Hello together,
because I want to work with Voice-Dial controlled from a BT-Headset, I try to find a solution for upgrading the BT-stack.
Also would this allow to use BT-Headset for music and video....(Mediaplayer,etc.)
Did anyone have an idea in which way we can integrate a headset-profil??
May be, anyone can post the related files and registry-entries from a other device, that uses Widcomm/Broadcom-Stack.
Thanx
Delfin
Handsfree - would be nice for the BMW Car BT as well
Yes, the handsfree Profile in the MDA III is missing and it hurts badly. I can't make it work with my BMW BT Carkit.
Does anyone know how to integrate Handsfree into the MDA III?
I alos would like to see this get fixed.
Just before this site had technical difficulties and lost several weeks worth of posts, there was a thread on this very topic.
It seem to me that progress was being made, but the current BT Profile only allows for Phone audio, not audio from device.
Even the not so good iPAQ 6315 had audion from device support.
I suppose first that I-Mate should fix the BT Profile all together, which is unstable on my PDA2K.
Just to clear this up....
The PDA2K does have handsfree profile. The profile only supports handsfree for phone.
What everyone is asking about is the ability to transfer audio from device to a bluetooth device (headset etc.). Is this profile called handsfree or something else, have read posts where someone mentioned it was called a different profile name?

...Hmmmm....
In a recent online conversation with a "club i-mate" tech rep- I asked about the so-called "Hands Free" profile they advertise the PDA2K as being compliant with....
ME: "My other bluetooth phone would allow me to simply speak the contacts name via my wireless headset and the phone would dial.....With my PDA2K I have to actually use the phone to dial out.......This is not a 'TRUE Handsfree OPeration'....."
Club i-mate: "True."
ME: "So the PDA2K doesn't really support 'Hands Free' profile as advertised, but rather ONLY 'Headset' profile?"
Club i-mate: "Yes."
I have been VERY pleased with all of my PDA2K EXCEPT for the Bluetooth functions. They totally dropped the ball with the Bluetooth on this device....
Interesting news.
Have you tried with voice software on the PDA2K?
Tomorrow (Saturday night now) I will break out the car kit and headset and see what I can learn. The car kit (nothing special, just Supertooth) allows both headset and handsfree, different button combo to activate.

Yes, I have Microsoft Voice Command on my PDA2K.
However, It requires activation by pressing a button on the PDA2K- and will only accept voice commands directly- via its own microphone- It will not activate/accept speech via a wireless headset, like ALL my previous bluetooth phones....
Again, this is not a true hands free mode- and it is entirely a limitation of the firmware/bluetooth radio stack Carrier Devices is using in the PDA2K at this time....
...for instance, with my SE T610, I could leave my phone in my jacket pocket or briefcase- in the trunk of my car, and still activate/voice dial anyone in my contact list simply by pressing one button on my wireless headset....
...as well, I could accept incoming calls just the same, as a tone would be heard in the headset, and a single press would accept the call. The PDA2K will not allow this. My PDA2K will not automatically find/activate my headset when an incoming call is made- it wont even let me use the headset 'unless' I have an active link to it- but when you keep an active link to ANY bluetooth headset and turn the unit off, it will repeatedly turn itself back on and run the battery nearly dead in a couple hours. I discovered this the hard way.
ABSOLUTELY USELESS bluetooth software in the PDA2K.....
I'm using SE HBH60 headset with Qtek 9090, if i receive a call and bt headset is off, i can just simply turn it on and press the button on the headset and the call is answered...If it's on already, i hear a ring in the headset and can answer the call by just pressing the button in the headset.

"...simply turn it on AND press a button on the headset and call is answered..."
Would you care to exaggerate here?
When I recieve calls, if I do not have an active link to my bluetooth headsets, I cannot answer with them... I must first go inot bluetooth manager and click on headset and click on 'connect'- which can take more than a few seconds each time I do....
I have tried this woth my Motorola, several Bluespoon's and my in-car handsfree system.... None will work unless the connection was made 'live' before the call, and then the PDA2K will not stay shut off, thus draining the battery...........

I think part of problem is the required button press, which isn't required on your other phones.

