nice find...
I've been waiting for this release since January when they first announced it. Works great but still in beta. (Email is not properly refreshed.)
Built in RSS reader and Flickr up/download are really cool.

yeah, i think the program has a pretty sweet interface...
I just wish google would step up to the plate with push gmail and a good mobile utillity suite. Would be so nice to be able to work on documents that are on your google docs and contacts. No java crap either.
The buildin one doesnt work... but let me download the beta on website and see if it works perfect....

correct me if im wrong .. I believe this is the latest windows live v10.6.33.0600, click on my link below my signature to get the latest version. theres a lot of other stuff as well.
There are 2 newer versions then the one provided in the link above, but they do not include Live Messenger. They are 10.6.38 and a 10.6.40. If you need Live Messenger then the 10.6.34.800 is the newest version.
Here is the official link off of Microsofts website.
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/mobile/wl/download-en-us.mspx
I also learned something new which is probably the cause of all my recent WM Live problems on 6.1 ROMS. On 6.0 ROMS I could install it on the storage card, but on 6.1 ROMS it was completely jacking up my phone.
Q: Can I install this product on a Storage Card?
A: No, Windows Live can currently only be installed to your device’s internal storage. Storage cards are not supported for this application as it extends several Windows Mobile features.
and the beta version use to aloow you to send a nudge from your device
not anymore bastards! loved that feature!

That is for Windows Live, messenger is not included. Here is the file for Windows Live Messenger 10.6.34.800
Thank you soooo much!!!!
I re-flashed my phone removing windows live+messenger from it because data plans here in NZ cost a small fortune (and i wanted a lighter rom for flashing), only to discover I could connect to my home wireless with 6.1 (and couldn't with the old 5.0 on my apache)
Thank you so much for the .cab for live+messenger. Damn microsoft removing it from the download. VERY UNCOOL!!!!

I have tried everything but I can't get messenger working the way it's supposed to.
I have the Verizon branded HTC Touch Pro, which doesn't ship with wlm. I've been able to get the one of MS's site (with no wlm) and it works fine. But no wlm. So I tried the "fixed" cab install, which installs and the program shows in the list of apps. But when I click it it doesn't do anything. The interface also gets screwy and theirs like artifact-lagging from menus. The first time I got it running, it showed up on the today screen and loaded my live ID, but just wasn't responding to my input. I unistalled and have tried it again but now the button for the app doesn't even do anything. Click, no response.
Help!
this is not a custom ROM, it's the stock wm6.1 pro for a "ralph".

wm6.5
does anyone have a tested version that works with 6.5
Im gettin a weird message by setting up windows messenger.
I installed it, and tried to run messenger, then this message appears:
"The Windows live id service requires a certificate, but yours isnt working. you can probably fix this by updating the time and date in your device´settings. Afer you do that, try connecting again."
I tried change date and time, but it wont work.
Anyone an idea?

You should look into downloading a program called Palringo. It works great. I just downloaded it this morning, and it's working like a charm. Go to www.palringo.com. It allows you to run Yahoo! Messenger, AIM, ICQ, etc.
Hi there i also have a dutcht version of the excaliber and i have instalt windows live messenger beta on it but it keeps saying that there is a problem with my internet connexion. i am a orange costomer can any one help me with this?
I don't know what the problem is but I have the same issue on my Dash...anyone?
yeah it doesnt work for my Dash either. The first couple searches went through but after my Dash shut off, it stopped working after that.
Does anyone know where I can find the latest binary for WLM?
IM Client
Hello again all, I was wondering what program everyone is using for instant messaging? I'm using the one that came bundled with my t-mo dash but I just don't like it. Anyone have any suggetions?
You might as well do a search or take a look at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=290153&highlight=
I'm using Agile Messanger and I'm absolutely satisfied.
i am using the new skype. it works good with wifi and chatting also works with gprs after you once connected via wifi, the first time.
There is a new one that does them all (AIM, MSN, GTalk, Yahoo, ICQ, and Jabber) that is currently free and Java based. I quit using IM+ (which I paid for) and am using it exclusively. Currently the beta testing is closed while I think they upgrade their servers, but should open up again shortly I think).
It is supposed to be for the crackberries, but works great on my Dash and K-Jam:

Octro: www.octro.com
Free during beta. Big thing about it is it does Google Talk (VOIP) over 3g or even just 1x speeds.
Also does IM with GTalk, AIM, Y!, MSN and ICQ. It has a nice today plugin, customized away messages and auto-login/logout.

Works on my Excalibur and Blackjack..
I find Octro little bit strange as I don't see all of my contacts there and also Octro does not download the "nicknames" from ICQ server so I see only their IDs
Anyone know where I can get the OzInstantMessenger cab?
Agile Messenger is all you'll need. There are some annoying bugs here and there, but for the features it has, I believe it is the best option out there.

Wow, I have been using Octro for Gtalk but I had no idea that they also supported Y! and MSN! Is this a a new feature? I just updated mine like 3 weeks ago. That's wonderful (makes my paid version of IM+ looks positively lame).
Edit: Ahh, I am running v1.0 and v1.01 onwards added support for multiple chat clients. How fantastic!

it used to be until they unleashed that crazy pricing scheme. Plus, I get errors on staturp from it. It's never been the most stable either.

1.03 just came out about 3 days ago. It now adds vibration to the smartphone edition (which was lacking). It enables automatically in the "meeting" profile, etc.
such a great app. I'm hoping they add some SMS relay to the system too to save battery life (like Verichat had)...

McHale, did you have to do anything special to get JiveTalk running on your Dash or KJam. What version did you install? I am wanting to load this on my P3600 if at all possible, but I am getting java errors.
Thanks,
Shawn
I would also like to know how you got Jive Talk on the Dash. I just switched from a Pearl and liked using it on the BB, I would love to have it on my Dash tho. Any info would be great.
MSN Live
Is there a way just to get MSN Live from WM6 into WM5? Does anyone has it that could share it?

If you, like us, thought the honeycomb UI in Windows Mobile 6.5 was a solution to a problem that didn't exist then you're in luck; after some internal backlash from its own employee beta testers, Microsoft has tweaked the UI making it "a lot more usable." According to Loke Uei Tan, anyway -- a Microsoft senior technical product manager demonstrating the updated WinMo interface at MIX09. While the enlarged, more finger-friendly icons retain the exact same off-set distribution, gone are the rigid borders separating the hexagons. Scrolling also appears more fluid and now features some built-in intelligence that stops the flicked scroll-action at the end of each viewable "page" instead of scrolling all the way to the top or bottom of the icon list. Hmm, not sure that's an actual improvement. Check it for yourself at about 6:50 into the video posted after the break. [Warning: Silverlight install required]
