changing rom language... - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

I've been trying to change a chineese rom into english.I've replaced all string in rgu files and also all *.804.dll.mui into *.409.dll.mui files.
But:
1-default.hv and user.hv seems to have some chineese references too.I cant use rgucomp as it doesnt correctly translate file. What else can i do?
can i use this file from another rom?(i've tested with another rom but it rom then didnt boot, maybe with exact same os versions?)
2-some *.409.mui.dlls are not available in english roms, what should i do about corresponding *.809.mui.dll files?
3.i also cant change these two registery settings, when i change no boot!
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\nls]
"DefaultLCID" = dword:804
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\nls]
"SystemLCID" = dword:804
4.what other things should i change?
thank you!

Nobody?!!
We have this too many rom cookers here and not even 1 answer?!

I've got extracted packages from m$hit emu, i tried to put them into rom (replace _0409 - source was wwe) but it looks like it's not enough (i changed initflashes.dat there were instr. to create folders like \x00ea\x00ad etc - hexa codes of chars to normal strings). ROM was compiled w/o problems but after 1st boot align screen didnt appear and calibration is wrong, after pressing win key appears only today item and replog.exe's icon. but rom is in desired lang. What else must be changed? boot.hv, user.hv??Please help!!!

How to add new time zone to regional setting

Hello,everybody:
I upgrade my phone with an english rom, i found that my time zone(country) excluding in the rom. How could i add it manually???
for example(1):i can't found "traditional chinese(big5)" in the regional setting, how could i add it by myself?? using registry editor or re-edit the rom file??
e.g.(2):When i use some software, which can be selected region(like lation(xxx),US(xxx),Traditional chinese(xxx)......). with older rom, the software will show me "traditional chinese(big5)" selection, but the new doesn't. I had this problem in using mToken, if you used this software, you might know what i mean.
thanks a lot.
U probably be the one asked in Mobile01 too. Basically, U need to replace the wince.nls (use Resco Explorer if you don't know how to cook rom) from Chinese Rom. But you also need to put Chinese font under /Windows (or /Windows/Fonts) to displace Chinese

thanks for your reply.
I had already replace chinese wince.nls with the eng rom, and put the mingliu.ac3(chinese font) to /windows. I know the process to display chinese in a eng rom. And my phone can show chinese correctly.
My problem is not the "chinese display" question. I found the eng rom didn't include "chinese tradiotional" in the "regional setting". Of course, I can set clock to taipei, but the regional setting(地區設定) is lack of chinese traditional.
finally, i get rid of it. It is wince.nls problem.
I don't know why I could use it all right before but now.
After re-install wince.nls , the regional setting is ok.
Thanks Jack.

[i780] FR rom connection fix

Hi,
I want to create a bin file with my dumped rom (HHC2 FR), with the Samsung i780 kitchen 0.2 beta, but there is a connection issue.
Like famusc wrote in his post, the problem can be fixed by use another bin with the same language for the conversion. But all the bin I found has this problem.
Does anyone have an old french rom which works fine ?
If not, do you know how to fix this issue ?
Is it possible to fix it with the use of another rom language for the conversion ?
If I find a way to fix it, I'll upload it here.
Thx.
No one can help me ?
We have the same problem with the German rom. It seems that we can't use the kitchen to cook the rom and have to find another way. But here comes the problem. Maybe someone could give us advise....

I am inclined to port my WM6.1 release to "some" euro locales (Germania, Italino, French etc) I have ideas on how to do that but I don't think I have the time to selectively port the required MUIs.
I understand that, but maybe you can give us hints on how start filtering the MUIs or what you think we have to do. Just replacing the zylonite_keypad_Us.dll and the S00x files brings the result that the layout changes but the mouse and the touchscreen seem to not get along with it...
What do you think???

Changing the keyboard driver alone will not be sufficient. You need to have supporting MUIs to make them work in harmony. The MUIs need to be salvaged from pure Fr (for example) rom which runs on the desired DPI. IE, the MUIs must be extracted carefully out from the donor rom and then placed in the kitchen with the proper rgus that correspond to the Lang ID. But finding intact MUIs can be a problem in itself. Was there any official release for i780 Rom in Fr?
I don't know if there was in France, but in Germany we have an official release and I have the dumped files extracted from the clear german rom too...

So I assume that Germanic keyboard is applicable to Fr as well?
No don't think so because in France they got azerty and we here in germany have the qwertz layout. We just have to change the Y and Z... I don't know if it makes that easier... So you think that replacing the zylonite_keypad_Us.dll or editing it is not he right beginning...?????

I think you are on the right track, just that you can't rely 100% on that alone. If you are familar with rom cooking, then you can explore with sourcing out for MUI files from other roms (not necessarily i780) and do trial and error in cooking them.
Ok thanks for helping... I will try some MUIs from other ppc. But I think the problem is that the zylonite_Keypad_Us.dll is Samsung made think...
Thx for helping.
Is there a simple way to just fix the connexion issue in an fr rom ?
I have the raw files, the bin file and I just want to make change to this rom.
The connexion issue is : there is no connexion at the first start of windows mobile, IE and WLM don't work...
I only want to correct this bug, can anyone help me ?
Can I fix that by edit reg config ??

How can I change the language files?
How can I do this? I must to unpack the rom file, change the language files and then rebuild the rom file? Please, help me!
changing the rom as far as I understand is very very very much work
few people have don it and never with 100% success
the thing is that there is no language files
text is hard-coded into exe and dll files
and each of them have to be manually changed using a hex editor
This means that I must learn chinese language?
Ok ok... It's a joke... Can I install a similar rom image of a similar device (same processor family, same resolution)?