When you have your bluetooth headset connected and the PDA enters the standby mode (for example, you don't use it for few minutes), if you receive a call does the headset automatically reconnect?
I'm using 9090 with Nokia HDW-3 BT headset, and I'm in trouble when I put my PDA in stand by leaving BT activated and the headset connected. It seems that after few minutes of standby the headset disconnects, but PDA's BT led is still flashing... Maybe is there any power saving feature in PDA's bluetooth stack so when in standby it disconnects the headset?
BMW bt car kit
The Xda IIs works fine with handsfree profile BT devices (such as car kits), I have personally tried it with a BMW built in jobby (X5) & a Nokia ck 7w. It also works fine with BT headsets.
I can only assume that the other providers/networks have made the same mistake that O2 did with the XdaII, i.e. use the Microsoft BT stuff which does NOT support hands-free, only headset profiles.
Perhaps one of the clever folk on here can suggest a way to get the O2 version on your phones?

Also microsoft voice command does not support activation by bluetooth headsets, its not a fault of the imate, just no software to accept the voice dial command from the bluetooth headset
BMW BT with XDAII?
Would you please irblinx be more specific about how have you been able to made ANY kind of call through your XDAII?
My BMW series 5 built in BT hands free simply fails to Connect to the XDAII. I'm carrying a SE T68 just to use my car hands free system. Stupid way of using an 1000+ $ BMW extra.
Any help is wellcome!
:?
some confusion here (at least partly due to O2 giving the new model a confusing name!), the xda II does NOT work with car kits.
Only the new IIs works
Headset profile for PDA2K/9090
Sorry for my poor English
I need "HEADSET profile" for my PDA2K
Now all headset work with headset and hands free, but i nead "force" the headset mode with PDA2K
In headset mode (no hands free) I can use one headset for more devices, like PDA2K, notebbok, cellular phone.
In hands free mode the headset work with a device at time.

Hi there,
I've got a JasJar running WM6 and it happily runs stereo music on my Motorola HT820 bluetooth headset. I also have Sony BT2500 car stereo system which supports bluetooth phone as well as A2DP. with my HT820, I just turn the headset on and jasjar sees the headset and connects to it, but with the BT2500 only the phone part is automatically connected. if I want to listen to music I have to (on my jasjar) go to settings/connections/bluetooth and tap and hold on my xplod (my sony BT2500) and set it as wireless stereo.
is there any way to avoid this step (as I'm usually driving when i have to do this)? if not, is there an easy way to do it with one hand and no tap and hold ?
Cheers,
Shafa
Anyone had any success pairing the JABRA BT320s with MDA 2 and if so, do all the functions of the bluetooth stereo headset work?
Thanks.
Upgrade
Purchased Jabra BT320s and paired with Vario 2 after upgrading ROM. Everything working fine with excellent sound quality. I did not try to pair with Vario 2 on old WM 5.0 ROM so I cannot say if the BT320 would work on this OS.
I DID try to pair a BT320s with my TyTN a while ago, no luck......im going to try again now, as i was quite annoyed it didnt work. Will report back soon.
EDIT:: Gonna need to get a plug adapter as i forgot the dumbasses i bought it from sent an EU power supply and not a UK one...LOL!
from what i remember it was around JUNE time when i tried it, sounds like the bluetooth drivers may have changed since i tried it but it did seem as if the headset was the problem and not the drivers as i have had other A2DP headsets working fine.
Jabra BT320's
Bluetooth can be a real pain at times - with unpredictable results. I cannot begin to tell you how much wasted time I have spent trying to pair gadgets together - so it was a pleasent surprise to find the Jabra's paired first time and functioned as described.
Wishing you LOL.
tange.
well i tried it again and even on my pretty up to date ROM it only pairs as a headset and not wireless stereo urgh!
may be worth a rom upgrade?
i have a 320s (uk version bought from a tmobile shop - their selling them for 25quid) and it works fine on my wm5 spv m700 and is detected as wireless stereo and headset

