Actually, as my cell phone is my ONLY number, I already receive half a dozen calls weekly...so I think that at some level somewhere, cell numbers HAVE been released. Either way, it is probably a good idea to get on the list.

WTF!!

Yes we get charged for incoming calls, but we also have the largest minute allowance per money paid in the world. 40 dollars a month with Tmobile buys me 1000 anytime (incoming and outgoing) minutes free nights (9PM to 7AM) and free weekends (9PM friday to 7AM monday)
On that note...
This "Do not call" list popped up back in October of '04. In fact it was the very first thing in my life that I agreed upon without actually researching it... and I felt really bad about it. After I put both of my numbers in there I did some research and I discovered the whole uselessness of it. Yea, it's bogus! Don't fall for it.
Also, click on the "Registry Home" link, right on the www.donotcall.gov page. yea... amazing what a little link can do

Who pissed in your coffee this morning. You can either sign up for it if you believe it will help as I signed up and have not had one call as I was getting bombed all day with telemarketing calls from my home phone.....It helped me.....rummers yes, i have gotten telemarketing calls to my cell phone......my damn kids entered me in a drawing.......

I guess I should spell it out ..For Bevis....Devis???...You use your cell phone as your main telephone number.....You sign up at a health club....you buy a warranty.... buy a car....buy a hot tub.....the worst is to put your name and telephone number in a drawing......your contact number......... CELL PHONE NUMBER .....What happens next...... most of the time, say once a month, sometimes weekly, a telemarking firm will send out one of there managers to purchase a printed out list of PHONE NUMBERS....yes. they are sold for around $1 a piece......so, then the list goes back to the telemaketing room and the telemarketers call from the list of PHONE NUMBERS given to them...They get paid on commision......But.....IF YOU ARE ON THE NO CALL LIST......they will not call you...If they do....The telemarketer will get fired if the person they call is on the NO CALL LIST....and if the person that they call complains and fills out the form found on the www.donotcall.gov web site and if the telemarking firm gets too many complaints.....they get fined...........fact....I ran a Gym for 23 years and at times used telemarketers....How do you think I got my Leds?????? I paid for them.......

FYI, my dear fellow XDA-er, the rumor portion of your post refered to the release of cell phone numbers list. Clearer than this I cannot be...
Also, FYI, what you do with your cell phone number (who you give it to, where you enter it, who enters it where) is strictly your business and I need not know any of those details.
And as for the name calling, or as I would actually put it, LACK OF READING SKILLS, I would have to say that you sunk yourself to a very nice low.

Orders from Vodafone UK

Hi Guys, pleased to say that I've finally jumped ship from Windows Mobile to Android after 7 years with verious WinMo devices. Hopefully I can give some contributions to the Android community.
Any, I'm after knowing of anyone that's placed an order the the Desire with Vodafone UK? Basically, they gone out of stock already! Order was placed yesterday and was told that the devices should be in that afternoon but a call from Voda later that day I was told no go until tomorrow now. Fine, but then today I've had another call saying that the delivery didn't turn up and they won't be getting any in until sometime next week now!
Vodafone have also locked all the threads on their forums regarding the lack of stock so it's not even possible to discus the issue with them!

I spoke to someone at vodafone regarding me moving from O2 and he said they expect new handsets around the 20th of April.
I applied for my upgrade with them on the 14th. Everything went through OK and I received the 2nd email saying my order was successfully processed. Then, I get another email saying I have to wait 7-10 days for my phone as it's out of stock which was where the fun began.
I first thought, these things happen. But with with a bit of reading around the Vodafone forum, this had been happening to a lot of people for weeks prior to me upgrading.
Why the hell did the advertise on the site that I could get it next day, when obviously I couldn't. Now they're blaming everything on the volcano erupting. From what I can tell, this problem has been going on way before anything happend with a volcano stopping the deliveries.
3 have even posted a blog explaing what has happened and have apologised to their customers. I have sent email after email and received no replies, the phone staff are useless, and now the once excellent online team are just closing every thread that has the word "stock" somewhere.
They really have to get their act together.
I got my handset as an upgrade. Ordered on the 14th, received an email on the 15th stating it was out of stock and it would be 7-10 days. I contacted customer support to say I'd seen the handset in store and asked whether I could simply go in and pick one up.
Never got a reply, but my phone arrived the next day.
Upshot is, supply seems very patchy and Vodafone's stock control a tad lacksadaisical. Then again it's not surprising that it's selling well given the comparatively low tariff costs for the level of hardware, plus pretty much everywhere has given the phone a good - if not great - review, two minutes googling will convince even a non-geek that it's one of the phones to have.
I'm getting pretty sick of vodafone. every post i start now gets deleted! had an online chat with one of thier sales people today who told me it was in stock! posted it on vf forum and guess what? deleted within about 20 minutes!

i'll believe that when i see it! And it's not really about the delay anyway, that i can understand, it's about the blatant lies and closing/deleting of threads that's really pissing people off. Everytime they close a thread they give a link to another thread which is locked, pointless. it's become very clear that some people have recieved their phone even though they've ordered after others that are still waiting then claim that it's first come first served.

