hi guys !
my problem is written in Title kiddin
before 2 days my brother broke screen on my baby and i have some questions! screen got little crack, color, sharpnesss etc. is normal but its not touch screen anymore! :/
so what should i buy: that plastic which he broke (costs 20$) or whole touch screen (costs about 100$) ?
more reasonably is to buy that plastic, but some guy told me that i need to buy whole screen (he wanna sell it to me for about 120e) but i dont belive him!
what are our opinions ??
bye
I buy you the PCB cable of the LCD!!
Mine is cutted and I have a good LCD and bad PCB cable!!
Does anyone knows how to remove it? and to glue it back?

Re Blue Angel Touch Screen
I also did the same with mine two weeks ago (Cracked the screen)
Took out the left hand screw of my XDA 2s and then took it back to O2 shop and made out that it was because the screw fell out that the screen broke I know its a bit naughty but I got mine replaced for a new one
Naughty indeed. i like the way you think though. the prob is i kinda know the fella in the shop. does it have to be the shop that i bought it in.?
craked screen
Dont think it matters as long as its a o2 shop (in my case)
I just took it to the shop with the warranty 2 weeks ago as i had droped the XDA i took out the top left hand screw and said because the screw was loose it made the screen crack when i touched it with the stylus.
They replaced it under the warranty for a nice brand new one.
Now got 2 batteries and 2 chargers.
mabye i'll just do that. i was gonna get a screen of e-bay. but your way sounds better
thanks
No probs good luck but remember that it is possiable that this could happen (Screw coming out screen cracks) So dont let O2 fob you off and say it is not coverd by the warranty because the situation can happen.
mine is cracked too, but i have to get one off ebay cause it's out of warranty
(only £20 though so not as bad as when i broke the actual lcd - that was £90)
Was the screen hard to replace?
the lcd was kinda easy, and that involved removing the touch screen so i guess not (my new touchscreen hasn't arrived yet)
did you get your touch screen ?was it easy to install ?

I replaced my touchscreen (without LCD) by myself. It is not very hard. You have to solder 4 small cables. If you can handle the tiny screws and aren't afraid soldering 4 cables onto a 7 mm flatband cable. No Problem.
It is a little bit tricky to open the device because of the slider. The two cables of the slider are just plugged in onto the mainboard, so you can just pull them out with a screwdriver.
Plz help me........

Can you give some hints on how you disassembled the display.
Hi anyone, my little cousin broke my LCD screen. Anyone had a faulty uni and want to sell the lcd please respond to this thread or PM me. Im quite tight on the budget so I dont need a new LCD as new LCD will cost almost the same as 2nd hand Uni in the market. However if anyone could sell me for a cheap price then i dont mind. Thanks
Hi all
my elfin fell from quite a high place, and the four casings into which the small screws visible when you take off the back cover are broken...meaning the front casing is loose too.
do you know where I can find a front cover (I don't really need the back but I'm okay with buying both)... but before that I was thinking maybe someone could have bricked their elf or had an unusable device but with a front cover that's ok...
thanks in advance for your help !
Plenty of covers in a selection of colors on eBay, I suggest you try to find one there. Not that expensive and you can buy a digitizer to match the color.
hi
thnx for your answer . what's a digitizer?

Digitizer is the outer screen cover attached to the faceplate that is responsible for touch function, the one you use your finger or stylus on. It's sold separately and is fairly easy to replace in cases when the touch function is lost or the digitizer is broken. You can get one to match the color of the housing for a complete look. Just look on eBay and you'll see what I mean.
oh... does that mean that the part responsible for touch function is actually stuck to the front casing and not to the screen itself? I hadn't thought about that... meaning I cannot jut change the front cover, I would have to replace this as well...
[edit] is it possible to use the one from my phone? cause it's working fine after all... I'm looking at it and I don't really know how to take it off...

The digitizer is attached to the housing and in your case needs to be pried off before being used again and re-attached to the new housing. The digitizers are fairly cheap (the reason I don't bother with screen protector), so you will get unscratched and new one that you will have to attach to the new housing. My recommendation would be to buy a new housing and a matching digitizer.
Hi
thnx again for your help. I have one more question. Is the digitizer stuck to the screen or is it the actual hard plastic screen?
I find it's actually fairly expensive. When you add up the housing + the digitizer + the shipping costs it adds up to quite a lot..
[edit] Ok I think I finally got it now.
what do you think of this product ?
HERE
I need an advice, my phone just fell out of my palm and it's screen is completely shattered. The touch screen is fully functional but the screen shows orange-ish dots. Is the the LCD or the broken glass just presses it?
Screen repair here costs ~500 bucks, which I ofcourse refuse to pay.
TL;DR:
What should I order to fix it myself , and is it worth it?
(LCD + touch screen? )
Also, if I order the OEM one.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-OE...872?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f1ae6a558
will it be the original LCD2 the HOX has?

· 110% Brand New (In the ebay advert)! THAT MADE ME CHUCKLE !!
I would ask the ebayer, not us about the LCD2 screen
And if I was you, I wouldn't even bother going anywhere near repairing it yourself, unless you have experience. They are so complex its unreal.
Good luck !
Another question, when my iPod touch cracked I tried to replace the glass... it didn't turn out well. I only ordered the digitizer , at the end it was attached to the LCD.
Anyone knows if it's the same with the HOX? Really can't afford a 500$ repair now.

yeah they are attached normally, hox, the glass is attached to the screen.
my dhd when smashed, was declared beyond economical repair.
its only really if the screen isn't smashed too badly that you might be able to warm it up enough to loosen the glue, but you'll probably damage the lcd itself in the process. and then you'll probably bugger up re attaching the new glass. even htc buggered it up with the yellow spots etc on lots of the early models
you're better off getting the whole screen with glass. it will be fiddly, but there are a few teardown guides for hox, and if you research this enough, and make sure you have the right tools for the job, it should be fine.
if i was in your situation, i would try it .. but i would make a million % sure that the screen i was buying was a genuine screen.

Hi today i just cracked my 2 days old n7100, the crack wasn't bad but it's definitely visible.
I'm not planning to send it to a shop to repair the screen cuz it's just too expensive.
I want to replace the screen by myself. So i just wanna ask you guys, is it possible to just replace the glass screen and not the whole thing?
Because the screen and digitizer is working fine. Just some visible hairline crack on the device itself.
So, can i just disassemble and replace the glass screen ?
Thanks guys!
You can replace glass only . its a bit annoying job but it possible... Patience ... And only patience. Here is video for s3 glass replacement . Note2 the same way. Glass you can buy from eBay for 20-30$.

You will be better off replacing the whole glass digitizer and lcd as its more difficult to replace just the glass also base on my experience with replacing the glass, it may pop up after sometime as with my HTC phone. Watch this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxgZeb5QytM and this https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&v=qhd5KwgopZo&NR=1 Good luck
N7100 screen replacement! PLEASE HELP
i think i'd rather buy the whole lcd + digitizer from what i know it's easier to replace since i don't have to seperate the digitizer with the adhesive
