I assume this is not working to you right?
Please explain more
Hi guys,
After I installed Tomal 9.0 rom, I also get stuck in calibration step.
I do the "welcome.not", but now I can not align the screen.
Using the screen is very hard, because I miss the icons that I want.
With 8.9 I noted some erratic behaviors, but it works +- fine.
It´s a hardware problem?
If not what should I do? reformat?
Thanks
Yes, probably the best thing to do is Doc format and then reflash
Or you can remove the welcomehead.not from sd and do a hard reset....

Hi!!
I just make a new text file(in PC) rename it (welcome.not), and copy it to the root of the SD card, sof reset and he "works", but still have the problem about accuracy
Good luck!
but i do not have the memory card reader right now... is there any rom out here which comes without this option.. .ie to align the screen ..
No, all the ROM´s come with align screen as default
get an SD!
excellent, worket perfectly on my touch hd. created a new text document (.txt file) on my pc, renamed it to welcome.not (it's not a txt file anymore) and copied that to my sd card! worked like a charm
Glad to know it works for other devices and not only for Universal!

as far as i know the only htc that supports sd flash is the wallaby. although you should find a cable for a reasonable price on ebay.
sorry misunderstood that, your first post is not very clear.

That is not correct. Lots of devices allow you to flash via SD card, including the BA. The only catch is that in order to prepare a card for flashing, you have to have the BA connected to the computer. There is a series of mtty commands that need to be input in order to get the card to be "bootable" for SD flashing. I will post a procedure I found the other day if there is enough interest.
BTW, ares93... this is not in the wiki...

i would appreciate, if you posted a confirmed way to flash from the sd card, because i am running windows 7 x64 and up to now, i have not managed to flash with it... or vmware, virtual pc xp mode or virtualbox for that matter. i would love to try that. even if it means, preparing the sd card with an xp machine for once, assuming that mtty does not work with 7 either, because of the lack of bootloader support.
and please don't post links on how to flash in windows 7, tried all of them, don't work for me.

if it wasn't in the wiki it's probably the reason i don't know about it.
a guide would be great 'cause i'm quite new to flashing pda's. i could use all the info i get cell's aren't a problem but with pda's there are so damn many variations... btw since you have to connect it to a computer to be able to flash via sd, doesn't it kind of kill the point of doing it that way? its designed quite stupidly don't you think?

Hey Chef,
Follow this link
http://www.mikechannon.net/PDF Manuals/HTC Blue Angel Service Manual.pdf
This is the service manual for the Blue Angel directly from HTC. Towards the end, there is a section that speaks about flashing a rom from SD. The only drawback is that you have to have your device connected to the computer, which kinda beats the whole point of using a SD card. I might take it for a spin just to see if it works.
thanks, i have linked that exact service manual dozens of times for people with hardware issues, but i've never actually read it, because i never had to open my device. i didn't even know there was information like that in there thank you, i will definetely give it a try, as soon as there is a new rom.
upgrade from SD card
Hi.
Well I read this forum since I have a Blue Angle but no cable. So basicaly I cannot connect it to the computer. I was thinking if somebody can prepare an SD card for upgrade than make an image out of it and share it, than maybe this will sort the threader problem. (And my too).
Thank you.

you need to use adb.
mounting the sdcard does nothing on the nexus as there is no mass storage

You really need to READ. Use a translator if you can't.
from the thread Zepius linked you:
What is the Android SDK and do I need it?
SDK stands for "software development kit. Do you need it? If you are developing, then yes (but then you probably would be reading this thread now would you... ). If you are not developing, then no, you do NOT need to install it. It is just a waste of space. The only files you need (to interface with your PC) that comes from the SDK are the fastboot and adb files, and they can be found here for Windows, Linux, and MacOS.

File keeps coming back

I have a Note 2 4G and I have a very annoying problem. About two weeks ago I downloaded the qualification for F1 at Monza. It is a file that is just over 4GB and now I just can't delete it. As soon as I press refresh it keeps coming back. I can't rename it though nor can I move it, all it does when I try to move it is that the phone makes a copy of it. The file is located on my 64GB SanDisk.
I have tried to use a bunch of different file explorer and even use the delete option from gallery.

Yes, by taking the card out and doing it via a card reader.
The SD card may be dead.

All other files work like a charm though. You would expect this to happen to more than just one file if the card is broken, right?

Yes no problem, both newer and older files.
No, filesystem corruption can affect only one file. This is especially the case if it's a very big file.
note that FAT isn't even supposed to be able to handle a file over 4GB.
Deleting it from a computer worked. Thanks to all of you.

Near impossible. If no data has been written to it even the police would still have a hard job. You will need to get all your contacts from the people they related to, sorry.

There is next to no way to restore any file from a piece of formatted memory.
Actually there is a way to do it, but it take your time and energy a lot...
Sent from my Xperia M Single SIM [C1905] using Tapatalk
Well if you didn't perform a full format of the memory card and didn't use it since then, you still have some chances. Connect the SD card directly in your computer through a card reader and run recovery apps such as Recuva or PhotoRec, you may be able to recover the file. If you're going to use Recuva, use Deep Scan mode...
If the .vcf was stored in the internal memory, then it's probably gone, but if you have root you could try some Android apps that do the same, but most of them are paid and aren't guaranteed to recover the deleted files...

Hi, I am sorry to hear about what happened. I don't know if you still have the same problem after all these years, or you already found a way, but I want to help, you can use recovery tools like acethinker disk recovery. Recovery tools today are powerful enough to get back your lost files.
