[Q] BT stereo headset buttons doesn't work - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

I'm using Coreplayer and the buttons on the headset activates HTC Sense player.
On my Raphael I had similar problems, when using the "Play button" on the headset Sense player started all though Coreplayer was running.
Some genious created a cab that solved this on the Raphael (originally it might even have been developed for Rhodium...)
The same cab I used on the Raphael doesnt have the desired effect on the Rhodium.
The name of the cab is: "T-Back 6.5 BT Driver.cab"
Any ideas on how to get the BT stereo headset buttons to interact with Core player?
I'm running a stock 6.5 rom.

That's normally because the headset interacts with the default media player. See this thread for information on changing that.

Thanks for your input... But associating mp3 files with coreplayer didn't help...

Don't buy a W100 Wired Remote unless you're a Windows Media Player fanatic(only WMP!)

After buying a W100 Wired Remote, I found that it only works with Windows Media Player (which in my personal and humil opinion sucks!). Unless you 'lock' all buttons, any press you make will open WMP (even if you're already running any other player),.... and if you lock them, well, you won't even be able to answer a call... and of course, if you're ok with no buttons... what did you want this adapter for????
I asked HTC for support, and how to configure it with other players, etc.. and this is the answer (after asking three times and two weeks after my last 'request')...
Thank you for contacting HTC Europe.
The "HTC Touch W100 Wired Remote" it's an accessory obviously made by HTC, having mind to serve our products.
Now, our mobile phones are supplied with windows mobile manufactured software and the only media program supplied with it it's the well known "Windows Media Player" in mobile format.
We don't supply other media software on our products and so we don't manufacture accessories for other 3rd party software manufactures.
Should you have any other query, please do not hesitate to call us. Your local number can be found at: http://www.europe.htc.com/support/csbyphone.html

I don't think that's a reasonable answer so beware if you're thinking of getting one of these!

P.S. Oh, I forgot to say, if you install HTC AudioManager, it will control AudioManager (and open AM, and everything instead of WMP). It's just that AudioManager has the same drawbacks as WMP, with 'pseudo-intelligent' media lists, etc.... AND THEY DON'T EVEN CONSIDER THAT IN THEIR ANSWER!!!!
The W100 Wired Remote also works with the FM Radio !!
Any solution?
I use Conduits Pocket Player v3.2 and it has plugin Conduits WMP Plugin Adapter 2.0
This plugin enables Pocket Player to 'host' plugins that are originally designed for Windows Media Player 10 for Windows Mobile. Many plugins simply control playback, such as the Bluetooth A2DP/AVRCP plugin on WM5 devices. Other times, more features and controls are utilized, such as the plugin for Microsoft Voice Command.
Sound good but not working... maybe next version...
Too Late
I allready got one...
You R Right!
It Sucks!!!!!!!
grtz,

If anyone's sick of it and want to get rid of it, let me know. I think it might be possible to map in wider support and customisation of the functions if I can see how it works.

Hi, i have HTC P3300 PDAViet BB v4.0 and recently buy from expansys W100 Wired Remote.
Automatically works in this rom with Audiomanager without install any specific driver, works perfectly, play button launch audiomanager, all butons are ok, holding next/prev you scan song, single click go to next or prev, if launch radio, buttons only work on radio, if anyone calling me when listen music (mp3) volume fade off and listen ring tone, button mute works ok.
repeat, i dont need install driver in this rom, works directly.

HI I don't have the w100 but I'm interested to buy a 3.5mm adapter so.. do have you try the Htc audio manager (the installable .cab) with the registry patch on this link?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=318459
with the registry patched the Htc audio manager is my default mp3 player.
Yeah I was pretty pissed too. Was eager to try w100+ Conduits Pocket Player and it doesn't work - who uses windows media player anyway? The only hope is some kind of patch from conduits :\
Wish I'd found this topic before I bought one of these. Didn't realize you couldn't use the buttons with CorePlayer, Conduits PocketPlayer, or Resco Radio. If you don't clip that controller onto your collar or something, it eventually weighs on the headphones and pulls them out of your ears. Once clipped on, you really look like a dork
Seemed like a good idea, just not well implemented. As-is, it's a waste of money...
Guys heads up!!! Things have MOVED forwards!!
I just tried Pocket Player 4.0. I think it's the most recent version. All the buttons are working without any problem. So, in the end, there is a cool player supporting the hot 7-buttons handsfree ;-) And it's working on a HTC Diamond. So, I guess, we can mark this topic as *SOLVED* ;-)
So - have fun !!! AND BUY THE HANDSFREE!!! It is COOOOOL !!!