I don't use their forum so can't really comment on that, but it does seem pretty frustrating. Anyway, according to someone on AVForums who spoke to someone from web retentions today, they might not be in stock until a week on monday now...
Yeah, I ordered mine on the website and then got the email saying it was backordered AFTER the purchase had completed.
This is a major design flaw in my opinion. If something is backordered, it should tell you BEFORE you confirm the order.
I tried to call the 0844 number (specified in the email) a couple of times to find out the status of the order and gave up both times after waiting 15 minutes on hold for each call.
I finally had a massive argument with someone in customer services, who incidentally was really snotty with me, before filing a complaint with a manager - cancelling my order in the process.
Then the next day I walked into Carphone warehouse and just bought the phone
Customer Service Rep: Nobody in the UK has stock of this phone... it's because of the volcano.
Me: Erm, my co worker got it in carphonewarehouse yesterday.
Customer Service Rep: Yeah, well i bet they're sold out now.
Bottom line, Vodafone service is appalling at the moment, I'd advise anyone consdering buysing a desire from them to stay well away.

Vodafone have had unprecedented demand with the offers they have been giving so I guess they are in a different position. I agree that it is annoying, but personally I can wait as I know that nowhere else can offer 600mins, unlimited texts, unlimited data and free phone for £22 a month.

Sprint SGS3 Signal issues, missed calls, text, etc.

I have been having real weird issues with my text messages, and I've been told that people called me, but my phone doesnt say so. Yesterday I got on chat with sprint, the said that they troubleshooted the phone and to leave the battery our for 1/2 hour and reboot, all should be good. I did it(after ##72786# to reset the phone info), and it worked for a while. I checked my voicemail and had 5 messages from missed calls yesterday. Today Sprint was supposed to call me back to see if the troubleshooting thing worked, I checked my voicemail, and sure enough, I missed their call. So today they told me that they were updating towers...blah, blah..lte....., blah, blah.....fixed by the 11th. I had a similar issue yesterday. I rebooted my phone because I though it was strange nobody texted me all day(someone usually texts me) then right after it boots the notification sound goes crazy haha missed 20ish texts D:
First time its happened to me, will see how today goes. Besides that signal is fantastic.
My signal is fine, the phone just doesnt receive anything, or will receive multiple copies of the same text. They said that towers are being updated in Boise, and they expect a fix by the 11th. Gave me a ticket number and everything. I might talk to tech support around lunch to see what their response is. Judging by what the Sprint community says, all of their LTE phones are having issues. Even the Gnex.

Not all stores or Sprint customer service telling the truth....they make it seem like the phone in my case when I know the deal....net to mention they don't want to credit me for rendering poor service so they deny it's service......sad
Its pretty rediculous, I call my phone from my desk (that the phone is sitting on) and it rings a few time and goes to voicmail, but the phone doesnt do anyting.
I'm down in the oc in California and signal is decent, 3g been slower lately due to updating the towers, so far no phone call issuers, had the text problem and failing to send texts or not receiving or receiving many times, for now insurgent u set google voice to notify you since it uses data to communicate so it's better at Texts and such, at least til sprint is done with the upgrades.

Happens on my HTC EVO 3D and HTC EVO 4G, so it's not just a phone issue. And my fools at the local Sprint store in my area claim there's no issues. Of course, these are the same fools that think 3rd party launchers are rooting your phone.

The threads the OP referenced are pretty much what I was looking at.
I too am experiencing the worst luck when it comes to signal strength. My friend has the good old evo 4G. I put the two phones side by side. I can observe the signal fluctuate on my s3 as the evo has a perfect full bars.
The sprint forum seems to suggest that it might be a network issue. I don't buy it. I think it is a hardware issue unfortunately.
The phone is nice and fast. But this connectivity issue is a deal breaker for me.

UPS sucks!

Just a bit of a rant...
A little annoyed with UPS. I was scheduled for a delivery on 11/1 for the GN2 and have been tracking it religiously. I'm in the Boston area and know that there may be delays due to hurricane Sandy. Yesterday came and went and still nothing. I called UPS yesterday and was told to call back today if I didn't receive it by end of day 11/1. I called this morning and was told that since it's passed the schedule delivery date, I need to call Tmobile and have them start a formal investigation with UPS! I see from the UPS tracking, the last scan was in KY on 10/29, how can they not know where the package is or have no additional information to tell me other than contact Tmobile!

