hermes(m3100) wifi problem - help please

i have a orange m3100 version of the hermes.
recently i flashed it with schaps 3.54b rom
now i can't use my wifi router/network @ home nor another wifi router/network @ work.
in fact i'm well connected, i'm sure of this because from another computer of the networks, i can ping the (static) ip of my hermes. i tried changing and changing again my ip and tested it.
but the hermes cant go on internet.
i use the right gateway and DNS in each case but no surf in pocket ie.
any solutions or other tests i can do?
in french if possible since i and my rom are in french.
thank you.
update : i made some tests :
it is nos a dns problem : i put the right gateway and dns on the smartphone but i cant get a website by typing its ip in pocket ie adress bar (other browsers dont work better) and i cant even access my router admin interface.
when i'm trying wifi with static ip or dhcp on my m3100, i can ping its ip from another computer of my networks and the smartphone responds ok, and i can see its mac adress in the connected clients on my router config screen. But the smartphone can't ping anyone.
i asked a friend who told me that the proxy (192.168.10.100 :8080 ) used for the connection to orangeworld in gprs/edge is also used when i try to connect via wifi and that is why it cant connect nowhere because my personal network is configured differently and without a proxy.
if i delete the proxy my connections will cost me more when i use gprs.
if i configure my router like this (192.168.10.xxx) with a proxy on 8080 it could work but only on my network and not @ my workplace or somewhere else where network params will be different.
any ideas or solutions ?
wow ! so many people trying to help :/
well i found a temporary solution to my problem, probably not the best one but the best i can do by myself so if someone wants to help : thank you
it was actually a proxy problem.
i looked in the registry and found a key where the proxy adress was detailed : 192.168.10.100:8080
i have exported this value as "proxon.reg"
then i modified the value by deleting its content and i exported the empty value as "proxoff.reg"
now i have my "proxy switch".
before activating the wifi and starting ie, i lauch "proxoff.reg" which clean the registry for the proxy data and magic : ie connects fine.
and when i want tu surf via my provider orange, i desactivate the wifi and launch "proxon.reg" which restore the correct proxy data to the registry. and i can surf on gprs/edge.
all this is fine when i switch off the phone functions in the comm manager.
but now i need someone to tell me how i can automatize this for the wifi and edge connections because if the wifi signal gets too weak, i dont want my phone to switch to the gsm when the proxy is desactivated.
i hope you can understand my english.
please help.
In the last version of BatteryStatus (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=270751) you can find, among the others stuffs, the "Disable Proxy for WiFi" option (see the Tools tab)... Maybe more simple than "regg-in" on and off? I'm ok with it, try and see if it's ok for you also...
Bye!
hey kamaal i just downloaded the batterstatus program but im not seeing the "Disable Proxy for WiFi" option in the Tools tab
***edit:
sorry i downloaded the extended version beta and it was there

SIP cleint for VOIP calls

We have SIP server located in LAN in office, I want to register to it using wi-fi. Fring does not work on my HTC P3300. It just crashes my mobile then need a restart only by removing battery, so not useful at all. I have tried SIP client on nokia N95 and worked fine. Need similar kind of SIP client for HTC P3300.
any clue guyss....
I've used fring, wengo and other VoIP applications (including modded driver to work integrated VoIP) and they work good...
The real problem is in WiFi that doesn't work in stand-by and in using external loudspeaker.
are u using fring on HTC P3300?.. if yes, why it is crashing my phone and not yours

I don't know, I've a P3300 with WinMobile6.1 (19702.1.0.2) ita and .NET3.5
Are you sure you have not installed other applications that conflict with fring?

I don't think is a problem if SIP server is in lan or in wan, the difference is only in setting the right IP for the server...
If the server is standard, the port you use is 5060...
I use Skype for low cpu, and it work very well with the original headset of P3300. I connect to internet through ADSL wifi in my house.
the setup is different here. i do not want to use it for personal use. Its in the office, where we have IP phones for everyone. SIp server is in LAN where we register and make internal and external calls.
I was not have .net 3.5.. will install it and try
Sorry, but I didn't understand the problem of which you discussed
I understood it after rereading the posts, but I never use a client for SIP server for VOIP calls.
SIP server is located in LAN, so there is no need to dial out anywhere in the internet. I require a SIP cleint which can allow me to insert my user credentials and locala SIP server IP address, Just like N95 SIP client if u know. frng and other softwares routes SIP info from internet to the SIP server but for that SIP server has to be located to internet which is not the case in here.
my credentials wud be something like this
un: xxx
pw: xxx
SIP server: [email protected]
port: 5060
registrar/proxy: 192.168.x.x (optional)
this is to register to SIP server from PDA. After this i wud require a simple cleint to dial.. thats all

How to force the use of proxy ?

