New Beta T-Mobile xda-2 rom ruu172104wwe with BT stack

Has anyone tried this yet, One of my friends got it last night form a friend in T-Mobile its ment to be the latest Beta for T-Mobile but it contains a proper BT stack.
Has anyone heard anything about it?
when i get it tonight i will of corse post it here

I am getting Country ID error when I am trying to install it

As per my usual request...
If anyone DOES manage to get it installed, can they run Cleartype and see if it is 'GOOD' Cleartype, like the O2 ROMS, or useless, garbled and coloury Cleartype, as per the Orange ROMS please?
As for the Country Code error, is it a T-Mobile or UK device you are installing on?
if not, you'll need to edit the nbf files for the correct country.

How to edit those files? TIA

NBF files are passworded, can't seem to open them in editor

Sorry probably it wont work because this T-Mobile roms comes with HimaUpgradeUt.exe version 1.1.0.0...

Mental block Not working for me, prolly too hot today If anyone cold post modified nbf's for FIDO network I'll really appreciate it.

use ER2003Edit to unlock the nbf files
it's the fastest rom i've ever installed on my mdaII!
the 3 files included are:
rom 1.72
radio 1.12
extrom 1.72.04

sorry to be a dumb newbie, but can this work on an O2 UK XDA II? i dont need a walkthrough just a point in the right diretion

ER2003Edit gives me errors- ERROR ACESSING IMAGE FILES when try to open ROM, however I can change country, but still getting Country error when I am trying to load them. :roll:

use the latest version of ER2003Edit and these password to unlock the 3 files
ms_.nbf 0x20040305
NK.nbf 0x20040304
radio_.nbf 0x20040306

Finally, changed nbf files etc, loading was in prgress and then - AGAIN WRONG COUNTRY CODE! How it stucked in Bootloader screen! Arghhh... Help

Phew! Fixed. Loading image now 21% done

me I have a french Qtel 2020 with now the WWE 1.66 rom.
I have now the country error with the 1.72.

upgrading WM5 on asus a632n (636, 632, 636n)

hi all!
i have my pda asus 632n in Chiniess language, need to change it to english at least. the pda's rom is V03.0616.00 CHS 0804. Red big ammount of forums, but those advices which were found don't fit new rom v.30616. On support.asus.com there are some roms for asus 632, but more older version (v.30607) Tried to hack upgrade tool.exe as some people offered, but nothing solved.
For info: the last rom for such as asus 63x goes with two files Update.cap 38,1 mb and Upgrade Tool.exe 19,5 kb. The last one is a romloader - checks language, version of current pda's rom before upgrade. The solution of upgrade is: format SD to FAT, put files above into root of prepared SD, plug SD into pda, execute upgrade tool.exe
When i do such way without hacking upgrade tool.exe, i'm told as language not match! if i hack upgrade tool.exe, then there is "your version is more older then pda's one" on the screen.
There was the thread in http://www.wormholecreations.com.au/wc/megabbs/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=3969&start=81&posts=99, followed right direction of this topic, but it's holded for now
According to my expirience and words of others there is two ways to solve the problem:
1. Wait until new rom upgrade from asus support for v.30616 (may takes much time)
2. hack upgrade tool.exe to remove notice about version
Anyway, does anybody have expirience in hacking plz help to resolve the problem. I guess there are many people who you would help to!

if you have icq number, please send me to [email protected]. I have tried to use patched upgrade tool.exe by your programm and by simple changing hex code, and it both followed me to an error exception. and as it's in CHS language, i couldn't read at least the reason

There are screenshots of the error exceptions. Please, check the e-mail. If somebody need to see the pics, please tell me, course i can't prepare them to the proper size allowed here in the forum

weltom's problem now solved, but it was a little tricky
It should be no problem to flash to english from russian or to polish from german, etc, just follow link above.
Erorrs may occure with chineese firmware and may be some other asian ROMs due to different file structure for such ROM-images.

Let me honestly thank oneiros eidos much for his help!! We have to help each other, that's why ask questions here and we altogether solve problems, or try at least.

Can you make it work with the latest update? The one that upgrades to WM6.

I'm receiving a lot of "can you patch that new upgrade tool"-letters.
Sorry, but, now, when i have already sold my A636... No, i can't.
Without device, i can't test my assumptions about "may be that way it will work", so i stopped trying to do anything with new "upgrade tool" utils.
Also, Asus have changed some things in their "upgrade tool", so old methods became useless.
The only thing, that i may advice to all, who really wants to patch that new upgrade tool, is to get latest version of IDA (Interactive Disassembler) and try to do it by yourself (or, may be, some of your frinends, who more skilled in such things).
P.S. As another option for some devices: first flash it from WM5 to WM5 with desired language, then flash to WM6. The only problem here is to find that old WM5 firmware.

