c from Schaps and I have the same problem... I find it VERY frustrating!!!
I was hoping that this would be fixed in version 4...
Good thread Duke_stix, I hope someone out there has the answer to our problem!
----------
HERMES 100
3.54c from Schaps
I haven't really noticed it yet really but its something that I have experienced on all the roms I try on occasion.
i use 3.60a
and it has a 1second lag before it comes out of standby. havent tried any other rom
Try VP3G's latest.... you would not be disappointed...Schap codes great ROMs, however when they are done and out of bugs.. but till then if you use your phone daily like most people do, then testing is not for you.
im not testing!
if you read my first post, i LOVE schaps' roms! the ONLY issue that i have found is the 'wakeup' bug, otherwise more or less perfect. with other roms, including VP3G's there are other slight problems like some today plugins missing, namely the wireless one, which i know there are alternatives and it can be downloaded and installed but id prefer it in rom from beginning!
there has GOT to be a way to fix this! perhaps a registry setting
schaps, if your reading this, please help!
U may have better luck posting this on the original schaps v4.0 thread!
Not a rom specific thing...
It's a Hermes specific thing.
The Hermes has always had problems coming out of stand by. Every rom I've used has had these lags. And yeah, some times I have to press the power button twice as well.

Help wanted
This is a very important topic...
Because of this issue, my 8525 seems slower than the old 8125... Kind of annoying for a processor twice as fast...
Please... Anyone... Any clue????
This lag varies depending on what you have installed and whats running. When i boot my device in safe mode using spb pocket + the lag is basicly gone. So just free up some ram and put only the apps that need to be on device memory on the device memory, other non crucial apps should be put on starage device.
Not a memory issue

I highly doubt that it is a memory issue since this happens on cold boots as well.
Moreover my Hermes currently has 22.8Mb free for storage and 19.7Mb for Program... Isn't this plenty?
ATI ImageON
Actually, isn't it what the ATI ImageON driver is supposed to fix?
Relating to all of this,, I wonder if the new Tytn 11 (Kaiser)with all its memory , experiences that same power/standby problem ? If the answer is yes, then either the problem (whatever it was) was solved, and we must learn what they have done differently in hardware or system. If they haven't fixed or improved immensely in the Kaiser, then someone out there (HTC) never have seen it as a major problem.. I personally have almost always had a lag, either on cooked or official.
on Hermes but not on Wizard
Actually, this problem is inherent to the Hermes - The wizard (slower processor and older model) is much faster to come out of stand-by. Someone at HTC must have messed up pretty bad - or ATI bribbed them nicely.
Hi,
I'm using the 3.60 full at the moment and didn't experience that, even I do use that version for a week and never recall have that issue as well, may be is physical unit related since some of you also discover the same symptoms.
Just sharing hope you don't mine.

Yes thats is true its not a rom specific thing. I use the dopod original rom and still it takes that long and some times i do need to press it twice before getting it awake...
Minimo guilty?
I tried the 6Mb pagepool trick on Schap's 4 ROM and the delay seemed to have shortened. However, after installing and uninstalling Minimo, I noticed a significant slow down of mt TyTn... It seems that the delay is back...
Am I the only one in this case?

Fastest most stable rom?

Hi guys, I'll be using a Hermes for a few months until my contract comes up for renewal but having had an iphone and an HTC Advantage for the last year or so I've been a bit spoilt in the memory/mhz department and now using the Hermes is like pulling teeth.
I didn't play with the standard rom long enough to know if I liked it, just dived straight in here, trying out some XDA-dev Roms. I've now tried manilla2D V8 and starbase's touchflo2d and although they look fantastic they seem painfully slow and riddled with bugs. This is not an attack on the authors of those roms, as I said they look fantastic and are hugely functional. I just need one ALOT quicker and without the bugs.
Any recommendations?

