I have had the blues with the low call volume on my TYTN after flashing to WM6.
I just updated my Radio to 1.38.00.10 and my vomlume is real loud.
Give it a try.
Allan
i have that radio and still lower incall volume than wm5
I have only had a couple of calls. They all sounded noticeably louder. Maybe this crazy eastern weather boosted my signal.
I haven't noticed any improvement of the sound loudness after upgrading my Radio from 1.35 to 1.38. The volume level is still lower that it used to be when I had WM 5
Sorry for the stupid question.
Where have you find the 1.38 Radio ROM?
I only managed to find the 1.34 or 1.35 versions.

Oops .... it looks like it was really a stupid one (and easy to find).
After installation seems that incoming call volume is still low bet better than I had with 1.34.
Installed Schap's latest ROM and the call quality was dire! Like the volume is way too loud and distorting. Turning it right down makes little difference. So, tried another ROM, and the same problem.
Anyone any ideas?
the same problem in Shaps 4.01 in TNT Rom was ok
Well, Schaps' ROM's generally have SetAcousticParam cooked in.
This is used to make the incall volume louder. I love it. Ive cooked it into roms that did not have it in there. My 8525 has an awfully low earpiece volume and I work in a noisy environment.
Here's the link to the thread that has instructions on how to cook it in.
Just remove the EXEC:\Windows\SetAcousticParam.exe out of the preconfig.txt
This is kinda scary and might take a minute (or 30) to do but now is always a good time to learn how to deconstruct/reconstruct roms.

I appear to have fixed this! I installed a different rom, not schap's. Same problem. So I then installed Schaps rom again, and this time, in call quality fine!
Every 6.1 rom I have used so far has a low ringer volume level. It starts out really low. I can barely hear it. I am using CRC's now. And I am paired to my headset, but I never had this problem with the 6.0 roms. I even went back to Schap's 4.30 and it fixed it. I heard alot of good things about CRC so I wanted to try it.
Does anyone know a remedy for this?
Thanks,
loki
Currently using schaps 6.1 and have had no problems with ringer. Eagerly awaiting his full release though!!
Recently both earpiece and speaker calls have become distorted, one day they were fine and the next they weren't. The change started after upgrading to NRG's EnergyROM but I'm sure that is just coincidental. I did not have any distortion issues using NRG's Rose ROM. I have tried flashing to other ROM's just to cover my bases but the distortion is there all the time now regardless of the ROM. Adjusting the call volume does not help the distortion. Has anyone else experienced this or is there something I can check? Thanks.
Need some advice or trouble shooting tips.
Lately, my DHD is experiencing a sharp popping sound when I wake the device, use an app, or receive messages via Whatsapp or Line.
Presenting I am on JB and had been on AOSP for a long while. The popping sound only started recently after a period of testing Sense 3.6 and Sense 4 ROM's. Going back to AOSP, I noticed the sound right away. Even with all touch options disabled, the sound remains. It's coming from the rear speaker and even if the device is on mute, the sound can be heard.
As well, with online messaging, if I put my ear on the speaker, you can heard a slight hiss and it gradually gets louder until the pop sound cracks.
This problem doesn't happen with the new Sense ROM's I tested. What I have done was tested different AOSP and JB ROM's with the same result.
My next plan is to download a stock version on GB (ARHD is the choice I selected) and test the issue there. However, I am starting to think that I should return straight back to unrooted stock ROM, but I am not sure if that is really necessary.
My question is,,,, has anyone experienced this sound issue and if so, are there any suggestions or tips? As well, could someone experienced actually offer an explanation for the sound. Is my device on its' last legs?
I am thinking it might be kernel or radio related. I really don't know and hope someone can shed some light on this subject.

I highly doubt that it's software related. I've not seen anyone report any such kind of behavior and neither have I experienced it with either Sense or AOSP roms. The fact that the pop sound does not happen when you're on Sense roms is a bit strange, however I think it maybe explainable by the fact AOSP versions generally have boosted volume levels for better sound.
Personally, I think that you should get the speaker module replaced before it breaks down completely (which I believe is a very real possibility given the nature of the problem you've stated).
Just tested ARHD and when I make a call, there is a slight tick or crackle sound coming from the front ear piece. The sound is faint, but when put the phone to my ear and press the call button, I can clearly hear it.
I'm going to test the original radio and see if that sound remains. If it does, it seems the previous post above just might be my issue and I really hope not.
You could also try a can of compressed air.
By the way buddy, you've been here too long to be posting in the wrong section

LOL,, did I? HTC Desire HD General Section? Maybe I did... Where should I post?
As for the air compressor, I did that a couple of months ago. I'll give it a go.
As for changing the radio, I did and still have that click with calls. Looking grim at the moment.
It's a thin line between where to post, but yours is a question.
