Media Player in Black Majiks WM6 Rom? - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

Does anyone know the name of the media player that is bundled in Black Majik's WM6 rom? I liked that player because it allowed you to edit the MP3 to make your own ringtones directly from your phone.

any HTC audio manager will allow you to do it.

Can you download it separately? Plus the AT&T 8525 and Tilt doesn't come with it.

Yes, any of the newer roms should have it in the add on's folder.

YEAH!!! MP3 RINGTONES for the XDA IIs users

anyone tried this?? it claimed to work
There is no need to buy this program just put any MP3 files in your "rings" folder in the windows folder on your PPC Phone and then they will come up in the ring tone list when you pick ringtones. It's then free. We all love FREE.

in case you dont know, MP3 format cannot be supported as incoming ringtones for the XDA II, XDA IIs
I have an XDAII and was able to use MP3 as ring tones without any issues, either with 1.72 or 2.20 ROM.
no, the IIs does NOT support MP3 in the phone ringer app. The device can play MP3s via media player etc, but they are not supported as ring tones.
WMA is supported as ring tones.
No major biggie for me as I don't wanna use the full bitrate MP3 as a ring anyway - just conver to a Mono 22Khz 48bps WMA instead and only convert the 30 secs - 1 min that the phone would actually ring for.

How come? Please assist me ... thx
guys... just use a free prog (I use audacity) to convert to wma.
You generally don't want all of a stereo mp3 as a ring anyway.
I just take the bit of the mp3 I want as a clip in audacity, and convert it to mono mp3 with a low bitrate. I generally turn the db up as high as it will go (without clipping) as well as you want a ring loud. Audacity will also loop a clip and let you trim it to get it to loop just right.
Then just pop the wma in the rings folder and viola !

How do you get Audacity to convert to .wma??? it only does .wav, .ogg, and .mp3 - as far as I can see..... :?
Mamaich's new WMP10 rom (found in the Blue Angel upgrading forum) gives the XDAIII mp3 ringtone support.
On MS website (Windows Media downloads section) there is a free down load that will convert MP3 to WMA, will even do Bulk folders if you want

Yes, I did, and WMP10 run smoothly on my PPC, but how to set MP3 file as ringtone?
mp3 ringtones
copy your mp3 ringtones to directory windows/rings in your device.
and setting your notification phone call with them.
or you can install patch englishmp3ringtone.cab (find this file in ftp xda developer)
HKCR\wavefile\Shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\
copy the key "{E88B4A18-6F77-Abb6-8E0D-DCD4B1F8F1DA}"
under the key (create)
HKCR\mp3file\Shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\
Thank's to http://www.newsmobile.it
Italian do it better
Thanks, but I can set one MP3 ringtone only, and cannot select other MP3 files in \Windows\Rings from Sound & Notifications settings. In addition, my MTUX ringtoneX 2.0 does not work with MP3 ringtone. Any suggestion? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I'm from Malaysia. I've already upgraded my XDA IIs rom to version 1.33.51 also. But my device also cooked with IA Caller ID version 1.20.
I can assign any ringtone to any contact including mp3 format using the program (Caller ID 1.20). Try it. Thanks.

David,
Use PHM registory or Resco registry for accessing the registry on your device.
HKCR\wavefile\Shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\ (Where HKCR is the HK Current User)
copy the key "{E88B4A18-6F77-Abb6-8E0D-DCD4B1F8F1DA}"
Then go to HKCR\mp3file\Shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\
and create a key by pasting the above.
Voila there is your mp3 ringtone. Check and let us knowl.
Hemant.
Then go to this folder

One downside to the modified Streaming Media App

I've noticed that now that I have my Dash loaded with the modified version of the HTC Streaming Media app, I am no unable to directly download .3gp files from tinytube.net on to my Dash. I've tried it using Opera Mobile and Pocket IE.
http://www.ramonshare.com/files/index.php?share=4&path=TOOLS/RvBCrS_HTC_Streaming_Media.cab
Anyone having a different experience with actually downloading (i.e. not streaming) the .3gp file?
C.
It's Not A Modified Version
The version of the HTC Streaming Media Player you are using is by no means modified, its the real deal.......!

Well, the cab is modified to include the registry tweaks. But you're probably right from the app itself, technically speaking. It's just a modified cab file from the app installer.

Which Download Are Using
Wait a minute, which download are you using! If you are using the one that you have to import the keys, then you have the first one that jockyW2001 and I came out with last week! If you have that one, now its modified. You have to enter the keys manually, but it works like a charm too.

Windows Media Player on Today screen

Is there anyway to get the wmp on the today screen like the tilt does with wm6 ? I dont understand why it doesnt already
Assuming you have HTC Home, HTC Music Plug-in installed, then it is just a matter of selecting the Music Plug-in at the Today setting. The Music plug-in option let you decide which Music player you want to use.

My suggestion is to use HTC Home Plugin Customizer v0.8b. It makes tweaking your settings very easy, including the default media player. The thread is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=319308

[Q] BT stereo headset buttons doesn't work

I'm using Coreplayer and the buttons on the headset activates HTC Sense player.
On my Raphael I had similar problems, when using the "Play button" on the headset Sense player started all though Coreplayer was running.
Some genious created a cab that solved this on the Raphael (originally it might even have been developed for Rhodium...)
The same cab I used on the Raphael doesnt have the desired effect on the Rhodium.
The name of the cab is: "T-Back 6.5 BT Driver.cab"
Any ideas on how to get the BT stereo headset buttons to interact with Core player?
I'm running a stock 6.5 rom.
That's normally because the headset interacts with the default media player. See this thread for information on changing that.

Thanks for your input... But associating mp3 files with coreplayer didn't help...

Hi and welcome,
A little bit of search was enough to reach for an answer. I will encourage you for doing this in the near future.
On that note, thread closed.
