i tryed this: HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\usbfndrv\EnableUsbCharging = 0
but the result is - indicator dont show craging, but the battery actualy charges (i put him on link in20%, after hour (indicator all of the time showing 20%) & restart - indicator says - 75%.
my question is - is there an additional software, or option, that dont allows charge of the battery on usb link ?
Hey
Did you soft reset your device after changing the reg? Maybe this would help.
Why would charging the orbit cause a problem anyway? Its great to be able to charge the orbit from just plugging it into my pc/works pc.
the problem of this hack is not in the restart:
"Disable usb charge
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\usbfndrv" set "EnableUsbCharge" to 0 and softreset
Be careful whith this tweak because it doesn't seem to charge (no amber LED) but it does !"
the quote is from:

i what to aware from "cicles" on the batery, which it takes from any plug into charge. (same way i shortly take the life from my ipod battery, when i use him for long time like mobile hdd storage) I whant to full discharge & full recharge my battery every time - just a little wirednes of mysalf. i belive this is good for batterys performance.

Hi there !
I hope someone could help with a weird problem.
history:
I've got a T-Mobile MDA compact 3 and I had an issue with my battery. It was completely discharged (~3% left, flashing red) and I was driving / navigating in the car until I noticed that the car-charger was not connected. So I plugged it in - and it was hot in the car... and the battery was GONE.
(I know that a LiOn battery does not like 'hot' ambient temperature, I know...)
At home, I tried to charge it with the power adapter : no luck.
OK, I thought, battery defect... so I bought a new one, Samsung labeld brand, not a 'China' clone.
Now, with the new one I've got the following problem :
- the battery will charge with either USB / car- or power plug charger, BUT it will go from consant organge (ok) to flashing orange (not ok, normally that's "notification" / message arrival) instead of green.
- using the power plug charger, after a night, battery is "empty" again, so charing (constant "orange" LED) -> flashing orange LED -> flashing RED in the morning -> empty
- the "BatteryStatus" tool and the system control panel will show "charging" while charging, but the percentage will never increase (e.g. if I start charging at 30%, it'll stuck on 30%...just displaying "charging"). If I now charge for - let's say 1h, it's still on 30% (despite, that I know it will last for 2 days)
So the problem is, that the PDA doesn't know the actual charging level. But that's also not true: cause if I do a Soft-reset, it's back at 100% (or less if I have not charged fully - which I don't know as it doesn't go to "green LED" anymore.
So again, in short, I always have to reboot to see the current charging level, and I'm missing the "green LED" full charge level (instead "orange flashing LED" notification.
I guess that the levels (low, high, current) are somewhere stored in the registry, or ? I did a hard-reset, reinstalled all applications, but same...
Any hints ? I hope a firmware upgrade would reset the battery status, but as there is no offical firmware for the T-Mobile MDA 3c, I'm stuck... or ?
I have the exact problem on my P3300... When i try to charge with my usb cable everything it's ok...
But when i am trying to charge with my car cable it will go from constant organge to flashing orange... Also the temperature is rising very fast... It has reached to 80 degrees C°
It stop charging when temperature is over 50...
Anyone there to help us???
I get a similar problem.
Allthough, charging on adapter "seems" normal.
Led turns green and battery status via system settings are at 100%.
When disconnecting from the charger, the battery level drops to the exact same level as before charging (example -> battery at 48% -> connect to charger -> after an amount of time LED turns green, battery status is at 100% on the PDA -> remove cable -> battery back at 48%).
Charging in the car or on the computer does not give this problem.
Tested my battery and charger on another unit -> no problem.
Tested another charger and battery on my unit -> same problem.
Device is going back (THIRD TIME in 2.5 months) for repair.
No more Artemis / HTC P3300 for me ......
Hey,
I don't have any charger, so I have been always charging my Artemis via USB.
A couple of days ago it stopped charging. It happened after I discharged it to a very low level.
When I plug in the USB cable, the amber (or the orange) LED starts to blink. I can see the icon that says that the cable (which is ok) is plugged in, but the battery level is dropping instead of increasing.
I've tried even hard reset.
I haven't tried with another battery, but I've tried to charge the battery with a charger made by myself. It was OK - PDA is working, but I can't still charge it normal way.
Any ideas?
Blinking amber
I have the same problem on my htc p3300, and when i used batti 2.4 i saw that the battery temperature is 432675.5 etc something fake temerature. This is the reason, why my pda unable to charge my battery. If you set your pda in bootloader mode, it will charge your battery!. After 3 or more times i charged it in bootloader mode somethimes the battery temp sensor works normally, and the charge is working as well. Sometimes not.
Bat you can charge your battery allways in bootloader mode.
Sorry for my English.
Try it!
Good luck!
So it's a temp sensor problem? I've had the same problem with my SPV 650 a few times. Hopefully it was never permanent!
hey
Do you know how fix this problem ? Is there problem with battery or with mainboard ? I change rom, radio, battery, charger. If bootloader mode is the best solution?
I wait for answer and your ideas
Hi.
I have Prophet with the same problem. It doesn't charge batt, doesn't turn on - clouds then white screen. And it has happened after deep discharge.
Trying "bootloader mode"
i have the same problem with my dopod p800w. the device work only when it pluged, even when the battery is full (in another device) the notification message appear and it turn off ! Anyone can help me ? Sorry for my English !
im suffering from this problem
any solution?
i am about to purchase a new battery however.. i dont think that would solve the problem..
how do you enter bootloader menu?
hi guys,
i just checked out my ARTE160 battery. when i checked out the output voltage, i found that its 3.95~4.2 v when full charged. i jus checked this out with a multi meter. the battery is designed for 3.7v only, so does this mean there is a prob???
thx guys
I'm not a pro, but I think this means that everything is alright with the battery. I would rather worry if the voltage was below 3,7 V - that would definitely mean a problem.
well i find wat u say is logical but still im having some small prob in my phone.....
it keeps working well and suddenly the phone service alone wont work and gets hanged (means no calls and sms) after couple of mins mobile just researches the network and joins.
the prob is when this thing happens and someone calls me the call is ringing but i dont get any ring or alert in my mobile.......
also sms is not delivered kater but is lost completely......
i jus looked out somewhere that these probs may be due to battery........
Battery issue reply...........