Hey man I spent 2 hours at UPS along with a few others 2 days ago. I was there for the first hour and they had no clue where my package was. tracking said out for delivery so i assume it was put on the wrong truck. after 2 hours they found it on a truck and 30 min later it was in my hand. Head to the closest UPS center where it should have been scanned before delivery. Another guy was told his package was delayed and it showed stuck in KY but he came home to a note on his door saying delivery attempt. If the local ups center isnt too far its worth a trip of you have not already solved the issue.

Finally UPS updated the tracking. It's going to be deliver this coming Monday! I try to call the local UPS center to see if I can pick it up, apparently they're not open on the weekend. Guess I'll have to wait till Monday.
UPS is terrible. I can't tell you how many times I have paid for slower shipping and watched them actually let a package sit in one location for 3 days. Say what you want about USPS but they deliver on Saturday and if hey can get it to you quicker than what you paid for, they will.
I'm glad it worked out for you (assuming it really arrives on Monday).
I order mine threw best buy they price matched me I just got a shipment status I'll get it on Monday I can't wait but I wish they would of sent it out yesterday they sent it on one day shipping but I still have yo wait till Monday urgh I can't wait !!
i always preferred FedEx over UPS due to reasons like this. Now im not saying FedEx is perfect but I feel they have less f-ups
I won't buy from any company that ships via UPS. They are that bad.

I live in Manhattan. I was supposed to get my phone Tuesday. It was out for delivery Thursday. Now it's just nothing. Maybe Monday? The ****ty thing is that they're not delivering this weekend to make anything up.

They've been shut down for a week. Campus has been cleaned up, trees removed, and power restored, so they are calling them back. We scrounged to get 3/4 of a tank of gas for her. Still lines of 100's of cars to get gas here in North Jersey. Impossible. Haven't seen it this bad since the 70's. I walked to school cause there wasn't enough gas to drive.
Cleaned out our closets for coats, boots, shoes, clothes for the collection they are getting together at school. I wish we could do more.
Ever Seen A USPS Aircraft?
If you ever see a USPS aircraft please capture a picture. You know UPS carries a lot of the USPS volume (both first class and package), and after the first of the year it will be a whole lot more. Parcels do sit in one location for way longer then 3 days, If you want it faster you should pay for 1DA or 2DA service, if it doesn't show in time file a claim and get your money back for the shipping.

Who got a call from Samsung asking you to return their Note 7 ? .... I just did

Samsung called me this evening. I am in Vancouver, Canada.
The person who called me had a very strong Filipino accent. I asked her if she worked for Samsung and she said she was a Samsung agent.
She asked me where my phone was and I told her I was talking to her on it. I probably should NOT have said that because she said she is typing out all the notes of the call. If there was a way to track my IMEI during the call, it probably wasn't smart of me to tell her I was using the Note 7 on my call with her.
She then asked me if I was using my first or second Note 7 ?!?!?!
She asked me to return the phone. I said the phone works fine and that I will return it when the S8 comes out next Feb/March. She read pre-planned messages to me over and over about 5 times on turning off the phone and returning it. She then said that Samsung will be calling me FREQUENTLY to return the phone now that they know I am still using it. I asked what my options are and she said send it back and get a refund in 25 days !!! Or send it back and get a S7 or S7 Edge. I said no thanks to both. She then told me don't sleep with the phone on my pillow or next to my head ?!?! She was not that friendly at all. More of a lecture and grumpy tone. I replied by telling her to write on my account notes that I think the phone works fine and that they whole recall was not necessary and overblown by the media, and told her I won't be returning the phone until sometime in 2017.

Shoot, I feel left out in the US. I've been calling those Samsung idiot reps. to send me the fireproof box so I can return darn N7. Nada from them. Then again, my N7 works perfectly. Looks like I won't be returning it anytime soon.

I was in the gym last week and they called me too.
Lady did't speak English well. I told her, one of my phones i have returned to bestbuy and the second one blasted on fire right in my car's front seat. I kicked it out when i pulled over on the side of the high way and now raccoons are probably trying to fix it.
Laugh no joke, she wrote all that.
I also asked whats up with the pure service on the returning/exchanging the note 7s and told her i have another 2. She could care less about those things. All she wanted to know were the ones that i had on file. Samsung.....

I actually called them during the first recall exchange to try and wrangle a free Samsung Gear VR out of them for the inconvenience, but no go .

