Hi everybody,
first of all thanks to TOM for his B&B 4.1!!!!
As you can see i'm using that wonderful ROM and i like it so much!!!
There is something that i'd like to customize, but it dosen't depend on the TOM's ROM, but it is related with WM in general.
Any time that an appointment or a task is Notifing me there is the opportunity, through the soft key on the left, to postpone it throug a specific delay. Is there any possibility to customize that delay instead of the percomiled 1 minute, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, etc?
Thank for your answers!!
Cheers
WHY????
Why would you want 2 do that, would you want to snooze it for more then a day? (task rescedule?).
I dont know if its possible, probably you will need a 3rd party app for this. Tries looking into pocketinformant or another agenda/task app?
Just Coz...!
It's a fair question - I've often wished I could snooze a task by a specific amount of time - 40 minutes, 50 minutes, and 1 hour 20 minutes, etc.
As a PocketInformant user, I'm fairly sure it simply interfaces with WM6 standard alerting, bringing up the normal snooze intervals. Certainly if it can be done, I haven't found out how!

Of course its a fair question, i was just curious...
But do you want to alter the options or make it so that you can choose to put in the specific snooze time?
i'd like just change the "specific time", even better if it's possible to chose how much to postpone .... i think 5, 10 and 15 minutes are quite similar, i need something like:
- 15 minutes
- 3 hours
- 8 hours
- 12 hours
- 1 day
thanks guys!!!

For my taste it would be nice to be able to do both, I guess, with a little bit of 'stickiness' so that the last couple of custom snooze times appeared alongside any 'standard' snooze intervals I have configured.
It's handy for those times when you know you are going to be out of a meeting in 25 minutes, or your SatNav is telling you 1 hour and 10 minutes to your destination...not a killer app, but handy!
Exactly!! How could you do that?

Ahhhh, that's the million dollar question! All I can say is that I don't believe PocketInformant will do the job.

Hey there people, nice to see flood of very good roms for our BAs around the forum any beyond. However, some of them do have issues, such as SMS notifications (I try to deal with those using Smiley SMS), but very annoying in some issues is also the alarm clock, which sometimes simply fails to work, and that can be very annoying.
Therefore, does anyone can recommend some good alarm clock application which will work reliably on WM 6 (ROM 5.63.11).
Thanks
whats wrong with the wm06 built in alarm clock?
Try pTravelAlarm http://www.burroak.on.ca/pta.html
For me GS Alarm Clock is the best...and it's free
SPB time 2 its OK
I was lookin' 4 a good alarm for about 2weeks and then I've found its really good. you can choose whole mp3. Pocketalarm http://rapidshare.com/files/18010275/PocketAlarm.v2.16.rar.html
Thanks for good suggestions people, I really had a hard time, since for some stupid reason the built in alarm clock was highly unreliable - sometimes it works and sometimes it didn't even though everything was set correctly (which led to me being late for work and a bug in the ROM cannot be used as an excuse ). It could be because of the ROM I am using. I tried all of those you suggested and GS is really neat.
Thanks everyone for a lot of help.

There is absolutely no problem with WM6 Alarm system.
I thoroughly checked it up and noticed following correct behavior:
1. System updates registries as soon as any alrm settings are changed
2. Notification queues are issued for the week replacing any other available for the week.
I am positive that system is working correctly.
What must have gone wrong with some of your devices that you must have taken system backup without clearing alarm settings totally and must have later on after hard reset, restored the backup. This would reinstall old queues as well new when you setup new alarms. You can get away with this issue by clearing all those notification queues still residing in the database.
If this works for you, make sure you always takeback with no alarms settings.
Thanks for the info, however, anytime I did new rom upgrade I did it without doing any backup, which means all settings were manually set after the upgrade - which means no backups to mess up the settings. Oh well, not a big deal anyway, as I said in my previous post that GS Alarm Clock, which I took later works perfectly.
Thanks anyway,
hi everyone!
is there a way to add custom sounds for the wm06 built n alarm clock?
and maybe for the reminders too?
if i move wav files to the windows folder, those file names show up in the sounds drop down menu, but wont play....
anyone?
regards,krz
Are you sure they are the correct wav files?