I had to get a new battery and performed a hard-reset on my phone and all was well after that. make sure you have a back-up on your numbers....
well savain
thanks for ur reply.....
did u have the same kind of prob like the over voltage???

I've just chcecked the output voltage of my battery - when 45% charged - the voltage was 3.82 V.
in my opinion, your problem has nothing to do with the battery. I had same problem that you described - I switched to WM6 from WM5 - it did the trick.
now it hangs very seldom.
I guess that would help you (at least if you're using WM5).
oh but im using 6.1 at present
its TOM'S ROM.....
...
*for battery issue;
buy a new battery and
charge <----- device must be off!...
when green led light shows, its done..
this should sort your battery issue..
* for issue with - ''suddenly the phone service alone wont work and gets hanged..''
try a hard reset, if it still happens, open the device - open through the back of the device and simply give it a clean, ensure all connections are connecting, in other words, scratch the pins inside device if they need it.. assemble correctly and hope this helps..
-use cotton buds, the ones you use to clean your ears with..
-use a pin/needle to scratch connections..
*sounds like a hardware issue, not rom issue so cleaning inside the device is recommended..
*I've fixed my p3300 plenty of times now by just simply cleaning inside it.
- including the ''not charging'' and ''no sim'' issue people have experienced..
Not charging
HI Geeks, I have a problem with my blackstone battery. It is getting charged only up to 50 to 55 percent. I kept on charger for one ful night. But no use. I am using official ROM. Can you suggest any solution for that?
Help PLZ
I tired both the charger and the USB cable. Still the problem remains.
A new problem
Now i am facing a new problem. When i switch off the Touch HD, it will not start. When i press the power button, it shows "Smart Mobility" then it will go off. I tried once and pressed the power button again. It lasted some more time, reaching to the HTC logo screen.
Then I Connect the phone using the usb cable to the desktop and press the power button. WOW. it started without any problem. Can you help me to get around this problem?

Does anyone have my issue ???
I am charging and charging and the indication shows as charging plus the percentage is increasing like normal. However, when I restart the system it shows more than charge percent. Most cases it shows 100%. For instance, show 82 % but after restart device shows 92 or 100%. Please help me experts. Thank a lot in advance for taking your time to reply
Hello.
I have bought a used desire a couple of months ago, and one thing has been really bothering me.
I need to charge the device for like 12 hours via AC, to get it to 100% (yes, I have tried several chargers), and after that, the battery life is like ~12 hours if I use it only a little. I have also bought a spare HTC genuine battery, nothing changed. The warranty is not valid in my country, so that's not an option. Anyone have any suggestions?
I also have ordered a battery charger from ebay (that would charge a battery without the phone), I'll post when I receive it.
How long does it take the charger to get to 90%
Sent from my Desire using XDA App
It's about 10%/hour, and there is no difference what the percentage is.
Check battery health:
Type *#*'4636#*#* in dialer, > Battery information.
A full charge here takes ~ 3 hours. Till 90% nearly 2 hours, the rest 10% "need" the last hour.
Are you using a custom rom as some of these may drain battery FAST!
I'd check the running apps
reset phone to factory
if you are using clockworkmod recovery, then try clearing battery stats

oh, also try getting one of those $15 brand new batteries from eBay.
I got one, and it's been working like a charm for 3 months now
charges in less than 2.5 hours, and lasts for 1.5 days (average calls, SMS, music player...)

