proxied provider gprs problem for update - P3300, MDA Compact III ROM Development

Hi everybody,
got a problem with my proxied provider with HTC home weather
I read the whole thread above without succes because it doesn't talk about artemis:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=319187&highlight=artemis
so I cannot update the weather with gprs, it works only with wifi/activesync
someone has reach to make it works ? (APN wapsfr).
quickGps works with gprs with that patch: QuickGPSFix.arm.CAB
but weather autoupdate is very important for me
thx

GPRS/MMS not working with XDA IIs

i always get this error message:
The answering modem has disconnected. To check your connection settings and change them if needed, tap Settings.
i have already set my gprs/mms settings. i tried using my sim on another fone and i was able to send/receive mms. anyone encountered this error?
btw, any smart users here using xda 2s? any one of you having problems sending/receiving mms and accessing gprs? i used the automatic configuration whenever the phone performs a hard reset (xda 2s phone bought from smart has an automatic configuration both for smart and globe). i also tried using the cab file from http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=20826.
tnx!
Try a manual setting -- http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=21900 has a Virgin setting tutorial. That might help!
Dilip, I noticed that you live in India and would like to know if you have GPRS working. If so, what carrier are you using? I'm using Hutch and was told that they didn't support GPRS on Pocket PC phones, which is hard to believe..
Cingular
I am looking for help with GPRS/MMS on an XDA IIs activated on Cingular.
contact your service provider they will give you your gprs and mms settings. im thinking we should have a sticky for this.

Orbit trying to use GPRS for SMS !!!

Hi
I've had my orbit a few months. Nothing out of the ordinary loaded on it :-
Opera
XnView
TCPMP
SK Tools
Battery Status
A few days ago it started throwing up a network logon box every time I receive or send an SMS. I have 2 dummy connections setup for Internet and Work so that it will not connect to GPRS without me knowing - I did this since day 1 with no problems. It means I can be absolutely sure that I am not getting GPRS data charges without me intitiating it.
So, it would seem that my orbit is trying to use GPRS for messaging. I've changed the setting from GSM preferred to GSM only, but this has not stopped the problem.
Can't recall any software load or changes immediately prior to this happening.
Any suggestions?
Michael
Well I can answer my own question - I had received an MMS and it was trying to dial out to get the photo !!
Michael
goto start-setting-connections and click on sms service change it to gsm preferred.
to disable GPRS use this utility

toggle and disable or enable

Start > Settings > Connections > Connections > Advanced, Select 'Networks' then change the first drop down to your service provider's Internet settings.
My one is set to 'Optus Internet Settings'.
Give that a try
No, it doesn't work,
when i start the "sign in to windows live", it shows"windows live was unable to establish an internet connection", in fact, i can go to a site with the internet explorer,

Just checked with my phone, if I set my connection to WAP I can open internet pages but get the following when trying to sign in to messenger
"There was a problem signing in to Messenger. It may be the service or you may be in a place with bad reception. Please try again later"
Setting it back to the internet settings gives me access again.
Have a play around with your connection settings. What provider are you with, and in which country?
i'm in france, with the operator SFR of vodafone, but i flashed the official rom of wm6 english version which belongs to asia.

The ROM you have installed will have customized network settings for the region - asia. You will need to edit them to your providers settings.
I am having the same problem. I am using the HTC new WM6 ROM. My settings are correct as I can surf the internet (not Wap) but cannot seem to login in Windows Live or Messenger.
not all operators open for the ports required to use IM programs as it hurt their sms mms and such earnings
because grps is based pr MB where sms and the likes are priced pr sendt

GLOBE GPRS settings for Cingular 8525

hi! does anyone have a working globe gprs settings for Cingular 8525? Netwiz is not working on the Cingular 8525, it says it is only designed for dopod devices only..
Globelines
Bro you can call their hotline 919-8888, they will really help you.
---------
Softbank X01HT
Binky11's 3.3
SPL 2.10 Olipro
SuperCID
Radio: 1.54.30.10
4gb Sandisk microSDHC
what's your rom?
I'm using different WM6.1 roms, and everytime i flash a new rom, i use either Netwiz or Connection Setup, and they automatically configure my MMS/GPRS. Works everytime.
I'm using a post-paid Globe sim.
I think there's no globe gprs settings 'coz every service provider they have their own gprs settings.
The easiest way that you run Connection Setup, it will configure your GPRS settings automatically.

If i'm not mistaken, he's referring to Globe, a service provider in the Philippines.
i think you need to activate first to your network b4 you can use it.

Use push mail via GPRS or 3G

I live in Vietnam, and my TP2 was up rom to wm 6.5 ( I used version 1.7 of Joshkoss - Thanks a lot). When I get email via Internet, it's very easy, but it notice that "... be certain that the server name is correct, then try again..." when I change to use GPRS and 3G. Who can solve this problem?
