Combine all Files and Roms in one Directory
if you get te connection error
Do the following:
Make sure your PPC is switched off when pluggin in
Switch on the PPC - You should get a connection
Dont try upgrade until Active Sync settings have been saved ....
I did it, and the same I get CONNECTION ERROR

The Activesync works fine, is green and moving, when It will stop I will Run the UPgrade, but I will always get "CONNECTION ERROR"
Are You using ActiveSync 4.1
On my USb 1.1 machine I always battle to do upgrades
on my USB 2.0 Machine everything works 100%
Put the Exec in bootloader first:
Power button + Backlight + reset:
Have fun with the upgrade .

Thanks, but I did that and no luck. [email protected]#$%
any other idea?
TENXXX.
Hard reset always helps. Sometimes it's a bad micro SD card, I learned this the hard way.
I had all sorts of problem with Activesync before. Have since upgraded my laptop to Vista and instead of ActiveSync it has Windows Mobile Device Centre. No problem ever since.
I cleared my drive C (Laptop) installed Activesync and problem solved Activesync is working 100%.
Thanks!!!!!!!!!
I have flashed into the E1 English ROM (the one without the opera browser) and encountered some issues, I might have had them in previous ROMs as well, and I am wondering whether there is a solution for them:
1) Cannot set the IE homepage, it will always refer back to SamsungMobile
2) Cannot sync via Blue-tooth, even though a partnership is set with my PC, and ActiveSync is enabled I keep getting a message: "Cannot connect using Bluetooth to a PC that supports ACtivesync. You may be out of range. Would you like to create a bluetooth partnership with a different PC?"
Clicking Yes does not help here and the Bluetooth wont sync
Did anyone find a resolution for this matters?
i have the original E1 rom, i dont think the activesync prob is related to the rom as mine has no prob activesyncing using BT since the A1 rom.
btw make sure u are using the latest activesync on the pc.
use your phone to detect your pc, not the other way around, then try activesync. if u still cant, use your pc's BT to establish a serial connection to the phone, then start activesync on your phone.
Just got my rhodium today (t-mobile branded unfortunately), it's a great device. Just one weird problem i am having with activesync, maybe someone knows what the problem is.
After installing activesync it works fine, untill I turn off (restart) my computer, then as soon as a connect my rhodium it tries to intialize the connection but gets an error. On the device it says, error with rapiclnt and asks me to send the error log to Microsoft. When i run the active sync troubleshooter it says that connection with the device cannot be established and over some suggestions (stop firewall, enable usb connection).
So far the only thing that fixes it, is uninstalling and reinstalling activesync. It then works fine untill i restart.
Things i have tried that have not worked are:
1. Hard reset the device
2. Soft reset the device
3. Deleted partnerships on both computer and device
4. Removed firewall
5. Unchecked advanced network functionality
The only other thing I can think of is to formate my pc and do a complete fresh install of windows xp. If nothing else this should rule out the problem is on the pc end I think.
Any suggestions are appreciated, thnx in advance.
Yeah yeah.
MY Dash wont seem to connect properly to my PC Via the required activesync 4.5...
IDK if this is in the ROM, My computer or AS4.5
but when i plug in my phone it MIGHT connect, might not or come up with a malfunction error.
Last time it said Activesync has encountered an error and needs to close or something like that...
But if i reinstall active sync it will work just fine the first time or two
what OS are your running and which active sync? might have a issue between them if you got the wrong one.

Windows XP Home (2001)
SP2 with .net 3.5 installed
Active sync is the one for x86 XP & Vista
not sure i have had similar issues with win 7, but i also noticed there was a update for the driver that seems to have fixed it. maybe check via windows update and see (do it while phone is pluged in) if there is a update for the driver to connect it.
i'm not sure what the issue is but it seems that every rom i flash to aside from the factory rom as soon as i flash outside of it, activesync and wmdc fails to establish any form of a connection whatsoever and i have tried the wm 6.1 by kavana and the 3vo 6.5 rom and after i installing the other roms neither acticsync or wmdc won't connect but reflashing to the factory rom it works i dunno what the deal is, but i do know that after using the Excalibur USPL- CID BYPASS it refuses to conntect even if you don't flash after using this so i attribute the connection failure to the bypass fix
i finally figured out what was keeping my active sync from properly connecting and this might help you out,
active sync needs to have port 900 open to connect, if you open it in the win xp firewall add exceptions for port 900 via tcp and udp even if it's already listed do it, and if you have a secondary program such as mcafee or norton you will need to do the same in that program as well, once the ports have been opened you'll need to reboot, but it should work