Hi Im trying the pocket player 4 but my w100 dont work (still open WMP) how do you make it work? do you install any plug in?
Hi, I'm also keen to find out a little about the ROM and software you're running... My TyTn II (with Pocket Player 4) insists on controlling HTC Audio Manager.
So - firstly, what is on the ROM in terms of music players? WMP obviously, but do you have HTC Audio Manager installed as well? And did you tweak any settings in PP4 or did it just work out of the box?
I'm liking the W100 but not with HTC/Microsoft media players... any advice appreciated!
Any news?
Are you still using your w100?
this is an old thread but still not soved.
Mine was working fine at least with HTC Audio manager with my Fuze, with sevaral different roms as long as I didn´t use second today or something like that, wich will deactivate HTC audio manager and works only with WMP.
Now i have a CDMA/GSM Rhodium from Verizon with the newest Energy ROM wich is great by the was. But I can not make it work with my w100, it is only controling WMP.
Any news???

Config The RC e100 Remote Controller?

Hello,
Ik was wondering if it was possible to config the buttons on my RC e100 remote controller? Then i hope its possible to use the controller also for other audio programs, because of the equalizer problem that a lot of people have.
I hope someone can help me
Greetings
I need this also really bad

I would love to use the HTC RC E100 with S2P.
Ditto!
In another thread someone said that PocketPlayer recognizes all of the buttons of this remote control.
So I guess other third party players like CorePlayer first have to include support for this remote control.
There's nothing HTC can do.
Unbelievable how much time goes by and nothing happens, but that's so typical for CoreCodec.

I would love to use the HTC RC E100 with S2P too.
rc-e100 absolutely doesnt work with my hermes ;-(
Can anyone on this forum have solution for this problem??????
Has anyone a solution? I want to use it with MortPlayer...
It is not supposed to work with BlueSoleil but with Broadcom stack
RC E100 is on cable, not bluetooth
I would also love to use the remote with MortPlayer.
On my touch Diamond, I tried HTC Audio Manager, which is unfortunately not VGA compatible. The remote works with it. Maybe that's a clue

There is a VGA compatible HTC Audio Manager out there, you can get it here: http://rapidshare.com/files/53159533/HTC.Audio.Manager.cab.html
Think it's a bit strange that no one has built an app yet to interpredate the signals sent from the headset, it cannot be impossible... Big minus to HTC for not releasing an API for this.
RC w100 can't control Sense 2.5 player
There hjave been over a year and no one have figure out how to make the remote control other players. The only oines it controls are:
WMP
Pocket player with all the plugins (Older manila)
HTC Manila Player.
It stopped working on latest Manila releases,
Im using Sense 2.5 Enrgy ROM and can't control the player yet.
Any clues????

Bluetooth and AVRCP

Hello!
On my HTC dimaond, WM6, the default application using AVRCP is Windows Media Player that I never use. Is there a way to desactivate the link between AVRCP and WM Player?
Thanks a lot!