I want to connect to internet via a wifi proxy running on another computer. I have configured the network as 'Work'. Also configured the proxy at Start->Settings->Connections->Proxy . Also did PIE->Menu->Tool->Options->Connections Select (i.e check) "Automatically Detect Settings".
But PIE keeps connecting directly to internet via wifi. The direct connection also alows the internet access but I want to go via proxy. The setting in PIE "Automatically Detect Setting" uses proxy if there is no direct access to inetrnet.
Any idea how I can force PIE to use proxy instead of direct Wifi access.
Thanks
I do not think it is possible by the sounding of it, it does not seems possible but I could be wrong.
It seems that the use of proxy is dependent on the application implementation. Some application do use proxy and some do not. e.g. PIE uses it but messaging do not.
The behavior is similar to desktop applications. There also each application has its own proxy setting. In WM, apps do not have individual proxy setting, but they chose whether to use proxy or not.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb840031.aspx#EstablishingaConnection
Look into function ConnMgrEstablishConnection and dwflags (flags to request proxy)
Now to answer my own question. How to force apps to not to use proxy. There are three ways.
1. Delete all proxy.
2. All set up connection as "work" connection but set up work URL exceptions as */* or *
3. Set up connection as "internet".
Now to force the connection to use proxy. I do not think there is any way to do this. And this is what I wanted to do.

Dataconnection Problem

Since few days my dataconnection gets lost, when I try to use it. For example when I start Messenger and try to login, TP2 connects then it says Dataconnection is not available check your connection settings. After several attempts it connects stays stable for one or two minutes then again connection breaks down. I also tryed to reset the data connection via connection-wizard, nothing helps. I think something in the registry is messed up...
I don't want to do a hardreset and install all the programs again. Does someone have a good advice for me?
My Rhodium is the same situation. I am a Japanese, and mopera of Docomo is used.
[Understand now]
Cellular Line IP address & Default Gateway is same.
Primary DNS & Secondary DNS is active. I receive PING.
I can't receive PING form other site (mail server etc).
I did hardreset. But my Rhodium is not connect to Internet.
It investigates for a while. If you have good idea, then advice to me.
Same here with MTS Serbia.
I check data connection settings and all adjustment are same like automatic configuration setup but i cant get back data connections.
Hello every one.
I have understood the cause of this problem.
Perhaps, every one set WiFi's DNS server at manual.
If it's possible, set DHCP. Then DNS server is active and you can get e-mail and you can access to Internet.
I think this problem is WM network access process.
I will not use DHCP. I research other process for GPRS.
Thanks msaf, your advice resolve my problem!
I set WiFi's DNS server at manual and when i set on default i got gprs connection again
Hi,
This is an unusual problem as the wireless network card shouldn't have anything to do with GPRS!! Anyway, it seems having automatic DNS for wifi does solve the problem of GPRS but my Wifi connection will not work unless I specify the DNS manually. Therefore, it is a hassle to change between these 2 options whenever I need to change between WIFI and GPRS.
Any way to fix this once and for all??

<help>Anybody can figure out voip on Rhodium?

I've read the thread for diamond voip solution, followed every step, but can't make this voip thing work. Since my tmobile signal is very weak at my office, I would like to use voip over wifi to make/receive phone calls through gizmo.
Anybody can help me out?
Check here.
Then use SIP configurator to enter your provider details.
Basically you can stop after step 2 in the wiki (use the 2nd VoIP file(s) listed in step 2), and then use the config tool to make it go.
Use Dontsleep Wifi to prevent sleeping while talking. Use AudioRoute to use the earpiece intead of having to use speakerphone/ear buds.
Make sure you enable the "Internet Calling" today plugin on whatever 2nd today/tf3d detacher/MTP utility you use to have a 2nd today screen.
OR.....
just seach for x-lite or SJPhone and use those over wifi. Both work just fine without using the integrated windows Voip. Make sure that your firewall doesnt prevent you from using SIP protocol or block port 5060