Their are limitations as you are aware with the hermes so any rom running hermes rom running touchflo2d will leave you with at or around 20megs of ram. all of the chefs have put out great roms so my suggestion would be to try ones with tf2d cooked in. performance and bugs are non existent in most of them or easily fixable. Good luck.
If you want a fast ROM, don't flash one with manilla or touchflow. They will bog you down. Try one of the lite ROMs out there from Joshkosh or Abusalza's PDA ROMs.

Best rom...
I was using crc's rom's clean design lots of usablity but i constantly had sync problems so tried Dvha79_ddt Rom's and they are all very good i am using V22 5.2.20748 Black basic NoBS and its is excelent.
I'm also using DVH v22 NoBS for months now (usually I flash around every other week) and it seems to be very fast and stable. If you're content with WM standard today screen (no fancy home plugins) I'd suggest go w/ it to conserve resources.
I tend to find most roms strt to get buggy the more 3rd party apps installed. It seems to need experimentation to get it just right but every ROM is different and will, eventually, go down if you're adventurous and keep putting more and more 3rd party apps on.
Cheers...

I'm also using this rom but I have a problem: when I press the side Power Button to turn off the device ( in stand by), any other press of another hardware button opens up the device, and this didn't happened previously (in wm6 rom). For example, even though the device is turned off by short pressing the power button, if I accidentally press the IE button, or the camera button, the device wakes up and opens these apps. What's the solution, any registry tweak to do?
Settings>Key Lock
so, what's the verdict?
I'm new to Hermes (still using Excalibur most of the time). With so many roms and so many suggestions, have you narrowed down to THE fastest and most stable rom yet, Dannyboy? thanks!
Well after trying 3 or 4 different roms before I started this thread and a couple after it I finally settled on PDAViet DVH_V27. It was without doubt the fastest and most bug free but did lack any frills at all. I added HTC home and my usual list of cab files without any problems or slow down.
However..... as usual after a few weeks I now find myself itching for something new so I'm now on here searching for a new one to try
How much free RAM left

Thank you for the info! Do you know how much free memory you usually have? I am thinking about running TomTom navigation software, but wonder if I will have enough RAM to do that. Thanks, again!
Faria 32 - winner
This ROM wins (hands down for me). I have tried at least 6 ROMs recently and really wanted one of the manilla 2D roms to be good enough to stay the distance. I just didn't find them stable enough. PhamQuang attemp is oh so close.
I finally got round to flashing Faria32 - No frills looks wise - but a great clean ROM that hasn't yet thrown up anything significant. For now I'm sticking with this.
Still waiting for the next best touchflow batch.
Fastest Rom!!!
TNT 5.2.19199 build 19199.1.0.0
SK tools 211 score!!!!!
here we go again, each one of us uses our hermes differently, there is no such a thing as 'the fastest', 'the best' bla bla bla rom.
You need to try each one and load the software you want and see if it is fast. For me I have found that ROM.
I agree with Zocster. Everyone's different and everyone uses their device differently. I personally (for everyday use at least, I love testing other ROMS) have settled on CRC's latest stable ROMS.
I use a mac w/ missing sync and haven't had any sync problems. I also have an xp box I use as a tech machine and though I don't really depend on it for syncing, I've tried it a few times and not had any problems.
Anyways, other than benching them all in the exact same conditions, it's pretty much impossible to pin down which is THE fastest, which is THE most stable.
The cooks and testers already dedicate countless hours/days attempting this with just one ROM and even that is often too time consuming and sometimes overwhelming. I don't think any of us really has the time to even try a task so daunting, besides, HW and network conditions vary so greatly that who knows how useful it would even be.
As mentioned, general rules apply, the less frills, the lite/naked/NON-BS ROMS are generally the fastest and most stable. As far as your personal preferences go, you've just gotta rely on other people's recommendations and your own experience testing and trying until you find one that works for you.
There have been plenty of good recommendations already, and as I said, I find CRC's latest stable ROMS to do the job for me, but I am always looking and trying new ones that look good.
So, if you really can't find one that works for you, either take up kareem4nba up on his offer and ask him to build one for you, or do some reading, research, download a kitchen, and start cooking.
But, as I said, generally fast and stable are more synonymous with the lite, naked, and non-BS, 'function before form,' "clean" ROMS.
But I digress and agree with zocster, there is no such thing as "the best," "the fastest," or "the most stable" ROM, there are so many uncontrollable variables and is judged based on so many subjective factors that there aren't and really can't be any "true" answer to this question for the ages.
This all doesn't even factor in the fact that there are constantly new ROMs, new cooks, new programs, new advances, the scene is always changing. So, even if you could pin down the "best ROM right now, but who knows what'll happen tomorrow or next week.
All in all, it's an impossible question to answer. All you can do is to use the process of elimination based on other people's opinions and your own experience. Sorry. Good luck. Happy flashing!
I actually don't mind seeing one of the threads pop up every now again...
Anyway it's all been said though I would add that Speed and Stability are not always mutual inclusive.
I find:
KareemNBA's and JoshKoss's to be the fastest.
PDACornerv25/ DVH Good Speed/Stability
Crc's Most Stable

