Been trying out pRSSreader for a day now with XDA Live x0.20, but for some odd reasing the application won't load any pictures from rss feeds.
Any suggestions on which RSS reader fully works with WM6?
Try the one from SPB..

I forgot to mention, that I'm looking for freeware. But i'll look into the SPB RSS reader.
I also use Spb Insight. One the best i've used. Shame it doesnt have a today plugin though......
S.K.
Anything with a today plugin?
I tried Egress 3.10 with XDA-Live 0.3 but it hung on boot with the today screen plugin installed
Newsbreak works great with auto update.
it does audio and video podcasts
It has also a today plugin
but is not free...
I'm running Egress 3.1.0 with no problems at all. In fact, it seems to work better for me than it did on WM5.

Not running WM6, but Egress also freezes my device. I have the unreleased Cingular rom installed. I emailed the dev, but no word.
re: rss reader
I just use pocket rss, does the job- no problems
Compatible RSS Reader for WM6
I tried SPB's Insight and it was OK, but then I was referred to NewsBreak by Scott Hanselmann's blog. I tried it, paid $7.95 for it, and love it. Much faster and logical (to me anyway). More info here.
I'd have to say I'm also a fan of PocketRSS. I didn't see a huge point of having an RSS feeder that doesn't show up on the Today screen. This one does and works well. The website you can get it at is happyjackroad.net

Good to know. I know I didn't give myself enough time with WM6 to figure out the issue, but sometime I'll flash it back and try again...

You should look into downloading a program called Palringo. It works great. I just downloaded it this morning, and it's working like a charm. Go to www.palringo.com. It allows you to run Yahoo! Messenger, AIM, ICQ, etc.
They finally got around to releasing a version of SideShow (this is MS's official beta, not a 3rd party). Tried it on my phone with Ricky/Kavana's v23. It works (no crashes yet)... some problems with browsing the media files library (content malformed).
The real bummer is that the home plug-in works does not work with the new 6.1 panel home (you either have to revert to the old 5/6 home screen to browse email, content, feeds, etc.). You can go to it as a regular app but that somewhat defeats it's purpose.
Anyone think that it can be ported to to work with 6.1 sliding panels?
Free download on MS's site without having to contend with RapidShare:

Thoughts anyone.
What does it all do this new program?

this sounds freaking sweeet can't wait to try it out tonight....
i get it working. the bluetooth setup takes forever and and is not very stable, also i can not get the windows media player gadget working (the main reason i downloaded this).
Just read the documentation from the download. States not compatible with toshiba BT drivers. Too Bad
oh yah I see thats cool
Ah bummer, looks like it's for Vista and Mobile not XP - doh!

IM Client
Hello again all, I was wondering what program everyone is using for instant messaging? I'm using the one that came bundled with my t-mo dash but I just don't like it. Anyone have any suggetions?
You might as well do a search or take a look at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=290153&highlight=
I'm using Agile Messanger and I'm absolutely satisfied.
i am using the new skype. it works good with wifi and chatting also works with gprs after you once connected via wifi, the first time.
There is a new one that does them all (AIM, MSN, GTalk, Yahoo, ICQ, and Jabber) that is currently free and Java based. I quit using IM+ (which I paid for) and am using it exclusively. Currently the beta testing is closed while I think they upgrade their servers, but should open up again shortly I think).
It is supposed to be for the crackberries, but works great on my Dash and K-Jam:

Octro: www.octro.com
Free during beta. Big thing about it is it does Google Talk (VOIP) over 3g or even just 1x speeds.
Also does IM with GTalk, AIM, Y!, MSN and ICQ. It has a nice today plugin, customized away messages and auto-login/logout.

Works on my Excalibur and Blackjack..
I find Octro little bit strange as I don't see all of my contacts there and also Octro does not download the "nicknames" from ICQ server so I see only their IDs
Anyone know where I can get the OzInstantMessenger cab?
Agile Messenger is all you'll need. There are some annoying bugs here and there, but for the features it has, I believe it is the best option out there.

Wow, I have been using Octro for Gtalk but I had no idea that they also supported Y! and MSN! Is this a a new feature? I just updated mine like 3 weeks ago. That's wonderful (makes my paid version of IM+ looks positively lame).
Edit: Ahh, I am running v1.0 and v1.01 onwards added support for multiple chat clients. How fantastic!

it used to be until they unleashed that crazy pricing scheme. Plus, I get errors on staturp from it. It's never been the most stable either.

1.03 just came out about 3 days ago. It now adds vibration to the smartphone edition (which was lacking). It enables automatically in the "meeting" profile, etc.
such a great app. I'm hoping they add some SMS relay to the system too to save battery life (like Verichat had)...

McHale, did you have to do anything special to get JiveTalk running on your Dash or KJam. What version did you install? I am wanting to load this on my P3600 if at all possible, but I am getting java errors.
Thanks,
Shawn
I would also like to know how you got Jive Talk on the Dash. I just switched from a Pearl and liked using it on the BB, I would love to have it on my Dash tho. Any info would be great.
MSN Live
Is there a way just to get MSN Live from WM6 into WM5? Does anyone has it that could share it?
Microsoft finally released the Facebook application and so far I have found no bugs (unlike the previous releases floating around here)
Get the dirt here Facebook WM 6.0
And yes it works on 6.1
