Hello!
I've installed the O2 Rom. The software is great! But I really likes the original input methods of Windows Mobile.
There is any way to use the old block recognizer with this ROM?
Thanks!

Hi to all!
I have a WWE Jasjar and i've been waiting for the italian rom for a long time.
Then imate released it and I upgraded my jasjar with new rom.
Everything is fine except for a thing: the keyboard!
I didn't consider that in Italy there's a different layout and probably the Italian Jasjar has a different keyboard.
I've obviously got the standard one, with english keyboard.
Is there a way to change the keyboard layout back to the original english one or the only solution is to get back to the WWE rom?
Thanks
Is the Ita Rom avialable by i-mate? Are You sure?
Absolutely yes! I have already installed it! You must be a registered user to download the rom.
And I have found a solution to my problem: now the keyboard work perfectly.
Everything's fine.
famusc do you live in Italy ??
i got big problems with this phone, especially because i can only make one call or more and it's need to turn off the radio and than back on to be able to make a new call.
Is this a behaviour that occurs to anybody ???

famusc: if you've solved this problem, perhaps you should change the title of the thread to show what you've achieved...

Yes I live in Italy.
I've never had any problem with my phone and especially with phone calls.
To change the keyboard layout:
Edit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\Qwerty and change the value to 10409 hex.
The keyboard will be remapped to the english one after reset.
Hey folks,
I live in Germany and bought a german MDA Pro from T-Mobile. Now I usually use english-software on any device I have, Windows, Mobile Phone and my HTC Universal. The only problem I have with any other ROM than a German one is the Keyboard-Symbol-Support.
With the German OS I can type an o and hit one time the "SYM" Key and get an ö which for example is very often used in Germany.
With international versions I have to hit SYM 3 to 4 times. :x
Or is there a way to change that?
I read somewhere her in the Forum where I can change the Keyboard-Layout, so that Z is Z and not Y and vice versa, but the problem with the german "Umlaute" is still there.
So typing with the Keyboard is really anoying. That's the reason why I'm stuck with the german T-Mobile 1.20 ROM although I would love to use a newer one from QTEK or IMATE...
Can anyone help me?
TIA.
Hi NiTeSHiFT,
same for me, bought the device in Germany as VPA-IV, changed to english ROM from iMate asap. Using latest iMate now also.
I asked about this before and understood it is in the Softkeyboard, but I have no solution until now.
Anybody ?

ere is a file 'sym.txt' in the windows folder. You can edit this (best way to copy it to your desktop/laptop computer, adit and copy back to the xda) and you will be able to change the order of the different character as you wish.
Hi Fortinbras,
well thanks m8, that's so easy and fast to change.
I had the old Vodafone-file still available, change and soft-reset.
Perfect, thanks

German sym.txt File
Hello!
Is there anyone who has the original german sym.txt file to exchange it with the english one. It would be great, if someone can post it here!
Best regards!

It works, granted. I installed it on a german Trion with success...
How did you make it? Do you enabled RAPI and unlocked CID in the trion?
No, it works out of the box...You only need to run the upgrade utility and wait. When it says "Invalid id", just re-run the upgrade utility and it will begin flashing the phone. That's all.
I have a TyTN with the rom version below, is it worth upgrading?
Model No.: HERM200
ROM Version: 1.18.255.3
ROM Date: 05/30/06
Radio version: 1.03.03.10
Protocol version: 32.34.7010.01H
ExtROM version: 1.18.255.105
hi, whats the difference between the model HERM100 and HERM200?......
How does the keyboard work?
When upgrading the english rom on the German Trion does the device automatically detect that it is a qwertz keyboard or is there a registry hack to fix this?
There is a registry hack for it, look under "Restore local language support for sliding keyboard" in the wiki:

How to...???
Hi together!
Sorry for newbie's question: I can see how to dumb the raw files. But what about the reverse process - how to update rom from extracted raws???
For details, please have a look to my question: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=340846#340846
Thanks a lot!

