You can use the built-in Windows Media Player or some third-party program such as TCPMP (ex-Betaplayer).
Really? I had been told that the IIs didnt support MP3s

Put it like this, an XDA IIs is like a portible laptop, almost anything you need you can put on your phone, its great! I have AIM, IRC, email, text messages, internet explorer, anything! You can even put DivX movies on your phone! =)
DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO MAKE THE XDA IIS PLAY MP3 RINGTONES
:x
if you read above, apparently it does!!
Mine is in the O2 store at the moment for repair but once I get it back I shall see what I can do with it.

Hi everybody. I just want to know if I can actually watch Youtube videos on Excalibur or it's an urban legend?
I'm using Ricky's v24 no opera version and I tried to follow the definitive guide (well, not so definitive) to watch Youtube videos (found in this forum using the search), I also tried Htc Streaming Media (a .cab file someone posted here) and none of them worked.
I use Wi-fi to navigate most of the time, since I don't have a data plan. My router has no blocking stuff (I disabled all for testing purposes) and I'm using Internet Explorer to browse m.youtube.com, but so far I got nothing but a "failed to find network" from htc streaming media.
So.... I really don't know what to do.
If anyone does, please, share your knowledge with me. Thanks in advance.
Easiest way is to use Skyfire it's free, also i use CorePlayer to stream of mobile YouTube.

I just posted a TCPMP player in this forum with all the plugins needed to play youtube and google video, search for that and youre good to go
Or you can always use Kinoma Free play... I been using this for a while and it is promising so far.

Dude... skyfire is the one.... How come such a software is not a hit? It's almost perfect.... I'm curious about it. I'll try to search for it later, but so far... what a great browser! the best experience I ever had. I wanna say thank you all, for all suggestions posted here, but I'll keep with skyfire.
I use skyfire, and it plays the youtubr videos, but without sound.. any idea?
I use a Program called Vtap. The Program is small and simple it searches youtube videos, myspace videos and more and streams without any problems. If you would like to give it a shot go to http://www.smartphonefreeware.org/download/vtap-0.143

I´ve tried TCMP and Kinoma before creating this post... both unsucessful, but Skyfire is the one.
But again, thank you all for your suggestions.

If that floats your boat. Skyfire is a memory hog, it has over heating issues (battery and processor) it will be ad supported (as soon as it is out of beta testing) so look forward to clicking through an ad every page click... na, not worth it to me.
Vtap
I use Vtap by Veevo. It not only shows YouTube but tons of other video on the web. Plays great!

I have to agree with Bupahs... TCPMP is definitely the way to go (if you aren't using Skyfire w/ a high-speed connection). I have yet to experience a player with more crisp, clearer playback than TCPMP. I found that the trick is you have to access the Desktop version of YouTube instead of the mobile version. The mobile version won't allow you to use TCPMP, but the other version will. How can you tell the difference between the two, you may ask? The mobile version will use a black background, but the PC (Desktop) version looks identical to the one you're used to.
I installed HTC Streaming Media and I access my browser through the Java application that should be on your phone (it came with mine) and go to youtube and I'm able to watch videos perfectly fine.

Now I'm not sure if these are versions that works on the dash but besides the one posted by technology which since he's banned all his downloads are closed, these were the only other ones I found.

There isn't one that works particularly well at present - current versions do strange things with the SIP, aside from anything else. I believe the next version of Flash for PPC will be the first reasonably workable implementation
skyfire should, its meant to be released for the HD early feb.

bit al little different
open media player ...
play a song or a picture
on the right you have three buttons : playlist, burn, sync
the line under this buttons you have: save list and the "play to button"
press "play to" and selct the media link
now you should be able to play photos and music on the media link

Hi,
is there any chance to make the MediaLink HD working with other android devices different to HTC.
On my Vista-PC I can see the WiFi-Network of the MediaLink but I can't log in (don't know the Password). The default should be 1234567890 or 1234567890HTC but both are not working.
Thanks

The password you can find using an HTC phone. On my One X it was under the Media Link settings. I don't know how to get it from a non-HTC phone, but maybe try to invite someone with an HTC phone over to your place once, it might solve the problem lol.
Thanks