How to increase my phones overall speed? (HTC Touch Pro 2 : T-Mobile)

I just got a brand new HTC Touch Pro 2 less than a week ago and I find it rather slow at times.
How can I increase the overall-speed of my phone?
Thank you.
You'll find LOTS of tweaks here. Start searching and reading...
For me the most noticable speed improvements came from:
Turn off ClearType.
Disable PushInternet.
Don't use sense (I use SPB mobile Shell).
There are many others that will have more subtle effects. Like I said, start reading...
turn off sense, use titanium, or some other light weight replacement
i used iPhoneToday and use it to replace Sense, it freed up 20mb program memory on my TP2 and everything is just a lot smoother.
Non of the custom roms are fast enough for me with Sense on.

Jack, go ahead and run the two cabs I have attached here, they'll do a lot to improve the memory management on your TP2. That will help the phone free up resources when an app or program is done with them. The first one is one of the 3 things that IMissPalmOS mentioned above ("no push internet").

That way your Rhodium will fly!!

The "no push internet" cab turns off the real-time cacheing of web data, and the "dynamic resource proxy" makes a simple registry change that lets the phone free up memory better when apps and processes are done using it.
HTC released a signed rom with sense 2.5 that is the fastest overall rom I have ever used. It just flies man. I use the European version but my buddy told me they released an American version recently. Either one will work just the same. This rom can be found in the rom developement section or on HTC's site. You wont be dissapointed. The only thing I added was duttys task manager because they didnt include it with the rom. Im talking about the task manager in the upper right hand corner. Here is the cab for that if you decide to flash that rom. I highly reccomend it cause of the speed and stability. Its the best. PM me if you have any questions.

Need help with slow downloading speed!
I have a t-mobile touch pro 2 running Windows 6.5 and already tweaked it with regedit and did the overclock cab and doing fine at 768. Yes the phone is much faster responding but downloading is still too slow. Did a hard reset days before the tweaks and was downloading fast then just slowed down again so I tried the tweaks to help but no success, can anyone help
gotta say I was about to give up on my Tp2 after years of loyal service, just felt so pokey next to my wifes HTC Incredible.
Then I decided what the hell, since I was gonna bail on it anyway I tried (for the first time) HardSPL and a custom rom, in this case MightyROM.
Anyway, its faster, a *lot* faster than any stock VZW rom I ever had (and due to my faithfulness to the TP2 platform Ive tried em all over the years) and it seems very optimized for speed. The only caveat is that it uses the WM6.5 start menu instead of the usual HTC one but that was no big deal for me, and Im sure helps reduce overhead. The phone boots up with 45%-50% memory used, compared to the usual 65% on the VZW roms.
So looks like I'll keep this a while longer, thanks MightyMike! Wish Id tried flashing a long time ago!
PS: I tried WinMoSpeed before flashing and noticed little diff, even @768.
MightyRom is definitely noticeably faster in comparison.
The TP2 is old...It's life is over...get a new phone and move on...
I still have one and my screen is cracked but, there is nothing in Windows Mobile that Verizon has that is any good right now, so Asurion cant help right now

Suggestions for a ROM for me. Please! Anything is appreciated!