Best music player for TP2

So which one do u choose ?
CorePlayer
Nitrogen player
Windows media player
TF3D music player
or others?
Plz post your reasons too
so? 90 views and no answers
i'm using pocket player . it works great
and i'm using it with jabra stereo blutooth headset.
TF3D music player
I've been using the TF3D music player on my tp2 for about a month now and it seems to be doing all that i need from it.
Simple to use and good quality output as well. Can't say much about other music players as I haven't used any recently.
in order to get as much music on my phone as possible i am using aac compressed audio (with SBR). This format provides 128kbit/s-mp3-quality at 48kbit/s (at least to my ears).
The only players that i know supporting this format are WMP and TCPMP. As TCPMP does software decoding the device gets slow during playback. WMP seems to have something like hardware acceleration for aac. therefore i am using WMP (with another skin as the default one is not very finger friendly).
thanks yeah i like the TF3D default myself too Nitrogen is good but i think the volume is a little low compared to TF3D player,i use coreplayer for movies and TF3D for musics, just wanted to know other opinions
while the htc audio manager is nice, NITROGEN is now my player of choice despite minor bugs.
WMP works well for me. Don't like the skin but I have downloaded an HTC-like theme so it is all good.
pocket player too
wide variety of audio format support (4.x supports aac), AVRCP support, plugin to add pitch adjustment
Power Problems

How did you get the player to play in power saving mode. with the screen off. Whenever I do this it stops the music, and some times, even unloads my memory card.
This has been my biggest bain and major issue with my tmobile tp2. I have tried Mortplayer and Nitrogen, the best IMHO and have had the same issue. I have tried different searches to enable the device to let the music play while the screen is off and none have worked. I am going to try S2P. My only gripe witht that program is that it does not play all file formats.
Oh well...
Coreplayer.
Has EQ, bass boost and pre-amp options and also is the best video player.

yeah,Pocket Music Player is the thing,it can auto power off and power on,holy ****,which else can be as nice as this one?
+1 for Pocket Player.
My reasons: AVRCP support (a must have feature for me), wide format support (many free players don't support wma, which is a deal breaker for me), equalizer, gapless playback(!), quite finger friendly (some buttons are rather small on the default skin, but it has kinetic scrolling etc.)...
Video support is a bit lacking, but then again I only use it for audio.
I use Pocket Player as well, mostly because it works well for both music and audio books. I am frustrated with whatever method it uses for shuffle, though. I've had 6 different songs play 2-4 times in 4 hours. I have nearly 1000 songs and 66 hours of music! Seems like I should not be getting that kind of repetition.
Pocket Player problems with playing large MP3 files...
One thing guys - and anyone who uses Pocket Player on the TP2 may have seen this... I listen to a lot of voice audio. I prefer to combine the files for audio and can sometimes have long audio files of 300 megs all the way to 1.2 gigs (I use a 16 gig storage card).
The problem i have seen is that sometimes the control that shows where you are in the audio file goes haywire and slides from the correct position all the way to the right - making the bookmarking feature fail and impossible to navigate. Additionally it appears Pocket Player somehow miscalculates the size and length of the audio - but it originally has the size and length correct - this only happens after a certain point (for me it seems after about 240 minutes or so - about 4 hours in).
WHat is so strange is this does NOT happen for all audio files on this device. Some of the large files seem to play fine without problem. Additionally when I compare this to another TP2 that has an installation of the competitor program Pocket Music, this does NOT happen. Also this never happenedon our original HTC Mogul from Sprint.
The problem is we need the AVRCP controls and we all know that Conduits is the only company that has addressed this. It's also pathetic that HTC themselves has continued down this path and refuses to even comment on this issue.
2 questions to this wonderful community of genius people who take it upon themselves to fix what should have been included in the first place:
1. Has anyone seen a hack / mod that will fix the AVRCP controls so that programs like Pocket Music and other players can be used via Bluetooth remote controls?
2. Has anyone seen this specific issue with Pocket Player (which has that beautiful speed plugin that does not alter pitch - love that) and if so - is there a fix or workaround for large files 'breaking' in the middle of playing so that you can no longer save your position or know the correct position of the player in the middle of the MP3 being played?
Thanks in advance to all of you who have any suggestions on either issue.
I'm using Kinoma Play, though mainly for its integration with Orb and video abilities.
For music it supports album art, but only has bass and treble adjustments, not an equalizer.
There is a Kinoma Free you can try.
I am searching for the perfect player and have been testing several of them to see how they work. In addition to some of the normal music player requirements I have 2 pet peeves in particular:
1) The player must support the "Album Artist" tag so that compilations are listed properly in the library.
2) Proper alphabetization - "The Beatles" should be listed under the B's not incorrectly under the T's.
I am testing Pocket Player right now. So far it is the only music player that supports and uses the "Album Artist" tag and it does so by default. It does not support proper alpha. AVRCP works fine out of the box.
The HTC player has the advantage in that it is the only player that can be integrated on the TF3D tabs but does not utilize the "Album Artist" tag nor uses proper alpha. It also has a serious bug that prevents it listing and playing a albums tracks in the correct order. AVRCP of course works well.
WMP supports proper alpha but not the "Album Artist" tag. Strange since MS pioneered the use of the "Album Artist" tag in the desktop version of WMP. AVRCP works fine.
CorePlayer is an evil company. I will never buy or use any SW they make.
Kinoma is next up on my list.
I wish I could find a music player that addresses both of my pet peeves and could be integrated into the TF3D tab replacing the HTC one. That would be the perfect player for me.

