Windows Live Sync Problem - P3600 ROM Development

Windows Live under wm6 is not saving the Sync schedule, have to process manually. Has anyone had this problem.
wm6 Trinity
Rom: 3.00.707.16
Radio version: 1.46.30.11

I have been having the same problem.
It doesnt save the sync schedule.
If i want to check for mail i have to manually sync the device.
Anyone one found a way of resolving this?
BTW I have a Hermes, but the the issues is still valid.
Looking at other posts i dont think the problem was sorted.

Retina WiFi scanner (and WEP cracker)

http://www.eeye.com/html/resources/downloads/WiFi/
Aparently its the first PPC app to do WEP cracking.
I can't get this running properly on my Imate PDA2K, (WM2003SE), I think the problem is to do with zero config wireless in Windows Mobile 2003.
Maybe you guys will have better luck?
Won't run on my XDA IIs either (1.40 ROM, 1.12 Radio)
Says unable to load the driver, make sure wireless connection manager isn't running.
Installed it on my IIs and it worked fine first time!
Dont forget to switch on the wifi before launching the program

Can I ask what ROM versions' you using and are you still using the O2 Active software? Just wondered why mine doesn't then if yours does (and yes I turned it on first!)
Sorry... didnt want to appear to be teaching granny to suck eggs
Rom Version 1.31.00 WWE
Rom Data 12/13/04
Radio Version 1.06.00
Protocol Version 1337.38
ExtROM Version 1.31.139 WWE
Apart from the O2 rom upgrade, everything else is pretty much as it was when bought it (crap, slow, constantly crashing and useless BT!)
Cheers
J
Can somene host Retina Scanner for pocketpc? I tried to download it from the site but it will not accept my gmail email account.
Thanks!
The Software
The file wont upload?!?
Heres the email link sent to me, try this:
http://www.eEye.com/html/resources/downloads/download.asp?file=RetinaWiFiPoc&id=050422.121940.125950
Codiac,
The link works but it wont install on my O2 XDA IIs says the cab file is not valid. Did you get it to install and on what unit?
Thanks!
This is the link I followed to download the program and it installed no problems on my O2 XDAIIs.
The only message I got was the usual designed to work on a previous version of windows.......
Its about 3mb in size, ill try and PM my copy to you
Works for me
It works great for me with a iMate JAM and Sandisk WiFi + 256MB. No problems at all.
Can someone please email me the file? It cannot be downloaded from the website at the moment.
Thanks.
rgloverii @ hotmail . Com
It works once the app starts but when enabling brute forces then closing the app, the unit looses connection with the AP requiring a reset.
How does the cracking work? Does it just try the passwords you put in the config? If so thats a bit lame.

It would be a VERY LARGE download if it included dictionary . you'll need to find a brute force dict and copy them to the app's own dictionary.
i installed it and it seems my wireless manager can't be turned off once i run it so i had to do a soft reset
I have downloaded the software but was not able to upload it on the Forum server ???!!!!! :?: :?:
Don't know why & the files are not well sorted it seems nobody is managing it
so any info on how to upload it to the server will be appreciated....
its is junk, when done, the WiFi Connection is trashed and you have to softreset, not good, not sure its worth the issues just to try it...
It did not trash anything on my PPC.
i downloaded it....if anybody is having problems downloading it then you can get it here.....
if you do please check out my site and forums...i am trying to build them up a bit....lol...
rock...
hope this is some help!
oops
above is the PC version....i grabbed both 8)
here is the PPC version....
GET IT HERE...
lol

GPRS / Exchange ActiveSync stops syncing

Since I got my Exec I've been having problems with GPRS seeming to get 'stuck' connected but not transferring data. After a couple of hours following a reset ActiveSync will sit there with the "Sychronizing folders.." message in Outlook for quite a while and then fail. I guess the connection is no longer there, despite WM thinking it is. As a result the DirectPush email is nearly useless and I have to keep resetting the device.
At first I thought it was related to AKU 2.0, so I upgrade to Helmi AKU 3.3 and now AKU 3.5, both of which also have the same issue.
Here is my device info:
OS: 5.1.342 (Build 15698.3.5.0)
ROM version: 2.50.00 WWE
ROM date: 09/20/06
Radio version: 1.09.00
Protocol version: 42.42.P8
ExtROM version: 1.30.162 WWE
Has anyone else seen this issue? Or more importantly, what ROM are you using that doesn't have this issue??
Many thanks.

i've had your problem, and solved it.
let me guess, you have a proxy configured to your internet settings - right?
if so, the activesync "inherits" those proxy settings (yes, from the ppc) and tries to use the same proxy - which it can't get to, because its using your home ISP and not the GPRS isp.
(i've checked this with a network sniffer (Ethereal) and i was right - the activesync tried to use the proxy that was configured on my device)
to prove you this is the case, create a blank, proxyless connection settings, and set "The Internet" and "My Work Network" to use it. (don't forget to check the V on "This network connects to the internet" on the connection's proxy settings.
after doing this, try to sync and voilla - it'll work.
to fix it permanently - read my how-to guide on using proxies.