Hey guys, school just finished so I have finally had time to play with my phone and mess with apps/ROMs. I used to run the Energy ROM, i flashed up to the new energy ROM but there wasn't anything i liked about it. Except I loved the Start button in the bottom row along with the soft keys. I have also tried the Valkyrie ROM (didn't like it at all) and the Leo Evo ROM, which was pretty nice except it runs slow and it seems kind of glitchy. In about 30 of straight use, I had to run a couple of soft restarts. Other than that I wouldn't mind the LEO Evo ROM.
I liked the older Energy ROM i was on, however I really want the Start button in the bottom left hand corner. I was trying to look for a cab for this, but was unsuccessful.
I wouldn't be opposed to trying a different ROM Im open to anything. I typically like to run the Windows Titanium screen because it runs faster than Sense for me, im a big texter, and I don't have data plan, so I need easy WiFi setup and workability (although this is no problem with the Keyboard Controller, I have it set to the back mute key, finally found a use for it, eh? haha). So lets hear what you guys got for me!
EDIT: Also, Is there a way to access the task manager with the Start button in the bottom left corner, besides going to start, then tools then task manger or whatever
I was also looking into the Titanizer, anyone know anything about how well it works? Thanks
I went through a few roms before installing Leo Cell Evo 9.1 (23XXX Build). While I was happy with roms I went through first, I was impressed with the Leo Cell Evo rom. There are so many things that you can customize to make it truly yours. You can also stick with how it installs and be more than satisfied with it. In the rom, the "Tweak Tools" are available under the programs tab and all the options are there. 3 thumbs up from me.
I have had good luck with the Energy roms with Titanium only. In order to get the start menu button in the bottom curtain you just need to flash a rom with a build in the 23xxx series. The 21xxx series roms are with the start menu on the top curtain. I find the 21xxx roms to be more stable and I like having the task manager at my disposal and to be able to take a quick glance at my memory usage as well with the 21xxx rom.

Wow, I like almost everything about the NRG ROMs. I would suggest that you pick your ROM and then stay with it for a week or so to get to know how it works. NRG ROMS in particular need to be tuned to make battery life longer, and the battery gauge is not so accurate for the first few days. I like the tools that he cooks into the ROM.
Yeah well with the 23xxx series, I was really satisfied withe the NRG with the bottom start menu but there were a lot of things that glitched here and there. Like for some reason, it took me forever to try to get rid of the keyboard once it came up in total commander or something like that.
This is what I have stuck to the longest so far. I have little things that bother me a lot, thats why I have been flashing a lot. Along with using the Titanium theme I use an app from the Marketplace called "Home Screen Customizer" which lets you remove and reorganize your ascreen and add an "Apps" page. I also threw in a Facebook and MS Office tab from the second link. But I think my final decision is cooking this ROM in the link with some apps and games from other ROMs. I'm not looking forward to all the work though. haha.

If you want the start menu in the left corner (windows 6.5.3 or 6.5.5) And the taskmanager linked with the start button, you should really check out the valkyre roms again.
Espescially this version valkyrie.ftp v6.5.23115tr2.5 25th april wm6.5.5 without extra tabbs. This is one of the fastest and most stable roms you are going to find here for the rhodium.
You said you didn't like that rom, what didn't you like about it? If don't like the layout, you always change it yourself. But if you want a really stable and fast rom, you should check it out again.
Ark's Rhodium roms are my absolute favorite.

i have used EnergyROM since February (Thats when i got my Rhodium) but Ark's roms are the fastest, cleanest, and overall best for battery life I have found. I love it. I highly highly highly recommend it if you like the stock look but a custom feel with a super fast shot of adrenaline in there!
If you get the HTC Messaging Client one then I suggest you install the newer version of it via CAB (if i find it, i'll post it here) because the new 2014 revisions of the HTC Messaging Client are faster-- i mean, if you text