I understand what you're saying but I would argue that any player that puts that artist name under B is the one doing it incorrectly. If you want The Beatles under the B's then you should rename those tracks to the album artist "Beatles."
For the people that got the TF3D music to work, please share your magic on having it identify your library from a storage card.

I know this question is like 2 months old but I use Nitrogen and its good enough for me...very finger friendly! And on the main screen there's a button that looks like a Power Button under the volume keys...thats how you put it into "sleep mode" and music will continue playing.

A2Dp/AVRCP Problemss

I have tried several versions of Coreplayer (1.25, 1.3) and I still cannot get it to enable the AVRCP profile. in 1.25 is just doesn't check, and in 1.3 it crashes the program. I have hardrest before installing each just to see.
If I cannot get that to work, is there a way to turn down Bluetooth volume? My Jabra Halo have a high starting volume, and S2P or WMP are too loud and the volume controls don't seem to work
Thanks for the help in advance, I really appreciate all the work you devs do!
I switched to PocketPlayer due to this, latest version of it works fine with A2DP controls from headset. I don't think CorePlayer has a version that would work correctly by default.
Yes, I've noticed it too and mentioned it in "I Got Mine" thread. AADP works flawlessly even without tweaks, but no AVRCP in Coreplayer (whatever version and settings i've made).
For the moment I have to use TF3D Audio Manager to play music through my SE HBH DS-980. Although quality (sound fidelity) is quite behind compared to Coreplayer. What a shame.
Gotta find Widcomm Stack hack (TP2 has this BT stack, previous version of Touch series has Microsoft Stack) to work on Coreplayer. Or, wait for coreplayer to release patch/upgrade for their player to work the AVRCP on TP2.
I have the same problem. Did you find a widcomm stack hack ?
I'm very about htc to make AVRCP only working with HTC audio player. Not with other programs like PocketMusic or core player
Why HTC still allows AVRCP in this player even when it's desactivated in TFT3D menubar.
Here my mail to HTC :
Question :Hello, I have a Touch pro 2 and I have a problem : I can't use bluetooth AVCRP with touch flo 3D 2.5, but it working only with HTC audio manager in touch flo 3D. But i want to use other program with my stereo headset like pocketmusic (avcrp compatible verified) Please tell me what can I do Regards
Answer :
Thank you for contacting HTC Technical Support regarding your HTC Touch Pro2.
I would be happy to assist you.. HTC is unable to support third party programs on the device. It is recommend to contact the vendor of the third party applications if you are experiencing trouble. I cannot guarantee all third party applications will work properly with your HTC device. I can recommend checking our self-help user forum at www.htcwiki.com for more information regarding your inquiry. I apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced.
In addition, you can find a customer satisfaction survey at: http://survey.htc.com/worldwide/.
Thank You,
Stephanie
HTC Technical Support Team
I will reply AVRCP is in the list of the technical specification and I can't use It. Because if a standart like AVRCP become a closed API, and designed to work only with HTC apps, i see no difference beetween HTC and the iphone closed world.
