i have been searching for a solution for the sdhc support. Lots of emails to providers, lots of threads in forums but no solution.
Tried a lot of updates cabs and fixes but did not work!
Finally a cab in XDA-Dev worked! Now, I can see my 4GB SDHC Sandisk Storage card in my File Explorer
Here is the link for the CAB-File
I hope it works for you too..
My Device: Xda Orbit (P3300) with Pdaviet 4.1 Rom, Radio v02.97.90
Please post your results here.....
Regards from Germany
thanks from china

Resuuullllttss??
Glad to Hear....
This is great news! now to find the biggest card available and try it myself!
Well,
i have installed the old v4.0 and tried the cab, with PDAViet ROM v4.0. Unfortunataly didnt work.
I think it works only with verison 4.1. Iam installing now 4.1...
No no noooo..
It does not work!!!
After installation of cab, it created a Storage Card folder in root. But this folder does not contain my files... (This appears only on v4.1) I see only "mail, cacheie and temp" folders in this Storage Card folder, and these are not the files on my Card...
Sorry...
So, keep searching for a solution...

THIS MEANS????
I don't have a sdhc card so it is just in theory it should work within this rom P800w_SEA_ENG_WM6_Upgrade_20070713
and this is no fake ? All the guys are telling it's not working because of hardware limitations and now a cab solves all issues? i am a little bit sceptical.... ....but just ordered one 4gig card...
Edit 11/September:
Does not work on my device. I'm using Meschle's Touch 1.0.
Hello, can't get .cab file to work. I am using a scandisk 4 GB SDHC and using resco 6.10 or ms file explorer. if anyone has this working is there an order to install and register the .dll files and can we have a screenshot so we know that this is not just a mirage. Many thanks

thats not a bug of the pacth, its a bug of B&B 4.1.
When u install the ROM without a SD Card in teh device, it creates itself a "virtual" storage card.
Rename it to "Storage Card 3"
Insert real SD Card, the "Storage Card" should appear in your File Explorer.
Delete Storage Card 3

SDHC Cards
Installed the driver on a WM6 o2 upgraded Orbit and it doesn't seem to do anything...DOESN't WORK!!
Who voted "YES, it's working" ???
The storage card bug in B&B 4.1 can be solved by deactivating the messaging tab on the today screen, renaming the storage card, resetting and erasing the renamed virtual storage card.
Who are the guys that voted that SDHC works on their devices ???
And for those that think it's not possible because of the hardware: that doesn't seem to be exactly the case. Search other forums on the xda-dev site and you will find out.
These are the guys that voted that sdhc patch works: lepsyfou, lestuan, tom_codon.
...either Tom is pulling our leg or it is good news indeed...

These files are in the ROM image. You donnot have to backup them. They will not disappear except you flash a new ROM.
warning dont install to asus p525.
i am formatting my asus p525 now.
after installing it asked for softreset soo i did.
after restarts the device didnt recognice any memory card (2gb,4 gb).
tried to put back the old dlls and the old registry key ,but the device refuse to recognise any memorycard plug to it....
I had the same problem. After installing the above patch my phone would not read any memory card. I don't know what changes the cab file made so that I could reverse them myself. I am going to do a hard reset to be able to read the card again.
didnt work on my prophet M600
Anyone try this out on a 700wx??

B&B 4.1, audiomanager not able to find mp3s in storage card
the ROM works great! many thanks to tom.
just discovered a bug that the audio manager isn't able to find mp3s in the actual storage card.
from the file explorer, the actual microSD card has been renamed to "Storage Card2", and there is a system created folder: "Storage Card", which contains some IE temp files and email files.
hope someone can fix that. thanks.
Also, can anyone give me some advice on some kind of software that will allow the ORBIT to show "running app" on the "today screen", which is one of the O2 plugins. THANKS again.

This is deleted
That's why developers thininking about to leave....
just gave it two tries to search, and then asap a new thread
for something already answered....come on guys, struggle yourself...
and don't let others do the research for you....
Tom (and all the other guys) (they are developers,no Supporters ) has other things to do than answering such questions....
Just my 2 cents...