Thanks for the info, shlomki. I think I may have explained my issue badly, as I think we're talking about different things.
When I talked about ActiveSync I meant on the PPC rather than through my PC. The problem I have is that for the first couple of hours I can get push email ok. But then my GPRS connection seems to get 'stuck' and ActiveSync for push email just hangs for a while trying to sychronize, but then fails.
Thanks again for the info.
oh, sorry, i misunderstood.
i don't know what can cause this..
maybe try to check if you can still browse the web when it happens? maybe its a issue with your connection..
Thanks shlomki, good advice. I noticed the GPRS login was the old o2wap, so I changed it to mobileweb and it seems a bit better. I wonder if it was some connection or bandwidth issue with the old login. However I will try what you suggest if I get it again and report back.
Well I've been using the newer O2 pay monthly GPRS login details and my connection seems a lot more solid! I've been testing over the last 24 hours and it's been working pretty consistent.

Another Outlook issue...

I am running a Cingular 8525 with the following:
ROM: CUSTEL v2.5
ROM date: 4/17/07
Radio version: 1.41.00.10
Protocol version: 32.74.7020.18H
Since installing WM6 on my device, I have also noticed that when I read an email on the phone, it is no longer getting marked as read when synced to Exchange via Exchange Activesync and when I come back into the office and open Outlook on my laptop, all of the messages are still showing like I have not read them at all.
Anyone else seeing this?
This may not be the answer, but you might want to check your activesync settings. I have a similar setup and I recall chossing "combine items" on my initial activesync connection.

WM6.5.21232 ActiveSync Issues

I am using Win7RC + ZincII using 6.5 21232. The only problem I am having is I can't sync contacts etc using outlook and activesync. I always get this error
Exchange ActiveSync has encountered an error. If this condition persists, please contact your Exchange Administrator.

I get this error if I don't enter my Exchange server details when setting up the device in WMDC. Are you using exchange?

Nopes, I just use outlook for calendar and contacts
atzaus, I have this problem since 21221 on my Atom Exec. I came to the conclusion that coredll.dll in the xip is the culprit, because of my old drivers and native 6.1 kernel. So I got hold of the coredll.dll from 21502 and build an xip for 21231 and am having no problem with activesync since.

thank you sir, this works perfectly
Hmm, this problem still exists in 21752, I am worried that this workaround might stop working in the future as shell depends on coredll and any combined changes would either make activesync not work or take away the capability of running a new build.
Yeh, u r right. It is most probably the OEM drivers that we r using. Apart from the Sync...dll's in the shell folder do we have some other dll's also used for syncing in the system. If we try using all the old dll's instead of changing the coredll it might solve the problem??? I will try and let u know.
On ur ROM site "www.mwgusers.co.cc" u did some work on drivers for Zinc, can that help in any way??

I have the same issue with another ROM based on 6.5 for my Omnia. I sync over the air with my workplace exchange server.
Did you people figure out a solution for this?
For now I have moved back to an older build (21234) which is ok with Exchange.
Do reply back if you figured it out.
Thanks.

Looking for WWE WM6.5 Naked Rom

Hi,
I'm really looking for a WWE WM6.5 Naked Rom for the P3600 Trinity
Not interested in many apps or fancy menu's (I usually disable any menu pluggins such as QMenu etc.)
All I would like is:-
Plain Boot Loader Maybe with wording such as "P3600 - Trinity"
Calc
Calendar
SMS
FDC Soft Task Manager
RegEdit
CorePlayer (TCPMP)
QuickGPS
TomTom Navigator 7.450
Current System Setup:-
CE OS 5.2.21215 (Build 21215.5.0.0)
Processor - SC32442A-400Mhz
Rom Version: 3.00.707.18
Rom Date: 04/18/09
Radio version: 1.56.70.11
I use a company sim which doesn't allow data in anyway (no MMS / No 3G / No GSM) only through the USB / Wireless / Bluetooth.
The reason I ask is because the rom i'm using seems to have a memory leak, and needs daily rebooting.
I currently use the AthineOS on the TyTnII and quite like it.
I have tried many roms, and although they work reasonably well, I could do with something a little more "personalised"
Many Thanks,
Wayne.
Too scared to cook, not afraid to test and naturally cheeky!
Devices:-
WM 6.5-
HTC TyTn II
HTC Trinity P3600
WM 2003-
HP Ipaq 6340
HP Ipaq 6515 (Beetle)
HP HW2210
Trinity WWE / wm6.5 build 215725 Lite
Try the followed rom
Trinity WWE / wm6.5 build 215725 Lite

just downloading now - thanks!
Just loaded the rom.
Looks quite nice.
seems very stable without any glitches
I will report back, but at the moment it seems stable and fast - even when i install TomTom7
I downloaded the file but when I run it, after my phone reset, the software said "Could not connect to PDA" and stop upgrading.
Can someone help me?
Thank
Hi, I'm gonna try it, and then I'll give my opinion.
Thanks.