Some enlightenment for you.
What settings do you have for data connection? Wifi, sync etc
These can effect not only battery life but charge time also..
I use a custom ROM with juice defender ultimate..knocks the data off when the screen is off,, but with a sync'd check every 30 mins
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA

You should do this procedure every time you replace the battery (tested working on HTC Desire GSM):
Advanced Battery Calibration (tested and verified on Oxygen + bravoGSM)
Intro:
This will actually calibrate your battery, unlike other methods out there. After calibration, empty will be at 0% not some arbitrary value like 18%. For added comfort, you can perform steps 1-5 until you are comfortable with the routine; on the first run stop at step 5, don’t plug in and watch where your battery dies to give you an idea of the time window available – then on the next run you will know when to plug in. This ensures a smooth and error-free routine. You don’t actually need to do this since the app will tell you when to plug in. Once you’ve done a dry run, plug in, charge for a few minutes until the phone doesn’t shut off when you disconnect the charger, and repeat the process.
Caveats:
When entering the values for the battery registers, pay particular attention that the entered values are the correct ones which are shown below. Failure to enter these values correctly could result in your battery being permanently bricked. You have been warned!
Pre-requisites:
• _thalamus kernel >= 2.6.35.14_r2 RC1 or CyanogenMod kernel.
• A functioning brain (ask your parents about this)
• Patience
• Jon Richards’ “Nexus One Battery Calibrator” application a.k.a. NOBCAP (available on android market), installed
• An almost dead battery (that is mis-reporting its capacity) with what you think is about ~2% remaining – i.e. if your battery dies at 18%, get ready at about 20%
• AC battery charger at the ready
Process:
1. Set your screen time-out to 10 minutes.
2. Run NOBCAP
a. If General tab displays fields but no values, kernel is wrong, see pre-requisites
b. If General tab displays fields filled with values, kernel is right, enable airplane mode on the phone
3. In NOBCAP, menu --> settings -->
a. Check: GPS polling, ACR adjustment, advanced options
b. UNcheck: Airplane and Wake lock. Go back.
4. Go to LearnPrep tab
a. Set age: 100% --> save
b. For
i. OEM batteries ; Set mAh: 1452 --> save
ii. Aftermarket batteries ; Set mAh: 1650 --> save
c. Register: 0x66
Value: a4 --> save
d. Register: 0x65
Value: 06 --> save
e. Register: 0x10
Value: 04 --> save
5. Go to LearnMode tab
6. Scroll down and Set Detect Learn Mode to ON.
7. When Real-Time Voltage (µV) <= 3201000, i.e. when the battery is “empty”, the app will prompt you to quickly plug in your charger.
8. If you were successful here, the learn-flag LEARNF will now be lit and your battery charging.
9. LYPTFA - Leave your phone the .... alone.
10. When charging completes, the CHGTF flag will be lit, Battery Status Register 0x81 displayed, your battery calibrated.
11. Unplug. Reboot.
Supplementary:
The application monitors the battery chip registers. As charging nears completion the pulse current (mA) sent to the battery gradually diminishes in amplitude. This will tail off at about -20mA which the battery interprets as “charging complete” and the battery registers are stamped with its newly determined capacity values. Activating the screen, or any function which subsequently draws current pulls the charge current above -20mA and which the battery detects as charge complete – this is why you should LYPTFA. It’s okay to set an extended screen-timeout and occasionally touch the screen to reset the screen-off timer (i.e. keep the screen on) to keep an eye on charging without affecting charge current.
As an additional experiment, install JuicePlotter, run it once, and enable graphing. This will also monitor dis/charge cycles and give you an idea of the memory effect that the battery suffers from.
I'm trying the guide above me, thanks.
In the Nexus One Battery Calibrator app you can see charging current in miliamps, could you please tell me what is the value for you guys while charging?
Dear all,
I'm using this ROM cm-12.1-20151102-UNOFFICIAL-endeavoru.zip (nightly build by milda25), which I found when I came across this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-x/orig-development/rom-htc-one-x-cyanogenmod-12-1-t3169751.
The ROM is fine for me for daily usage (so, nothing special).
However, it has one big problem on my phone: The battery won't charge when I plug in the charger. Short description:
- I used several different AC/DC chargers and USB cables.
- When I boot into recovery, the battery charges fine.
- I tried rebooting, playing around w/various power saving settings, no luck.
- Since my phone is encrypted, I tried the following: Check the charge status by pluggin in and out and observing the battery light during the individual boot phases
a) HBOOT/Recovery: charging (no light, but displayed by TWM info)
b) CM12.1 spash screen: possibly charging (but no light)
c) CM12.1 password dialog (where you enter the encryption password): charging (light switches on and off when (un)pluggin)
- One strange observation is, that the phone "remembers" the charging status.
- When I plug in the charger in step (c), enter my pw to decrypt the phone, unlock the SIM and then unplug the charger, the phone stills shows "charging". Even the battery circle stays animated...
Maybe some of you guys has a similar experience and can give me a hint how to solve?
Thank you very much and best regards,
Celphis
