Import contacts from vCards / Nokia - P3600 ROM Development

Hi boys,
i've bought a P3600 and i came from a long list of Nokia phones.
From my last N70 (broken display) i've exported the address book in vcf (vCards from OSX Address Book) format (480 contacts).
I've tryed to send all .vcf by bluetooth but many of them don't works.
How can i convert this .vcf for import in sameway to my HTC ?
Thanks and excuse my poor english !

One way is to import them all to outlook and then sincronize the contacts with activesync. Have you tried it?

Moving Contacts from XDA IIi to Exec

Hi all
Well I finally managed to get an upgrade from my loved IIi to Exec.....
However how do I transfer my contacts from old phone to new 1...I tried beam, I tried synching but laptops outlook is dead (2007 thing!), Backup doesnt seem to exist in Exec..so cant back up and then restore
Any ideas???
cheers
George
What I did with my o2 to jasjar was copy my contacts to the sim card then took it out and trasfered to phone.
I dont think when a contact has multiple phone numbers it will copy those...it deffo wont copy all the address, contact grouping info
u can try
syncronizing yopur contacts alone to outlook and then making a new partnership with your new device
it copies everything

That's right. I'm afraid that AFAIK there is no other easy way to sync your contacts. I suspect that you would be better off fixing your install of Outlook.
use any bckup sw i.e. spb bckup, choose only databases and restore in exec and everythink is done. depends what U choose, if U choose email also, it will recreate Your email account settings(user name,pwd...) easier, faster ... than m$hit outlook

Contacts from Nokia

Hi all. I have an Artemis. I want to copy my phone contacts from Nokia E50 to it. I tried from nokia to send all contacts at once via bluetooth, but nothing. If i send contacts one by one, it works. The problem is that i have 600 contacts and probably i'll get old moving them one by one. Is there an automatic procedure?
Hi, I know how frustrated you would be at this moment but please avoid double postings.
Why don't you first sync your nokia with the pc using the nokia sync program, and then sync your Artemis with the same pc? That is the surest way to have the same set of info on both devices.
the problem is that i don't use outlook. i have it, but active sync does't syncronize my contacts. From nokia, I uploaded all contact to outlook, but i can't syncronyze the ppc

I think another way is to copy all contacts in E50 to SIM card and put it into your Artemis. Then you can use Artemis's SIM manager to copy all SIM contacts to your phone. Hope this helps.

Unfortunately the sim may be good only for 250 entries, with the entry name truncated to 13 characters

Chances are since he doesn't normally use Outlook, then it isn't check to synchronize with it in ActiveSync.
hello mate!
i had similar difficult this morning. Copying my 200+ contacts from O2 XDA Exec to Nokia 8800 Sirro.
This is how I worked it out. [Make sure, your phones are properly connected and synchronizing with PC properly before you go ahead with this].
First synchronize your XDA with outlook, making sure, that all your contacts are copied there. MS Activesync works just fine.
Next connect your Nokia phone to PC. Open up Nokia's Synchronization Software in PC Suite. Goes with the name of "Synchronize". Open it up, and follow the directions to Restore contacts from Outlook to your phone [follow directions: PC to Phone].
I successfully moved/copied my contacts and calendar reminders from XDA Exec to Nokia 8800.
One point to be noted. A couple of my contacts on XDA had Images embedded with them. [You know where u put your girlfriend's pics] When these contacts got restored, they still had images with them. But names changed to unnamed. Had to rename them once manually. I couldnt work out the reason for this, probably something that Outlooks does not support properly.
Hope this helps.

import email contacts

ive set up my email on the phone(not outlook) and want to import some email address for the contacts thats already in the phone
whats the easiest way to do this
thanks for any help
Sorry, I'm not understanding your question. If your contacts are already in your device, where do you want to export them to?
i have my phone contacts on the phone, into each contact i want to import their email address with out having to type them all in manualy
pls syn your contacts in Pro2 to Micosoft Office (in PC) with Activesync, after it's done, all your email addresses in your Pro2 contacts are now in Micosoft Office, from where you can export contacts(together with email addresses) into an Excel file.

[Q] contact transfer

When I bought me Focus the ATT rep installed a new sim card. The rep didn’t copy all my contacts from my 2 year old Fuze running Winmo 6.5. I haven’t seen anything in Zune to copy my contacts from Outlook to the Focus. I have copied through activsync all my contacts from the Fuze to Outlook but can’t find a method to know get the outlook contacts on my Focus sim. Thanks for any suggestions.

Windows Phone 7 does not currently sync directly with your desktop Outlook client (via USB, or any other directly connected method). The phone was designed to sync with cloud-based services, which means that it ties into your Windows Live ID (Hotmail contacts), or Exchange ActiveSync accounts (such as Gmail).
A workaround would be to use the Outlook Connector to add your Windows Live Hotmail account to Outlook, and then copy your contacts from your Outlook file to your Hotmail account.
The phone automatically syncs Email, Calendar, and Contact information from your Windows Live ID.
Please try a search next time, as this question and information on this topic is everywhere.
what about sms messages?
is there any way to get them into the phone?

Exporting all contacts to Sony Ericsson

Hi All,
Please can someone tell me if there's a way to export ALL my contacts via bluetooth to my old Sony Ericsson?
I take my old phone to parties because I know my DHD will get damaged. I deleted all the contacts from the Sony thinking I'd be able to export an updated copy from my DHD - but I can't!
I can do each contact one by one, but this is useless with hundreds of contacts.
Thanks very much!
Matt
Sync your DHD with your PC and then sync that with your SE. I assume you can get PC sync SW with the SE?
Dave
My last phone is k750i and I backup my contact using MyPhoneExplorer. Very recently the software (version 1.8.1) was also be made compatible with android so I believe it will solve your problem.
You will need to download the apps from the market and install a desktop version on your computer.
thanks guys.
Here's what I did (which worked)...
-Use the build in "Export to SD"
-Imported the .vcf file into a gmail account
-Exported the gmail contacts to a .csv file
-Imported that into another webmail account which has SyncML available
-Used SyncML to sync the contacts on my C905
What a ball ache haha.
Thanks again