But if you want a really stable and fast rom, you should check it out again.

its not so much the layout as the little things that bug me. I tried that built you suggested and it was nice but for some reason it always sent me a confirmation text saying that my last text I sent out was sent. I tried disabling it when I went into Message Options- then uncheck the box for delivery confirmation. I posted on the Valkyrie thread about it maybe there is a fix for it. I tried different styles but I like the standard threaded SMS (similar to the 6.1 style).
and shishir95, I tried to look at that ROM you suggested and I had to make a htcpedia account and I did not get a confirmation of my account yet.. I did look at some of the ROMs and apps and im awaiting my confirmation now

Which cooked ROM is best for Tilt 2.

I have a Tilt 2, and although I love the phone, had it for two months now, it can be a clunker if I don't power it down frequently. Looking for a good, stable cooked ROM that will speed things up, get rid of the AT$T cotton candy and be able to use all the functions of the phone.
Anyone have a favorite. My current system is stock , (2.1.19183217.0)(is not sense version). Can I use Sense 2.1 or 2.5 on my phone?

The e2 ROM and the WCX ROM are both cooked specifically for the Tilt2. Your hardware keyboard should work with either one with no modifications or additional mapping.
It seems to me that the e2 ROM keeps a few more of the AT&T specific software, but in my opinion both ROM's are pretty much the same with personal preference being the deciding factor.
If you flash just about any other ROM, you will also have to install a cab to remap the keyboard to the AT&T setup, and may even have to do some modifications in the picture messaging.
e2 has a version without HTC Messaging which many people believe presents a lag problem in just about any ROM. He has a version with the older ArcSoft which is probably what you are used to.

People always ask "what is the best ROM", but what is best depends on what you want in the ROM: aesthetics, features vs. lean & fast, what apps are cooked in, etc.
Personally, I've been using the Energy ROM on my Tilt2, and I love it. Great combination of eye candy, speed and stability. After you flash the ROM, just run the Carrier Provisioning in Tools, and it will map the keyboard to the ATT layout. Everything else works perfectly on ATT's network without any tweaking for me, NRG has already figured out the carrier specific settings to make it amazingly easy.
IMHO if you pick a ROM that is designed *specifically* for the Tilt2, then you are restricting your choice greatly. Most/all of the other ROMs should work fine on a Tilt2, just with a cab needed to map the keyboard (which is trivial).
I would ignore the Tilt2 bit, and just pick a ROM that looks good to you, and give it a try.
Yes, you can use either Sense 2.1 or Sense 2.5 on your phone, also there are other front-ends too, like Cookie, MaxSense, Titanium, etc, etc.

If you have a cab which will map the ENTIRE AT&T Tilt2 keyboard, I'd like for you to post it. I agree that it is trivial, BUT, I've never yet found a keyboard cab which will map ALL keys, including the OK key, to work properly. I have tried many different ROMs on my wife's Tilt2, and yes, many of them look great. However, IF it is important to you to have the AT&T mapping exactly right on all keys, like it is to my wife, I have not found any of the others which will do that with an "add-on" keyboard mapping cab. As I said in the beginning, if you have one which will do this, please, please, please, send it my way. It would open many doors, and many other ROMs for me to try.
Personally, I never even open the hardware keyboard on my Verizon Touch Pro2, so keyboard mapping is not a big deal to me, but the first thing she does when she pulls the Tilt2 out of her purse is pop open the keyboard, so that has been a big issue in our search for a good ROM for her use.

The problem I've had with Engery rom and every other rom that insists upon using transparent sliders and clocks is the "bleeding" through on the contacts page. In my opinion, that bleeding through looks very unprofessional and unfinished. See picture below:

So you would prefer to have the last row bottom completely covered?