well... at least, i am sure, that they are WAV files and i can play them back in TCMP!
are there certain specifications, that wav files have to meet in order to be used as an alarm clock sound...? (eg.: max. file size, mono/stero, quality,...) ??
is it confirmed, that this should actually work that way (meaning to copy a wav file into windows folder for alarmclock use) ??
answers appreciated!
regards,krz
EDITED TO SAY: okay, it seems, that size, etc. does matter! i just got one working (redalert.wav)
anyone knows the excact secifications for working wav files...? is it just the size? or maybe the length of the file too?
Sound control
The problem i always had with the BA is the fact that the alarm would not go off if the phone is on silent. Which i keep my phone on most of the time, So when i forget to turn it on at night... I get get to yell "Oh Crap, Look at the time" to my wife.
Is there a program that will make sure the alarm goes off even if the sound is silent,
or is there a program that will change the sound at certian times, like at 6am turn sound on, at 9am turn sound off, then at 6pm turn sound on again?
Thanks
Again,
I must advise SPB Time, I do realise it isn't a free app but it's to my opinion the best, define as much alarms as you want, select mp3's or anything, it puts your volume to maximum if you choose so, or play ascending... and my favorite, upon alarm your comploete screen blanks and you have 2 huge buttons snooze and dismiss which you can't miss even with only 1 eye open... ;-)
The best is PocketAlarm. Try it u wont regret it. Link is on the first page. u can choose mp3 files not only wav.
I have just started using SPB Time... its a great program. You can set up as many alarms as you need, have them go off on certain days of the week. Everything is customizable, the repeats, the time it plays, length of snooze.
When the alarm goes off, there are nice large dismiss and snooze buttons.
nobody is talking about program size and memory usage on device, two criterias, which are very important for such a program....
which one is the smallest and lightest?
interessted,
krz
The cab for SPB Time is approx 4.42mb. Memory usage is not really a problem because the program doesn't need to be running for the alarms to work.
Pocket Alarm can not be used if you lock your phone it seems. Phone first has to be unlocked, which is not the case with e.g. ptravelalarm.
Alarm Clock Lite is free
For PPC and SP
CT Alarmclock is free to, only for SP
SpoonAlarm is free too. For all devices also 240*240 screens
Updated with NCAA Football support
This is for WM6.1 standard, smarthphones ONLY using sliding panel homescreen.
Thanks to ScottyMoMo for this pocket sportscenter app from this thread here: http://discussion.treocentral.com/showthread.php?t=161402
This is a homescreen plugin for ScottyMoMo's Pocket SportsCenter for smartphone. This plugin will display any teams that you select in PSC. Teams only as of now, may add more support later. PSC allows you to select teams from MLB, NFL, NBA, or NHL. Once you select the teams in PSC, select the option to exit and save teams to panel.
NCAA football Top 25 teams are now available for scores and updates on page 2 of the sports panel. Since my feed only gives top 25 scores, and most teams I follow are in the top 25, I went ahead with a top 25 scoreboard instead of including team support. When activated it will provide the top 25 teams scores and start times on the text loop in clock panel. Scheduling will not work for auto updates. It will have to manually be started and stopped since there are so many different game times.
The first page of panel is for PSC setup and options. The second is NCAA football. The rest of the pages are for your teams( I allowed for up to 20 teams to be added). From the teams' pages, The ActionURL will do a manual update for that team. The softkey URL will open auto update options which are as follows:
1) stop auto updates
2) 5 minute intervals
3) 10 minute intervals
4) 15 minute intervals
5) Custom intervals
6) Setup timezone( for auto updates scheduling)
After selecting an interval it will save it and run an update. Only one team at a time on updates, both manual and auto. You can go to another page to manual update another team while one is on auto, but only 1 auto update can be run at a time.
I added an automatic scheduling for the auto updates also. When you click on auto update, it will check to see if game is already started or if it should wait till game time. If it finds a game time, it will then set itself to wait and start the autoupdates at that time. Once it gets the final score, auto update will stop automatically. Auto updates should not be started until game day and should work when set the day of game, but not if you try to set before that day.
It now has clock panel text loop support for the auto updates. So if auto is running, it will display game info for that team in operator name text area along with team icon. When auto stops, then text reverts back to network id or weather along with icon that was there before auto started.
TO INSTALL THIS:
1) Install either with the cab . Install to Main memory for now, I'll have to make a few adjustments for the storage card(should be ready in a few days).
2) After installation, go to the start menu and find Pocket SportsCenter. Click on this and setup your teams.
3) After selecting your teams, click on Exit and Save Teams to panel.
4) Now, if all has gone correctly, your homescreen will refresh and the new Sports panel will be visible with your teams, ready for use.
For anyone that needs to replace/fix their team icon folders, all league zip files are in post #135.
To Uninstall: Use Remove Programs and uninstall this cab. Then you will need to reboot or refresh your homescreen to remove the Sports panel.
If there's enough interest in this, I will take the time to make this real nice. Lets see a "show of hands" or keyboards... or whatever..lol
here's a hand and keyboard thumbs up!
would be huge
Would love this. I have Pocketsportscenter but not like this!
I'm Swiss.
I would absolutely love this on my dash, if your gonna do it then i can't wait because your chome weather is awesome so I'm sure this will be as well!!!

