Rom's That Play Videos - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

Which WM6 roms play streaming videos?? thanks for the help!!!

like all the roms??

they all come with streaming media player..... dont they?

Not all ROMs do have HTC Stream Media inside, like ultra lite ROMs.
I don't know a working cab for Hermes. Streaming Media cabs are here a lot, but not a single one is working. (95% closing bug)
So if you need Streaming Media you need to install a full ROM of your desire.

As soon as I load a ROM, first thing I do before installing or tweaking a ROM is test youtube's mobile site to test if the ROM plays streaming media from the start with no tweaking or fixes....
The only ROMs as of late I find that streams well with youtube are Schap's ROMs (3.54-3.60).
I've tried the latest batch of .1921 WM6 roms and none of them seemed to work with youtube.
I tried VP3G latest and it tried to use RealPlayer to stream but no success.
I haven't had much luck with any lite roms either...

Try searching for flash video bundler cab and tcpmp cab. Works with my herm100 with full youtube... not mobile.

Sweet! thanks for the help

YOUTUBE on official ATT WM6 8525

Whats up.
Just flashed to the new official ATT and I'm, loving it so far. I played around with a couple of the cooked builds before getting the official. Thanks to whoever leaked it. Anywayz down to business.
QUESTION: anybody got youtube to work on the new official WM6 release?
I have the new beta of TCPMP installed and the new wizzstar which is supposed to make http://m.youtube.com work for our WM6 tytn's.
for details:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=319226
No matter what i have tried i cannot get the file association to look at TCPMP. It always calls on realplayer which cannot play the file. I have tried to remove realplayer but this does not help. For those who do not know, Realplayer comes with WM6 ATT official. Supposedly people have done it for WM6 but noone has posted about the official release yet. Any input would be appreciated.
On a side note. Here is what i install to get more usability out of the device.
googlemaps - self explanatory
opera - newest beta
mochavnc - for remote VNC connections
SiriusWM5 - Sirius satelite radio ported to WinMO
TCPMP - Media player because Windows media player is teh suck
WM6 WMV9 codecs - enables TCPMP to play windows media in WM6
fp7_ppc_en - official Flash player for WinMo
Wizzstar FlashVideoBundle - was supposed to assist with youtube.
PCMKeyboard - A keyboard very much like the HTC Touch. Very Nice.
Remotedisplay for mobile - desktop control of your WinMo device.
Thanks,
J
Mobile Youtube should play through the Streaming Media app, not TCPMP. Mobile Youtube only has a very small collection of videos in poor quality to choose from.
Much better (IMHO) to watch the full Youtube video collection in full quality. All you need is TCPMP, an FLV plug-in (check my post here for a corrected version: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=325373 ) and then go to Mobytube.net and search for your Youtube video. It's a lot easier than it sounds and the quality's great!
Have fun.
You need to go into the settings of tcpmp then the file associations then check .flv, I think........
Orb
I use Orb 2.0 on my home PC. Then use the orb link in PIE to access You tube and all of my media at home. It transcodes FLV to streaming WMV and opens in WMP on your phone. Get access to everything without installing anything extra. Add a tuner card and get broadcast TV. Add Tivo2Go and stream your Tivo recordings. All for free and the price of powering your computer at home.
Gprs internet camera with video browser wm6
i cant veiw my security camara in my 9502 pls help
am using GPRS
youtubeplay
I've tried all the methods above and never had any luck. I found youtubeplay.cab in the forums. It's a stand alone program that searchs youtube and plays them in that program. It allows you to download the video or stream it. by far it is the easiest way to watch youtube videos. You only have to install one program, and you are done.
Another easy way to view youtube is in Skyfire. It's a private beta, I signed up months ago and got my invitation just few days ago. Its a really cool web browser, you phone doesn't render anything, their server does. It sends you the info already rendered, and its at least 2 times faster than any other browser I tried. It works with the actual youtube site, flash works, I haven't found anything yet that it won't work with. It's amazing.

wmp - poor playback

i run wm5 and wmp is great plays fine
i run wm6 - any rom and the wmp is rubbish!!??? the payback is all jerky and the wmv files do not play in core player
anyone else have this problm? ive reflahed, ran different roms etc etc no joy

HTC streaming player Problem (95%-99%) --- work now with the offical one

I have tested various WM6 Rom Kitchened trying to connect the TV video provided my 3G operator by using HTC streaming player. Everytime when I connect to about 95%-99% (or something else), the player stop and close. So, I have used a lot of time for searching google and XDA about this problem and found that it did have people share the same problem like me but no solution at all! I did try using the wm6 rom which come with newest verion of HTC streaming player (like Schap's 4.31 rom) or installing the RvBCrS player to the Lite version and no one success.............
So, I get back to myself and finally I get my HTC player connect and play the video by using the official HTC rom. .
It appear to me that the HTC streaming player installed in kitchen Rom and the RvBCrS player is not fully completed. It should have some setting missing.
same problem here. I tried Shadow TE wm6.1 and installed the streaming media (which is v.2.1) by myself, I got the exact problem. Then I tried Pays w.6.1 full version, which comes with streaming media (same v.2.1), it works but my phone doesn't 'wake up' twice for the last 12 hrs..............
So I'm going to flash back Schaps w6.0 4.30
The same problem here. I am never able to play it using the cooked rom (closed at around 99%). It's good to hear that the official one can solve that problem, but I have not tested it yet. However, I don't want to use the official one since it's not fast and stable. So what is the solution for cooked rom??
Solved with Shamanix HTC Streaming Player with Codecs.
Had the same problems, only player working is the extracted one from Shamanix. He really made a great work!
Can be downloaded in this Addons-Pack:

Orb Streaming Video

Ok, so I just upgraded to Ricky's rom (wonderful!). All is well and good.. But i'm experiencing the same video problem I was on WM6. I am simply trying to stream video through Orb.. But I get no video, only sound.
Now, I have copied the dll's for the decoder and restarted my phone. Still, I get no video. TCPMP is the same (rc81).
Am I missing a step?
Thanks for the help!
Nick
disregard
plz disregard.. figured out that its an issue with codecs on my home box, they have decided to stream in black... Woops!
Slingbox, Orb, Lobster, FlashVideoBundle and Streams4pda All Works Perfect

I use the RC81 TCPMP/Player beefed up codecs version with extra codecs and Orb, SlingBox, Lobster, FlashVideoBundle. Streams4pda (Global TV) all works like a charm with Ricky's (17) version ROM. I have no problem connecting back to my home PC with any of my mobile devices.....!
this was one of the coolest features i've found thanks to this thread, i can monitor my entire house through web cams, and watch it all on my phone.

What program can i use to watch youtube or divx on my dash, and where can i get it? THX Sorry Newb..