Just an update to my original post : I received another call from Samsung today, so it looks like they are keeping their promise on calling me over and over to return the phone. The caller id is 855-747-6520. This time the caller was male and much friendlier. I asked if he was a Samsung employee and he said yes. He asked me if I returned my phone yet and I asked him to read the notes on my account. He chuckled as the notes must be quite funny. I then asked if there were plans to block IMEI and he said no, which kind of make sense as calling owners is an effective way to keep asking us to return the phone. I then asked if there was a deadline for refund and return and he said no. I then asked him to write down notes requesting not to keep contacting me as my response will be the same and will not change, and that I will keep the phone until the S8 comes out. He said he understands and thanked me to taking the call
If I get a call, I'll remind them that the recall is "voluntary."

If I get a call I will simply remind them one time that I am in no contractual obligation to return the device to them. I have not done business with Samsung directly. Verizon has refunded all my money for the phone including sales tax and will no longer be charging me for it monthly.
Then I will proceed to block the number they are calling from and continue to enjoy my completely free Note7.

moto z2 force mod promo

Anyone get any confirmation on it yet. I'm having a lot of stupid obvious issues....like no IMEI #/no date.blah.blah stuff...and yes I submitted everything properly

I am having a similar issue. It says the date of purchase is not on the receipt but it is clearly on there. I am not sure what their deal is. I haven't called yet but I am expecting to be screwed out of the projector mod in the end.
It went through for me. I received a confirmation email from Motorola. I've had three Z2s but this is the only one I've submitted. I'm using the Sprint model purchased from Best Buy.

had the same thing i called and found out you have to wait till you have had the phone activated for 14 days before you can submit your application for the premotion

That makes sense, I submitted 8 days after purchase. Were you able to resubmit and get approved?
I can till next Tuesday they said that they would resubmit it for me but I don't trust them that much so I will do it myself

Update:
I got a your package has been shipped email with a tracking #. But when I checked the tracking # on the Fedex website it said that the shipment was cancelled by the shipper. Now waiting for a reply from Motorola.
I too am having issues. Free projector was what knocked off the fence on buying this phone. So I got rejected and the reason given was something to the effect of wrong item chosen. Called 800 number and they could not tell me why rebate was denied. Opened a ticket in the online help and received a quick reply. But he could not tell me why either. Luckily I had mentioned that I had not yet activated the phone to my number. His first reply to my inquiry said something about having to activate phone to receive rebate. Sent a reply (AND resubmitted exact same paperwork) in which I asked four questions INCLUDING WTH was up with being required to activate phone. It does not mention that at all in the terms. Never heard back. Sent several messages without any more responses. Finally a week later I called again. Really raised hell . She had no idea why I was rejected. But did tell me that the requirement to activate phone was a T Mobile one. I called BS. Ordered rebate from Motorola and it was their terms online. Never got a clear answer. Last thing she said was pretty much that my re-submittal would be processed when it was processed. Hung up pretty pissed off.
But she did give me an email address for corporate. Blasted them a message complaining about my experience. Got a reply that day telling me I was approved for the rebate. "Please wait the original 4-6 weeks". Pretty sad experience.
I did check link again and the reason for the denial had been changed to wrong paperwork submitted. Which was not at all the case.
I had no issues with mine, just hope it doesnt take the 4-6 weeks and comes sooner instead. that's a long time to wait...
My third attempt finally got approved(by email confirmation) after multiple calls to Moto.
Might make out on all the hassle because I now have 2 different tracking IDs that say mailed. I think they may have messed up my first attempt because I called and went off when it got declined and I made them manually fix it..but never got any type of confirmation and was told to resubmit by a different administrator.
T-Mobile told me getting the phone on JUMP was eligible for the promo. I get the phone, submit the paperwork, and don't hear anything until the denial came in the mail. It said the model wasn't eligible for promo. I was pissed. I contacted Moto and they said leased phones aren't eligible. Total BS! It shouldn't matter to Moto how I bought the phone. I will never fall for a Moto Promo again.

It makes no sense that leased phones wouldn't be eligible, because that's basically the only way to get a phone through Sprint, and we're advertising the promotion as well.

That is exactly what I told them. It is still a sale for Moto and it brings a new Moto customer. I bought a couple mods already and now I wish I would have waited. I have never been turned down for multiple Samsung promos. I might just give my Moto to my kid and grab the Note 8 with the 360 Camera instead.
Finally got a shipment tracking number!!
On 9/11 mine was received. Waiting for the validation. Might be a while I bought it on 9/11 so gotta wait those 14 days

Just curious. When did you submit your claim? I submitted mine on 8/13 and my status still only states "Received".
Got mine today. My last submit was 9/11 and after validation it should be there within two weeks. FedEx delivery was pretty quick