Awesome! I wanted you to take it Org, but I knew you were busy. Thats why I posted, hoping you couldn't resist. Get your new house taken care of, and then show us the magic.
I'll work on it slowly at night... So it might take a few days. Besides, it looks like most of the work is already done, so I just have to make it pretty and useful

Showaco, Even though I'm not into sports - I would like to thank you for spending the time to make this for our community. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for this, good idea and good program...
This hands up here!
O! You could make this real nice! Im interested!
What I am looking for is something I can fill in with all the medications that need to be taken during the course of a 24hr period and have the system prompt me with a pop-up at the appropriate time to do just that. It would also be nice if it could keep track of the quantity of each medication and remind me to re-order in sufficient time.
Spent ages searching online for some software and while I have found this OnTimeRx, it is not pretty and personally is lacking a function or two, not to mention it is very Americanised.
The missing functions for me are:
The reminder function for re-order is hard coded at 5 days, need this to be editable.
It is incapable of coping with the situation where you take one of a tablet at breakfast and then two of the same tablet at tea time. It will allow you to take 2 tablets, twice a day and set a reminder for each but not differing quantities.
Generally not finger friendly.
Anyone up for the challenge or able to suggest something else?
Hi Deedee
Isn't it something that calendar can handle, with recurrence functions and notifications. As for order reminder, after you have calculated once how many pills or whatever you need in a month or week, you can also set a recurrence and reminder.
Correct me if I'm wrong or missed something.
Anyhow, good health and good luck
Thanks for the concern over my health.
While it is something that could be managed by careful manipulation of calendar, reminders and recurrence, the solution being sought is something that would have all the medical details in one place. Ideally something that can also manage emergency contact details as well.
Hi everybody,
Can someone tell me if wm7 will finally support multiple calendars? Windows developers should be spending their time fixing wm6.5 instead of reinventing the wheel.
What about internet calendars?
This is what geek wm users want! Not some fancy menu with crappy kid stuff like 'XBox Live'.
What about the battery? We should already had a more advanced battery application (where we could see how much time's left, advanced setting where we could change between economic mode to normal mode to high performance mode).
Alarm clock! Yes, I would like to have as many clocks as I want, instead of the default 3(a simple "add new alarm" button would do the trick), I have 5 different hours to wake through the week, I really don't like to configure my alarm everyday.
'Fast search Textbox' -> This is one of my ideas that could be implemented! It would be something like the textbox in the start button of vista and windows 7. This fast search could be in the wm start menu too, where we could type in, and the results would come out (avoiding scrolling through a bunch of menus).
'Internet meter'. My internet plan is really a crap, so I would like that wm would have a default Internet meter, I am sick of running out my MB around day 25 (my plan is monthly).
'Profiles'. Based on time, location and a lot of other possible variables it should set automatically some configurations, for example, if my phone is in the cradle in home, it should turn wifi on automatically instead of spending my precious MB of my crappy internet plan or if I am at school, vibration mode should automatically turn on.
'Messenger'. Messenger should already be much better implemented, I mean, Windows owns Messenger, they should be massively promoting messenger in their phones because it's really useful (at least for me).
This is what geek users like us want. Not an easy and dumb phone like iphone. And why developers focus so much in graphics instead of functionality? Are they listening to their geek customers?
Have you ever tried the emulator?
That would answer at least some of your questions concerning alarms and calendars....

Sorry to break it to you, but Microsoft legitimately don't give a crap about 'geek wm users'. It's not in their gameplan, and it's certainly not profitable to aim devices at such a small demographic.
To answer you question, YES multiple canlendar will be handled in WP7 series

Greetings to Developers & Moderators.
I am using Raphael 300( Windows 6.5.x ) and I prefer using the windows Home Screen rather than using Manila.
I humbly ask you all is it possible to make the clock ( small round analogue ) alive and work equally along with the digital one on the home screen.. I have attached a picture along with this post to make the concept clear..
Thanks and Regards to every Moderators and Developers
Hi bonnyinqingdao
The little analog clock is only an image, search for "Titanium skins" to find something close, not what you want exactly. Good luck!
Feasibly, I could make a program that every minute it updates and creates a new clock image based on the Time, however I am not sure how the homescreen works exactly (in terms of refreshing). Refreshing the homescreen every minute would be both a pain and inconvenient.
If someone knows how to update the image every minute without inconvenience, I would be happy to make the image-maker
Cyclonezephyrxz7
60 images X 12 = 720 it's a lot of work !!! Refreshing Titanium takes 3 to 6 seconds, every minutes it 'll happen, the whole device will be devoted to doing only this thing

I wouldn't save the images to the phone. Not all of them atleast.
The program would have a base-image to work with, and it will load it, then draw a Line on it with Graphics.DrawLine() for the minutes and one for the Hour. I already know the formula for degrees between hands for every minute (it was an Extra Credit Final Project in my Geometry class two years ago )
However, if Titanium doesn't update that often, then it isn't all too worth it...It would cost more resources than it is worth That, or someone can just make a new CCLock Panel (I don't know C++ well enough, so I can't do that)...
Right, I didn't think about changing the arms only
There's already an analog clock plugin somewhere....