I just want to let everyone know that my new 4GB Sandisk Cat2 SDHC works
with my Artemis WM6 after applying the SDHC patch from this forum.
I did a benchmark using PocketMechanic which doesnt make sense to me but It might make sense to others so I attached them here:
I will run Tomtom in DEMO mode overnight (thats how I test TT if it craches after long periods of usage) and report back tomorrow.
continuation...
Update 22 Dec 07:
Found a little bug:
I have MagicSS (free screen capture app) installed. I mapped it to a button on my Artemis so when I want to capture the current screen, I only have to press the button. It works fine.
But when I run Tomtom and press the (MagicSS) button, the original application that the button was assigned to is whats activated. For example, the Camera button activates Camera instead of MAgicSS. Whats worse is when I assign the IE button, It activates IE and Mouse Mode.
I thought it was MagicSS causing the problem so I tried to use Resco Capture It! which comes with Resco Photo Viewer. But the same happens.
I then did a Hard Reset, but Im still having the same problem....
I use an 8GB SDHC since 1 week in my Artemis and works fine with the patch.
Previous 4GB also worked fine.

sdhc update for amda compact 3 wm6 of t-mobile wm6
hi!
Would u plz help me which files i should install to my artemis to make a 4 or 8 gb micro sd card working in it. should i only copy the files to some directory of the artemis or to run them on telephone?
should i also use uspl b4 doing this?
i have mda compact 3 of t mobile logo; i unlocked it first and then upgraded to the original wm6 of the t-mobile from the site of the dutch t-mobile site.
I read different articles of this forum, but i couldn t grasop any real sollution for the files like 5torage and cab etc.
i already downloaded 3 files namely
sdhcartemis.cab, wm5torage and sdhc_artemisback2original.cab. i also downloaded some artemis touch full wich they assume is with sdhc support files..
i didnot have applied them at all. if i get some help from u then i will try it as u direct me. many thanx in advance.
tulip holland
Hi tulipswat.n I have attached the file that I used. I also downloaded it from the forum.
You dont need uspl.
1. just make sure you have WM6
2. remove your memory card
3. copy the attached file to your MDA (eg: \My Documents memory card)
4. look for the SDHC driver that you copied using file explorer
5. click the file to run then
6. format your SDHC card with FAT32 using card reader
7. put your SDHC memory card
soft reset... and your done!
The same for xda orbit?
Hello this patch is working also for xda orbit?if it's not plz give a link to download a file that make the same thing on xda orbit!Ty
It works flawlessly with O2 XDA Orbit....

Hello everybody. Great forum full of usefull infos
I hope you can help me...
I've got a HTC Touch (Elfin) with WM6 Pro in french edition.
everything works greats but some applications, as some emulators (PocketCommodore64 and PocketNester), that can't find files on storage card.
Both seem not to appreciate the french name of the storage card ("Carte Mémoire") maybe due to the presence of an accentuated character.
For example , browsing for roms in PocketCommodore64 shows about 10 to 15 lines like "Carte M□moire", so I guess there is something wrong in the way the application reads the path.
If I move the roms to the HTC storage, everything works fine.
Is there any way (from registry maybe?) to rename the storage card?
Thank you very much.

Use registry editor & follow the below:
Edit 'Storage Card' in the string value of Folder in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>System>>StorageManager>Profiles >SDMemory> & soft-reset the device.
Also, please use search before posting. Don't unnecessarily create threads.
I had before the Dutty's ROM the stock ROM and iGo8 worked fine with the stock ROM. Yesterday I flashed my HTC Touch HD to the Dutty's WM6.5 R4 Muchos and iGo8 is giving me every time a error:
"Program application database cannot be found. Please insert original application SD card".
I also tryed with the AUTORUN to install it on the internal memmory but shows me the same error message.
Might there be a solution to this?
Greetz,
Roy
EDIT:
Stupid stupid stupid.
Forgot to change the SYS.txt
[folders]
app="Storage Card/iGo8"
The path was all wrong.
Sorry for this all nonsense post.
anyway of setting up IG08 to run from device but store files in storage card??
personally, i installed TomTom and iGo to my microSD so i never have to reinstall after ROM flashing. i simply copy a short-cut to the start menu and i'm up and running with no issues. both applications run fine from the microSD card.
and why would you want to do that?
Problem to keyboard of igo 8
With this rom do not work the keyboard of igo8 for put the city because there is the caracter a on the string, so j do not coud put the name of the city.
Samebody know the cause.
Thanks
The answear of this problem is in Dutty's 3.9 Turbo thread! Search in the thread for "igo8" and you will find the things you must Add in SYS.TXT to clear the symbol!