Well, it is not really the last row, it scrolls up for even more rows. Once you scroll up past the slider bar, it would visible.
I like the energy roms but the e2 and wcx are the only ones with AT&Ts agps settings it seems. I've tried the .cab of AT&T nokia and google settings but it's still difficult getting a lock on other "generic" roms instead of the AT&T specific roms.

try this. i use it on my tilt2 and havnt found any mapping issues. except for the OK key LOL but the OK key pops up bottom right, right next to you're thumb anyway.
Energy Rom gets my vote....awesome...a lot faster and more responsive than stock plus it looks better to me as well.
Guys, I have no need for ATT bloatware, HTC messaging, MS stuff like Marketplace, MyPhone, etc. Even stock music player is crap. Prefer to install separate programs. Free MB is of great interest. ROM working with GPS is a must. Functionality, speed, free space is much preferable to looks.
Could you give me some leads if you encountered any "lite" ROMs for ATT Tilt 2 out there?
Thanks.

Truer words were never spoken. I have no idea how, or when, even why it started. But man I'd like to have a quarter for every minute I've patrolled these forums searching for that ever elusive perfect ROM.
My name is Gary . . .and I'm a ROM junkie . . .
I have had my tilt2 for 3 weeks and I searched and searched for specific tilt2 stuff. Even though I was really nervous to flash it I flashed the "Energy Standard sense" ROM and it was great. I used the TILT2 keyboard cab and it worked perfectly. I use my Tilt2 on T-mobile so it had provisioning for that cooked in as well. I wanted a little more "polish" and adjustment to it and so I now have the "Energy Dinik Glass" (June.7) ROM and it is amazing! No issues so far.
Just an fyi...for some reason all the energy roms I have flashed have really slow touch sensitivity but within a few minutes and a soft reset everything is speedy as normal.

Chasing the ROM dragon *LOL*
Guys, I must confess that I'm guilty of the same thing as well. However, I think that part of it is encoded into our DNA. The other part (if you're married to a penny pincher like I am) comes from our spouses. Let's be honest about this...guys love gadgets. That's why we have Spike TV & G4 (Thank God for G4!!) My point is this...since my wife won't let me go and buy the next latest, greatest phone each time a better one comes out, my only alternative is to change what I already have - hence the constant changing of ROMs.
Recently, it became a necessity because I had been a FUZE user and was devoted to TAEL's ROMs for quite some time. But then when I got the new car and the Tilt 2 was the only thing that would work on it (bluetooth car audio functions), I knew where I had to go to make the boring 'stock' Tilt 2 into something that I could use and be efficient and effective in my job. That's where NRG comes in. With no disrespect to the other ROM makers in the Tilt 2 forum, NRG has come through for me time and again. There are very nice things from the other guys, but NRG seems to know exactly what I NEED and he puts it out there. Mind you, I'm not even talking about the bleeding edge 23xxx stuff. I'm merely talking about the tried and true stable 21xxx ROMs that get delivered. Sure there's an occasional bug sometimes (who hasn't seen one?), but he's quick to fix them and the next release to us. (Which reminds me, I need to make a donation to him today because he has pulled my ass from the fire more times than I care to count.)
I'm sorry if I got on a soapbox, but this whole forum makes me very emotional. Before I knew how to flash ROMs and knew what was out there, a phone was merely a phone. But then all you guys came info my life and you shared your knowledge with me without condescension or bellittling.)
That's my two cents for what it's worth.

I appreciate your post!
I see you are using ROM : EnergyROM 21903/Sense 2.5/Cookie Home Tab/May 16
It looks like I cannot get that anymore, therefore I need to go to:
Energy.RHODIUM.21905.Sense2.5.Cookie.Jun.11.7z
?
Thanks!
So there's really no way to completely remap the keys on a Touch Pro2 ROM to match the AT&T keyboard? I only got my TP2 a few weeks ago, but I've been travelling and haven't had the internet to test out many new ROMs (just threw on Energy ROM before I left). Been using an unmapped keyboard for a few weeks now...
Just curious if there's a better way.
