sounds like main PCB problem , especially if you've hard reset the device. another problem i've noticed for a long time is that over time they become sensitive to heat, and tend to reboot in middle of running anythign that generates heat, ( music/video playback or heavy wireless usage )
May want to have it looked at by your handset provider or network provider.

I cannot turn off speaker

Hi everyone. I have a problem with my Artemis. When i was trying msn on my mobile, i recorded and send an conversation on one of my msn-contacts. After this i played the recording on msn to hear what i send him. Everything worked ok. I closed msn, and tried to make a call. But all the conversation was like if i had the speaker on (but i had it off). I tried to activate it, and after this to deactivate it, but the problem was still the same.since then every time i use the device as a phone to make or receive a call the problem is the same, i hear the sounds like in speaker-on mode.
I tried Hard Reset and Soft Reset, i even tried to change ROM on my device but the problem still is the same.
Can somebody help me please? I bought the device 2 weeks ago

Call Sound Quality

Hello,
the sound quality is very bad. The strange thing is, the problem occurs only using the phone app. I am using the stock phone app.
Any idea? I need help. All other things are working but I can't use the phone to make calls. It sounds like distortion ... . Already the sound during ringing has the problem.
The problem only occurs with the internal front speaker. No problem if I use the rear loudspeaker or headphones.
Is there a wait to solve the problem?
Call Sample
Hello,
here is an call sample. I know the quality is not perfekt beacause of the notebook fan. I call another phone and after ringing the mailbox of the called person starts. Especially at the end were the mailbox voice occurs the problem is very clear. It is nearly impossible to understand what is said.
Is this the normal sound of the internal speaker (front)?

of course not.
Hello,
thanks for the answer. Found the following thread.

Strange thing I am also using this phone in Europe. I am quite sure the problem is not a hardware problem. Because if I use the phone with VoIP service app, the speaker just works ok.
I would try a clean flash of a custom rom, factory reset maybe (was it always bad?..)? I also had problems with the internal speaker, if I have set the volume higher than half, it made crackle sounds. But it was a hardware issue, (in skype, fring, viber also had this problem). I had to send it back to the usa, cause I live in europe and literally no one could fix it here because of the lack of hardware. I had to live without my phone for a month.. annoying thing, but now it's ok

First of the time after buying I didn't use the phone for calling. With Skype I will try again. Also the VOIP test. How did you manage the repair? With ATT or Samsung?
Its not only because of the time. Also because of the money for transport and repair.
Thanks for answering and help!

Problem with mic

Hello!
I have bought recently a Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra and I´m experiencing this problem with its microphone. Sometimes when Im recording a voice message in WhatsApp, the mic sort of "shuts off" in the middle of recording, where my friend then hears some static noises and the voice message ends abruptly, even though it should have run longer. Has anyone experienced the same problem and could tell me how to solve this?
Thanks!

The problem is an issue with microphone permissions from another app that is still running in the background. For me it seems that Facebook messenger seems to disable my microphone entirely. Any video recorded with my camera has no audio. Snapchat no audio, can't use speakerphone during a call but regular phone calls with phone up to head work fine. I've been using an appkiller to disable all running apps and this eliminates the issue. This has been a problem since I bought the phone in august or july, along with anything audio played from the phone cutting off gradually as if someone was slowly turning down the volume. I'd check the volume and it was up to max. Sony issued an update in august that seemed to fix the problem but now it's back as of the last update a few weeks ago. I'm also having problem with bluetooth turning off as soon as it turns on and white bright spots behind the screen that bestbuy tells me is water damage however the phone has never near anything wet ever.

Hmm interesting! I didn´t install Facebook Messenger on my phone, so it must be some other app, that the mic has a problem with, I´ll play around with them then. But thank you for your reply, hopefully Sony will release another update soon, that will fix these issues! Although I didn´t encounter any problems with audio, bluetooth or the screen spots ... yet  Sounds terrible though!
Having similar problem mic works when it wants to but will not work in regular calls didn't have this problem until the oreo update and Sony has no clue how to fix it they replaced the mic but it still fails it passes all test just won't work in call. Tried to reset used the Sony repair app, prayed to all the gods so I knew at least one heard me and nothing.

N5X voice call problems - my voice severely muted / garbled for other party

Nexus 5X, Stock 8.1.0 with security patch level 5 April 2018.
If I make or receive a call, the other party cannot hear me, my voice is severely muted and garbled. I've tested this by leaving messages on my home phone and all suffer from exactly this.
Now the microphone itself seems to be fine - WhatsApp voice messages are perfectly clear, I installed a voice recorder app to check and the recordings are good. Google voice searches also work fine.
I've done a factory reset. I've uninstalled updates to the Google Phone app. I've swapped SIMs. I've tried alternative dialers. I've turned on/off 2G /3G /4G. But my voice calls are always rubbish.
Anyone have any ideas as to what might be going on or suggestions as to what else to try?
Thanks!
Hi
I'm just visiting here with the same problem. I've been getting complaints about call quality from my end for a little while and it's driving me mad trying to be heard, often it starts off okay, then degrades rapidly after a few minutes, other times its from the start of the call. I've done the same as you, the mic tests fine in other apps, and sometimes it works okay. I did a complete factory reset which did seem to improve things but the problems returned, and no, I hadn't added any apps in between it working and going back to being terrible.
I've also tested calling my home answer phone and leaving a message to see what people are complaining about, and it is just constant drop outs. This happens over Wi-Fi calling, and over the network (EE network/UK), so it's not a reception problem. I've also used a plug in headphones with microphone and it's the same problem.
I really didn't want to buy another device at this time, but to me it's looking like a hardware problem.

Phil

Before I did the factory reset I had tried turning off noise reduction in the build.prop as recommended to try but it made no difference.
It sounds to listen too as though it's a faulty connection, and I'm thinking now this might be related to the reboot loops caused by connection problems, and this has the same cause, broken connections on the main chip. It's odd the sound is okay when recording sound or video, however that might simply be because the sound is being routed and processed elsewhere, and it's only when it's compressed for a call and routed via the Qualcomm modem that it's affected by a faulty connection. This would explain why sometimes for me it is okay, or starts of on a call okay then as the phone warms up the connection starts breaking.

Hi
I've now upgraded to a Pixel XL 2 as I needed to be able to be heard on calls and the 5X was out of warranty and LG didn't want to know. I really didn't want to upgrade quite so soon. The XL with the same SIM card on the same mobile network is all good and everyone can hear me, plus I have the benefit of VoLTE.
I believe the microphone problem is hardware related, most likely the same cause as the boot loop issues where the CPU or board has some broken solder connections. It sounds like a broken connection, and explains why it has progressively become worse. It's a pain as usually when I upgrade my phone gets handed over to another family member, but I can't do that with the broken 5X.

Whatsapp problem? Audio from wrong speaker

Hello, I have this strange problem: after EVERY SINGLE whatsapp audio call I find that every sound of the smartphone goes out from the earpiece and not the loudspeaker!
I missed some calls and at least one wake up because the alarm wasn't audible and this a trouble for me!
Actually the only solution I found is to reboot the phone but is very inconvenient.
I found a little bit of informations around xda and internet but nothing that seems to work.
I tried to uninstall and reinstall whatsapp and factory reset the phone but with no luck.
I have an LM-g710EM with original v10u-222-01 locked and no modifications.
Maybe someone has advices?
Thank you!
