Any one can backlight & keypad on when i am sliding the hermes ???
hmm... cover the sensor with finger before using any key on the keyboard and light should com on.
You can set the keyboard up to not be light sensitive so the backlight comes on every time you use it, but that doesn't mean when you slide it the light comes on... I still think thats a limitation of the keyboard setup. It would be nice, but all you need to do is push the bottom right button, for arrow over, that shouldn't affect what you need to type, instead of typing a letter, deleting it and they start typing over again.

Each time the keyboard slides in or out the screen rotates.
Usually I slide the keyboard out to work with the device. After working I power off the device and slide the keyboard in.
When working again I slide the keyboard out and turn it on (usually it turns on after sliding automatically)
But, it seems that while the screen was off the device rotated anyhow! This means that it has to rotate again when I turn it on. I don't want this. When the device has to rotate, I will do it manually!
So, does anyone know how to disable all this automatically rotating?
I do not understand what you mean. I followed what you did and whenever i turned the screen back on the rotation was always correct as to whether i had the keyboard in or out.

The problem sometimes is that rotating takes some time. In between the screen stays black. So it looks as if the device does not respond and therefor I press the power button once more. I now learned to perss some button on the keyboard - when the light goes on the device is on, but thinking what to do to rotate.
Is there a way to get the hardware keys to light up with the backlight? Sometimes I find it hard to find the buttons in the dark (especially the start button). It would be good if when the backlight came on, the hardware keys also lit up.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
There is a light sensor on the left hand side of the keyboard. I put my finger over it and push a key and then it thinks its dark and turns on keyboard. It will stay on until it times out but will stay on as long as you are typing. You can also set the timeout level for keyboard

I'd like to know how that is done. Running WM6.5 official HTC Rom.
The change in the registry I tried, didn't help, was for WM6.1.
Can you tell how to do it or post a link, maybe? Thanks!
Is there a Register key that turns the keyboard lights off permanently on the HTC Tilt 2? I have PHM Register Editor installed and have found the following values under the BackLight key folder.
My problem is: the back light on the keyboard never goes off. It stays on continually even when the keyboard is not extended. The kicker is this: when i power the phone off, the keyboard back light "still" remain on and the phone gets vey warm unless i take the battery out to truely 'render the phone powerless'.
Anyone know the values to adjust if at all to these keys (or another?) that may turn the backlight off:
KeyLightAutoSensor 1(0X00001)
LightDetectOn 1(0X000001)
QKeyLedTimeout 1(0X000001)
Resolved: The next day, the keypad lights finally works properly, they go off when the keypad is closed and turn on when extended (HTC TIlt2). PLUS: the keyboard back light now turns off with the rest of the phone when i power it down. STILl do not know how the backlight started staying on despite the phone being turned off. Its a sign for sure that it's time for a new phone. I guess its Android time (i dont like windows 7 .. too locked down)
Hi all.
I'm having an 'interesting' keyboard problem/bug. It seems as if the keyboard is too 'high up' on the screen (as in z-position).
In the attached picture the blue 'cursor' thing (1) that you drag to move the cursor around sits under the keyboard meaning you can't drag it.
Secondly, when holding down the '.' (2) key to bring up the symbols quick menu, it seems to appear under the main keyboard. I'm only guessing this because the main keyboard dims and the symbols are still entered if you randomly touch the screen near where they should be.
So far my only solution is to reboot.
Any ideas?

Yes the hiding keyboard problem happens to me as well but it's so rare, I didn't really give it much thought. Just use the Sym keyboard.

Has anyone had a problem with the capacitive buttons not lighting up? The back button (on the right) does not light up at all anymore, and the recents button on the left only comes on if I am scrolling on the screen. Both buttons work, just not always lighting up
I'm on my second Note 4 and neither one have I had any issue with them lighting up.
Not sure if this will fix or help, but in settings->display the option "touch key light duration" will allow you to choose how the capacitive buttons light up. Maybe check that setting out and see if you can get anything to change in your situation. Good luck!