After Conversion to English
I was just wondering if we could still use Chinese as optional language to view or type after we flash in the CHT9000 English ROM.
Chinese Display and Input on English ROM'ed HERMES
Getting back on topic about adding Chinese functionality...
For Traditional Chinese input, I am using Monster SIP 5.2 (input) along w/ Monster Chinese 5.3 by "Maction" with some success...
Zhuyin input works fine with the on-screen keyboard, BUT THE SLIDE-OUT KB (CHT9000) is useless for Chinese when using an English ROM.
Papago R12 doesn't even need SIP because the interface has built-in input. (bopomo-Zhuyin), so
Viewing doesn't work well for e-mail, though.
Like older versions of Monster Chinese, the e-mail list is bad and need a "menu -> Languages -> Chinese" switch for EACH e-mail to be viewed in Chinese.
There's a demo available for the Monster Chinese & SIP. Just make sure you use the latest versions for WM5.
I'll be looking elsewhere for a better input solution (or maybe just flash back to Chinese) since I plan to study Chinese and I want the real keyboard working for note-taking.
Anyone know what's available from CE-Star? I heard they're planning an update soon.

Hi,
I will buy next saturday a SFR S300+ smartphone based on the P3600 (with GPS).
So now I'm looking for information about it.
I will principally (after conventional phone & sms function) use the SIP mode the GPS, and surf the web, read open office documents, etc...).
I've reed that the sip client (integrated in WM6 or not) can't use the "normal" integrated speaker.
Is that true ? And Why ? can a ROM maker fix this very annoying bug ?
Then, will WM6 make my cellphone slower than with WM5 (or will it depend of the rom version ?)
I will be able to see Open Office documents or only office ?
Is IE the only web browser ? Or it exist best one ? Did it support flash content ?
It isn't too difficult to write text message or bigger text with the virtual keyboard ? (I've heard about intuitive write,etc...)
For the GPS, TomTom will be on the P3600 can I update my ROM without loose it ?
Are there a SSH client aviable ?
How can I help to translate a ROM ?
What mean WWE ?
If we install a rom, can we uninstall some softwares that we don't use ?
So, with all of this, what rom do you advise me ?
This one looks cool : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=317690
thanks a lot if you can help me !

Install opera.

Get a diff keyboard there are many available.

Yes no problem as long as you have your maps or if you have tt in the sdcard you will not lose anything.
Are there a SSH client aviable ?
There is Putty for the ssh client. I use it.
How can I help to translate a ROM ?
Translate into what?
What mean WWE ?
World Wide English
If we install a rom, can we uninstall some softwares that we don't use ?
If they are into the rom no. You need to use the light version.
So, with all of this, what rom do you advise me ?

Depends what you are looking for. I use Bepe's now. Great Rom.

Check out Faman's http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=324340 he has successfully translated a ROM - and could almost certainly advise you.

Well in regards your above questions, maybe Faman's ROM (WM6 in French) is what would be best for you if you're getting a S300+ (SFR non?)
Good Luck!
ok, thanks,
does the Faman's ROM habe tomtom installed ?
And can you tell something about the SIP ?
Here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=321306 you can find all of the elements of the SFR 300+ ROM. tomtom is in the extended rom (a .cab file which installs tomtom on your trinity) - so if you flash the extrom after flashing the main rom, when you hard reset the SFR theme and apps will install. If not PM me and I can help with installing tomtom.
SIP can work with a wired headset. I've tried and tried to get it working with freephonie - and other SIP providers but it won't work through the internal earpiece.
Hi!
I bought an ASUS mypal A626 last week because I need a PDA with WM5 (according to Asus homepage and my dealer's homepage it should have WM5 installed), but when I turned it on the first time I noticed that WM6 is installed.
I only bought that thing for I reason. I need a software working on it and it seems that software is not 100% compatible with WM6 (can't access Bluetooth).
So now I want to install WM5. I already found an english image, but does anyone have a german one?
I can also work with English, but I'd prefer german language.
Best regards
JacomoFuchs
Hi, Have You found a WM5 ROM? I have a similar problem and am also interested in downgrading.
Thanks.
Rene
No, never found one...
So I downgraded to an English WM5, but the Bluetooth thing still didn't work. Looks like that Asus thing is not compatible with my software.
I already gave it back to my dealer and got another one...
