i have a blueangel pda, XDA IIs made from O2, and I have a few questions since I upgraded to Windows Mobile 2005:
--When I installed Windows Mobile 2005, part of the instructions was to format my ext rom and unhide and unlock it to 128kb i believe, and now from what I see, my ext rom is gone in device information, etc. Is this a bad thing? Do we really need our ext rom?
--If I had to hardreset my PDA phone would it go to the normal WM2005 5.0 that is currently installed on it?
--When I soft reset my phone my boot screen is just white green bars and stuff, is there anyway to put it to an image in Windows Mobile 2005? I remember doing it in 2003.
--Also whenever there is an image in my Album if I try to delete it, my phone crashes and I just need to soft reset it, is this just a glitch with the application?
Please try to help me out here, I'm good with computers and familiar with it all so it wont be hard to explain to me.

Hope this helps:
1 After you have partitioned your extended to 128kb you will no longer see it under WM5. This is normal as the combined extended rom and storage you had under WM2003SE is now used as storage under WM5
2 Yes, If you hard reset with WM5 installed it will load it again after the reset (hope thats what you are asking)
3 Currently there is no way yet to change the boot image under WM5
4 Album does the same for me, probably due to the fact its designed for WM2003SE.
i have a couple of things that i have noticed in the last few days, and it aint anything to do with the patches, (i dont think)
1. when i receive a call, it does not actually start ringing and show up on the screen for like 15 seconds, i noticed as someone called me and it rung for a second and went off, i have voicemail kick in after 20 seconds.so i have called myself, and tested, and does not register the call for bout 15 seconds.
2. while listening to music through media player, it is perfect, until the screen turns off, when this turns off, the music stops. when i had 2003se on, it didnt do this, both screen and music stayed on, maybe its just a setting i dont know about,.
3. i am still without storage space for files, while my program space seems like it never moves...... 99mb free. ive probably missed something, but storage space is crappy as hell
any ideas guys??
Hi all
I dont like the default O2 install (think its a little slow / big)
I perfer todo a hard retset and press the reset button when it gives me the customising screen
Im just wondering is there a way to have the screen rotate icon on all the time ? (as default it only shows on screen if you click o2 active menu)
also is there a way to rip / download the o2 gprs settings ? I have tryed to manually set this up a few times but had problems someone said theres a way to install the settings from within the rom (without installing all the o2 stuff)
I have searched and not found much
a nudge in the right direction would be apriciated
Thanks
there is a CAB from the O2 ext rom that I've seen posted in the forum.. I decided not to use an ext rom and formated it and left it blank.. find its just as easy to install the software you want then run xBackup and have your backup ready to restore in case you have a hard reset.. keeps your install clean and fast

You are talking about MRU list, when you run program it places own icon into MRU list, if you don't want to wait, run 3-5 different programs and they pull out your "dead" icon.
Why can't I "Remove Programs"?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am using a S621 (aka S620, aka Excalibur, aka Dash) running WM6 and when I select Remove Programs (Start>Settings>More>Remove Programs) there are no programs on the list at all.
Ideas?
What is it that you want to remove? What 3rd party apps have you installed?
Any app that is part of the installed ROM won't show up in the remove programs.
If you install 50 or more apps to your device the remove program list will be blank when accessing it from settings. You will have to use activesync from your PC to remove programs.

Really? That is strange. That was probably the problem.
Anyways I had been meaning to change from the Russian ROM to the HTC Official one for a while anyways, so I just did that last night. So it doesn't matter anymore (as upgrading removed all my programs, of course), but that is good to know for the future. Thanks.

Need help REMoviNG application please?
I downloaded some applications that i decided that i didnt need (Yahoo Go, Streaming Media Player, Etc)
When i delete them out of my Folders, i still have the icon in the Start menu...is there anyway to remove the icon?
Thanks
Go to settings, page 2, click on remove programs, then choose which ones you want to remove.
If you have total commander you can take em off easily. just open total commaner, go to windows-start menu. Go to icon you want to remove and hit file softkey and delete. Takes off start menu.
Never Do That Unless Everything Else Isn't Possible
You should always go to remove programs like stated above. It's in Settings then more then remove programs. Always, do that instead of just deleting the folders. It removes everything.
Removing programs that come with rom
Hey was wondering if anyone knows how to uninstall programs such as Office mobile, command processor, orneta calculator, resco explorer, cele task just to name a few. I am running ricky's v23 and they were built into rom. I know i can flash to vanilla rom but I like the fact omap clock thats built in keeps setting on what you choose with no further need to set it again. Also like alot of his built in features so dont really wanna flash if i dont have to but wanna free up space and get rid of stuff i don't want. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!
As far as I know, you can't but there is a way but i think it is complicated. I don't quite remember what you are supposed to do but i think you'd have to basically re-cook the ROM to your personal preference. The best person to ask this would be rickywatt himself. Get in touch with him and he'll guide you in the right direction. hope everything works out the way you want it !
If you look in Rickys thread, previous ROMS, he has a "vanilla" version.
Thats the one you are looking for.

I think he just doesnt want to flash the phone, thats the reason why he was trying to find out on how to do it. it kinda takes some time to get the phone the way you like it after you flash it, I would like to know how to get rid of those programs as well with out having to flash the phone.
Remove Programs Problem
Hello,
I am trying to remove some programs I have installed, however when I go into settings > remove programs, the list is blank. I have let it sit for up to 10 minutes hoping that it would populate but no luck. I am able to remove programs with active sync. I have used the remove programs feature with no trouble in the past. Have any of you ever had this problem or know what could be preventing programs from showing up in the list?
How many programs did you have installed? I remember there used to be a problem with WM6.0 where, if you had over a certain number of programs installed, the list wouldn't display.

If your actually low on Ram, I would check pagepool. Make sure you haven't downloaded a trinity Rom with a 16mb PP. Otherwise, run task manager and see what is eating your Ram.
If you have ram and cannot add an event, then I'm not sure. You could try flashing to a non big storage rom then reflash your current rom.
Good luck in 45min.
Chris
WM6.1 don't have "Running Programs" Tabs but WM6 still have. However u can use another task manager program instead.
Hi Guys
I have been having problem with my XDA IIs known as BlueAngel= DarkAngel for me lol, the problem is that When I try to remove the programs through Remove Program short cut in settings First its asking me if I wanted to remove the selected program and when I click an error massage apears and says ( ... program was not completely removed. do you want to remove it from list of installed programs? ) and when click on yes, the same program which I was trying to remove, still apears to be in the list of programs installed in the storage memory.
I have tried MaUpgradeUt_noID_more_ruu[1].dll

Been there!
Had a similar problem a while back

The only solution I found was to wipe the Rom and start again! Sucks, but it seemed to be the only option.
Go get a PIM backup utility - Spb Backup - and save all the PIM data then do a full ROM update (even if it's to the same ROM you have now - you need to fully reinstall)
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BlueAngel_WM5_For_Beginners
Still, look on the bright side - it's a chance to clean away all the clutter, and update to the latest ROM ;-)
I would advise getting a piece of cloning software (Spb Clone) and using it reguarly as you are reinstalling! Then, if this happens again, you can just clone back to the last version that worked!

(I think Spb Software should be paying me, with all the advertising I keep doing for them on these forums )