I've just downloaded IDA Pro v.5 and will try to dissassemble the latest Upgrade Tool by myself. I used to do lots of disassembling on PC platform, but never on XScale ARM platform. I just pray it is not that different from the one I know.
I will post my findings here...
Also guys, if you have links to old WM5 firmwares for A632, 636 and especially 639 (the model I have) if you could post them here, that would be greatly appreciated.

I managed to download IDA Pro v5 and I was able to disassemble the old Upgrade Tool (for WM5) and I got the the same offsets as "oneiros eidos" mentioned on his web page, and manage to change the instructions to bypass the mentioned checks, but unfortunately I am not able to disassemble the new Upgrade Tool.exe. Either Asus has protected their file in some way or my disassembler doesn't do the job for this file.
If anybody has a suggestion, let me know.

Little something about language check in new "upgrade tools".
If you look at disassembled executable, you'll see two interesting registry paths:
HKLM\nls\SystemLCID
HKLM\nls\DefaultLCID
I assume, that if you change both of them them to 1033 (english) with any hex editor, (may be Resco Explorer registry plug-in), and then try to flash, it may work.
Don't forget to write down the old value and restore it, if i'm not right.

I tried to modify the registry values with Resco Explorer plugin, changed them to 1033 and restarted the PDA. It doesn't work. This is the message I see : "Open Upgrade image file Error".

In fact, it partially works. You don't have to reset your PDA or the values you've just modified will be restored. Files have to be placed at the root of the SD card.
Then, when I launch the updater, I see a progress bar and my pda is reseted and restored to factory defaults

So it just reset your device but didn't upgrade to WM6?

Yes it does. I launch the updater, then I briefly see a page with a progression bar and it resets to factory defaults.

guys i am new with my i-mate jasjam(herm 100).. and i had a problem with my sms service. i was not able to send sms with any sim card. so i installed some titanium edition wm 6.5 rom(previously i had wm5). and when i sync it with my pc i found that it was a trial version and it expired now giving me a white screen written
"this concludes the beta test of this software release. thank you very much for your time and effort in helping make this a great product for our costumers.
to obtain a newer release or further info, please revisit the web site that you used to obtain your current beta release."
now i am not able to access any thing on my i-mate. even active sync is not able to synchronize with the pc.
i only want install a good windows(rom) in it. so can any body help me with this problem of mines in easy way.like giving me a direct link to official rom and instructions to install it,,,

i got the solution for expired version from another xda thread. hard reset did the job.
but i still need a official rom.wm 6 or latest.if dont than atleast please give me some link for wm5 official rom. i dont want to play with roms just give me a rom with which i can use my i-mate jasjam peacefully and also i can send sms to my friends... please help me thank you!!

Use this. It's a cab file so just install it, then run the program. Use your current network.
What happens sometimes is the proper settings are not set up, so you end up with your situation.

need that apllication for wm6

i tried that software but it is not displayed any where, while installing it gave an caution that it was designed for previous windows.
so i got the name of it (i;e htc your application name). ill search for it on net for wm6.

BA Phone nosound need help

Hi everyone, I have my BA for longtime and tried to upgrade to WM5 before 5 years ago. and then it has no sound accept through Bluetooth or Headset. I tried to downgrade with WM 2003 but the same problem. Now i must always answer my phone with headphone. If you have some experiences with this problem please share me some.

Upgrade to 6.5 (either d-two's roms or sun_dream's roms will do)

Thanks egzthunder1, I tried to Upgrade it today but without success and don't know why that. I'm following this TUT http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=630416 from Chef Tony.
1. Download Unlocker.cab and Repartdoc.exe to BA
2. Run Unlocker and i have already one directory's called ExtendedRom
And the next step when i run unhide or unlock it appears one error message. and then i tried so many way (rename "programme" to "Programme files" or "programmmes") but it has the same error.
Have you got any idea with this. My BA is from T-Mobile Germany.

well, what is the error message exactly?
if it is something like "target not found", then the start menu link does not point anywhere, and then your programmes folder needs to be renamed to "\Program Files" exactly. the 3 versions you posted are all from other languages and won't work.

Pocket e-sword installation

Hello.
I have a t-mobile dash successfully unblocked and with the Kavana rom/wm6.1 in it.
I am now trying to install a program called pocket e-sword, it doesnt install because it says there is some error and the cab file was not meant for this device.
I have tried all their versions of the program and none of them are compatible?
Please help. The only reason I have a smartphone is pretty much for this.
Google "pocket e-sword" and you will see the first link. I can't post it since this is my first thread.
I didn't install the latest for wm6 only because its only for wvga phones, and as far as I'm concerned the T-dash isnt.

Then you should have bought a pocketpc or at minimum one of the phones listed in the "click here for a list of supported models" link at e-sword.net's website. Read the requirements - Strong Arm/XScale, PDA must have a "touch screen". Yes I know, noobs don't like to read instructions, they just want to click and go.
This won't work on the Dash.