i had the same issue with this thing ... i did a hardreset and it showed up as stereo headset again. i had to do one anyway...
@all how do you like the jabra? mine is quite noisy ... i use my ugly samsung speakers instead and thinking about buying a 3.5mm adapter for the car.
I have been playing with the bt320s for a few days on different roms for my wizzard. I have been tring some WM5 and WM6 roms for features and bluetooth options. What i found was that I could pair with WM5 but even if it gave me the stereo option it was only in mono. After a google search i found someone mentioing that WM5 only supports Mono.
I then tried a couple of WM6 roms and found that they all supported the stereo correctly.
I then hit a problem as I decided that a ROM i tried earlier had everything i wanted (Diamond). So, decision made, I flashed the rom and tried to pair and it would only pair on headset and not offer the stereo. Very wierd as it worked before????.
I then found a post on another site which mentioned the following with the Bt320s headset.
1) delete any pairings on the phone.
2) switch of headset
3) plug the charge into the mains
4) put the charge into the headset 3 times for 5 seconds each.
5) Recreate the pairing with the phone.
Sounds wierd but it worked??????
I now have a wm6 rom with stereo bluetooth.
the only problem now is that WM6 closes all my apps when i switch it off and on using the power button.
This seems to be a bug when you enable a security pin in WM6 which i am forced to do via a directpush policy from work. Does anyone know a workaround for this as it is anoying to have your cub/pointui/media player etc close on you and go back to the home screen whenever I use the power button.
*****Orange are selling the Jabra BT320s online for £9.50 at the moment. Well worth the money*********
Quick update, on the latest pandora ROM (Tytn) ..... Its working great.

Just tried this trick and it work! I have a Jabra BT620.
Hello,
Can someone tell me if I can connect this headphones to my HTC P3300:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-Freepulse-Headphones-Transmitter-980461-0120/dp/B000LBAUB2/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=gateway&qid=1202896436&sr=8-1
thank you.
I finally found!!!
Hey! I finally found how to connect it.
You have to press the power button until the light blinks blue and red (about 10 seconds), then do a search in bluetooth configuration. the access code is 0000.
next times you just have to turn it on normally and it will be connected to the phone. you have to do the same thing to reconnect it to the transmitter.
maybe this operation works with other headphones.
Most if not all bluetooth devices require some form of 'pairing' to your device. Most headsets use the 0000 code for connection. And all of them need to be in some form of pairing mode in order for the host device(in this case, your phone) to be able to detect it.
Logitech Bluetooth.

sounds like you've got bluetooth headset profile working, but not bluetooth stereo audio profile (A2DP). what handset are you using it with, and what ROM? not all support it...

I am using it with HTC P3300 and the ROM is 3.13.405.1.WWE. I used the same bluetooth headset with my WM6 and it worked fine but after upgrading to WM6 its messed up.

I'm using a bluetooth 2.0 stereo headset with my HTC Herald. The problem is that when you press the function key on the headset for a second, it automatically calls the last number dialed. Is there a registry setting or something that can disable this feature in order to prevent making accidental calls?
Also, each time the headset connects, it doesn't automatically set as wireless stereo. I have tried the A2DP Toggle today screen plugin. Although it works, I'm still looking for a way to map the function to a hardware key, without taking up space on the today screen. Any help would be appreciated.
Which headset are you using?
I'm using a Clip II Mini. It's the one they sell on eBay that looks like a 2nd gen iPod Shuffle, and has a 3.5mm stereo jack. With my previous BT 1.2 headset, all I had to do was click one of the controls to activate wireless stereo mode.

'cause it only supports HFP and not AD2P (wireless stereo).
It even say on the Jabra BT135 site.
Try using the latest beta of BatteryStatus and the tray icon to manager the bluetooth functions. Solved all my problems. It makes it a 1 click operation. Just toggle A2DP and it automatically turns on Bluetooth and activates the "Stereo Headset" profile for my headset device.
BatterStatus Extended V. 1.05 Beta nightly build
Thread I used to discuss my issue
As for the auto dialing I haven't encountered it since installing and using the
A2DP toggle on BatteryStatus. Only conflicts I encounter are when I use Audio Manager and WMP and forget to close the process on 1 which is my own fault.
Good Luck
