Hi, I remember reading somewhere on xda devs about making the GPRS icon animate when data is being transferred through the GPRS connection. I enabled this using a registry tweak a couple of ROMs ago but I can't remember how to do it. i have searched the forum but not found the tweak. Does anyone know it?
thanks,
cojo

I had this working yesterday however just exchanged my phone and reloaded everything. the connection times out on pocket ie and when i simply go to the web address in another browser it says cingular video is only available on certain 3g phones.
I was using it yesterday even though i am not in a 3g area, but i am in an edge area. does someone think i have a connection issue. i am using the default from black 2.5 medianet connection with wap.cingular as acesspoint. Anyone else with this issue. I put to constantly stay connected to medianet in htctweak but that did not resolve the issue.
i asked in the black 2.5 thread but i did not get a response. by the way the enable disable proxy button doesn't seem to do anything to change it.
I can connect to medianet am xm radio mobile. I appreciate anyones help.
EDIT: SORRY THIS IS ACTUALLY AN OUTAGE IN MY AREA VERY SORRY FOR THE THREAD. MODS PLEASE DELETE
Hi everyone,
I configured my artemis to collect MMS threw the
gprs; but since, the weather tab keeps connecting to
the GPRS to try and update.
Is there i reg fix to stop this and only let it connect
threw WI-FI?
thanks
When you click on weather to change city - right side menu\weather options - turn off auto.
No way only to use wifi unless you delete devices gprs settings.
i already answered the same question here. it's not really what you are asking about, but for me it solved the problem
edit: you can also disable the auto update, but then it will never auto update, even if you are connected via WLAN.
thanks for the answers
I cant get my internet to connect on any roms beside the supa dupa lite? Can anyone help? It takes me to a screen for I have to set my own settings but I have no idea what to do there. Thanks
Maybe this will help
hey, You might have to input you internet settings again. It's carrier based.Do a search for internet settings for your specific carrier, and if your lucky there might even be a cab for it.
Does anyone know if there's a registry setting to enable the connectivity menu icon to animate when the ActiveSync is being actively access? On my old Treo Pro when a connection was be established or when there was OTA ActiveSync network access occuring the network data connectivity icon animated. I notice with my ATT TP2 the icons are static.

I answered this myself by comparing registries between my old phone and new AT&T Tilt 2. Verdict: there's a registry setting you need to add to the Tilt2/TP2 to get the animated connection menu icon back. Posting here in case helpful to anyone else...
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\
Add DWORD:
CellularDataIconOptions = 2
Hi, hopefully someone here can help me. I want my tp2 to disconnect from gprs after updating weather etc. I have tried hd tweak and gprs auto connect/disconnect but none of them work. If i bring my phone out of sleep mode the weather updates automatically, fair enough. but my gprs connection stays connected, sometime for 5 hours+.
I am on an unlimited internet tariff but with it being connected all the time I dont want to be charged for overuse. Can someone suggest something please.
I am currently on latest energy rom.
Thanks.
Stu.
Anyone help?
I used to have this problem of the data connection being left activtaed after use, until I found WMLongLife:

You can customise it to auto-disconnect idle data connections after a certain amount of time, switch to 3G upon a programs opening and back to 2G upon close and more.
Hope this helps
Here it´s gprs autodissconnect
Also if you have advanced tweaks you can enable that
